FIRST REMINDER. Yaum Al-thalaatha 15th day of Shaabaan (Tuesday 1st May). IS PRAYING TAHIYYATUL MASJID AN OBLIGATION or A RECOMMENDATION? TAHIYYATUL MASJID means to greet the masjid by offering two Sunnah rakaats whenever we enter into any masjid or Mosque which is popularly term as greeting the masjid. Scholars disagree whether praying two rakaats of prayer when we enter the masjid to is an obligation (wajib) or a recommendation (mustahab). The primary evidence under discussion is the following narration: Abu Qatadah reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: إِذَا دَخَلَ أَحَدُكُمْ الْمَسْجِدَ فَلْيَرْكَعْ رَكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَجْلِسَ When one of you enters the mosque, then let him pray two rakaats before he sits down. Sahih Bukhari 433, Grade: Muttafaqun Alayhi. In another narration, the Prophet said: فَلَا يَجْلِسْ حَتَّى يَرْكَعَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ Let him not sit down until he prays two rakaats. Sahih Muslim 714, Grade: Sahih. Imam An-Nawawi co...
THIRD REMINDER. Yaum Al-Ithnayn 14th day of Shaabaan (30th April). DANGERS OF TAKFIR (declaring Muslims to be apostates). BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue from the first and second reminders. Please request for a copy if you couldn't receive any before reading this one. Ibn Abbas may Allah be pleased with him reported: A man passed by a group of companions of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and he had with him some sheep. The man greeted them with peace and they said, “He only offered peace to protect himself.” So they attacked him, and took his sheep. They went to the Prophet and Allah the Exalted revealed the verse: يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِذَا ضَرَبْتُمْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَتَبَيَّنُوا وَلَا تَقُولُوا لِمَنْ أَلْقَى إِلَيْكُمْ السَّلَامَ لَسْتَ مُؤْمِنًا O you who believe, when you go forth in the cause of Allah, do not say to whoever greets you with peace that you are not a believer. (4:94). Sunan At-Tirmidhi 3030, Grade: ...
SECOND REMINDER. Yaum Al-Ithnayn 14th day of Shaabaan (30th April). DANGERS OF TAKFIR (declaring Muslims to be apostates). BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue from the first reminder. Please request for a copy if you couldn't receive it before reading this one. It is well known that the life of a Muslim is sacred and must be safeguarded in all respects. Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: All of the Muslim is sacred to another Muslim: his life, his wealth, and his honor. Sahih Muslim 2564, Grade: Sahih Whoever unjustly kills a single believer on purpose will enter Hellfire and reside there forever. Allah says: Whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell wherein he will abide eternally and Allah has become angry with him and has cursed him and has prepared for him a great punishment. Surat An-Nisa 4:93. Similarly, the lives of all peaceful non-Muslims are protected and whoever kills one of them ...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaum Al-Ithnayn 14th day of Shaabaan (30th April). DANGERS OF TAKFIR (declaring Muslims to be apostates). BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. One of the worst crimes against Islam and the Muslim community is the practice of excommunication (takfir or takfeer) which is to declare a practicing Muslim to be an unbeliever. There is a unanimous consensus among most scholars that the Quran, the Sunnah, and the righteous predecessors prohibit Muslims from charging each other with unbelief. Allah says: وَلَا تَلْمِزُوا أَنفُسَكُمْ وَلَا تَنَابَزُوا بِالْأَلْقَابِ Do not insult one another and do not call each other by offensive names. Surat Al-Hujurat 49:11 Ibn Abdul Barr comments on this verse, saying: وَقَدْ قَالَ جَمَاعَةٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ هُوَ قَوْلُ الرَّجُلِ لِأَخِيهِ يَا كَافِرُ يَا فَاسِقُ A group of scholars have said that offensive names are a man calling his brother an unbeliever or a wicked sinner. al-Tamhid 17/21. In several traditions, the Prophet and his com...
THIRD REMINDER. Yaumul Ahad, 13th day of Shaabaan (29th April). ISLAM between BLASPHEMY and EXTREMISM. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue from the first and second reminders. If you couldn't receive any, please request for a copy before reading this one. Base on the narrations in the first and second reminders today, does this mean that blasphemy should be tolerated in every case? Free speech is not merely a human right, but rather it is a responsibility. The purpose of free speech is to facilitate discussion in search of truth and justice. Consequently, the general rule is that people are free to speak their minds respectfully, but speech that serves no purpose other than to slander, defame, offend, or incite to violence is not worthy of protection. Indeed, the Muslims have been prohibited from cursing other religions and even idols. However, the best way to counter false speech is by speaking the truth. The problem of blasphemy can usually be remedied by a...
SECOND REMINDER. Yaumul Ahad, 13th day of Shaabaan (29th April). ISLAM between BLASPHEMY and EXTREMISM. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue from the first reminder. If you couldn't receive it, please request for a copy before reading this one. Generally, the Prophet was commanded to endure any insult or mockery from his enemies which resulted from their bad character. Allah says: خُذِ الْعَفْوَ وَأْمُرْ بِالْعُرْفِ وَأَعْرِضْ عَنِ الْجَاهِلِينَ Show forgiveness, enjoin what is good, and turn away from the ignorant. Quran 7:199. Abdullah ibn Zubair explained this verse, saying: أُمِرَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنْ يَأْخُذَ الْعَفْوَ مِنْ أَخْلاَقِ النَّاسِ The Prophet was commanded to forgive the people’s bad character. Sunan Abu Dawud 4787. There are many recorded incidents in the life of the Prophet in which he was mocked, defamed, and even physically attacked for his faith in Islam, but despite this abuse the Prophet responded with patience, forb...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaumul Ahad, 13th day of Shaabaan (29th April). ISLAM between BLASPHEMY and EXTREMISM. This is a sensitive topic so please be patient with the length and read through for ALLAH sake before jumping into typing aameen. I'm taken only your 2 minutes this morning to go through this be-iznilLah. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. The general answer to blasphemy as commanded in the Quran is to respond with patience, beautiful preaching, and graceful avoidance. The Quran records the fact that the Prophet was called a “sorcerer,” a “madman,” and a “liar,” yet ALLAH commanded him to be patient and to increase his acts of worship. ALLAH says: وَاصْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَقُولُونَ وَاهْجُرْهُمْ هَجْرًا جَمِيلًا Be patient over what they say and avoid them with gracious avoidance. Qur'an 73:10. So be patient over what they say and exalt with the praises of yo...
THIRD REMINDER. Yaum Al-Sabt, 12th day of Shaãban (28th April)._CHARMS, TALISMANS, and AMULETS in ISLAM. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue from the first/second Reminders, please read them before this one and request for a copy if you couldn't receive any of the two. As for amulets which do not contain anything but verses from the Quran or the names and attributes of ALLAH the Exalted, there are different opinions. The Hanafi, Maliki, and Shafi’ee scholars as well as a narration from Ahmad incline towards the permissibility of that. It is the apparent meaning of what is narrated from our mother Aisha may Allah be pleased with her and is likewise the opinion of Abdullah ibn Amr. They interpreted the narration that spells, amulets, and charms are idolatry to mean only amulets within which is idolatry. Another narration from Ahmad forbids amulets in general and it is the apparent meaning of the statement of Hudhaifa, Uqbah ibn Amir, and Ibn Hakeem as well as Ibn M...
SECOND REMINDER. Yaum Al-Sabt, 12th day of Shaãban (28th April). CHARMS, TALISMANS, and AMULETS in ISLAM. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue from the first Reminder, please read it before this one and request for a copy if you couldn't receive it. Abdullah ibn Mas’ud may Allah be pleased with him reported: The Messenger of ALLAH, peace and blessings be upon him, said: إِنَّ الرُّقَى وَالتَّمَائِمَ وَالتِّوَلَةَ شِرْكٌ Verily, spells, amulets, and charms are acts of idolatry. Sunan Abu Dawud 3883. The Prophet has strongly forbidden us from using amulets and charms as a means of seeking blessings, warning that those who do so expose themselves to punishment from ALLAH. The Messenger of ALLAH, peace and blessings be upon him, said: مَنْ تَعَلَّقَ تَمِيمَةً فَلَا أَتَمَّ اللَّهُ لَهُ وَمَنْ تَعَلَّقَ وَدَعَةً فَلَا وَدَعَ اللَّهُ لَهُ Whoever hangs an amulet around his neck, then ALLAH will not fulfill his wishes. Whoever hangs a seashell as a charm, then ALLAH wil...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaum Al-Sabt, 13th day of Shaãban (28th April). CHARMS, TALISMANS, and AMULETS in ISLAM. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. The issue of wearing amulets and good luck charms is important to understand for a Muslim to implement the teachings of monotheism (tawheed) in his or her daily life. Many cultures have practices in which they wear accessories or seek blessings from objects, believing that these objects can ward off evil. Such practices contradict the correct understanding of the attributes of ALLAH, as only ALLAH has the absolute power to bring benefit and protect from harm. ALLAH says: قُل لَّا أَمْلِكُ لِنَفْسِي ضَرًّا وَلَا نَفْعًا إِلَّا مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ Say: I have no power at all for myself to harm or benefit except as ALLAH wills. Surat Yunus 10:49. And ALLAH says again: وَلَا تَدْعُ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ مَا لَا يَنفَعُكَ وَلَا يَضُرُّكَ ۖ فَإِن فَعَلْتَ فَإِنَّكَ إِذًا مِّنَ الظَّالِمِينَ Do not invoke besides Allah that which neither benefits you nor harms ...
THIRD REMINDER. Yaumul Jumuat, 11th day of Shaãban (27th April). JIHAAD AGAINST THE SOUL FIRST NOT INNOCENT PEOPLE. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue from the first/second Reminder, please request for a copy if you missed any. Great scholars of Islam wrote pages and pages about the jihad against the soul and methods of purifying the heart, such as Ibn Al-Jawzi, Ibn Al-Qayyim, and Abu Hamid Al-Ghazali. Scholars often referred to this spiritual struggle as the “greater jihad,” because it takes precedence over any outward physical struggle we endure. Jihad of the soul against desire is the foundation of jihad against unbelievers and hypocrites, for a Muslim cannot wage jihad against them unless he has first waged jihad against his soul and desires before he goes out...
SECOND REMINDER. Yaumul Jumuat, 11th day of Shaãban (27th April). JIHAAD AGAINST THE SOUL FIRST NOT INNOCENT PEOPLE. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue from the first Reminder, please request for a copy if you missed it. ALLAH tells us in several verses that those who purify their hearts from spiritual diseases will enter Paradise. In fact, no one will succeed in the Hereafter unless they approach ALLAH with a clean heart. ALLAH says: قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن زَكَّاهَا وَقَدْ خَابَ مَن دَسَّاهَا He has succeeded who purifies the soul, and he has failed who corrupts the soul. Surat Ash-Shams 91:9-10. And ALLAH says: يَوْمَ لَا يَنفَعُ مَالٌ وَلَا بَنُونَ إِلَّا مَنْ أَتَى اللَّهَ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِيمٍ It will be a day when there will be no benefit in wealth or children, but only in one who comes to ALLAH with a pure heart. Surat Ash-Shu’ara 26:88-89. This jihad to purify the soul involves struggling against greed for worldly pleasures, hypocrisy and insincerity, hatred and envy,...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaumul Jumuat, 11th day of Shaãban (27th April). JIHAAD AGAINST THE SOUL FIRST NOT INNOCENT PEOPLE. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. The most important battle a Muslim needs to fight is the battle within himself against sinful desires (JIHAAD an-nafs). This is a struggle, a jihaad in the way of ALLAH, in which all of us need to participate. ALLAH tells us the sinful desires within ourselves must be controlled and submitted to HIS will, and whoever does so will enter Paradise. As for him who fears to stand before his Lord and he restrained himself from his desires, then Paradise will be his refuge. Surat An-Naziat 79:40. For this reason, the Prophet declared that the true mujahid who wages jihad in the cause of Allah is the one who wages jihad against himself. Fadalah ibn Ubaid reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: الْ...
THIRD REMINDER. Yaum Al-Khamis, 10thday of Shaabaan. REASON, LOGIC, and SCIENCE in ISLAM. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue from the first and second reminders, if you missed any please request for a copy; Sheikh Ibn Taymiyyah writes: Reason is a requirement for acquiring knowledge and performing righteous deeds, through which knowledge and deeds are perfected, but it is not enough on its own. Rather, it is a faculty of the soul and an ability like the ability within the eye to see. If it is connected with the light of faith and the Quran, then it is like the eye receiving the light of the sun and torch. If it is left to itself, it cannot gain insight into matters that it cannot know alone… Thus, the circumstances resulting from the denial of reason are defective, and ideas that contradict reason are false. Majmūʻ al-Fatāwá 3/338. And he also writes: Every reliable narration from the Prophet is the truth and confirms one another. It agrees with the natural insti...
SECOND REMINDER. Yaum Al-Khamis, 10thday of Shaabaan. REASON, LOGIC, and SCIENCE in ISLAM. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Reason (al-‘aql), the ALLAH-GIVEN ABILITY to ACQUIRE KNOWLEDGE and RECOGNIZE TRUTH, has been assigned an exalted status in Islam. Rational thought and the resultant disciplines of logic and science are essential for understanding the divine revelation and its relationship to the natural world. In contrast, indulgence in irrationality and unreasonable thinking is a means of disgrace, violence, and destruction. It is by reason that we may know with certainty that ALLAH created the world and has subjected its nature to universal laws. Allah says: Verily, in the creation of the heavens and earth, and the alternation of the night and the day, and the ships which sail through the sea with benefits for people, and what Allah has sent down from the heavens of rain, giving life thereby to the earth after its lifelessness and dispersing therein every creature, and in His ...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaum Al-Khamis, 10thday of Shaabaan. PREGNANT AND BREASTFEEDING WOMEN IN RELATION TO FASTING IN RAMADAN. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. First of all, let me remind all that, a husband CANNOT fast to cover his wife's missed Ramadan fastings. With regards to Breastfeeding mothers and also pregnant women, two scenarios may apply:  1. If the woman is not affected by fasting, and fasting is not too difficult for her, and she does not fear for her child, then she is obliged to fast, and it is not permissible for her not to fast.  2. If the woman fears for herself or her child because of fasting, and fasting is difficult for her, then she is allowed not to fast, but she has to make up the days that she does not fast after Ramadan.  In this situation it is better for her not to fast, and it is makrooh or descouraged for her to fast. Some of the scholars stated that if she fears for her child, it is obligatory for her not to fast and it is haraam for her to fast.   A...
THIRD REMINDER. Yaumu Ar-Raaba'a, 9th day of Shaãban (25th April). ZINA (FORNICATION) IS A MAJOR SIN AND SHAMEFUL ACT, STOP IT AND AVOID IT BEFORE RAMADAN. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem Please read through the first & second Reminders before reading this one. If you couldn't receive your share of any of them, please request me to share it to you in shaa Allah. Another serious result of zina (fornication) is that, the fornicator is no longer regarded as a believer or a Muslim when you die in this act without been able to repent or seek forgiveness, as it was narrated in authentic narration that the Prophet (Peace be upon him) said: “The adulterer at the time when he is committing adultery is not a believer.” in another narrations, anyone in an act of commuting a sin is not a believer so imagine dying in it. ALLAH has forbidden Paradise to everyone who is khabeeth (bad, evil); rather He has made it an abode for the good, and no one but good people will enter it. ALLA...
SECOND REMINDER. Yaumu Ar-Raaba'a, 9th day of Shaãban (25th April). ZINA (FORNICATION) IS A MAJOR SIN AND SHAMEFUL ACT, STOP IT AND AVOID IT BEFORE RAMADAN. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem Please read through the first Reminder before reading this one. If you couldn't receive your share, please request me to share it to you in shaa Allah. If you truly want any favors from ALLAH, the only one free from any imperfections, then please stop committing zina bcs ALLAH says in Quran 13:11 to the nearest meaning that HE will not change the bad situation of anyone till the person change his/ her bad ways that’s committing of sins including zina, one of the mothers of all sins. Another result of zina is the wrath of the Lord(ALLAH) due to HIS sacred limits being transgressed and the sanctity of the family being violated. If a man were to do that to some king, he would punish him in the worst manner. Another result is darkness of the face, and depression and self-hatred, which are ...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaumu Ar-Raaba'a, 9th day of Shaãban (25th April). ZINA (FORMICATION) IS A MAJOR SIN AND SHAMEFUL ACT, STOP IT AND AVOID IT BEFORE RAMADAN. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem Unfortunately, some are asking if they can use the support of their boy/girlfriends to fast. SubhaanAllah. The question is even invalid let's fear ALLAH my dear brothers and sisters. Islam is a way of life that must go with the rules of the creator (ALLAH). ALLAH, the Almighty God, commands in explicit and unequivocal words: "And come NOT NEAR unto ZINA. Lo! it is an abomination and an EVIL way" (Quran 17: 32). Thus, Islam does not only prohibit illicit sex (Zina), but also closes all the doors, avenues and means leading to it. This is achieved by prohibiting every step and means leading to stimulating desires, opening ways for illicit sexual relations between men and women, and promoting indecency and obscenity. Zina causes lots of mess in life including lack of religious com...
THIRD REMINDER. Yaumu Al-thalaatha, 8th day of Shaabaan (Tuesday, 24th April). Question: As a Muslim convert and smoker, I find it difficult if not impossible to fast. I haven't been successful to fast a single day in my life. I need advice please. Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. In response to this question, One of the purposes of the practice of fasting in Islam is to help us overcome our destructive habits and create positive and life-enhancing habits and thus prepare us to face the challenges of life. Therefore, if you were to fast and turn to Allah for help, you can beat your smoking and other habits. Many people have overcome such unhealthy habits through fasting; so many of them have quit smoking cold turkey during the month of Ramadhan after having addicted to it for ten to twenty years or even more; they have never turned back. You can also do the same, but before doing that you must gather enough courage and inner strength by talking to yourself about the negative aspec...
SECOND REMINDER. Yaumu Al-thalaatha, 8th day of Shaabaan (Tuesday, 24th April). IS THE PRE-DAWN MEAL IN RAMADAN, THE SAHUUR COMPULSORY. Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. I wouldn't say it's compulsory but will want to add that we should not intentionally decide not to wake up for it due to the blessings in it. Abu Sa'eed al-Khudree RA, said that the Messenger (S) said: "Eating the Sahuur is blessed. Do not neglect it even if you take a gulp of water, so let's all strive to wakeup and eat something for the fasting, do not eat too stomach full please. Also note that intentionally stopping what Allah and HIS MESSENGER has recommended is an act of disobedience as such sinful so let's not act ignorantly and strive to obey all the rules of the fasting. You should be asking questions to be sure of whatever you do in this coming blessed month. May Allah answer our dua as we remember others. May Allah heal all our sick brothers and sisters and all those facing any dif...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaumu Al-thalaatha, 8th day of Shaabaan (Tuesday, 24th April). ARE YOU READY FOR RAMADHAN?. Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. AlhamdulilLah for granting us another day towards Ramadhan. I'm very hopeful everyone reading this remind have already activated the Ramadan mood preparing for this greatest visitor of the year. Whenever you are asked this question ARE YOU READY FOR RAMADAN?, please say IN SHAA ALLAH Or BE-IZNILLAH (By Allah will of ALLAH) not YES bcs you might not be part of Ramadhan. ALLAH dislike it when we say YES as if we have assurance from HIM to be able to do what we intend doing without HIS permission. Always say in shaa Allah and pray for good health and prosperity to be able to be part bcs hundreds or even thousands died yesterday, some will go today, some tomorrow etc and it could be me or you so let's seek ALLAH'S mercy to be part of Ramadhan. The month of Ramadan is a great month. It is the month in which ALLAH revealed the Quran as a g...
THIRD EVENING. Yaumul Ithnayn, 7th day of Sha'abaan (Monday, 23rd April). THE REALITY OF SINS continues. Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Imam Abu Hanifa (rahimahullaah) stated: When somebody praises you, then in reality they are praising ALLAH (SWT). For it is due to the Mercy of ALLAH (SWT) that he has kept your sins hidden from the eyes of people. If sins had a stench, then no-one would even come near you! When you commit a sin, you take great care of the small children that may be around, yet you have no thought of ALLAH Most High!? When committing a sin you close all those doors from which people may not be able to see you. However, you cannot close that door from which ALLAH is always watching you. A Tabiee (RAH) is recorded as saying: I have experienced, that whenever I happen to disobey any order of Allah (SWT) I get the recompense of disobedience from my wife, children, servants and even the animals I own. Allah (SWT) says: Whatever of misfortune befalls you, it is becau...
SECOND REMINDER. FIRST REMINDER: Yaumul Ithnayn, 7th day of Sha'abaan (Monday, 23rd April). THE REALITY OF SINS. Bismillhir Rahmaanir Raheem. ALLAH (swt) says: “(O Mankind!) Leave sins, apparent and hidden. Verily, those who commit sins will get due recompense for that which they commit.” (Holy Quran, 6:120). In the above verse, ALLAH (SWT) has ordered that Mankind should abstain from all types of sins. (Tafsir Ibn Kathir). It is further mentioned, that no action should be performed which is against the pleasure of ALLAH (SWT). Nor should there be any doubts regarding the Deen of ALLAH(SWT), otherwise it will be regarded as a sins. Sins are those actions which are performed against the criteria of the HOLY QURAN and Sunnah. The example of a sin, is like that of a cancer. When cancer inflicts a body part, that part of the body is singled out and may need to be removed completely from the body. This is done to prevent the fatal spread of the cancer throughout the whole body. The...
FIRST REMINDER: Yaumul Ithnayn, 7th day of Sha'abaan (Monday, 23rd April). WHY ARE YOU ONLINE? TO LEARN YOUR DEEN TO PLEASE ALLAH OR TO PLEASE SATAN? Please read through and share to others for Allah sake. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. For some time now, Ive noticed how sheitan is deviating a lot of our brothers and sisters into act of disobedience to ALLAH. Among the worse is to see Muslims watching and sharing pornographic images, videos unnecessary jokes into Islamic groups on facebook in particular. WHY? How can you be part of these satanic activities? Why are you sharing it to others if you decided to disobey Allah? For Allah sake, if you dont have anything good to do online, please close your facebook account thats better because facebook is now a junkle of the beast and they are hunting our eemaan down. Imagine you dying today and having those filthy things on your page in your grave, so please stay away from facebook and other social networks if you are not using it to...
THIRD REMINDER. Yaum Al-Ahad 6th day of Shaãban. OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH OUR FAMILIES. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem.   Regardless of how bad our relatives are especially our parents, children etc. We must not break ties with them. ALLAH forbids us to break family ties. No matter how hard it might seem to keep familial relationships going, it's very important that we try our best to maintain them. Shaitan loves it when we break our ties so let's not please the shaitan. Watch your words. Just as our bodies are accountable on us, our words are also accountable. We have to protect our speech as best as we can. Most of the hard/ difficult life today in every Muslim community today is due to the curses by our own parents especially our mothers due to lack of Islamic knowledge and fear of ALLAH. With little issues, we only utter curses on our children. No backbiting for it is like eating the flesh of a dead brother! No creating fitnah or tarnishing another person's character. N...
SECOND REMINDER. Yaum Al-Ahad 6th day of Shaãban. OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH OUR FAMILIES. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem.   Let's continue from the first Reminder; I will first quote some of the Qur'anic verses about our parents. ALLAH says; "And We (WE is not plural in the Qur'an but ALLAH speaking in Authoritative manner, which English has no proper word to translate from the Arabic word used aside WE) have enjoined on man (to be good) to his parents. In travail upon travail did his mother bear him, and in two years was his weaning. Show gratitude to ME (If we was plural, he Allah will use US here not ME isn't it) and to your parents; to ME is your final goal." (Quran 31:14). According to the above verse, gratitude to ALLAH/ GOD and to parents go hand in hand. Gratitude to ALLAH is incomplete without showing gratitude to one's parents. Since being grateful to ALLAH is a form of ibadah (worship) which earns heavenly rewards, it can therefore be said that bei...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaum Al-Ahad 6th day of Shaãban. OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH OUR FAMILIES. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem.   We all know the important role our parents play in our lives as Muslims particularly our mother. Our mothers go through pains and sufferings during pregnancy and go through sleepless nights. It becomes worse during labour. There is nothing on earth that you can do as a child to repay your mum for that even if you carry her on foot to hajj, you've done nothing in reciprocating her pains and sufferings. Our parents as a team provided for all our needs as infants. They may have made lots of errors or mistakes in our upbringing but we cannot just ignore the pains of pregnancy and Labour. Our indebtedness to our parents is so immense that it is not possible to repay it fully. In lieu of this, it becomes obligatory for us to show the utmost kindness, respect, and obedience to our parents. The position of parents, and the mutual obligations and responsibilities, have be...
THIRD REMINDER: Yaum Al-Sabt, 5th day of Shaãban (21st April). WHY SHOULD I FOLLOW ISLAM INSTEAD OF CHRISTIANITY?. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem. The need for different revelations at different times and for different people is justified by means of the following: Mankind has gone through enormous development through the ages physically, mentally and spiritually, that there was always the need for various revelations at different times and for different peoples. Although the various revelations are united in message and truth before Quran but bcs of satanic influences, previous scriptures were corrupted and idol worship became rampant including even later Christians started to worship in trinity and association of Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) with Allah. For that, there becomes a necessity for mankind to receive another revelation that puts them back on track with God's law that has been badly corrupted. However, after the revelation of the Quran, there became no need for...
SECOND REMINDER. Yaum Al-Sabt, 5th day of Shaãban (21st April). WHY SHOULD I FOLLOW ISLAM INSTEAD OF CHRISTIANITY?. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem. We Muslims have something that offers the clearest proof of all as to why Islam is the only best way of life for mankind. *The Holy Quran*. There is no other book like it anywhere on earth. It is absolutely perfect in the Arabic language. It has no mistakes in grammar, meanings or context. The scientific evidences are well known around the entire world, even amongst non-Muslim scholars. Predictions in the Quran have come true; and its teachings are clearly for all people, all places and all times. Only ignorance can try find errors or mistakes in the QUR'AN. *How can the Almighty Allah make any mistake*? Surprisingly enough, the Quran itself provides us with the test of authenticity and offers challenges against itself to prove its veracity. Allah tells us in the Quran: "Haven't the unbelievers considered if this was from oth...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaum Al-Sabt, 5th day of Shaãban (21st April). WHY SHOULD I FOLLOW ISLAM INSTEAD OF CHRISTIANITY?. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem. This is a reframed question I had this morning that made me to write this as the first Reminder today. First of all, I will try to use logic and wisdom in trying to get Christians to understand why mankind must follow only ISLAM not Christianity as ALLAH ordered as to use knowledge, wisdom and beautiful preaching in calling others to Islam. The best scenario for this question is like political parties in any country say Ghana between NPP and NDC. Both maybe good for governance, both are experienced in governance, you may still follow NDC but that's irrelevant as to certain rules and regulations whilst NPP is on power. Its wise to Follow what NPP government introduces for your survival in terms of this earth. If you claim you are NDC so you are not going to work under NPP government, then you are doomed for failure isn't it?. Chris...
THIRD REMINDER. Yaumul Jumuat 4th day of Shaãban (Friday 20th April). Let me support my second reminder with this hadith. Share to others please. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem. It was narrated from Zaynab the wife of ‘Abd-Allaah ibn Mas’ood from ‘Abd-Allaah that he said: “I heard the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say, ‘Non Islamic Spells (ruqyah), amulets and love-charms are shirk.” I said, “Why do you say this? By Allaah, my eye was weeping with a discharge and I kept going to So and so, the Jew, who did a spell for me. When he did the spell, it calmed down.” ‘Abd-Allaah said: “That was just the work of the Shaytaan who was picking it with his hand, and when (the Jew) uttered the spell, he stopped. All you needed to do was to say as the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to say: ‘Adhhib il-ba’s Rabb al-naas ishfi anta al-Shaafi laa shifaa’a illa shifaa’uka shifaa’an laa yughaadiru saqaman (Remove the harm, O Lord of...
SECOND REMINDER: Yaumul Jumuat 4th day of Shaãban (Friday 20th April). Visiting Non-Muslims or so called Mallams for help is shirk and risky to our eemaan, lets stop it and rely only on Allah through the teachings of the Prophet. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Please note that if Allah decide not to help us, none else can help us. Nothing happens even if evil jinn attacks except by the permission of Allah as such HE alone can help us so why go to men who uses evil jinns in healing which goes against ALLAH. Note that ALLAH does not accept any other religion other than Islam as such if Muslim scholars fail through dua then rely only on ALLAH. Allah the Most Exalted said: "This day have I perfected your religion for you, completed My favor upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion". (Surah Al-Ma'idah 5:3). "If anyone desires a religion other than Islam (submission to Allah) never will It be accepted of Him" (Surah Aal'imraan 3:85). So if All...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaumul Jumuat 4th day of Shaãban (Friday 20th April). OUR MINI-EID REMINDER. Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. AlhamdulilLah for HIS guidance and blessings and granting us another Eid day of the week. First, we should strive to prepare for the jumuat by cutting our nails, clearing our private parts, performing ghusul(pure Islamic bath) as follows; just make up your mind that you are going to take your ghusul for jumuat that’s all. You can first take your normal bath to clean any dirt or first wash ur private parts then make full wuduu, then pour water from your head to wash your right side, then the left side. Make sure your entire body is then washed properly including your mouth and nose etc. After that recite the normal dua we do after wuduu when you come out of the bathroom. If you don't know how please ask me. This same ghusul should be performed after sunnah with your partner, after women's monthly cycle etc. As our beloved Messenger of Allah also recommend...
THIRD REMINDER. Yaum Al-Khamis 3rd day of Shaãban (Thursday 19th April). ARE YOU PREPARING OR PREPARED FOR THE GREAT YEARLY VISITOR (RAMADAN)?. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue from the second reminder; Rejoicing at the approach of the blessed month is one of the great blessings that ALLAAH bestows upon His Muslim slave, because Ramadaan is one of the occasions of good in which the gates of Paradise are opened and the gates of Hell are closed. It is the month of the Qur’aan and of decisive battles in the history of our religion.  ALLAAH says:  “Say: ‘In the Bounty of Allaah, and in His Mercy (i.e. Islam and the Qur’aan); —therein let them rejoice.’ That is better than what (the wealth) they amass” [Yoonus 10:58]. Seeking knowledge in order to be able to follow the rulings on fasting and to understand the virtues of Ramadaan Should be our priority.  Abu Bakr al-Balkhi said: The month of Rajab is the month for planting, the month of Sha’baan is the month of irrigati...
SECOND REMINDER. Yaum Al-Khamis 3rd day of Shaãban (Thursday 19th April). ARE YOU PREPARING OR PREPARED FOR THE GREAT YEARLY VISITOR (RAMADAN)?. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Many of us are aware of the real nature of fasting in the month of Ramadaan, so we start to prepare from Sha’baan, and some of us even start before that. Among the best ways of preparing for the month of Ramadaan are:  Sincere repentance; This is obligatory at all times, but because of the approach of a great and blessed month, it is even more important to hasten to repent from sins between you and your Lord, and between you and other people by giving them their rights, so that when the blessed month begins you may busy yourself with acts of worship with a clean heart and peace of mind. ALLAAH says:  “And all of you beg ALLAAH to forgive you all, O believers, that you may be successful”[al-Noor 24:31]. It was narrated from al-Agharr ibn Yasaar (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and bless...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaum Al-Khamis 3rd day of Shaãban (Thursday 19th April). WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF FASTING VOLUNTARILY, SUNNAH or FARD FASTING? Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. The purpose of fasting is not just physical training to endure hunger, thirst and exhaustion to appreciate what the less privileged people go through; it is also disciplining the ego to relinquish the loved for the sake of the beloved. The loved are the desires of eating, drinking, sexual activities etc. While the beloved is ALLAH, the Exalted. Hence, it is imperative to keep in mind when we observe fasting that we do so only for the sake of ALLAH. It becomes imperative on us to try our best to observe the rites that reflect our obedience to ALLAH such as the remembrance of ALLAH, reading the Qur'an, optional prayers, charitable deed and donations, good manners etc. When a Muslim maintains this attitude throughout the year, we will definitely become better Muslims. Let's strive to fast regularly each week ...
THIRD REMINDER: Yaumu Al-Raaba'a, 2nd day of Shaãban (18th April). CALLING UPON ALLAH IN DUA (supplication). Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. ALLAH the most compassionate says in the Holy Quran, "Call on Me. I will answer your prayer, but those who are too arrogant to serve ME will surely find themselves humiliated in Hell" (40:60). Our mother Aaisha radhiAllaahu anha said, "No believer makes Dua and it is wasted. Either it is granted here in this world or deposited for him in the Hereafter as long as he does not get frustrated." "The supplication that gets the quickest answer is the one made by one Muslim for another in his absence." [Abu Daw'ud and Tirmidhi]. So let's pray for others more so that ALLAH will make others pray for us. We ask ALLAH to answer our dua and purify our hearts from disobedience. Aameen.
SECOND REMINDER: Yaumu Al-Raaba'a, 2nd day of Shaãban (18th April). SUFFERING MAY BE Blessings in Disguise. Say Alhamdulillah in all situations. Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. There are two categories of miseries and troubles in this world. The first category are those that are a means of punishment and torture from Allah. Punishment is reserved for the Hereafter, but Allah inflicts token of punishments on the sinners so that they may give up their sins and take to piety and righteousness. The second category of troubles are those that Allah uses to elevate a man’s status and granting him reward and recompense in return for his troubles and worries suffered in this world. Troubles are a punishment if a Muslim does not turn his attention to Allah, he resorts to all the worldly means and discards his salaah. He does not turn to Allah in repentance and with supplications for relief but instead curses his destiny. Troubles are a mercy from Allah if a Muslim repents to Allah, ackn...
FIRST REMINDER: Yaumu Al-Raaba'a, 2nd day of Shaãban (18th April). DON'T BLAME ANYONE OR QUESTION ALLAH'S DECISION ON YOUR LIFE. Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Before we remind each other about this topic, let's consider this scenario, A friend gives you an amount of money to keep for him and he can come for it anyday anytime which means it's not right to touch any of that money without his permission. Imagine he comes for his money today and you have his money for him, would you worry in anyway? would you mourn in any way? Would you ask why he is coming for his money? Certainly NO isn't it? ALLAH says; The dominion of the heavens and the earth belongs to ALLAH. HE creates whatever HE pleases. HE grants females to whomever HE pleases and males to whomever HE pleases , or grants them a mix of males and females, and causes whomever HE pleases to be barren. HE is All- Knowing, All-Powerful.(Quran 42 vrs 49-50). From the above verses we know that nothing happe...
THIRD REMINDER. Yaum Al-thalaatha, 1st day of Shaãban (17th of April). RULINGS ON DELAYING JAMAAT SALAAT TO SOLVE URGENT ISSUES. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's conclude on our topic today. As for delaying prayer until its time has ended without putting it together with the following prayer (if the two prayers can be put together), that is not permissible. Rather what should be done is to offer the prayer on time; in this case the person may forego praying in congregation in the mosque, and offer the prayer with those whom he is seeking to reconcile, to ensure that the meeting will not end before the people have been reconciled. Reconciliation between two people or group of people is a serious act of worship and as Muslims, we should never allow Satan to create any anger between us especially against our parents and relatives. Never sleep without forgiving someone who has hurt you, call/text etc to say I've forgiven you for ALLAH sake or please forgive me for ALLAH sak...
SECOND REMINDER. Yaum Al-thalaatha, 1st day of Shaãban (17th of April). RULINGS ON DELAYING JAMAAT SALAAT TO SOLVE URGENT ISSUES. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue from the first Reminder; From the tradition of the prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam, we can combine zuhur to Asr preferably at Asr time incase we are in urgent situation at zuhur time. Similarly we can delay magrib to combine it with Isha at Isha time. These combination is permissible to help us avoid praying before time as any prayer prayed before it's time is invalid regardless of the excuse. We should never intentionally delay any salaat with intention to combine with the other without legitimate reasons as we are accountable for any decisions we make in our lives. To be continued in Shaa ALLAH. May Allah keep guiding us all and increases us in beneficial knowledge of Islam. Aameen.
FIRST REMINDER. Yaum Al-thalaatha, 1st day of Shaãban (17th of April). RULINGS ON DELAYING JAMAAT SALAAT TO SOLVE URGENT ISSUES. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Islam is a way of life that does not burden any servant of Allah beyond our control. Our learned Imams has said that If a Muslim is trying to bring about reconciliation between two people or two groups, and the time for prayer comes, and he fears that if he goes to pray the people may disperse without reconciliation being achieved, then there is no blame on him if he delays offering prayer in congregation with the first congregation, then prays in congregation after that with the people, or by himself if he is not able to pray in congregation. That is a valid excuse for not offering the prayer in congregation or delaying it. Al-Bukhaari (2690) and Muslim (421) narrated from Sahl ibn Sa‘d (may Allah be pleased with him) that there was a dispute among some people from Banu ‘Amr ibn ‘Awf, so the Messenger of Allah (blessings an...
THIRD REMINDER. Yaum Al-Ithnayn, 30th day of RAJAB (Monday 16th April). PRAYING FOR OUR ENEMIES OR OUR OPPRESSORS. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's conclude on our topic today; In another story, the Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam was rejected by the people of Al-Ṭā’if. They mocked him and ran him out of the city whilst pelting him with stones, to the point that blood soaked his sandals. In this moment, ALLAH sent to the Angel of the Mountains to him with a choice: If he desired, he could overturn the mountains upon the entire city and destroy all of its inhabitants. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, refused the request, saying: بَلْ أَرْجُو أَنْ يُخْرِجَ اللَّهُ مِنْ أَصْلاَبِهِمْ مَنْ يَعْبُدُ اللَّهَ وَحْدَهُ لاَ يُشْرِكُ بِهِ شَيْئًا ‏‏‏ No, rather I hope that ALLAH will bring from their descendants people who will worship ALLAH alone without associating partners with him. Saheeh Bukhari and Muslim. When we refuse to supplicate and pray for the benefi...
SECOND REMINDER. Yaum Al-Ithnayn, 30th day of RAJAB (Monday 16th April). PRAYING FOR OUR ENEMIES OR OUR OPPRESSORS. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue from the first reminder; On several occasions, the companions asked the Prophet to supplicate against the enemies of Islam, the very same people who threatened them, hurt them, and caused great suffering. He refused to condemn his enemies to the Hellfire in the hope that one day they might see the light and become muslims. Abu Huraira reported: At-Tufail came with his companions and they said, “O Messenger of Allah, the tribe of Daws has disbelieved and rejected you, so pray to Allah against them.” And it was said, “May the tribe of Daws be destroyed!” The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: اللَّهُمَّ اهْدِ دَوْسًا وَائْتِ بِهِمْ O Allah, guide the tribe of Daws and bring them to me. Saheeh Bukhari 4131. Abu Huraira reported: It was said, “O Messenger of Allah, pray against the idolaters!” The Messenger o...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaum Al-Ithnayn, 30th day of RAJAB (Monday 16th April). PRAYING FOR OUR ENEMIES OR OUR OPPRESSORS. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. It was the practice of the Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaiyhi wassallam to supplicate and pray to ALLAH to guide his enemies of Islam and to benefit them in the Hereafter. Islam teaches us to love for others what we love for ourselves. Each one of us wants to be guided and, therefore, we should ask ALLAH to guide others even if they are unbelievers, sinners, or oppressors. Islam is a beautiful religion and only teaches what's right. We should supplicate for guidance and forgiveness for people in general. It is the essence of ALLAH to be forgiving and mericful, and the Angels roam the earth seeking forgiveness for everyone upon it. By expressing mercy and forgiveness in our supplications, we fulfill Allah’s plan for the creation. Allah says: وَالْمَلَائِكَةُ يُسَبِّحُونَ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّهِمْ وَيَسْتَغْفِرُونَ لِمَن فِي الْأَرْضِ ۗ أَل...
THIRD REMINDER. Yaumul Ahad, 29th day of RAJAB (Sunday, 15th April). ESSENTIAL QUALITIES OF THE ATHAN(CALL FOR PRAYERS). BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Even though what the Minister of Ghana suggested about stopping the Athan is wrong, some of our reactions are even worse and unacceptable for Muslims to insult and curse others even if they insult us. Let's teach them the reason and importance of the Athan. First of all, it’s an invitation towards meeting with ALLAH, our CREATOR, i.e. SALAAH. It is more useful and effective way of encouraging others towards veneration of the Almighty as compared to ringing of bells and blowing horns which only cause noise. On the other hand, Adhan sounds highly meaningful as it contains language of glorifying the Lord and His Messenger. Saying “Allah is the Greatest” is to testify the Ultimate Power of the Creator of the Universe, Who controls every phenomenon happening in this world and heavens. Second phrase “There is none worthy of worship...
SECOND REMINDER. Yaumul Ahad, 29th day of RAJAB (Sunday, 15th April). RELIGIOUS TOLERANCE IN ISLAM. Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue from the first reminder; When the pagan Arabs reacted to the message of the Prophet with extreme hatred he showed love and kindness. The following examples from the life of the Prophet show us how we should react when faced with hatred. We can see one of the most patient and tolerant aspects of the Prophet's character in the incident of an old woman who made a habit of throwing trash in the way of the Holy Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam whenever he passed by her house. The story related about this incident, mentions a neighbor of the Prophet that tried her best to irritate him by throwing garbage in his way every day. One day, when he walked out of his home there was no garbage. This made the Prophet inquire about the old woman and he came to know that she was sick. The Prophet went to visit her to offer any assistan...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaumul Ahad, 29th day of RAJAB (Sunday, 15th April). RELIGIOUS TOLERANCE IN ISLAM. Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Our beloved Prophet Mohammed sallallahu alaihi wasallam to mankind, faced much difficulty and opposition in his own birth place, the city of Mecca. He was eventually forced to migrate to Medina. But in spite of all the opposition and even physical torture that he himself and his followers suffered in Mecca, Prophet Muhammad always approached the unbelievers of Mecca with tolerance. At one stage of his mission, the Prophet read to them a short chapter from the revelation: “O you who do not believe! I worship not what you worship, and you are not worshipping what I worship; nor am 1 worshipping what you worship; neither -art you worshipping what I worship. Therefore, to you your religion; and to me my religion!” (chap. 109). When Prophet Muhammad migrated to Medina, he found that besides those who had accepted Islam, there was a large Jewish community in t...
