FIRST REMINDER. Yaum Al-thalaatha 15th day of Shaabaan (Tuesday 1st May). IS PRAYING TAHIYYATUL MASJID AN OBLIGATION or A RECOMMENDATION? TAHIYYATUL MASJID means to greet the masjid by offering two Sunnah rakaats whenever we enter into any masjid or Mosque which is popularly term as greeting the masjid. Scholars disagree whether praying two rakaats of prayer when we enter the masjid to is an obligation (wajib) or a recommendation (mustahab). The primary evidence under discussion is the following narration: Abu Qatadah reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: إِذَا دَخَلَ أَحَدُكُمْ الْمَسْجِدَ فَلْيَرْكَعْ رَكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَجْلِسَ When one of you enters the mosque, then let him pray two rakaats before he sits down. Sahih Bukhari 433, Grade: Muttafaqun Alayhi. In another narration, the Prophet said: فَلَا يَجْلِسْ حَتَّى يَرْكَعَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ Let him not sit down until he prays two rakaats. Sahih Muslim 714, Grade: Sahih. Imam An-Nawawi comments on these traditions, saying: In this tradition is the recommendation to greet the mosque with two bowings of prayer and it is the prophetic tradition (sunnah) according to the consensus of the Muslims. It was narrated by Al-Qadi Iyad from Dawud and his companions that it is an obligation. In this is an indication that it is disapproved to sit without performing prayer and its disapproval is of a suggestive nature. Sahih Muslim. Scholars such as Al-Qadi Iyad and others who maintain that two bowings are an obligation take the order of the Prophet as a general command. Other scholars such as Imam Muslim and An-Nawawi maintain that two bowings are a recommendation and not an obligation. This reminder is to bring across the importance of this sunnah so let's just embrace it with passion and offer it whenever we enter the masjid for whatever reason. To be continued in shaa Allah. May ALLAH keep guiding us all and aid us to be among those who are blessed to meet Ramadan with good health. Aameen.

THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Al-Khamis. 25th day of RAJAB, 1444AH (Thursday 16th February. 2023). TOLERANCE WITH PEOPLE IN ISLAM. BismilLaah.  Tolerance (samah) is an important trait of a Muslim’s good character. We Muslims should be kind and gentle, patient with people, forgiving of bad character, and lenient whenever possible. The Prophet Mohammed Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam commanded us to avoid causing unnecessary difficulty and hardship in people’s lives and to inspire people with graceful speech. Make things easy and do not make things difficult. Give glad tidings and do not repel people. Cooperate with each other and do not become divided. Sahih Bukhari 2873, Grade: Muttafaqun Alayhi. This command is closely related to the need of a Muslim to control his or her anger. Unrestrained anger leads to numerous sins and bad deeds, so Muslims must temper their anger with patience, tolerance, and the ability to hold back harmful words. Teasing, mockery, insults to others et...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yawmul ahad, 17th day of Sha’abaan 1446AH, Sunday. 16th Feb. 2025). THE TRUE MEANINGS OF THE WORD DEEN continues. BismilLah.  ALLAH (Azza Wa Jal, The MIGHTY and the MAJESTIC) has sent HIS Messenger with the true deen for the purpose of ending the sovereignty of all false gods and granting us immense freedom so that we live as servants of none but the LORD of the UNIVERSE, no matter how much the idolaters and polytheists may dislike or oppose such a course. Thus, these three meanings of deen stand out: To acknowledge ALLAH as the ONLY LORD, MASTER and RULER. To obey and serve ONLY HIM. To be accountable to HIM, to fear only HIS punishment and to covet only HIS reward. Deen also includes obedience to ALLAH'S Messengers. The commandments of ALLAH Azzawajal have been given to human beings through HIS books and HIS Messengers. ALLAH Azzawajal says; Children of Aadam! If there should come to you Messengers from among you, who convey MY revelations unto you, ...

ALLAH says; 1. Successful indeed are the believers.  2. Those who offer their Salaat (prayers) with all solemnity and full submissiveness. 3. Those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts) 6. Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, for then, they are free from blame; etc ALLAH, the Most High, says “…for verily ALLAH is with those who believe.”[Al Qur’an 8:19] When ALLAH says that “HE is with the believers”, it means that the believers don’t need anyone else.
