THIRD REMINDER. Yaum Al-Khamis, 15th/16th day of Ramadhan. SOME RULES OF ITIKAAF. Please read the first two Reminders first. Request for copy if you missed any. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. A person should stay in a mosque for the duration of the I’tikaf (except for certain things as going out to ease yourself if the masjid has no toilet facilities). Our mother Aa’ishah may Allah be pleased with her reported that when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) observed I’tikaf, he did not enter the house except to relieve himself. Narrated by Muslim (297). Similarly, he or she also needs to eat and drink. If he does not have anyone who can bring him food and drink, then he may go out to get them if he needs to. For everything that he cannot do without and cannot do in the mosque, he may go out for that purpose, and that does not invalidate his I’tikaf, so long as he does not take a long time doing it and does not divert into any worldly gains. A person is prohibite...
SECOND REMINDER. Yaum Al-Khamis, 15th/16th day of Ramadhan. OUR TOPIC ON I'tikaf continues. Please read the first Reminder first. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. I’tikaaf is prescribed according to the Qur’aan and Sunnah and scholarly consensus. In the Qur’aan, ALLAAH says (to the nearest meaning): “and I commanded Ibraaheem (Abraham) and Ismaa’eel (Ishmael) that they should purify My House (the Ka‘bah at Makkah) for those who are circumambulating it, or staying (I’tikaaf), or bowing or prostrating themselves (there, in prayer)”[al-Baqarah 2:125]. Again Allah says; “And do not have sexual relations with them (your wives) while you are in I‘tikaaf (i.e. confining oneself in a mosque for prayers and invocations leaving the worldly activities) in the mosques” [al-Baqarah 2:187]. Undoubtedly i’tikaaf in the mosque is an act of worship, and (observing it) in Ramadaan is better than at other times. It is prescribed in Ramadaan and at other times. The basic principle is that i’t...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaum Al-Khamis, 15th/16th day of Ramadhan. SECULSION IN THE MOSQUE DURING RAMADAN, Al-I’tikaf. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Abdullah ibn Umar, may ALLAH be pleased with him, reported: The Messenger of ALLAH, peace and blessings be upon him, would seek seclusion (i’tikaf) in the mosque during the last ten nights of Ramadan. Sahih Bukhari 1921, Grade: Muttafaqun Alayhi Our mum Aishah, may ALLAH be pleased with her, reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to retreat in the mosque during the last ten nights of Ramadan until ALLAH the Exalted took him. His wives continued to observe this practice after him. Sahih Muslim 1172. Imam Ash-Shafi’ee, may ALLAH have mercy on him, said: Whoever desires to follow the example of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, should seek seclusion in the mosque during the last ten nights of Ramadan. Let him enter the mosque before the setting of the sun on the twenty first night. Al-Majmu An-Nawawi 501. May A...
THIRD REMINDER. Yaum Ar-Raaba'a 14th/15th day of Ramadan (Wednesday, 30th May). HOW DANGEROUS IS OUR TONGUE? BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Ibn `Umar (radiallahu anhuma) reported: The Messenger of Allah (salallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said, “Do not indulge in excessive talk except when remembering ALLAH. Excessive talking without the Remembrance of ALLAH hardens the heart; and those who are the farthest from ALLAH are those whose hearts are hard.” [At-Tirmidhi]. If one indulges in idle talk rather than the remembrance of ALLAH, his heart becomes hardened, which is a sign of being far from Allah’s Mercy. One should therefore occupy himself with the remembrance of ALLAH. If we observe it in our daily life, we see that Sometimes a person utters a good sentence which pleases an individual and he reforms himself or holds himself from doing something wrong. Such a sentence or utterance is highly rewarded by ALLAH. Similarly, sometime a person utters a mischievous sentence, the ruino...
SECOND REMINDER. Yaum Ar-Raaba'a 14th/15th day of Ramadan (Wednesday, 30th May). HOW DANGEROUS IS OUR TONGUE? BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Imam Ahmad may Allah be pleased with him mentioned an authentic Hadith in which the Messenger (sallallahu alaihi wa salaam) said: “A man may be so close to Paradise such that the distance between him and paradise is one derah (an arms length) and he speaks a word and he becomes distant from it further than between East and West” Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) reported that the Messenger (sallahu alaihi wa salaam) said:“From the good Islam of a man is that he leaves that which does not benefit him.” [Ahmad (4/132) – Tirmidhi, kitab az-zuhd, (7/51). ‘Abullah ibn ‘Amr (radi Allahu anhu) said that the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wa salaam) said: “Whoever keeps silent is saved.” [Sahih – narrated by Ahmad (2/159 – 177). To be continued in shaa Allah. May Allah protect our tongue 👅 from any backbiting and slandering. Aameen.
FIRST REMINDER. Yaum Ar-Raaba'a 14th/15th day of Ramadan (Wednesday, 30th May). HOW DANGEROUS IS OUR TONGUE? BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. It's very important to note that Ramadan is not about only avoiding eating, sexual relationship etc but equally and more importantly, protecting our fasting by speaking good words or remaining silence throughout the day bcs a single act of backbiting, slandering etc will automatically damage our fasting from achieving any rewards for it. Therefore, the servant must beware! We could invalidate all our fasting and prayer from just one gathering. There is no success for us unless we learn how to imprison our tongues from vain talk. ALLAH has placed this tongue of ours in a prison, it does not come out except when there is a need for it. You will find ninety percent of the time our tongues are not engaged in zikir. Rather we choose to continue with our vain talk, joking, laughing, backbiting and slandering. Imam Ahmad mentioned in his “Musna...
THIRD REMINDER. Yaum Al-thalaatha 13th/14th day of Ramadan. ZAKAAK ON AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Zakaat is obligatory on all grains and all produce that are measured by dry volume and stored. Example are dates and raisins. The nisaab is three hundred saa (300) or approximately 624 Kilograms. Different varieties of the same produce, such as dates will be weighed together to reach the nisaab. What is obligatory Concerning Grains and Produce (1) One tenth (al-ushr) of the produce is to be given from the produce of land that is naturally irrigated, such as by rain water only (2) One twentieth is to be given from the produce of the land that is irrigated by man-engineered means, such as by water from canals (and so forth) (3) Three quater of one tenth is to be given if the produce was partially irrigated naturally and partially irrigated by man-engineered means There is no zakat on vegetable and fruit but if they are for the purpose of trade. However, 2.5% of ...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaum Al-thalaatha 13th/14th day of Ramadan. HAVE YOU PAID YOUR ZAKAAT THIS YEAR? Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Zakaat is one of the Five pillars of islam. It is an obligation from Allah upon every Muslim who possesses the minimum amount of wealth given certain conditions. This is not Zakaatul Fitir or Eidul Fitir. I will share with you in coming days in shaa Allaah about these two zakaat but my topic today is about zakaat on our savings or wealth. The type of wealth upon which zakat is obligatory are Monetary assets, Livestock, Agricultural produce, Merchandise. (1) The zakaat on monetary Assets : Gold, Silver and currency. Zakaat [obligatory charity] must be paid on gold if it reaches the Nisaab [i.e. the minimum amount liable for Zakaah], which is 20 Mithqaal [a measure which equals 85 grams of pure gold, 1 Mithqaal = 4.25 grams], this means that one should pay ½ a Mithqaal as Zakaat, i.e., 2.5% of the value of gold. Zakaat must be paid on silver if it reache...
THIRD REMINDER. Yaum Al-Ithnayn, 12th/13th day of Ramadan (Monday 28th May). Lets Be careful with THIEVES of the month of Ramadan. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue from the first and second Reminders. If you missed any please request for a copy. Bad Akhlaq(practice of virtue, morality and manners): Fasting is not just restraining from food and drinks but eyes, ears, tongue and all parts of the body should also be fasting.. Stay away from lying, backbiting, cursing, suspicion, if you want to pass the siraat with ease during this month make your Akhlaq good. And finally the biggest thief: Social media i.e Facebook, Watsapp etc; If you do not use them in the right way, all your good deeds could be taken from you. Don't let this holy month go so that when everyone is receiving their rewards, you are the one who are empty handed. May ALLAH accept our IBADAT or acts of worship in this blessed month. Aameen.
SECOND REMINDER. Yaum Al-Ithnayn, 12th/13th day of Ramadan (Monday 28th May). Lets Be careful with THIEVES of the month of Ramadan. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue from the first Reminder. Please request for a copy if you couldn't receive the first Reminder. Wasting night: A thief that steals most valuable time from you. This thief is responsible for turning you away from salatul layl, istighfar and tawbah and reading of specific duas of Ramadan and recitation of the Qur'an. Stinginess: Give sadaqah, iftaar and help the orphans.. Give iftaar even if it is half a date or a sip of water, so ALLAH will forgive your past sins. Gatherings without dhikr of Allah: This thief comes with deep regret on the day of judgement. Don't go to places of gathering if not for Islamic lectures etc. Helping parents; Whoever in this month does good towards their relatives, ALLAH connects them with HIS mercy on the day of judgement. My dear, always be careful with your...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaum Al-Ithnayn, 12th/13th day of Ramadan (Monday 28th May). Lets Be careful with THIEVES of the month of Ramadan. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Television: This thief is dangerous and ruins days of people and diminishes their rewards, by watching useless movies and programs it squanders the time in a month where the days are the best of all days and nights are the best of all nights. Let's give TV the yellow card if we can watching only Islamic lectures on it but the Red card if we can't use it for only Islamic programs. Too much sleep: Just because it is said in Hadith that even sleep in this month has thawab doesn't mean that you should excessively sleep.. The point is that if even sleep contains rewards then imagine the rewards of Ibaadat or acts of worship. Let's utilise our time wisely in getting the best out of this month. To be continued in Shaa ALLAH. May ALLAH keep guiding us all and increases us in beneficial knowledge. Aameen.
THIRD REMINDER. Yaumul Ahad, 11th/12th day of Ramadan (Sunday 27th May). THREE CATEGORIES OF PEOPLE ARE MENTIONED IN QUR'AN, WHICH CATEGORY ARE YOU? BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue from the first/second Reminders. If you missed any, please request for me to copy to you before reading this one. CATEGORY 3. Al MUNAAFIQEEN, HYPOCRITES/2 FACED PEOPLE. (Baqarah Ayat 8 onward. This is the most dangerous category and many of us are unaware of the fact that sometimes you do fall into this category of people. These are the people who say they beleive, but when they are alone, they dont believe. They are 2 faced, different in people and different when alone. To get an idea, we will take an example. Abdullah ibn Ubay, one of the chiefs during the Prophet’s time, is regarded as the biggest Hypocrite/Munaafiq. He used to come and stand in the 1st row of prayer for the Jummah Salaah just to show the Prophet and the people. Inside he had jealousy towards Prophet S.A.W (...
SECOND REMINDER. Yaumul Ahad, 11th/12th day of Ramadan (Sunday 27th May). THREE CATEGORIES OF PEOPLE ARE MENTIONED IN QUR'AN, WHICH CATEGORY ARE YOU? BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue from the first Reminder. If you missed it please request for me to copy you before reading this one. CATEGORY 2. KAAFIR, HE WHO DENIES/HIDES/CONCEALS THE TRUTH (Al Baqarah 6 -7). A person, either knows about Islam, accepts it and follows it (Muslim) or doesn’t know the truth and does Shirk (Non -Muslim). But there is another category of people, who know the Haqq (the truth), understand it and then reject it. Those people are called ‘Kaafir’. Hence not all non muslims are Kaafir according to scholars. Those who reject after having the knowledge, are called Kaafirs. Such are our brothers who abandons salaat etc. These people know the reality, the truth from Allah, understand the differences, but still conceal and reject the Haqq (truth). Allah says, it is of no use, whether you w...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaumul Ahad, 11th/12th day of Ramadan (Sunday 27th May). THREE CATEGORIES OF PEOPLE ARE MENTIONED IN QUR'AN, WHICH CATEGORY ARE YOU? BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Allah mentions 3 kinds of people in ‘The QUR'AN’, The Muttaqeen, The Kaafir and The Munaafiq. Which category do you fall into? Let's find out. CATEGORY 1 : AL-MUTTAQEEN. THOSE WHO ADOPT TAQWA/ALLAH CONSCIOUSNESS (Al Baqarah 2-5). This is the category we all would want to fall under. These are those who are the most dearest to ALLAH, the most HIGH. Charaterisitics of Al Muttaqeen (Those with Taqwa): They have eeman on ‘Gaib’, The Unseen – i.e. Believe in Allah, the Angels, The Messenger, The Revelation, Quran, The Day of Judgement and Destiny. They establish five regular daily prayers: They spend in Charity from whatever Allah has given them – i.e. ‘Rizq’. Rizq is tangible and well as intangible, for eg, Children, food, ilm (knowledge), time etc. Everything is Rizq given by Allah! They be...
THIRD REMINDER. Yaum Al-Sabt. 10th/11th day of Ramadhan. HOW TO BOOST OR INCREASE OUR EEMAAN IN THIS BLESSED MONTH. Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue from the first and second reminders. If you couldn't receive any please request for a copy. Praying to our Lord, ALLAH, Glorified and Exalted, in secret, supplicating a lot to HIM, hoping for HIS reward, and engaging in much remembrance of HIM. Contemplating HIS Book(Qur'an), for nothing helps the recovery of the heart except the Message of ALLAH Mighty (The Quran). There are many who busy themselves even with sciences of the Shari`ah at the expense of reciting the Qur'an until their hearts eventually harden. So if this happens with acts of obedience, what about one who occupies his/her heart with sins? Regularly performing your obligatory prayers in congregation, for ALLAH guaranteed the one who guards his obligatory prayers in congregation that HE will neither abandon him, nor humiliate him, and that HE ...
SECOND REMINDER. Yaum Al-Sabt. 10th/11th day of Ramadhan. HOW TO BOOST OR INCREASE OUR EEMAAN IN THIS BLESSED MONTH. Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue from the first reminder. If you couldn't receive it please request for a copy. Make an effort to gain some level of Islamic knowledge. We can't worship without knowledge. Some are following blindly and even deviating from the correct aqeedah due to lack of knowledge. Remember that some are sponsored to learn the arabic/quran just to deviate many Muslims bcs we fail to learn. Let's strive to Know the meanings behind Allah's names and attributes. People who have taqwa(fear in God not to offend HIM) are those who have knowledge according to ALLAH in the Quran. Attend gatherings of Islamic lectures and learning of Quran centres. In such gatherings we are surrounded by Angels. We have to increase our good deeds. One good deed leads to another good deed. ALLAH will make the way easy for someone who gives c...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaum Al-Sabt. 10th/11th day of Ramadhan. HOW TO BOOST OR INCREASE OUR EEMAAN IN THIS BLESSED MONTH. Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Ramadaan is a blessed month for all of us to find any possible means to correct our relationship with our Creator, ALLAH. It's important we strive to better our ways of life and seek guidance from ALLAH not to go back to our sinful acts after Ramadaan. There are ways and tools from ALLAH to aid us from any satanic influences bcs definitely sheitan will be released from prison and he will be like a wounded lion seeking to get back his lost mates due to Ramadaan. The most effective way is to learn or study the Qur'an, Recite it regularly and ponder on the meanings. Tranquility then descends and our hearts become soft. To get optimum benefit, remind yourself that ALLAH is speaking to you. People are described in different categories in the Quran; think of which one you find yourself in. If you can't recite or understand the Qur...
THIRD REMINDER. Yaumul Jumuat 9th/10th day of Ramadan (Friday 25th May). ALLAH, The CREATOR of all CREATION says: and follow not the footsteps of Shaitan (Satan). What are the footsteps of Satan? Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Studies of the Glorious QUR'AN and SUNNAH through the rightours imams has indicated that looking at non-Mahram(Non Relatives) women in real life or on satellite channels or talking to them on the phone or in the markets or flirting with them, reading romantic books and art and fashion magazines with pictures of actresses and beautiful and charming celebrities are all considered as following the footsteps of Satan? As they lead to fornication of the eyes, ears, hands etc. Imam Al-Qurtuby (in Tafsir Al-Qurtuby vol. 1, P. 308) said, Footsteps of Sheitan covers all the sins and Bid`ahs (innovations in religion). It is clear that the footsteps of Satan apply to all the acts that involve disobedience to Allah (Exalted be He). So, whoever disobeys the orders o...
SECOND REMINDER : Yaumul Jumuat 9th/10th day of Ramadan (Friday 25th May). THE RIGHT FORMAT OF MAKING DUA. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Before making any dua we are thought to 1. Praise ALLAH (SWT) and to thank HIM and show gratitude to HIS RAHMAH.  Example is the first 3 verses of suratul Fatihah, Aayatul Kursy. Laailaaha illaa Anta, Anta Nuurus Samaawaati wal Ard, etc. 2. You then follow that by sending salutations to the Prophet(Salaat Alan Nabi) which is "Allah humma salli alaa muhammad wa-alaa aali muhammad kama sallaita alaa Ibraaheem wa alaa aali Ibraheem inna ka hameed um majeed. Allah hummabarik alaa muhammad wa alaa aali muhammad kamaa baarakta alaa Ibraaheem wa alaa aali Ibraheem inna ka hameed um majeed". 3. Then Make your dua starting from those mentioned in Quran and Sunnah in Arabic like saying Allahummah Ajirnii Minan Naar(Oh Allah Protect me from the hell fire). Then you can use your language to request dua for yourself, family and all Muslims es...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaumul Jumuat 9th/10th day of Ramadan (Friday 25th May). DOES WET DREAMS INVALIDATE THE FAST? Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. If you experience a wet dream, it does not affect the validity of your fast. Since you have no control over your dreams while sleeping, it does not affect the validity of your fast. This is a matter that is beyond a person’s control, and we cannot prevent it. Allaah says; “Allaah burdens not a person beyond his scope”[al-Baqarah 2:286]. However, let me hasten to indicate that you ought to do ghusl (bath) in order to be entitled to perform salah (in case of a wet dream). This is one of the things that Allaah has created in human nature for men and women alike. Hence it was narrated from Umm Salamah, one of our mothers, the Mother of the Believers that: “Umm Sulaym the wife of Abu Talhah came to the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and said, ‘O Messenger of Allaah, verily Allaah is not shy of (telling you) the...
THIRD REMINDER. Yaum Al-Khamis 8th/9th day of Ramadan (Thursday 24th May). LAWFUL and UNLAWFUL. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Sheikh An-Nu’man ibn Basheer may ALLAH be pleased with him reported: The Messenger of ALLAH, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Verily, the lawful is clear and the unlawful is clear, and between the two of them are doubtful matters about which many people do not know. Thus, he who avoids doubtful matters clears himself in regard to his religion and his honor, and he who falls into doubtful matters will fall into the unlawful as the shepherd who pastures near a sanctuary, all but grazing therein. Verily, every king has a sanctum and the sanctum of ALLAH is HIS prohibitions. Verily, in the body there is a piece of flesh which if upright then the entire body is upright, and if corrupt then the entire body is corrupt. No doubt it is the heart. Sahih Bukhari 52, Grade: Muttafaqun Alayhi. In another narration, the Prophet said: Make between yourself and the ...
SECOND REMINDER. Yaum Al-Khamis 8th/9th day of Ramadan (Thursday 24th May). MAKING DUA FOR DISBELIEVERS. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. The Messenger for Mercy Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam encouraged us to make dua for ALLAH to guide the misguided people instead of cursing them. Imam Abu Huraira may ALLAH be pleased with him reported: At-Tufail came with his companions and they said, “O Messenger of ALLAH, the tribe of Daws has disbelieved and rejected you, so pray to ALLAH against them.” And it was said, “May the tribe of Daws be destroyed!” The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “O Allah, guide the tribe of Daws and bring them to me.” In another narration, the Prophet said, “Verily, I have not been sent to invoke curses, but rather I was sent as mercy.” Saheeh Bukhari 4131, Saheeh Muslim 2524. Grade: Muttafaqun Alayhi (authenticity agreed upon) according to Al-Bukhari and Muslim. Let's strive to do daawah to non Muslims around us especially our ...
THIRD Reminder. Yaum Al-Raaba'a, 7th/8th day of Ramadan (Wednesday, 23rd May?. Let's conclude on our topic today About giving sincere charity for Allah sake. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. If you have been trying to save up for something, or if you have debt that you haven’t been able to repay, or if you have a goal that you just haven’t been able to achieve; as a productive Muslim you should set aside a portion of your salary every month for sadaqah even if it’s a very small amount. The difference it will make in your life will be worth it in shaa Allah. Sadaqah serves as a means of reaping continuous rewards after your death. When we work for something that will grant us benefit in this worldly life (e.g. a promotion, etc.), we tend to put in a lot of time, effort and sometimes money in order to achieve our goals. A productive Muslim does the same for the aakhira(the hereafter). He/she invests time, hard work and money in activities that will bring great reward, and some...
SECOND REMINDER. Yaum Al-Raaba'a, 7th/8th day of Ramadan (Wednesday, 23rd May?. LET'S CONTINUE WITH OUR TOPIC ON GIVING SINCERE CHARITY AND ITS EFFECTS ON OUR LIFE. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Sadaqah is a means of gaining baraqah(blessings) on our wealth or income. It may be hard for us to give sadaqah when we are barely able to make ends meet. However, it is reported in Sahih Muslim that the Prophet  said: Charity does not decrease the wealth and the servant who forgives, ALLAH adds to his respect; and the one who shows humility, ALLAH elevates him in the estimation (of the people). If we truly believe and apply these hadiths, we will come to learn that we can never lose from giving sadaqah, but instead we gain immensely from it. However, gaining from sadaqah may not always be in a physical form. When we give sadaqah, it doesn’t necessarily mean that our salaries will increase or we will miraculously stumble upon a goldmine. It may mean that ALLAH will put baraqah(bles...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaum Al-Raaba'a, 6th/7th day of Ramadan (Wednesday, 23rd May?. SINCERE CHARITY (Sadaqah) is a GUARANTEED INVESTMENT and INCREASES WEALTH. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. ALLAH, the Almighty says in the Holy Qur'an: "Who will loan to ALLAH a beautiful loan which ALLAH will double unto his/her credit and multiply it many times? 2:245. The above verse teaches us that by generously giving to the poor and needy, ALLAH will increase our wealth and blessings in this life, wipe out sin, increase reward and provide shade on the Day of Judgment and more in shaa ALLAH. What more could we ask for? Money back, profit, good health, baraqah (blessings) in our wealth, shade on the Day of Judgement, sadaqah is definitely the best investment for our dunya and aakhira. Let's help the expecially our relatives in this blessed month without seeking any rewards from them or expecting them to reciprocate your kind gesture if you did it for ALLAH sake. Forget about special...
THIRD REMINDER. Yaum Al-thalaatha, 6th/7th day of Ramadan (Tuesday 22nd May). SISTER'S RECOMMENDED ACTS OF WORSHIP IN RAMADAN WHEN THEY ARE GOING THROUGH THEIR CYCLE. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue from today's topic. Please request for a copy if you missed receiving any please. 5. Be Kind to Others, Including Spouses & Family Members. The Companion Salman al-Farasi related that the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) said about Ramadan in a sermon given on the last day of Sha’ban, “…It is a month of patience and the reward of patience is Paradise…” 6. Make Dua for the Ummah The Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) said about Ramadan, “Verily, Allah frees people (from the Hellfire) in every day and every night and for each Muslim among them is a supplication which will be answered.” [Ahmad]. 7. Make Much Repentance. Regret your past sins, repent from it and seek forgiveness from the most HIGH, THE MERCIFUL. 8. Feed Fasting People....
SECOND REMINDER. Yaum Al-thalaatha, 6th/7th day of Ramadan (Tuesday 22nd May). SISTER'S RECOMMENDED ACTS OF WORSHIP IN RAMADAN WHEN THEY ARE GOING THROUGH THEIR CYCLE. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Suggested Acts of Worship During Menstruation in Ramadan. PLEASE read through the first Reminder first. Reguest for a copy if you missed it. These suggestions are not specific to the last ten nights of Ramadan but to the month in general. Furthermore, they also apply to women in a state of post-natal bleeding. 1. Reciting/Listening to the Quran; Our sisters should recite and listen to the Quran as much as possible, while simultaneously pondering about its deep meanings. 2. Make Much Remembrance (Dhikr) of ALLAH. “…and men who remember Allah much and women who remember, Allah hath prepared for them forgiveness and a vast reward.” [The Confederates: 35]. 3. Send Blessings on the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace). Allah says in the Quran, “Lo! Allah and His angels shower ...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaum Al-thalaatha, 6th/7th day of Ramadan (Tuesday 22nd May). SISTER'S RECOMMENDED ACTS OF WORSHIP IN RAMADAN WHEN THEY ARE GOING THROUGH THEIR CYCLE. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem. I would like to motivate our sisters not to be too worried thinking they are loosing out due to cycle period. The Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) said about menstruation, “Verily this is a matter Allah has written upon the girls of Prophet Adam (Allah bless him)…” [Bukhari]. Those who claim that menstruation is like a punishment because they cannot perform acts of worship are totally wrong. On the contrary, there are many forms of worship that a woman can do while menstruating aside from what is legally prohibited such Fasting, praying etc. Allah says in the Quran, “He who obeyeth Allah and His messenger, and feareth Allah, and keepeth duty (unto Him): such indeed are the victorious.” [Nur: 52]. Allah Most High has commanded menstruating women and women in a state of ...
THIRD REMINDER. Yaumul Ithnayn 5th/6th day of Ramadan (Monday 21st May). I'm a high school student and have my exams coming up so I'm not able to study when I observe fast. Only after I break my fast I'm able to study only a bit. Should I not care about my marks and stuff and fully concentrate on my religion? Is it OK if I keep these fasts after Ramadhan? Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Generally, fasting should not interfere with your studies in any significant way, for even if you feel a little tired to study during the day you can still make up for it during the night. Anyway, most students prefer to study late at night. Moreover, by fasting, you stand to gain greater blessings and you can count on the help of ALLAH and HIS infinite graces by virtue of fasts. So don't look at fasting as a burden. Rather, it is indeed a powerful spiritual and moral boost. In fact, you may do well to remember that of the great victories that Muslims had achieved happened during Ramadh...
SECOND REMINDER. Yaumul Ithnayn 5th/6th day of Ramadan (Monday 21st May). Can one donate blood during the Ramadan Fasting? Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. It is not recommended to donate blood while fasting unless there is an absolute necessity to do so. Drawing a lot of blood may make a person weak and may force him or her to break the fast. So, indulging in such an action is not at all recommended as we are advised to keep our fasts intact as best as possible. Moreover, there are scholars who are of the belief that drawing lots of blood would invalidate the fast. This is the opinion of Imam Ahmad. However, Imam Shafi and others are of the view that drawing of blood (by itself) does not break the fast; it is still not advisable to do so as it may inadvertently cause a person to break his fast. The ruling, however, is different when faced with an emergency. That is the case when one is called upon to donate blood in order to save another person's life. In this case, one must not h...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaumul Ithnayn 5th/6th day of Ramadan (Monday 21st May). What level of intimacy are we allowed between spouses? Are we allowed to flirt, gently touch, kiss, or hug our spouses while fasting? Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. In optional fasts, all the above-mentioned acts are permitted so long as one does not engage in sexual intercourse. In obligatory fasts like Ramadan, one is allowed to do these only if one can control himself or herself. Breaking a Ramadhan fast through sexual intercourse is a serious offence; it entails a severe form of kaffarah (expiation), which involves fasting two months consecutively; if one cannot do this, one must feed sixty poor persons for a single day of fast. Therefore, no conscientious Muslim should contemplate such activities while fasting if there is a risk of overstepping the boundaries. If there is no such fear, then light touching, or kissing, etc., when not accompanied by sexual desire, is permissible. When the Prophet (peace be up...
THIRD REMINDER. Yaumul Ahad, 4th/5th day of Ramadan (Sunday 20th May). SINCERITY IN ALL WE DO IN THIS BLESSED MONTH. PLEASE SHARE TO ANY GROUP. Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. AlhamdulilLah for blessing us to be part of the on going fasting, let's focus on one important aspect of our life whiles fasting. That's sincerity in all we do. We find the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) stressing this matter when he said, "(Fasting) with full faith and hoping for a reward from Allah." The Salaf who are the companions and their students therefore used to do their righteous deeds secretly in fear of falling into showing off. Sufyan Al-Thawn said, "The servant of Allah would do his deeds secretly, and the devil would persist in tempting him until he convinces him to do it openly. The devil would then continue to insist until the person wants to be thanked for the deed. So, it will be converted from a deed done openly to one done for showing off." Allah forbid. ...
SECOND REMINDER. Yaumul Ahad, 4th/5th day of Ramadan (Sunday 20th May). ANGER MANAGEMENT IN THIS BLESSED MONTH continues. Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. The problem with leaving anger unresolved is that it can get the best of us and has the potential to become a monster within us. here are three pieces of advice from Islam’s spiritual sources that may go a long way in managing anger: First, the Qur’an advises that when Satan stirs us up with anger, the best course of action is to seek refuge in ALLAH (41:36). There is recognition in this that anger comes from a dark and fiery place and that the remembrance of ALLAH can bring light and coolness to one’s affairs. You can do this by chanting Allah’s beautiful names, reciting Qur’an, or anything else that helps you remember the Source of Peace (one of the 99 attributes of Allah). Example you can recite regularly Yaa Allah Yaa Hayyu Yaa Qayyuum BiRahmatika Astaqeeth ( Oh Allah, You the living and maintainer of life, with your mercy I ...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaumul Ahad, 4th/5th day of Ramadan (Sunday 20th May). ANGER MANAGEMENT WHILST FASTING.Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Once a young man approached the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallah) and asked him for some advice. The Prophet replied, “Do not become angry,” and he repeated this three times. On another occasion the Prophet asked his companions, “Do you know who the strong person is?” His companions replied, “The one who is able to wrestle others down.” The Prophet responded, “No, it is the one who is able to control their anger. There are so many wisdoms from the Prophet specifically advising against anger, all reflecting the Qur’anic description of the righteous as those who “hold in check their anger” (3:134). The advice is much needed. Indeed, some of the worst actions committed by human beings from killing to domestic abuse are, at least partly, a result of unbridled anger. This month is the right time to fight out the evil of anger from our way of life.We ...
THIRD REMINDER. Yaum Al-Sabt, 3rd/ 4th day of Ramadhan (Saturday 19th May). SOME ACTS THAT DOES NOT INVALIDATE THE FASTING. Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Lets note some things that do not invalidate the fasting according to scholars base on knowledge of Quran and sunnah: eyedrops, eardrops, tooth extraction and treatment of injuries do not invalidate the fast. Majmoo’ Fataawa Shaykh al-Islam, 25/233-245. Medical tablets that are placed under the tongue to treat asthma attacks etc, so long as you avoid swallowing any residue.  Anything that enters the urinary tract of a male or female, such as a catheter tube, or medical scopes, or opaque dyes inserted for the purpose of x-rays, or medicine, or a solution to wash the bladder etc does not invalidate the fast. Fillings, extractions or cleaning of the teeth, whether with a siwaak or toothbrush, Rinsing the mouth, gargling, sprays etc so long as you avoid swallowing anything that reaches the throat. PLEASE REMEMBER ME IN YOUR DUA JUST ...
SECOND REMINDER. Yaum Al-Sabt, 3rd/ 4th day of Ramadhan (Saturday 19th May). SHOULD A DIABETIC PERSON FAST? IS IT NOT SUFFICIENT FOR HIM TO OFFER FIDYAH (FEEDING THE POOR)?. Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. In response to this question, I can say that One cannot make a blanket ruling to the effect that all diabetic people may skip fasting and only need to provide fidyah(feeding the poor). This is because each diabetic person's condition is different from the other, as each one reacts differently to fasting. My late sheikh Sibawaihi may Allah be pleased with him was a diabetic but never missed a day fasting that I'm aware of. Not even optional Mondays and Thursday's fasting. If we see one diabetic person as being adversely affected by fasting, we also find another, in spite of being a diabetic, not at all troubled by fasting. This being the case, one should never assume that all diabetic individuals are generally exempt from fasting. If a diabetic person has been advised by...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaum Al-Sabt, 3rd/ 4th day of Ramadhan (Saturday 19th May). USING RAMADAN AS AN OPPORTUNITY TO PURIFY OUR SOULS. Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Fasting is not only about abstaining from food and drink but it is also about abstaining from anger, backbiting, jealousy, greed, thinking ill of people; and all the other diseases of the heart. Purification of the soul from the illnesses of the heart is not an easy task and the person who is able to free him/herself from these unhealthy qualities is truly the successful one. Allah (swt) says: “And [by] the soul and He who proportioned it; And inspired it [with discernment of] its wickedness and righteousness, he has succeeded who purifies it.” (Qur’an, 91:7-9). We all suffer from the constant annoying whispers of the shaytan (devil) that just won’t go away, thus making the task of purification even more difficult. For this reason, the blessed month of Ramadan is an ideal time to work on purifying our souls. Not only does AL...
THIRD REMINDER. Yaum Al-jumuat, 2nd/3rd day of Ramadhan. Sister's monthly cycle comes whilst fasting, should she complete the day's fasting or not? Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. If a woman gets her monthly cycle while fasting, her fast is spoiled, even if the blood comes a moment before sunset, and she has to make that up if it was an obligatory fast. It is haraam for her to continue fasting when she is menstruating. Al-Nawawi (may Allaah have mercy on him) said in al-Majmoo’ (2/386):  The ummah is unanimously agreed that it is haraam for women who are menstruating or bleeding following childbirth to fast and that their fast is not valid. She can choose not to eat in public but her fast is spoiled as such can eat secretly. The ummah is also unanimously agreed that it is obligatory for these women to make up missed Ramadaan fasts. Al-Tirmidhi, Ibn al-Mundhir, Ibn Jareer, our companions and others narrated that there was consensus on this point. Obviously ALLAH may reward yo...
SECOND REMINDER. Yaum Al-jumuat, 2nd/3rd day of Ramadhan. Question: CAN I FEED/SUPPORT MY BOY/GIRLFRIEND IN THIS MONTH OF RAMADAN? Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. It should be stressed that having a premarital relationship is definitely prohibited whether during Ramadan or after it. So, I will advice you dear sisters and brothers to fear ALLAH, come back to ALLAH, make use of this blessed month to change your lifestyle for better in a way that pleases ALLAH, and to have your sins forgiven. Don't fool yourself that he or she wants to marry you as such the haraam relationships are normal. What if you die in such haraam way? To use haraam source support to fast is a waste of time. I wouldn't say don't fast but as the prophet said, some will fast but their rewards will be hunger that they went through because they gained nothing why? Bcs they fasted using haraam income, commited major sins like fornication in the night of Ramadan etc, some even ask if they can commit zina at ...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaum Al-Jumuat, 2nd/3rd day of Ramadan (FRIDAY. 18th May). FRIDAY ETIQUETTES TO NOTE. Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. ALHAMDULILLAH for blessing us with another Friday, the best day of the week in the best day of the month. Let's strive to make it a special day each week as taught by the Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam. Remember to recite Qur'an chapter 18 suuratul Kahf in particular, not only by reciting but by studying it's beautiful meaning. Prepare for your eid clothing this morning, cut your nails and clear your private parts, recite more salutations to the Prophet(salaatu Alan Nabi), Men should put on their perfume and take your purification bath (ghusul) as follows; Say BismilLah after your intention in mind for taking this ghusul either for jumuat, after sexual intercourse, for eid, after child birth etc, wash your private parts well, then perform wudoo as normal as we do for Salaat then wash your entire body from head to toe preferably by washi...
THIRD REMINDER: Yaum Al-Khamis, 1st/2nd day of Ramadhan (Thursday 17th May). SOME MISTAKES TO AVOID DURING FASTING. Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Missing the golden chance of having your Dua accepted. The prayer of the fasting person is guaranteed to be accepted at the time of breaking fast. The Prophet (Sal Allahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) said: “Three prayers are not rejected: the prayer of the parents, the prayer of a fasting person, and the prayer of a traveller.” (al-Bayhaqi). Instead of sitting down and making Dua at this precious time, some people forego this beautiful chance, and are too busy frying, talking, setting the food, filling their plates and glasses, etc. Think about it….Is food more important than the chance to have your sins forgiven or the fulfilment of your Duas. Only 5 mins prior to opening, spend critical moment, ask from deep within you for the fast to be accepted, for your development & don’t forget the rest of the Ummah especially me😊. Make sure your Qu’ra...
SECOND REMINDER: Yaum Al-Khamis, 1st/2nd day of Ramadhan (Thursday 17th May). SOME MISTAKES TO AVOID DURING FASTING. Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Skipping Suhoor (PRE-DAWN MEAL) intentionally. The Prophet (Sal Allahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) said: “Eat suhoor for in suhoor there is blessing.”(Bukhaari, Muslim). He (Sal Allahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) said: “The thing that differentiates between our fasting and the fasting of the People of the Book is eating suhoor.” (Imam Muslim Narrated). Some people are too scared to fast if they miss Suhoor. However, this is a kind of cowardice and love of ease. What is the big deal if you missed a few morsels of food? It’s not like you will die neither will you find it hard to concentrate, mind over matter! Remember, hope & faith in ALLAH overcomes everything. Continue your fasting even if you miss Suhoor please. Some people put so much food in their plates when breaking their fast and continue eating, enjoying dessert, drinking tea, etc.. until the...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaum Al-Khamis, 1st/2nd day of Ramadhan (Thursday 17th May). SOME MISTAKES TO AVOID DURING FASTING. Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Alhamdulillah for blessing us to be part of this blessed month. It's my hope that all abled muslims are fasting today and I pray that may ALLAH accept it from us all and bless those who are unable to fast due to genuine reasons such as our sisters in their cycle. Let's remind each other about some mistakes we do whilst fasting. Wasting time. The month of Ramadaan is precious, before we realized, this month of mercy and forgiveness will be over. We should try and spend every moment possible in the worship of ALLAH so that we can make the most of this blessings. However, there are some of us who waste away their day playing video games, or worse still, watching TV, movies or even listening to music instead of the Quran. Subhaan’Allah! Some of us fast but do not give up lying, cursing, fighting, backbiting, etc. And others continue...
THIRD REMINDER. Yaum Ar-Raaba'ā 30th day of Shaabaan (Wednesday, 16th May). RAMADAN MOOD. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue from the second reminder; Fasting is a practice of the body, mind, and soul. As Imam Ghazali said, the vast majority of people fast only for namesake. For, while staying away from food, drink, and sexual gratifications, their mind, eyes, ears, tongue, and other faculties feast on haram (unlawful matters). We must embrace the true spirit of fasting as stressed in Hadith, which means that we ought to be charitable and compassionate, as best as we can during Ramadhan and after. We should strengthen our relationship with the Qur'an; for, Ramadhan is the month of the Qur'an. We should engage in dhikr and condition ourselves to make it our second nature. Last but not least, we should build our community through acts of charity and compassion and extend helping hands to those in need as much as we can. Let us pray that we come out of Ramad...
SECOND REMINDER. Yaum Ar-Raaba'ā 30th day of Shaabaan (Wednesday, 16th May). RAMADAN MOOD. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Alhamdulillah I can sense how eager many are welcoming this blessed month of Ramadan. Ramadan is intended to help us take stock of our lives, renew our faith, reset our complex system and empower us to fulfill our divine mandate on the earth. Therefore, in order to benefit from Ramadhan, we may do well to prepare for it by opening our hearts and minds to embrace it. We should empower ourselves by learning as much as we can about the precise rules, as well as the benefits, of fasting. Perform all acts of worship while being fully awake to their inner dimensions and meanings. Most often we allow ourselves to go through these rituals as mere mechanical chores with the result that we gain virtually no spiritual or moral benefit from them. In order to gain maximum benefits from fasting, realize the true spirit of fasting. We can only do so by abstaining not only ...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaum Ar-Raaba'ā 30th day of Shaabaan (Wednesday, 16th May). FASTING STARTS TOMORROW THURSDAY IN SHAA ALLAH. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. As at yesterday evening, there was no reliable sighting of the crescent as such Sha'abaan will end 30 days for Ramadan to commence tomorrow Thursday as the Prophet commanded. But if any country or Imam chooses today to be 1st of Ramadan by their calculation then they shouldn't be blamed for fasting today as such we must stop any unnecessary arguments that causes hatred in this blessed month. For those who started today, we say May Allah accept it from them and accept ours from tomorrow as well. Islamic months end either 29th if moon sighted or 30th as such there can always be such scenarios that some countries start before others. Just before I share this reminder at 7:30am UK time, I listened to an audio that claims the moon was physically sighted with witnesses yesterday at WENCHI Ashanti Ghana as such those who hear...
THIRD REMINDER. Yaum Al-thalaatha 29th day of Shaabaan (Tuesday 15th May). ON YOUR MARK TO RAMADHAN. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. AlhamdulilLah for blessing us with another opportunity to be part of this blessed month. In shaa Allah, we should all strive to look for the birth of Ramadhan crescent and Upon Sighting of the new Moon, we should recite; Allahumma ahillahu 'alayna bil-amni wal-imaani, was-salaamati, wal-Islami, wat-tawfeeqi lima tuhibbu Rabbana wa tardha. Rabbuna wa RabbukAllahu. Meaning Allah is the Greatest. O Allah bring us the new moon with security and faith, with peace and in Islam, and in harmony with what our Lord Loves and what pleases Him. Our Lord and your Lord is Allah [at-Tirmidhi 5:504, ad-Darimi 1:336]. If you are sleeping early today after isha salaat an...
SECOND REMINDER. Yaum Al-thalaatha 29th day of Shaabaan (Tuesday 15th May). ARE WE READY FOR THE BLESSED MONTH OF RAMADAN?. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Allah says; "The month of Ramadhan in which was revealed the Quran, a guidance for mankind and clear proofs for the guidance and the criterion (between right and wrong). So whoever of you sights (the crescent on the first night of) the month (of Ramadhan i.e. is present at his home), he must observe Sawm (fasts) that month, and whoever is ill or on a journey (facing difficulties), the same number [of days which one did not observe Sawm (fasts) must be made up] from other days. ALLAH intends for you ease, and HE does not want to make things difficult for you. (He wants that you) must complete the same number (of days), and that you must magnify Allaah [i.e. to say Takbeer (Allaahu Akbar: Allaah is the Most Great)] for having guided you so that you may be grateful to HIM”[al-Baqarah 2:185]. We've learned from this verse th...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaum Al-thalaatha 29th day of Shaabaan (15th May). WHO IS THE DRIVER OF YOUR LIFE? Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. As Ramadan is knocking at our doorbell, it's important to renew our relationship with our Creator, ALLAH. Please note that No matter how overloaded a bus is, the driver's seat is always reserved. Who is the driver of your life? No matter how busy your schedules are...always remember to reserve a seat for the driver of your life and that's ALLAH not your husband, wife, father, mother etc but ALLAH so make your priority in life to please HIM and fear no one else in your efforts to Please ALLAH. Frankly and truthfully, ALMOST ALL OUR DIFFICULTIES are due to the fact that we've made someone or something else as our driver in life and human beings can only fail you if you make them your priority other than ALLAH. For most people, job, partner, parents, children etc are their drivers in life as such some even miss their salaat because of that ...
THIRD REMINDER. Yaumul Ithnayn 28th day of Shaabaan (Monday 14th May). MONITORING OUR INTENTIONS FOR ANYTHING WE DO. Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue from the 1st and 2nd reminders. If you missed any of the Reminders please alert me to copy you before you read this Reminder be-iznilLah. Sheikh Abu 'Ubayd said, "The Prophet, sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam, collected all the affairs of the Hereafter in one statement, 'Whosoever introduces into this affair of ours that which is not part of it, then it is rejected,' and all the affairs of this world in one statement, 'Verily actions are by intentions.' Place them in every chapter." Imam Abu Dawud said: "I looked into the hadith of the Musnad (i.e. of imam Ahmad) and it consisted of 40,000 ahadith. Then I looked again and (found that) the 40,000 ahadith revolved around 4 ahadith: The hadith of Nu'man ibn Bashir,' The halal is clear and the haram is clear'; The hadith of ...
SECOND REMINDER. Yaumul Ithnayn 28th day of Shaabaan (Monday 14th May). MONITORING OUR INTENTIONS FOR ANYTHING WE DO. Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue from the morning reminder. If you missed the first Reminder please alert me to copy you before you read this Reminder be-iznilLah. The issue of Intentions before any act is so crucial to the extent that Imam Al-Bukhari commences in his Sahih with this hadith and gives it the place of an opening lecture from him thereby indicating that every action that is done not desiring the Face of ALLAH is invalid bearing no fruits in this world and in the Hereafter that's why non Muslims good deeds are irrelevant to ALLAH as they do it to make name and to seek attention and rewards from their government not for ALLAH sake. This is why one of our Schoolars said, "If I were to write a book composed of chapters, I would place in every chapter the hadith of 'Umar Ibn Al-Khattab to do with 'actions are by intention...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaumul Ithnayn 28th day of Shaabaan (Monday 14th May). MONITORING OUR INTENTIONS FOR ANYTHING WE DO. Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. RAMADAN is around the corner and we pray that ALLAH make us among those who fast in the coming Ramadan which falls between Tomorrow Tuesday and Thursday SUBJECT TO MOON SIGHTINGS PLEASE. Our beloved Messenger of ALLAH peace be upon him said: ‘The deeds are considered by their intentions, and a person will get the reward according to his intentions.’ We usually make an intention before we perform good deeds such as fasting or giving sadaqah (charity). However, we often tend to forget to make an intention for the little everyday tasks we normally do. If we really want our hasanat (reward from good deeds) to soar during all the time especially in the coming Ramadan, let's make a sincere intention for every little task we perform. For instance, if you’re cooking for your family, make the intention that the time you spend in the kitchen...
THIRD REMINDER: Yaumul Ahad 27th day of Shaabaan (Sunday 13th May). CAN WE BE UNITED TO START FASTING SAME DAY AS MUSLIMS?. Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue from the first and second reminder. The issue of whether the difference in moon sighting matters or not is a theoretical matter in which there is room for ijtihaad (decision making process). Even people of great knowledge and piety differed concerning this matter. This is a type of difference which is acceptable, where the one who makes ijtihaad and gets it right will have two rewards, one for his ijtihaad and the other for getting it right, and the one who gets it wrong will be rewarded for his ijtihaad.  The scholars differed concerning this matter and there are two points of view. One is that the difference in moon sighting matters and the other is that it does not matter. Each group quotes evidence from the Qur’aan and Sunnah, and sometimes they quote the same text, such as when they both quote the verse  “...
SECOND REMINDER: Yaumul Ahad 27th day of Shaabaan (Sunday 13th May). CAN WE BE UNITED TO START FASTING SAME DAY AS MUSLIMS?. Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allaah have mercy on him) was asked about those who call for the ummah to be united in fasting and for the moon sighting to be based on its sighting in Makkah. He said:  This is impossible from an astronomical point of view, because the sighting of the new moon, as Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah said, differs, according to the scientists who are well-versed in this field. Because it differs, then each country should have its own ruling, according to the reports and according to science.  The evidence from reports is the verse in which Allaah says “So whoever of you sights (the crescent on the first night of) the month (of Ramadan i.e. is present at his home), he must observe Sawm (fasts) that month” [al-Baqarah 2:185]  If it so happens that people in a remote region of the world do not see the new moon...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaumul Ahad, 27th day of Shaabaan (Sunday, 13th May). RAMADAN MOOD ACTIVATION. Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. In shaa ALLAH, from today, our daily Islamic reminders will be focusing on the blessed coming month of Ramadan. As muslims we must know that all the blessings for this noble month approaching would never be achieved unless we understand its rulings from ALLAH and the Messenger and implement its rulings as it was practised by the Messenger and the Righteous Salaf (Pious Predecessors). It is imperative on the general body of muslims to take special care in counting the days of the month of Sha'baan in preparation for the month of Ramadaan. This was the practise of the Messenger. This is of great importance because the Islamic Month consists of twenty-nine or thirty days. The month starts with the sighting of the crescent which indicates its beginning. If however it is so cloudy that the crescent cannot be seen, then the thirtieth day of Sha'baan is com...
