THIRD REMINDER. Thursday. HOW DO WE HANDLE IT WHEN WE LOSE SOMEONE? Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. If we can understand how life is in reality, we will appreciate that everything in our lives is on borrowed time. Even those who we feel should be in our lives forever, aren’t there to stay. When the Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaiyhi wassallam passed away, some of his followers, including Umar Al Khattab (RA), initially denied reports of his death, until they were reminded that like the rest of us, even Prophets die, and that the only permanent presence in our lives is the Almighty Creator. The One who will be waiting for us on the other side; the One who will never die. Instead of shielding ourselves from the certainty of death, we should accept it as a part of life. We cherish and appreciate those who are in our lives when they are still alive, and we accept Allah’s decree when their time is up. Resisting and denying death will not prolong their lives. By accepting the reality, we ...
SECOND REMINDER. Thursday. FIX YOUR WORLD BY PLACING ALLAH, HIS MESSENGER AND THE QUR'AN IN THE RIGHT PLACE IN YOUR HEART. BismilLah An Imam was struggling to prepare his Friday sermon and didn't want to be disturbed by his five year old daughter, so he removed a map of the world from his study, tore it into pieces and gave it to her to assemble with the promise that he would answer all her questions and play with her when she was done. He knew she would never be able to fix it. To his amazement, in less than five minutes, she returned to him in his study with the map in perfect shape, every continent and every country in its place. The surprised father asked, ''Honey, you don't know anything about geography, so how did you fix the world so easily and quickly? The five year old girl smiled sweetly and replied, ''The picture of of THE HOLY QU'R' AN and the inscription LA ILLAHA ILLALLAHA MUHAMMADU ROSULULLAH was at back of the map and I knew that i...
FIRST REMINDER. Thursday. 12th day of Rabeeul Awwal. FEAR ALLAH IN THE CELEBRATION OF MAULID. BismilLah. My naseehah (advice) this morning goes to those who has chosen to celebrate the birth of our beloved messenger of Allah sallallahu alaihi wasallam. Personally I don't have any ill feelings for those who have decided to celebrate only if it can be arranged in line with Sharia rulings to all forms of celebration. Who will complain if the local imams decide to arrange lectures in the masjid or a field sitting to study the seerah or biography of the prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam with men and women properly dressed. The problem I have for this celebration is the fact that we are abusing the rules pertaining to gatherings and celebration. Young girls dressing in skinny jeans and short dresses with tight tops dancing with non mahram boys on the street blocking roads in the name of celebrating the birth of the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam. Information reaching m...
THIRD REMINDER. Wednesday. We CONTINUE ON OUR LESSON ON CAUSES of DIVORCE in TODAY'S YOUTH. Bismillah Another serious causes of divorce is impatience and Mistrust between couples. It's very important to trust each other and be patient with each other. Both must know that Satan will do all he can to create some misunderstanding. Knowing both married to help each other to Paradise means both must be extremely patient. A sister told me how she was impatient and stupidly lost her husband. She saw a lovely text from her husband phone and since that moment instead of patiently asking the husband what that message was about, she became upset and became rude to her husband till the husband divorced her for her change of attitude. When elders came in to resolve the issue she then told them how her attitude started then the husband noticed how Satan has influenced her. Basically the husband gave his phone to his work colleague whose phone has run out of battery. The friend sent a text ...
SECOND REMINDER. Wednesday. We CONTINUE ON OUR LESSON ON CAUSES of DIVORCE in TODAY'S YOUTH. Bismillah Let's continue from the first reminder. Choosing rightful partner is the first step to avoid falling into divorce mode after marriage. When you want to choose your spouse, you may choose them for their wealth, family's way of life, beauty or piety. Our Beloved Prophet (PBUH) said: "Fortunate are those who choose their spouse for their piety and godliness". Choose your spouse from Practicing Muslim families that's Muslims who care for their children and bring them up the Islamic way. If the parents of the person you want to marry are religious innovators or love visiting source Sayers/ fortune tellers, then you are making the first serious error in marrying from such home unless if you can get the sister to enroll into learning the deen well before the marriage. Seek recommendation from Learned Imams and Islamic teachers on anyone who approach you for marr...
FIRST REMINDER: Wednesday. 11th day of Rabeeul Awwal. CAUSES OF DIVORCE IN YOUNG COUPLES OF SO CALLED TODAY'S MODERN WORLD. Bismillah. Let's note that Islam is a complete way of life and doesn't need any modernization to make it successful in life. Successful in life means using dunya(Earth) provisions from Allah to attain JANNAT(Paradise). That should be our priorities in life. We must avoid whatever will deviate us from total obedience to Allah in our life. Marriage is a trust from Allah if not no one can buy a wife or husband as such we must be ready to account to Allah how we managed the trust. One of the main tools in making it successful in dunya is choosing the right partner. The most common cause of divorce is choosing wrong partner in the first place without considering piety which must be the main ingredient. Imagine you cooking a delicious meal but forgot to add salt to it, the term is disaster meal isn't it. Desire to have fancy cars, clothes, home, ...
THIRD REMINDER. Tuesday. THE VALUE OF A WOMAN IN ISLAM. Bismillah. Let's conclude from the second reminder. Which scenario better dignifies and protects women from the two mentioned in the second reminder? Is the first scenario really liberating, or is it humiliating and degrading to the woman’s body, feelings, needs and rights? Is the second scenario really old fashioned and oppressive, or is it dignifying and elevating? If you contemplate this issue with open mind and heart, you’ll realize that Allah doesn’t want for the woman to be abused, sexualized or made easily available, cheap or accessible to men to use as they please. And Allah doesn’t want for the man to be a slave of his desires and commit injustices against himself or others on account of his lusts and physical urges. That’s not real love and that’s not honorable or elevating type of relationships for human beings. Allah says: “And We have certainly honored the children of Aadam and carried them on the land and...
SECOND REMINDER. Tuesday. THE VALUE OF A WOMAN IN ISLAM. Bismillah. The dignity of human beings and especially the dignity of women is something that is utterly valued and highly sanctified in Islam. A woman’s womb in Arabic ‘rahm’ is extracted from the name of Allah Himself ‘ArRahman’ (The Most Merciful). This is a sign of elevation and closeness the woman has with The Creator Himself, The King of kings, the Giver of Life. Allah chose women to be the carriers of life into existence and this is an honorable position. Wherever she is, the woman must be taken care of, protected and honored. If she is in her dad’s house, then raising her and spending on her is an act of worship for him that he’ll be rewarded for by Allah. If she is in her husband’s house, then spending on her and treating her kindly and gently are acts of worship for him that he’ll be rewarded for by Allah. This is all in the most authentic narrations of this religion. When Islam came, it empowered women with rights...
FIRST REMINDER: Tuesday. 10th day of Rabeeul Awwal. SEX BEFORE MARRIAGE IS A MAJOR CRIME. Bismillah. Zina (fornication, adultery) is a serious crime and a major sin which takes away the quality of faith from a person, and exposes him to punishment and humiliation unless he/she repents. Allaah says; “And come not near to unlawful sex. Verily, it is a Faahishah (i.e. anything that transgresses its limits: a great sin, and an evil way that leads one to hell unless Allaah Forgives him)”[al-Isra’ 17:32] and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “No adulterer is a believer at the time when he is committing adultery” Narrated by al-Bukhaari (2475) and Muslim (57). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) has told us of the punishment that those who commit zina will receive in their graves before the Hour begins, and that they will be punished with fire. Narrated by al-Bukhaari (1320). The one who is faced with any such thing should hasten to repen...
THIRD REMINDER. Monday. OBEDIENCE to ALLAH'S MESSENGER. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem. BismilLah. Obedience to the Messenger of Allah is compulsory upon us all. Allah says: "He who obeys the Messenger (Muhammad S.A.W), has indeed obeyed ME, …….. 4:80. So, the obedience of the Prophet is part of the obedience of Allah as the Prophet is the reporter of what Allah revealed to him and all that he utters is but a revelation. The lessons from these is that if we want happiness in life and hereafter then we must learn to submit to the will of Allah and His Messenger (no if no but!!!). To also avoid doing whatever he didn't do in any acts of worship is indirectly obedience to him bcs if we do anything contrary or without proof he did it that way is indirectly saying he didn't complete his mission or it means you know better than him. Example, You can't pray 4 rakaats sunnah before fajir bcs he didn't and recommended only 2 rakaats. Let's learn his ways else shei...
SECOND REMINDER*. Monday. THE MEANING OF MUHAMMAD RASUULULLAH. Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. A confession with your tongue but a heartfelt belief, “O Allah! I testify that Muhammad (Peace be upon him) is Your Messenger.” That means that none has the right to be followed after Allah, but the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) as he is the Last of His Messengers. As Allah said: “Muhammad (Peace be upon him) is not the father on any man amongst you but he is the Messenger of Allah and the last (end) of the Prophets and Allah is Ever All Aware of everything.” (QUR'AN 33:40). This basically means even the children of the Prophet has to follow him as a Messenger of Allah not only as a father to them. Allah says “And whatsoever the Messenger Muhammad (Peace be upon him) gives you, take it and whatsoever he forbids you, abstain from it.” (QUR'AN 59:7) And Allah said: “Say (O Muhammad) (to mankind) ‘if you (really) love Allah, then follow me’.” (QUR'AN 3:31). May Allah aid us t...
FIRST REMINDER. Monday. 9th day of Rabeeul Awwal. THE TEAL MEANING OF “LAA ILAAHA ILLAA ALLAH , MUHAMMAD RASUULULLAH. Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. The testimony (LAA ILAAHA ILLAA ALLAH ) comprises of two concepts: Denial and Affirmation. FIRST: The testimony of faith denies the attribute of divinity to anyone and anything other than Allah - the Exalted. All those other than Allah, such as the Angels, the Prophets, and the rest of Mankind, let alone the idols and the political regimes in the world, does not have any authority of divinity and thus don’t deserve to be worshipped. Therefore, denial in this respect is not denial of the existence of the alleged authority, rather the denial of divinity which is attributed to them. Meaning some creation has some powers authorised by Allah but they are not in any authority worthy of our worship. SECONDLY: The testimony of faith affirms and restricts divinity to Allah alone. That is, the servant must believe that Allah is the only true God, ...
THIRD REMINDER. Sunday. HOW TO REACT DURING HARDSHIP AND A CALAMITY. BismilLah Just before the final reminder for today i would like to stress and remind us that my second reminder is just to remind us all that Islam is a old religion that has been is existence even during the time of our father Adam (A.S). During hardships and calamities, it is natural to get swept away by the affliction of the moment. During such trials of faith, unless we are careful, Satan can inject fear and plant doubts in our hearts and minds. Our beliefs in such vulnerable states may become overpowered by feelings of the moment resulting in the dwindling of our faith. Some of us start questioning the fairness and wisdom underlying such divine decisions while others get mired in a blame game. All in all, we may find ourselves lost, helpless, and stalled finding it difficult to gather ourselves and move forward. For such situations specifically and others in general, Islam teaches us to stay in control by ha...
SECOND REMINDER: Sunday. "The only religion approved by God (Allah) for mankind is Islam (Submission to commands of God)" 3:19. Share to others please. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Many non Muslims who read the above statement will immediately say: hold on, what about Judaism and Christianity? After all, these religions were also authorized by Allah (God)! Yes but however, if we discard all labels (Judaism, Christianity, Islam) and inspect the ideology of any of these divine revelations we would note the following relevant issues: 1- Contrary to what many believe, the word Islam is never used in the Quran as a title for the religion belonging only in the Quran nor a religion that is exclusive to the prophet Muhammad peace be upon him! The word Islam simply means Submission to God. It is necessary thus to stop thinking of Islam as the religion exclusive to the Quran, and in stead recognise Islam as a spiritual state of submitting to Allah (God)! alone for all human bein...
FIRST REMINDER: Sunday. 8th day of Rabeeul Awwal. SALVATION IN ISLAM. Bismillah. ONE OF THE BASIC ARGUMENTS RAISED BY NON-MUSLIMS, ESPECIALLY CHRISTIANS, AGAINST ISLAM CONCERNS THE CONCEPT OF SALVATION. They say that in Christianity, one is saved by faith, whereas in Islam one must earn their salvation through good deeds. How do we answer that? Unfortunately, many Muslims fall into the trap of defending the position imposed on them by these non-Muslims. This then provides the Christians with a basis for their entire Jesus-Father-Crucifixion-Salvation framework. They then go on to argue that salvation is a gift from God that cannot be earned. But if the true Islamic concept is made clear, the Christian has no basis to attack Islam. Many times, Muslims fail to realize that the Islaamic concept of salvation is not based upon good deeds, but is based primarily upon faith. In the dozens of times Allah Almighty talks in the Quran about salvation, Allah always states, "Those who bel...
THIRD REMINDER. Saturday. PROPHET MUHAMMAD SALLALLAHU ALAIYHI WASSALLAM, A MERCY TO ALL THAT EXISTS continues. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem*. Let's continue from the second reminder. MERCY WITH THE POOR AND CAPTIVES. He established the believers’ responsibility towards the weak of their societies. “Feed the hungry, visit the sick and free the captive.” (Bukhari.) MERCY WITH THE SICK; Abu Hurairah (Allah be pleased with him) narrates that Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “Whenever a Muslim visits a sick brother (Muslim) or merely goes to meet his brother, then Allah says: ‘You are holy; your walking is holy; you have arranged your abode in Jannat.’” (Tirmidhi.) MERCY WITH THE SERVANTS; Anas said: “I served the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) for ten years and he never said to me, ‘Shame!’ or ‘Why you do such and such?’ or ‘Why did you not do such and such.’” “A person who has a female slave in charge and takes steps to give her a sound education and trains...
SECOND REMINDER. Saturday. PROPHET MUHAMMAD SALLALLAHU ALAIYHI WASSALLAM, A MERCY TO ALL THAT EXISTS continues. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Frankly, Our failure to properly describe the greatness of the Messenger of Allah stems from our own incapacity to grasp the different aspects of it, and properly express what we believe about his character. The following are glimpses of his character and preaching that show how he was a mercy for all existences, sent by their Lord, the Most Merciful. Can we ever say enough about the greatest of Allah’s creations and the most noble of His servants? Certainly, we can’t. That is not because we attribute to him divinity, for that would be the greatest betrayal to his legacy, which was all about the worship of the one true Allah (exalted be He), who is distinct from His creations and who didn’t share His divinity with any of HIS CREATION. HIS BIRTH Our most beloved Prophet Muhammad (May Allah bless him and give him peace), the last Prophet an...
FIRST REMINDER. Saturday 7th day of Rabeeul Awwal. PROPHET MUHAMMAD SALLALLAHU ALAIYHI WASSALLAM, A MERCY TO ALL THAT EXISTS. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Our Beloved messenger of Allah, MUHAMMED Sallallahu alaihi wasallam was born in this month Rabeeul Awwal on Monday. There is no proof of the actual date but all we know is the fact that he was born on Monday in Rabeeul Awwal. Those quoting 12th and 9th are all guessing without any proof. 12th Rabeeul Awwal fell on Sunday last year and falling on Thursday this year so how do you justify the date? Sorry I don't celebrate it as such please avoid asking me questions on the celebration. Let's avoid wasting our time arguing with those who have decided to celebrate it. Satan only wins in such argument. Back to our topic. Allah, may He be exalted, says (to the nearest meaning): “And I have sent you (O Muhammad ) as a mercy for the Aalameen (mankind, jinns and all that exists)” [al-Anbiya’ 21:107]. As Muslims we owe Allah and...
THIRD REMINDER. FRIDAY. 6th day of Rabeeul Awwal. EXPIATION FOR TRANSGRESSION AGAINST RIGHTS OF OTHERS. Bismillah. Let's conclude on our topic today. Please request for a copy if you missed any of the reminders. If you have stolen someone's money before and knows the person or knows someone who knows him, you can tell him to look for him and give him the money, or whatever he agrees upon with him. If you don't know who he is and you thinks that you will never find him, you should give it or the equivalent in cash to a charity on behalf of its owner. If you finds him after that, you should tell him what happened; if he accepts that, all well and good, but if he objects and demands his money, then you should give it to him, and the money you gave in charity becomes an act of charity on your own behalf. You also have to ask Allah for forgiveness and repent to HIM, and pray for the other person. May Allah keep guiding us all and protect us from committing any sins. Aameen
SECOND REMINDER. FRIDAY. 6th day of Rabeeul Awwal. EXPIATION FOR TRANSGRESSION AGAINST RIGHTS OF OTHERS. Bismillah. Let's continue from the first reminder. Please request for a copy if you missed it. Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: According to the saheeh hadeeth (authentic narration): “Whoever has wronged his brother with regard to his blood, his wealth or his honour, let him come and set matters straight before there comes a Day on which there will be no dirhams and no dinars, only good deeds and bad deeds, and if he has good deeds (they will be taken and given to the one whom he wronged), otherwise some of the bad deeds of the one whom he wronged will be taken and added to his burden, then he will be thrown into the Fire.” This has to do with cases where the one who was wronged was aware of it; but if he was gossiped about or slandered and he does not know, then it was said that one of the conditions of repentance is telling him, or it was sa...
FIRST REMINDER. FRIDAY. 6th day of SAFAR. EXPIATION FOR TRANSGRESSION AGAINST RIGHTS OF OTHERS. Bismillah. On our reminders yesterday, we reminded each other that Allah forgive all sins if we sincerely regret and seek forgiveness. Today's reminders will focus on sins against others which we all know Allah does not forgive unless those we offended forgives us. With regard to sins that have to do with the rights of other people, they can only be expiated by repenting from them. One of the conditions of repenting from them is restoring the rights of those who have been wronged.  Imam Muslim narrated from ‘Abd-Allah ibn ‘Amr ibn al-‘As (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The martyr will be forgiven for all his sins except debt.” Al-Nawawi said in Sharh Muslim:  The words of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) “except debt” draw attention to all rights owed to other people. Jihad (fightin...
THIRD REMINDER. Thursday. HAVE YOU LOST HOPE IN ALLAH?. Don't miss reading this please. Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's conclude on our topic today. If you missed any of the two reminders today please request for a copy. The action points are in two folds: 1- Immune yourself against sin and against being an easy prey to Shaytan. How? Maintain all obligatory prayers on time. Make sure to recite adhkar regularly every day. They keep a lot of harm away and protect the person inwardly and outwardly. Engage with the Qur’an. Must read and/or listen to the words of Allah everyday. They keep one in check. Listen to or attend lectures of tafseer of Qur’an (exegesis and commentary). Try to also study and memorize Qur’an to the best of your ability. Have righteous friends. Have righteous friends. Have righteous friends and keep their company as much as possible. They remind you of Allah, encourage you for goodness and take your mind off sins. Recite Surat Al Baqarah whenever you fe...
SECOND REMINDER. Thursday. 5th day of Rabeeul Awwal. HAVE YOU LOST HOPE IN ALLAH?. Don't miss reading this please. Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue from the first reminder. Request for a copy if you missed it. Accept my apology for wrong day/date shared in the first reminder. Please always read through and correct any error before sharing. There is something VERY important that you need to remember always which is the fact that, Shaytan (the accursed devil) has 2 major techniques: 1- To make the sin seem appealing, approachable and easy to do. 2- Once the sin is committed, he makes asking for forgiveness and repentance seem impossible/fake/useless so that the person feels worthless and give up. So don’t give him that. Be conscious of his techniques, immune and empower yourself. Allah says: “[… and despair not of relief from Allah. Indeed, no one despairs of relief from Allah except the disbelieving people” (Qur’an 12: 87). Giving up and falling in despair is eq...
FIRST REMINDER. Tuesday. 5th day of Safar. HAVE YOU LOST HOPE IN ALLAH?. Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. There is this one sin that we keep falling in again and again…and again. We keep on repenting and seeking forgiveness but we fall into it again and again. You give up. You submit to doing more sins. You think you’re hopeless. You fill your heart and mind with dark/desperate/hopeless thoughts. You think you’re worthless. You drown in negativity and desperation. At the end, those with no or weak eemaan commit suicide. If you fall in these category of Muslims, then Stop This Now! Never buy into this! Never. The battle is not over. You didn’t lose. You have the power to come back stronger and more triumphant than you ever were. Allah’s Mercy and Forgiveness are there for You! Yes for you! The only loser is the one who whispers to you thoughts of hopelessness and desperation and that's sheitaan. If you are reading this, then think of it as a message from The Most Merciful! Listen...
THIRD REMINDER. Wednesday. SOME CONDITIONS TO FULFILL FOR ALLAH TO ANSWER OUR DUA. BismilLah. Let's conclude on today's reminders. If you missed any please request for a copy. Consuming haraam wealth is one of the major reasons why du’aa’s are not answered. Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “O people, Allaah is Good and only accepts that which is good. Allaah commanded the pious to follow the same commandments as He gave to the Messengers. He says; ‘O (you) Messengers! Eat of the Tayyibaat [all kinds of Halaal (lawful) foods which Allaah has made lawful (meat of slaughtered eatable animals, milk products, fats, vegetables, fruits)] and do righteous deeds. Verily, I am Well-Acquainted with what you do’ [al-Mu’minoon 23:51]. ‘O you who believe (in the Oneness of Allaah, Islamic Monotheism)! Eat of the lawful things that I have provided you with’ [al-Baqarah 2:172]. Another important p...
SECOND REMINDER. Wednesday. SOME CONDITIONS TO FULFILL FOR ALLAH TO ANSWER OUR DUA. BismilLah. Let's continue from the first reminder by studying some conditions required for our dua to be accepted by Allah. Sincerity in making du’aa’. This is the most important condition. Allaah has commanded us to be sincere when making du’aa. Sincerity in du’aa’ means having the firm belief that the One upon Whom you are calling, Allaah, may HE be glorified and exalted, is alone Able to meet your need, and it also means avoiding any kind of showing off in your du’aa’. Repentance and turning back to Allaah. Sin is one of the main reasons why du’aa’s are not answered, so the person who is making du’aa’ should hasten to repent and seek forgiveness before he makes du’aa’. The reason why du’aa’ is not answered may be because you do something that Allaah has forbidden, such as having haraam wealth, whether it be food or drink or clothing or accommodation or transportation, or taken a haraam job, ...
FIRST REMINDER. Wednesday. SOME CONDITIONS TO FULFILL FOR ALLAH TO ANSWER OUR DUA. BismilLah. Yesterday Tuesday, I was listening to Sheikh Bashir Nyando of Ghana and he mentioned why our dua may not even reach ALLAH which most of us know but as ALLAH says reminders only benefit believers as such we must remind each other regularly because it's a serious issue. Let's note that Dua or seeking favour or mercy from the most HIGH, ALLAH is like a weapon, and a weapon is only as good as the person who is using it; it is not merely the matter of how sharp it is. If the weapon is perfect and free of faults, and the arm of the person using it is strong, and there is nothing stopping him, he has experience in using the weapon then he can lay waste the enemy or his target without fail. But if any of these features is lacking, then the effect will be lacking accordingly.” We must learn to address ALLAH through Respect and pure heart. Allah is the most HIGH as such HE accept nothing u...
THIRD REMINDER. Tuesday. Swearing a false oath or lying in order to reconcile between two disputing parties. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's conclude on today's Reminders. Please request for a copy if you missed any. Imam Ahmad (26731) narrated that Umm Kalthoom bint ‘Uqbah said: I never heard the Messenger of Allah grant a concession allowing any kind of lying except in three cases: a man who says something intending thereby to bring about reconciliation; a man who says something at the time of war; and a man talking to his wife or a woman talking to her husband. Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in as-Saheehah, 545. The concession is granted only in these three cases and similar cases. In all other cases the lawgiver has not allowed any concession, so lying remains forbidden.  Indeed what the Muslim should do, especially Muslims who live in kaafir societies, is to be keen to be honest and to avoid lying to the kaafirs, even more keen than he is to avoid lying to the b...
SECOND REMINDER. Tuesday. Swearing a false oath or lying in order to reconcile between two disputing parties. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Whomsoever Allaah honours and enables him to reconcile between Muslims, if he needs to convey a good message even if not the truth in order to reconcile between them, there is no sin on him for that, and it is not permissible to describe him as a liar, because the matter is serious; it is the matter of shar’i interests which means that in this case, lying is permissible, as it is narrated in al-Saheehayn from the hadeeth of Umm Kalthoom bint ‘Uqbah (may Allaah be pleased with her) that she heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say: “He is not a liar who reconciles between people, conveying good messages and saying good things.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 2546; Muslim, 2605. If necessity dictate that a false oath be sworn, there is no sin in that, because it is proven in the hadeeth of Umm Kalthoom bint ‘Uqbah ibn Abi Mu’ee...
FIRST REMINDER. Tuesday. 3rd day of Rabeeul Awwal. SWEARING BY OTHER THAN ALLAH IS AN ACT OF SHIRK. BismilLah The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Allah prohibits you from swearing by your fathers, so whoever swears, let him swear by Allah only or shut up. [Bukhari & Muslim]. It is stated in another Hadeeth of the Prophet (peace be upon him) that: "Whoever swears by other than Allah has committed shirk" [Ahmad, Tirmidhee & Al-Haakim]. Swearing is allowed in Islam, but a person can only swear by Allah only if you are saying the truth. If you swear by anything else, then this is an aspect of Shirk. To swear by the moon or the star or any of Allah's creation, is Haraam. Allah can swear by whatever He wants to, but we can only swear by Him. The common practice among many Muslims to swear by the Quran is a Bid'ah (innovation), and should be discouraged. Even though Quran is the speech of Allah and not created, the Prophet never included Quran as permite...
THIRD REMINDER. Monday. UNITING THE UMMAH MUST BE OUR PRIORITY. BismilLah. The whole Muslim UMMAH is nowadays facing numerous problems in terms of politics, sectarians and conspiracy of anti-Islamic groups. The entire situation has come to the present in such a condition where the whole world has fallen into crisis. This is not the time to argue whether the Muslims are responsible but to think about how we can overcome this crisis to unite the Muslim UMMAH in order to uphold peace in the world. When a nation is united it becomes invincible in the world and no other nation dares to confront such power. The truth is that our enemies are not bigger than our non-unity. Focusing on this point, the Almighty has sent down a verse upon His beloved messenger Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) which says, “And hold fast, all together, unto the bond with God, and do not draw apart from one another.” ’ (Al Qur’an, 3:103). The suffering we are witnessing today is nothing but our own fault. ...
SECOND REMINDER. Monday. Muslim Brotherhood in the Quran and Sunnah. Real believers are those who say: Our Lord, forgive us and our brothers who preceded us in faith and put not in our hearts any resentment toward those who have faith. Our Lord, you are kind and merciful. Surat al-Hashr 59:10. This verse clearly highlight the fact that whoever hate past righteous predecessors especially the companions of the Prophet is a sign of disbelief. Anas ibn Malik reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: لَا تَبَاغَضُوا وَلَا تَحَاسَدُوا وَلَا تَدَابَرُوا وَكُونُوا عِبَادَ اللَّهِ إِخْوَانًا وَلَا يَحِلُّ لِمُسْلِمٍ أَنْ يَهْجُرَ أَخَاهُ فَوْقَ ثَلَاثٍ Do not hate each other, do not envy each other, do not turn away from each other, but rather ...
FIRST REMINDER. Monday. 2nd day of Rabeeul Awwal. Brotherhood/ sisterhood in Islam. BismilLah Allah says: "The Believers are but a single brotherhood . . .Qur'an 49:10). The brotherhood of faith is the strongest of bonds between hearts and minds. It comes as no surprise to see that Muslim brothers and sisters enjoy a strong, enduring relationship that is based on love for the sake of Allah (SWT), which is the noblest and purest form of love between human beings. This is a love which is untainted by any worldly interest or ulterior motive. It is the love in which Muslim men and women find the sweetness of faith: "There are three things that whoever attains them will find the sweetness of faith: if Allah (SWT) and His Messenger are dearer to him than anyone or anything else; if he loves a person solely for the sake of Allah (SWT); and if he would hate to return to kufr after Allah (SWT) has rescued him from it, as much as he would hate to be thrown into the Fire."...
THIRD REMINDER. Sunday. Having intercourse with one's wife in her rectum(Anus) IS FORBIDDEN. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Some perverted people who have little faith do not hesitate to have intercourse with a woman in her rectum (the place from which excrement emerges). This is a major sin, and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) cursed the one who does this. Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “He is cursed, the one who has intercourse with a woman in her rectum.”(Reported by Imaam Ahmad, 2/479; see alsoSaheeh al-Jaami’, 5865).  Although there are many righteous and sensible women who refuse to do this, there are many husbands who threaten their wives with divorce if they do not comply. Some husbands even deceive their wives who my be too shy to ask a scholar about this matter; they tell them that this is halaal, and they may even misquote the Qur’aan to support their cl...
SECOND REMINDER. Sunday. Having intercourse with one’s wife during her period is forbidden. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Allaah says: “They ask you concerning menstruation. Say: that is an adhaa (a harmful thing for a husband to have sexual intercourse with his wife while she is having her menses), therefore keep away from women during menses and go not unto them till they have purified (from menses and have taken a bath) . . .” [al-Baqarah 2:222]. So a man is not permitted to approach his wife until her period has ended and she has taken a bath (ghusl). Allaah says: “. . . And when they have purified themselves, then go in unto them as Allaah has ordained for you . . . “ [al-Baqarah 2:222]. The repulsive nature of this sin is indicated by the words of the Prophet (pace and blessings of Allaah be upon him): “Whoever has intercourse with a menstruating women, or with a woman in her rectum, or goes to a fortune-teller, has disbelieved in what was revealed to Muhammad.” (Reported b...
FIRST REMINDER. Sunday. 1st day of Rabeeul Awwal. ASKING YOUR HUSBAND FOR A DIVORCE FOR NO LEGITIMATE REASON. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Before I commence on this topic, let me remind all brothers that the sister you decide to marry is a contract you are signing through her parents and ALLAH to be her protector, to cater for her, to create companionship between the two for Halaal sexual relationship, to prepare her well towards raising Rightours children who will become sadaqatul Jaariya(To pray and seek forgiveness for us after our death) etc. She may also be created barren as a test for you to cater for her through patience till Jannat becomes the abode for both which must be our priority in life. If you deny her, her rights most importantly you stop feeding her, she has Islamic right to deny you sexual relationship and has right to seek divorce and you must grant her Request or face Allah on judgement day if the imams cancels the Marriage by force which is permissible after me...
THIRD REMINDER. Saturday. Obedience to our Parents continues. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem. On the authority of Abu Usaid Malik Ibn Rubia Al-Saedi (R.A), who said: While we were sitting with the Prophet (S.A.W.) a man of the Bani Salamah tribe came and said: "O Prophet (S.A.W.)! Is there anything, I can now do in kindness towards my parents after their death? The Prophet (S.A.W.) answered: "Yes, by praying for them and soliciting mercy and forgiveness towards them, fulfilling their promises and undertakings, doing kindness to those who may be related to you through them, and respecting their friends." -(Abu Daoud). You should always try to please your parents and avoid deeds that may hurt their feelings, especially when they get old and short-tempered. In old age people do tend to make unusual demands and claims but it should be tolerated cheerfully without any retort in anger or frustration. Let's ignore whatever mistakes our parents and let's strive to plea...
SECOND REMINDER. Saturday. Let's continue on our topic on obedience to our Parents. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem. On the authority of Abu Ayub Khalid Ibun Zaid Al-Ansari(R.A.), who said: A man requested; "Prophet (S.A.W)! Tell me the action which will get me admitted to Paradise and keep me away from the Hell." He answered: "Worship Almighty and do not associate anybody with Him: establish Prayer; pay Zakat and join the ties of kinship." -(Bukhari and Muslim). On the authority of Jubair bin Mut'im (R.A.), who said: The Prophet (S.A.W.) said: "He who breaks off the ties of blood will not enter Paradise." -(Bukhari and Muslim). Note: This Hadith preaches the person who breaks off relations with his family by not visiting them or helping them will not go to Paradise. SubhaanAllah. May Allah protect us from any family wars.
FIRST REMINDER. Saturday. 29th day of SAFAR. THE IMPORTANCE of OBEDIENCE to OUR PARENTS. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem. The respect we ought to pay our parents has been time and time again emphasized in the Holy Qur'an. In one of the verses it is stated: "Thy Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him, and you be kind to your parents." (Qur'an 17:23). Let's Be grateful with our parents. It is one of the cardinal principles of good manners and the acknowledgement of debt to them. One should be grateful to the parents for all the kindness, extraordinary love, and unparalleled sacrifices they under went in bringing us up. The Almighty has decreed that when we render thanks to Him, we should express gratitude to our parents as well. Allah says: "And Allah has enjoined on man (To be good) to his parents: In travail upon travail did his mother bear him. And in years twain was his weaning: (hear the command), 'Show gratitude to Me and to thy parents: to M...
THIRD REMINDER. FRIDAY. PERFECTION of OUR DUA IF WE WANT IT TO BE ANSWERED BY ALLAH. BismilLah We can and should make Dua in every condition, i.e. in hardship and in prosperity. There are also some special times to make Dua where it is more likely to be accepted: When one is oppressed. Between the time of Athan and Iqama. After the call for prayer. When it is raining When one is sick. The last third of the night that's few hours to fajir. In Ramadan (especially Lailatul Qadr). After the Fard part of prayer individually. When traveling. When breaking fast. In Sujood On Fridays, some say on Friday after Asr prayer. While drinking the water from the well of Zamzam etc. In the end there can be reasons why the Dua might not be answered such as not fulfilling conditions like some of the ones listed above or: Divine Wisdom, trying to hurry the response of one's Dua, Dua for what is sinful or the breaking off of relations, eating, drinking, or dressing from what is Haram, not bein...
SECOND REMINDER. FRIDAY. PERFECTION of OUR DUA IF WE WANT IT TO BE ANSWERED BY ALLAH. BismilLah Dua is defined as any invocation or prayer addressed to Allah (SWT) alone. In our times, we find many reasons why people do not make Dua; we forget, don't know how and make it any how, or just do not think it will be answered due to our lack of knowledge. Fundamental to this is the loss of dependence and trust upon Allah. As Muslims there is something very wrong when we believe our Duas won't be answered. We do not turn to Allah in our times of need and instead put our trust, dependence and hopes on worldly things that we think will help us. We find many re-assurances of Allah throughout the Quran for those who make Dua. Allah the Exalted, has said: "And your Lord says: Pray unto me: and I will hear your prayer" (Quran40:60),"Call upon your Lord Humbly and in secret" (Quran 7:55) "When My servants question thee concerning Me, I am indeed close(to them): ...
FIRST REMINDER*. FRIDAY. 28th day of SAFAR. LETS REMEMBER OUR BELOVED MESSENGER OF ALLAH Sallallahu alaihi wasallam. *BismilLah*. Many Muslims do ask why we send Salutations to the prophet each day especially on Fridays. Sending salutations upon the Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) is amongst the most virtuous acts of worship. Rewards are written; a person’s sins are forgiven; and his status is elevated. It's a command from Allah and the wisdom is real that we are showing our appreciation for his love for us. We do that to seek the pleasure on us so that HE can unite us with our beloved messenger on judgement day. The Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: “Whoever sends Salutations upon me once, Allah will send Salutations upon him ten-fold, and will erase ten sins from him, and will raise him ten degrees in status.” [Narrated by Nasai #1297 V.3 Pg.50; and Haakim in Mustadrak 1/550 (He said, it is authentic and Zahabi agreed); and Ibn Hibban in his Saheeh #904 (...
THIRD REMINDER. Thursday. WHAT IS THE MEANING OF FAITH (EEMAAN). Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Faith (eemaan) consists of statement (qawl) and action (aamal). It increases with obedience and decreases with disobedience in the commands of Allah. It comprises of statement of the heart and the tongue, and comprises action by the heart, tongue and limbs. The statement of the heart is its; beliefs (i'tiqaad), and its affirmation that these beliefs are true (tasdeeq). The statement of the tongue is its acknowledgement of these beliefs (iqraar). The action of the heart is its surrender (tasleem) to Allaah, its purity and sincerity (ikhlaas) to Allaah, its submission (idhaanah) to Him, its love (hubb) and its desire (iraadah) to do righteous actions. The action of the limbs is to do that which has been ordered and to leave that which has been prohibited. May Allah grant us understanding of HIS Commands. Aameen.
SECOND REMINDER. Thursday. THE QUR'AN, THE DIRECT SPEECH OF ALLAH FOR MANKIND. Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue from the First Reminder. Please request for a copy if you missed receiving the first. Whoever denies anything of the Qur'aan, or claims that parts of it have been deleted, added, or corrupted, is an unbeliever or has nullified his or her shahaadah. It is obligatory to explain the Qur'aan in accordance with the well-known methodology of the Salaf(predecessors). It is not permissible to explain the Qur'aan by mere opinion, since this amounts to speaking about Allaah without due knowledge. Explaining the Qur'aan using esoteric interpretations (ta`weelaatul-baatiniyyah) and its like is actually a form of kufr as many of the deviated sects are doing to deviate more people. Let's study the Qur'an through the commentaries giving by the Prophet through his companions and their predecessors (The Salafs) as we think bcs Islam is not as ...
FIRST REMINDER. Thursday. THE QUR'AN, THE DIRECT SPEECH OF ALLAH FOR MANKIND. Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. The Qur'aan is the Direct Speech (kalaam) of ALLAH, in both WORDING and MEANING. It was sent down and is uncreated (ghayr makhlooq). From ALLAH it originated and to HIM shall it return. It is an inimitable miracle, indicative of the truthfulness of what the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam was sent with. Its text and meanings are preserved from corruption until the Day of judgement. That's what Allah says. ALLAH the Most High Speaks WHATEVER HE wills, WHEN HE wills and HOW HE wills and it's to perfection. The Speech of ALLAH is real (haqeeqah), with letter (harf) and voice (sawt), but we do not know about the modality and how it is (kayfiyyah), nor do we debate about it or delve into it. As believers, we here and we obey no but no if and that's one of the meaning of the Shahaada. As Muslims, it's compulsory to study the QUR'AN without ANY excu...
THIRD REMINDER. Wednesday. HALAAL WEALTH IS FROM ALLAH AND HARAAM WEALTH FROM SATAN. Bismillah. Our beloved messenger of ALLAH (sallalahu `alayhi wa sallam) said "A time will come when a person will not care about how he or she has acquired things legally or illegally." (Sahih al-Bukharee). In order to understand Allah’s Name ar-Razzaaq, we need to know what rizq means. Rizq is what has been apportioned for you which benefits you. So Allah (swt) is ar-Razzaaq meanimg He is the One who creates your rizq, and takes it upon HIMSELF to deliver what HE has apportioned to HIS servants. HE provides this sustenance to everyone: Muslims and non-Muslims, woman and man, humans and animals and plants. It encompasses everything on earth. Allah (swt) says in the Qur’an: “And there is no creature on earth but that upon Allah is its provision [rizq], and He knows its place of dwelling and place of storage. All is in a clear register.” (Qur’an, 11:6). Allahu Akbar. Allah says again; “And ...
SECOND REMINDER. Wednesday. HARAAM MEANS OF SUSTENANCE IS A SOURCE OF DESTRUCTION. Bismillah. Sustenance of a person is predestined by Allah but when a person because of his own inclination desires that sustenance from a Haraam source, Allah Ta’aalaa then permit that Haraam avenue for him and he receives it from there. This does still not make the use of that Haraam permissible for him. His duty is to adopt patience and wait for it to come from a Halaal source. Impatience of man makes him adopt ways and means which are Haraam. The act of gambling in itself is Haraam and he should not have participated in this Haraam act. But because he adopted this Haraam means, he received Haraam income which now becomes a burden upon him. Some scholars says that Haraam income is not considered Rizq(wealth from Allah), though it was ordained by Allah that one would indulge in a certain act (through his or her own free will) and thereby earn Haraam. Rizq is that which is Halaal. It comes in a Hadee...
FIRST REMINDER. Wednesday. 26th day of SAFAR. ALLAH'S BLESSINGS VS SATAN'S BLESSINGS. Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Our beloved Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said in his farewell Hajj: “Wherever and in whatever circumstances you are, fear Allah.” [Narrated by Imam Tirmidhi]. Fearing Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) logically entails fearing to disobey Him. The advantage of obeying Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) extends to both this world and the Hereafter. Allah's says in the holy Quran; “And whosoever fears Allah and keeps his duty to Him, He will make a way for him to get out (from every difficulty). And He will provide him from (sources) he never could imagine.” [Surah at-Talaaq, Ayat 2-3]. There is something very serious that we ignore in life and that's the fact that whatever Allah provide to HIS creation as blessings, Satan also provide it's opposite towards disobedience. Example Allah and HIS Messenger has commanded and encouraged us to earn the h...
THIRD REMINDER. Tuesday. TIMES FOR OUR DAILY SALAAH(PROGRAMED ACTS OF WORSHIP). Bismillah. Let's conclude on our topic today. Please request for copy if you missed any. The time of Maghrib; The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The time for Maghrib lasts until the twilight has faded.” i.e., the time for Maghrib starts immediately after the time for ‘Asr ends, which is when the sun sets, until the twilight or red afterglow has faded. When the red afterglow has disappeared from the sky, the time for Maghrib ends and the time for ‘Isha’ begins. Defining this time by the clock varies according to the season. When you see that the red afterglow has disappeared from the horizon, this is a sign that the time for Maghrib has ended. The time of ‘Isha. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The time for ‘Isha’ lasts until midnight.” So the time for ‘Isha’ begins immediately after the time for Maghrib ends (i.e., when the red afterglow d...
