THIRD REMINDER. Saturday. ALLAH BLESSED OUR IMAM AL-HUSAYN WITH MARTYRDOM Continues. BismilLaah Let's continue from the second Reminder. Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Yazeed ibn Mu‘aawiyah was born during the caliphate of ‘Uthmaan ibn ‘Affaan (may Allah be pleased with him) and did not meet the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). He was not one of the Sahaabah, according to scholarly consensus, and he was not one of those who were well known for religious commitment and righteousness. He was one of the Muslim youth, and he was not a disbeliever or a heretic. He became the caliph after his father died, despite the objections of some of the Muslims and with the approval of some of them. He was courageous and generous, and he did not outwardly blatantly commit immoral actions, as some of his opponents said that he did. During his rule, a number of grievous events occurred, one of which was the killing of al-Husayn (may Allah be ...
SECOND REMINDER. Saturday. ALLAH BLESSED OUR IMAM AL-HUSAYN WITH MARTYRDOM. Bit long but worth reading. BismilLaah As we fast today praise Allah for saving Musah alayhi salaam with his people through the sea and drowned Fir'aun, let's also remember how wrongly some ignorance killed Imam Husayn on this same day of Ashoorah. He was one of the beloved grandsons of the Prophet sallallahu alaiyhi wassallam who was martyred in Karbala. May Allah grant him Jannatul Firdaus. Aameen. Let me share little about this incidence so that we can avoid listening to the Shia lies. Firstly, Imam al-Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) was killed as a martyr which the Prophet actually prophesied will happen bcs to die as a martyr is a blessings. Secondly, Imam Husayn has nothing in common with the deviated acts of the shias today. He was one of the Imams of Islam who was upon haqq (the truth) of Quran and Sunnah. He was strictly ahlul sunnah. Actually the entire Ahlul Bayt were strictly Ahlu...
FIRST REMINDER. Saturday. 10th day of Muharram. QUESTION: ARE THE SHIAS RIGHT TO HARM THEMSELVES TO MOURN THE DEATH OF SOME OF OUR IMAMS? BismilLah IN RESPONSE, Shaykh Muhammad Saalih al-Munajjid says: What the Shi’ah do on ‘Ashoora’ of beating their chests, slapping their cheeks, striking their shoulders with chains and cutting their heads with swords to let the blood flow are all innovations that have no basis in Islam. These things are evils that were forbidden by the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), who did not prescribe for his ummah to do any of these things or anything similar to them to mark the death of a leader or the loss of a martyr, no matter what his status. During his lifetime (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) a number of senior Sahaabah were martyred and he mourned their loss, such as Hamzah ibn ‘Abd al-Muttalib, Zayd ibn Haarithah, Ja’far ibn Abi Taalib and ‘Abd-Allaah ibn Rawaahah, but he did not do any of the things that these people ...
THIRD REMINDER. FRIDAY. Let's conclude on our summary of Suuratul Kahf. Bismillaah Knowing the Realities of Life: Allah says to the nearest meaning; "And put forward to them the example of the life of this world, it is like the water (rain) which ALLAH send down from the sky, and the vegetation of the earth mingles with it, and becomes fresh and green. But (later) it becomes dry and broken pieces, which the winds scatter. And is able to do everything. Suurat Al-Kahf, Aayah 45. Humility: He (Moses) said; "If Allah will, you will find me patient, and I will not disobey you in aught." Suurat Al-Kahf, Aayah 69). Sincerity: Say (O Muhammad); "I'm only a man like you. It has been inspired to me that your ilaah(God) is one ilaah(God). So whoever hopes for the meeting with his Lord, let him work righteousness and associate none as a partner in the worship of his Lord. (Suurat Al-Kahf, Aayah 110). May Allah save us from the trials which are obvious and hidden. ...
SECOND REMINDER. FRIDAY. LETS CONTINUE WITH OUR SUMMARY OF SUURATUL KAHF. BismilLah So now the question is, what is the relationship of Suurat Al-Kahf to the dajjaal? From the summary we will noticed that dajjaal will put us into the trial of our Eemaan, trial of wealth, trial of knowledge and trial of authority before the day of judgement. > He will ask people to worship him instead of Allah. > He will order the sky to rain and he will tempt people with his wealth. > he will try people with knowledge due to what he reveals to people of news > he will control major parts of the earth except Macca and Madinah In shaa Allah. Good Companionship: In this Suurat, Allah advised or commanded the prophet in chapter 28 as follows; And keep yourself (O Muhammad) patiently with those who call on their Lord (i.e. Your Companions who remember their Lord with glorification, praising in prayers, etc., and other righteous deeds, etc). Morning and afternoon, seeking Allah's face...
FIRST REMINDER. Friday. 9th day of Muharram. Summary of Suurat Al-Kahf (Quran 18). I have been sharing this Reminder for many years now as a constant reminder, the wisdom behind reciting/studying this suurah each Friday. Lets read through and get motivated to study the suurah for Allah Sake. BismilLah This Suurat has 4 stories, 1. The People of the Cave which talk about trial of eemaan. 2. The Owner of the two gardens, which talk about trial of wealth and children. 3. Muusah (A.S) & Khidir (A.S), which is about trial of knowledge. And 4. Dhul Qarnayn, which talk about trial of authority. The first two deals with good companionship and knowing the reality of life which is calling to Allah. The 3rd and 4th point deals with humility and sincerity in remembering the hereafter. All these are the boats of success. The story of the believing young men who were living in a disbelieving country. They decided to leave their homes and run away with their religion and eemaan after a co...
*THIRD REMINDER*. Thursday. _*LET'S DECLARE JIHAD AGAINST OUR BAD DEEDS_*. BismilLah* Jihad means to struggle for the sake of Allah in a righteous cause. It takes many forms such as the inward struggle to achieve a pure heart, the struggle against sinful temptations, the struggle to help others in need, and the struggle to educate our communities. When necessary, jihad can refer to an armed struggle in defense of the community against those who strive to stop us worshiping our creator. Islamic scholars have written at length about the inward struggle against sinful desires been the most Important jihad to strive for. In contrast, the term “holy war” (harb al-muqaddis) was never used by the Prophet, his companions, or the great Muslim scholars who succeeded them. The mujahid is one who wages jihad against himself in obedience to Allah, and the emigrant is one who emigrates from sin and evil. Musnad Ahmad 23438, Graded: Sahih. Based upon this narration, Ibn Al-Qayyim said:  The...
SECOND REMINDER. Thursday. THE BEST WEEK OF MUHARRAM Continues. BismilLaah Let's continue from the first Reminder. It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “The best fast after Ramadan is in the month of Allah Muharram.”Narrated by Muslim (1982). We are encouraged to fast each Mondays and Thursdays so hopefully we are all Fasting today. Then tomorrow Friday is 9th day of Muharram which is recommended to fast then 10th of Muharram which is the day of Aashuura, the day Allah saved Musah alayhi salaam with his followers and drowned Fir'aun and we fast to praise Allah bcs Musah alayhi salaam is one of the Messengers of Allah who was a Muslim. Then Saturday 11th of Muharram is also a recommended second day of Aashuura to fast if you can. You can rest on the 12th day of Muharram. Then Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday which are the 13th, 14th and 15th are the middle days of the m...
FIRST REMINDER. Thursday. 8th day of Muharram. THE BEST WEEK OF MUHARRAM BEGINS TODAY. BismilLaah The month of Muharram is a great and blessed month. It is the first month of the Hijri year and is one of the sacred months concerning which Allah says (To the nearest meaning): “Verily, the number of months with Allah is twelve months (in a year), so was it ordained by Allah on the Day when He created the heavens and the earth; of them four are Sacred, (i.e. the 1st, the 7th, the 11th and the 12th months of the Islamic calendar). That is the right religion, so wrong not yourselves therein”[Soorat at-Tawbah 9:36]. The words of Allah (interpretation of the meaning): “so wrong not yourselves therein” [Soorat at-Tawbah 9:36] mean: (do not wrong yourselves) in these sacred months, because doing so is a greater sin than at other times. It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbaas said, concerning the words of Allah “so wrong not yourselves therein” [Soorat at-Tawbah 9:36]: (The command not to wrong y...
THIRD REMINDER. Wednesday. WHAT TO SAY IMMEDIATELY AFTER EACH SALAAT Continues. BismilLah. Let's strive to Live a life of a Muslim not by name but by action. Our way of life must reflect the commands of Allah and His Messenger. Let's not just adhere only to what imams say when it comes to acts of worship. Buy authentic books by Sunnah Scholars such as How the Prophet prayed by Sheikh Albani or any authentic books published by *darulsalaam* on salaat and other aqeedah or usuul fiqh topics to read for yourself without following blindly because most of our local imams today especially in Africa only studied how to recite QUR'AN and that's why they are imams without studying other important aqeedah topics that helps us to be knowledgeable Muslims. Lets live like a prisoner without freedom and be slaves of Allah so that in return He can grant us Jannat with His Rahmah to meet our beloved Messenger of Allah, meet all the companions like AbuBakr, Uthman, Umar, Ali (Allah ...
SECOND REMINDER. Wednesday. WHAT TO SAY IMMEDIATELY AFTER EACH SALAAT Continues. BismilLah. Let's continue from the first Reminder. After all the Azkaar mentioned in the first Reminder, we can recite any Dua or seek any help from Allah. We should praise Allah first then send Salutations to the prophet before making dua for our needs. After our dua we should end it with another salaat Alan Nabi then say AlhamdulilLah at the end. Some recommended azkaar are as follows; "Allahumma la mani’a lima a’tayta wa la mu’tiya lima mana’ta wa la yanfa’u dha’l-jaddi minka al-jadd. O Allah, none can withhold what You give and none can give what You withhold, and no wealth or majesty can benefit anyone for from You is all wealth and majesty). The Sunnah is for the imam, the person who prays on his own and the person who prays behind an imam to recite these adhkar in a moderate voice that is not loud, in an ordinary tone to your own hearing. It is not permissible to recite out loud in un...
FIRST REMINDER. Wednesday. 7th day of Muharram. WHAT TO SAY IMMEDIATELY AFTER EACH SALAAT. BismilLah. The Sunnah (Prophetic guidance) is for the Muslim to say after every obligatory prayer, whether he or she prayed as an imam (leader) or behind an imam or on his or her own is to say Astaghfirullah (I ask Allah for forgiveness) three times, then Allahumma anta al-salam wa minka al-salam tabarakta ya dhal-jalaali wa’l-ikraam (O Allah, You are the One Who is free from all defects and deficiencies and from You is all peace, blessed are You, O Possessor of majesty and honour). After this then we should follow the sunnah as follows; Reported by Abu Hurayrah(RA) from the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him): “Whoever glorifies Allaah (says Subhaan Allaah) thirty-three times immediately after each prayer, and praises Allaah (says Al-hamdu Lillaah) thirty-three times, and magnifies Allaah (says Allaahu akbar) thirty-three times, this makes ninety-nine, then to com...
THIRD REMINDER. Tuesday. TEN (10) TYPES of KUFUR to be CAREFUL about continues. Share on your page or group to warn others about them for Allah sake.   BismilLah. Lets continue from the second Reminder 7. Kufrul-Istihlaal: Disbelief out of trying to make HARAM into HALAL. This applies to someone who accepts as lawful (Halal) that which Allah has made unlawful(Haram) like alcohol or adultery. Only Allah has the prerogative to make things Halal and Haram and those who seek to interfere with His right are like rivals to Him and therefore fall outside the boundaries of faith.   8. Kufrul-Kurh: Disbelief out of detesting any of Allah's commands. The Qur'an states: "And those who disbelieve, perdition is for them, and He will make their actions vain; That is because they are averse to that which Allah hath revealed, therefore make He their actions fruitless."[Soorah Muhammed (47), Ayah 8-9]   9. Kufrul-Istihzaa: Disbelief due to mockery and derision. The Qur'an s...
SECOND REMINDER. Tuesday. TEN (10) TYPES of KUFUR to be CAREFUL about continues. Share on your or group to warn others about them for Allah sake.   BismilLah. Lets continue from the first Reminder. 4. Kufrul-Kibr: Disbelief out of arrogance and pride. The disbelief by the devil (Iblees) is an example of this type of Kufr.   5. Kufrul-Juhood: Disbelief out of rejection. This applies to someone who acknowledges the truth in his heart, but rejects it with his tongue. This types of kufr is applicable to those who calls themselves Muslims but who reject any necessary and accepted norms of Islam such as Salaat and Zakat. The Qur'an states: "And they denied them, though their souls acknowledged them, for spite and arrogance. Then see the nature of the consequence for the wrong-doers!" [Soorah Naml(27), Ayah 14]   6. Kufrul-Nifaaq: Disbelief out of hypocrisy. This applies to someone who pretends to be a believer but conceals his disbelief. Such a person is called a MUNAFI...
FIRST REMINDER. Tuesday. TEN (10) TYPES of KUFUR to be CAREFUL about. Share on your page or group to warn others about them for Allah sake.   BismilLah. 1. Kufrul-Istibdaal: Disbelief because of trying to substitute Allah's Laws. This could take the form of: (a) Rejection of Allah's law (Sharee'ah) without denying it, (b)denial of Allah's law and therefore rejecting it, or (c) Substituting Allah's laws with "artificial"(i.e. non-Muslim) laws. The Qur'an states: "And if Allah had pleased He would surely have made them a single community, but He makes whom He pleases enter into His mercy, and the unjust it is that shall have no guardian or helper." [Soorah Shuraa(42), Ayah 8]. The Qur'an says:"Truly, Allâh is with those who fear Him (keep their duty unto Him), and those who are doers of good and righteousness." [Soorah Nahl (16), Ayah 116]. 2. Kufrul-'Inaad: Disbelief out of stubbornness. This applies to someone who knows...
THIRD REMINDER. Monday. RULINGS on GOOD DREAMS. Bismillah If a Muslim sees a good dream, it is recommended for him to do the following: He should praise and thank Allah, may He be glorified. He may interpret it himself or discuss it with a knowledgeable person who may interpret it for him. He should not tell anyone about it except someone who may give him good advice, or someone who is wise, or someone he loves. He should not inform someone who may become jealous of him. The evidence for this is the report of Abu Sa’eed al-Khudri (may Allaah be pleased with him): “The Prophet SAWS (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: ‘If anyone of you sees a dream that he likes, then it is from Allah, and he should thank Allah for it and tell it to others.’” (Saheeh al-Bukhaari, no. 6584) And it was also reported from Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that: “The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: ‘Do not narrate your good dreams to anyone except a k...
*SECOND REMINDER*. Monday. *BAD DREAM SUGGESTION*. *BismilLaah* As I mentioned in the first reminder, All bad dreams are satanic influences to put doubts in our eemaan or try to deviate us or put fear in us and must not tell anyone. Sometimes we also dream base on our thoughts, something we think about in daily life but whatever it is don't be bothered and strive to do the sunnahs before sleeping that's by performing wuduu, reciting aayatul Kursy, ikhlas to An-Naas. Please recite the Dua following as the Prophet thought and and use it regularly especially when going out or after bad dream. Satan fear to hear this in shaa Allaah: "Awuuzubikalimaatullahi taamaat min sharry Maa khalaq Wa min sharry qaasikin izaa waqab Wa min sharry naffaasaati fil uqad Wa min sharry haasiden izaa hasad Wa min sharryl waswaasil khannaas, allazee yuwaswisu fii suduurinnaas minal jinnati wannaas. Meaning, Oh Allah, I seek refuge or protection with your perfect attributes or through your powerf...
FIRST REMINDER. Monday. 5th day of Muharram. Seekig refuge in Allah from a nightmare or evil dream. BismilLaah Our beloved Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, said, “The good dream is from Allah and the evil dream is from Satan. So whoever sees something he dislikes, let him blow air to his left three times and seek refuge in Allah from Satan, for verily, it will not harm him. Verily, Satan cannot appear in my form.”Sahih Bukhari 6594. This hadith highlights the importance of only seeking protection from Allah without any fear of any bad dream. Satan wants to put fear in us so that we can visit his agents the source sayers or fortune tellers and fall into kufur so ignore any bad dream, don't even inform anyone but rather seek protection from Allah as soon as you wakeup then blow air 3 times to your left after seeking protection from Allah. To be continued on how to seek good protection from Allah in shaa Allaah. May Allah keep guiding us all and...
THIRD REMINDER. Sunday. WHAT WERE the RIGHTS of SLAVE GIRLS DURING slave TIMES? BismilLah The status of a slave girl was same to that of wife. The children were exactly like the other children from the person’s legally wedded wife. They were to be given exactly the same rights as his other children. The children of the slave girl would inherit the property exactly as the other children. There was absolutely no difference amongst the children. And once any slave girl bore a child, she could not be sold to anybody else and thus became a permanent member of the household.  Then you will probably ask how is this any different from the modern days concept of a mistress/prostitution/adultery?  There is a huge difference between the slave girls of those times and the system of prostitution which is so prevalent as a disease in today’s society.  The slave girl was a social issue of the times, which if not solved by Islam would give rise to adultery and prostitution. In prostitution, the w...
SECOND REMINDER. Sunday. WHAT The PROPHET MUHAMMED s.a.w said REGARDING the RIGHTS of SLAVES DURING SLAVE TRADE: BismilLah Please read the first Reminder first before this one. If you missed it, please request a copy or visit www.islamicdailyreminder.blogspot.com Your servants and your slaves are your brothers and sisters. Anyone who has slaves should give them from what he eats and wears. He should not charge them with work beyond their capabilities. If you must set them to hard work, in any case I advise you to help them. Source: Bukhari, Iman, 22; Adab, 44; Muslim, Iman, 38–40; Abu Dawud, Adab, 124 Imam Ali r.a reported that the last words of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, were: "The prayer! The prayer! Fear Allah concerning your slaves. Al-Adab al-Mufrad Al-Bukhari , Nr. 158. Jabir ibn 'Abdullah said, "The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, advised that slaves should be well-treated. He said, 'Feed them from what you eat ...
FIRST REMINDER. Sunday. 4th day of Muharram. Refuting lies about Islam on slave girls/concubines. BismilLah It is true that a lot of people including some ignorant Muslims push this subject ‘under the rug’ and do not understand it or are sometimes ashamed of this concept. That is because, today’s society and behavior is absolutely different from the conditions prevalent over 1400 years ago at the time of Revelation of the Quran. There is no place on earth where this concept is practiced today openly, thus to really understand the concept in its entirety, we must try to imagine the times of the Revelation of the Glorious Quran. As a Muslim, it's compulsory to learn about Islam to at least explain to non Muslims about misconceptions but to speak against or dislike something about Islam without been bothered to learn about shows our high level of ignorance. Since time immemorial, slavery was an accepted practice; thus it was not Islam that started this practice, but rather Islam w...
THIRD REMINDER. Saturday. COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS BETWEEN WIVES OF TODAY AND THOSE OF YESTERDAY. BismilLah I got these analyses yesterday from one of my contacts and feel it's worth re-sharing. (1). Yesterday's Wives: "Welcome my husband, hope the office was not stressful, your favourite food is ready, let me lead you to the bathroom first, then you take your dinner, you look so tired, I am sure you'll be okay after eating your dinner. Welcome my one and only." Today's Wives: "Please don't put unecessary pressure on me, you can go to the fridge pick up the stew, microwave it and boil the remaining rice, I am your wife and not your cook." (2). Yesterday's Wives:"Darling, stop thinking about our lack of money. It's going to be temporary. God will see us through and we are going to come out of it stronger. After all we can still feed ourselves and the children. We need to give the Almighty that glory. I am with you through thick a...
SECOND REMINDER. Saturday. SOME WAYS TO be BECOME a BETTER MUSLIM continues. Bismillaah Avoid Loneliness. The Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam said: “Islam began as something strange and will revert to being strange as it began, so give glad tidings to the strangers. (In Saheeh Muslim). This is a major problem for new reverts. They are mostly lonely. The best thing to do is to fight the feeling of loneliness, spend as much time as possible with good muslim company. Having dinners with people a few nights a week is a sure way to maintain a good attitude. The practice of becoming a nun or a monk is alien to Islam; we are social creatures and Islam recognizes this. Try not to lock yourself away in your apartment to avoid the world. This will just cause a vicious cycle that will cause deep depression and can lead to searching for solace in haram (unlawful). Make it an obligation on yourself to remain a sociable human being. It takes a lot of work but the result is happiness...
FIRST REMINDER. Saturday. 3rd day of Muharram. SOME WAYS TO BECOME a BETTER MUSLIM. Bismillaah Make Muslim friends and avoid severing ties. Our beloved messenger of Allah sallallahu alaihi wasallam said, “On the Day of Resurrection Allah Almighty will proclaim: “Where are those who have mutual love for My Glory’s sake? Today I shall shelter them in My shade where there is no shade but Mine. (In Saheeh Muslim). Saying “Assalaamu Alaykum” (Peace be upon you)  to people you see on campus or at the grocery store etc is a real blessing in Islam. It immediately lets people know you are a Muslim and they usually will be happy to return the greeting and hopefully share a few words with you. Doors of friendship will be opened and you will meet lots of people. Try and spend some time with Muslims when you can. It is beneficial to remind yourself that you are not the only Muslim on the planet and you share your religion with almost 2 billion people around the globe. But please no intermixing....
THIRD REMINDER. Friday. Lets continue with our topic on how to correct our errors in Salaat. BismilLah. The four major types of errors due to forgetfulness are as follows: 1. If an addition is made to the prayer e.g. praying Dhuhr with 5 rakaa instead of 4, then the two additional prostrations for forgetfulness should be performed after saying “Assalaamu Alaikum”(TASLEEM). 2. If a prayer is performed with a lesser number of rakaa than is required, e.g. to pray 3 rakaa for Dhuhr instead of 4. Then, the two additional prostrations for forgetfulness should be performed before proclaiming “TASLEEM” but as soon as you notice you've missed a full rakaat you must stand up to add that rakaat before the compensation. 3. If both an addition and omission is made in the course of the prayer, the forgetfulness prostration can be done before declaring the “TASLEEM”. 4. If a person is in doubt whether omission or addition is made to his prayer, he should consider it a deduction as a precaution...
SECOND REMINDER. Friday. THE FORGETFULNESS PROSTRATION (SUJUUD ASSAHW) POPULARLY TERM AS QABLI AND BAADI COMPENSATION IN SALAAT. BismilLah. During salaat one may make a mistake and ADD something to his or her salaat or OMIT something in salaat. These two mistakes often confuse us on how to compensate for them. I will try to explain the two terms bcs they are very important to complete our salaat properly or correct errors in Salaat. When you add anything like rakaat, sujuud etc in salaat which makes the salaat more than expected, we term it BAADI. To compensate for BAADI you will add two sujuud after final Tashahhud and Tasleem then sit down to repeat tashahhud and Tasleem to complete your salaat. When you noticed you've shortened or omitted something in your salaat then compensate with QABLI. It is compensated by two sujuud after the final Tashahhud before final Tasleem. If you are wondering omitting something whiles reciting tashahhud then just do Qabli and try to increase...
FIRST Reminder: Friday. 2nd day of Muharram. Ways to Improve our Salat. Bismillah. Concentration in our salaat is part of the perfection of the Salaat. Let's find out how to concentrate during our salaat. Avoid praying in a state in which you are mentally and physically fatigued. Keep your mind free of worldly worries, evil thoughts, and ideas. Plan what verses/duas you are going to recite. If you do not understand Arabic, learn the meaning of what you recite in your Prayer.  Remind yourself that engaging in Prayer offers you an opportunity to release yourself from the tensions of this world. Use your Prayer to remain focused on your mission in life, which is to bring your entire being to serve only Allah.  Fulfill all your personal needs before you commence your Prayer, for e.g., thirst, hunger and calls of nature. But don't do that at the time for the prayers. Start planning for each prayer at least 30 minutes before the prayer. Please remember today is Friday as such w...
THIRD REMINDER. Monday. OUR SALAAT IS AN ACT OF GETTING CLOSER TO ALLAH. Bismillaah Ibn al Qayyim’s (rahimahullah) heart-softening words were, “Surely in the heart of every human being, there is a sense of scattering which cannot be brought back together except by turning to Allah. And in the heart of every human being there is a sense of loneliness which cannot be put out except by being close to Allah. And in the heart of every human being there is anxiety and there is a sense of fear and unease which cannot be removed except by fleeing to Allah. And in the heart of every human being there is a sense of guilt and regret which cannot be removed except by being pleased and content with Allah.” To attain Allah’s love should be our primary goal. It is the most important thing absent on many a bucket list. We’ve become so consumed with the world and its acknowledgements and prizes we don’t know of the magnificent ways our Most Merciful Allah blesses us in this life. Abu Huraira (rad...
SECOND REMINDER. Thursday. PRIORITY ON OUR DAILY SALAAT Continues. BismilLaah We continue with our topic of the effects of salaat in our daily lives. Share to others please. The ability to concentrate in Prayer may be improved by undertaking adequate psychological, mental and physical preparation before the Prayer and by utilising certain techniques during the Prayer. This is not 'just a good thing' but an obligation on every Muslim. According to the Prophet, if we knew the good in praying in jama'ah we would not miss it even if we had to crawl to the masjid except our sisters who are permitted to pray in their rooms even though they should not be discouraged if there is a nearby masjid for them to attend if they have no children to attend to! Avoid praying in a state in which you are mentally and physically fatigued. Keep your mind free of worldly worries, evil thoughts, and ideas. Plan what verses/duas you are going to recite. If you do not understand Arabic learn t...
FIRST Reminder: Thursday. 1st day of Muharram 1439. Islamic New Year begins today AlhamdulilLah. The Effects of Salaat in our lives. Lets learn and share to others. BismilLaah As we begin a new year Islamically, let's make our daily salaat our 1st priority in our life. Let's not waste our time wishing and talking about the new year but instead strive to be better Muslims each day. It's also important to avoid arguing about today being 30th Dhul Hijjah or 1st Muharram. We say Allah knows best and move on. Today we have indeed come to treat the Prayer (Salah) as something insignificant in our lives. Very often we hear some says, "I will start praying when the time comes." Others, specially the younger Muslims, do not find much comfort, and joy in their Prayers. Due to our treatment of Prayer as a burden, due to lack of Islamic knowledge, weak eemaan etc, our love and passion for the Prayer has vanished. Our hearts have become hardened, and we have become a d...
THIRD REMINDER. Wednesday. ALWAYS REMEMBER THE FIRST COMMAND OF ALLAH continues. BismilLaah. Let's continue from the first and second reminder. Getting answers from Him, The One who sees everything, The One who knows all views, The One who has been there from the very beginning, The One who will last for eternity, The One who is Generous and wants to give and created to give…. THIS is the ultimate experience of this life. This is completion, this is fulfillment. This is satisfaction and this is the answer. This message is for all human beings. This Qur’an that is the direct verbatim message of the Creator is for all human beings. And the generosity and nearness of The Creator is open to all human beings. Just read and listen… Sometimes we follow certain worldly standards about what success is, what happiness is, what beauty is….etc. And we follow fluctuating views and ever changing social norms and human trends, but this will never be a substitute for the real answer. It will al...
SECOND REMINDER. Wednesday. ALWAYS REMEMBER THE FIRST COMMAND OF ALLAH. BismilLaah. Let's continue from the morning Reminder. You know when you buy a machine, and then you find it difficult to deal with, or it stops working. In this case, who is the best one to help you deal with this machine? The one who created it, right? He knows it inside out, he knows every little detail in it. He knows its purpose and its limits and its capacity and the best way to use it. So you seek the Creator understand what HE created. No one would know the creation better than its creator who made it. This is it. This is this revelation. This is the message in those verses. “Read in the name of your Lord who created -”He is telling us to read and understand yourself and your life with the powerful Name and guidance of your own Lord who created. Created what? “Created man from a clinging substance.”He created us out of nothing, out of an almost insignificant substance and He turned us to what we ar...
FIRST REMINDER. Wednesday. 29th day of Dhul Hijjah. LWAYS REMEMBER THE FIRST COMMAND OF ALLAH. BismilLaah Most of us know by heart the very first words that were revealed from the Qur’an to Noble Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). But sometimes we don’t reflect deep enough on the major life changing message that it contains. The circumstances of revealing those verses relate so much to the state that many people find themselves in today … this is the state of seeking meaning, seeking answers, clarity, purpose and direction. Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings upon him) had a very good and comfortable life. He had an honourable wife whom he loved dearly, he had children, he had a good job, he was well respected in his community… he had a very successful and stable life. But something was missing. Something big was missing and it was aching his heart and he needed answers, he needed clarity, he needed meaning and understanding. What’s beyond this life? What’s the purpose? What’...
THIRD REMINDER. Tuesday. EXCELLENCE OF SEEKING KNOWLEDGE. BismilLah. Islam calls us to seek knowledge. The Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) made seeking knowledge an obligation upon every Muslim, and he explained that the superiority of the one who has knowledge over the one who merely worships is like the superiority of the moon over every other heavenly body. He said that the scholars are the heirs of the Prophets and that the Prophets did not leave behind dinars and dirhams (i.e., money), rather their inheritance was knowledge, so whoever acquires it has gained a great share. And he (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said that seeking knowledge is a way to Paradise. He (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever follows a path in the pursuit of knowledge, Allaah will make a path to Paradise easy for him.” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, Kitaab al-‘Ilm, 10). Islam calls us to learn all kinds of beneficial knowledge. Branches of knowledge var...
SECOND REMINDER. Tuesday. *SEEKING ISLAMIC KNOWLEDGE IS ESSENTIAL*. BismilLah. Undoubtedly seeking Islamic knowledge is one of the best of deeds; indeed it is a kind of jihaad for the sake of Allaah, especially in these modern times when bid’ahs have begun to appear in Muslim societies and are becoming widespread, and ignorance is common among those who issue fatwas without knowledge, and people have started to argue a great deal. These three issues all make it essential that young people be keen to seek knowledge. Bid’ahs whose evil is apparent, People who issue fatwas without knowledge, Extensive arguing about issues which may be clear to the scholars but there are people who argue about them without knowledge. For these reason we need scholars who have deep and extensive knowledge, who have an understanding of Islam, who are wise in advising the slaves of Allaah, because many people nowadays have theoretical knowledge, but they do not focus on finding the best means of reformin...
FIRST REMINDER. Tuesday. 28th day of Dhul-Hijjah. SPONSORING SOMEONE TO STUDY ISLAM IS AN EXCELLENT SAVINGS. BismilLah. In an authentic Hadith, we read that There were two brothers in the days of the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam). One of them used to attend the Prophet's circle (to acquire knowledge) and the other used to earn their living by working). Once the one working complained to the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) against the former (for not working for living). He (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) replied, "Perhaps you are being provided because of him". [At-Tirmidhi]. This Hadith evidently shows that it is permissible and desirable to devote oneself or make someone else to devote himself for religious knowledge. Such students of religious knowledge should not be considered a burden. Similarly, one should also not ignore those students and learned who are devoted to such knowledge because Allah makes their help a means of increasing the donor's ...
THIRD REMINDER. Monday. RULINGS ON REPEATED SINS. BismilLah. My sincere apology for posting this late it was due to my involvement in some extra curriculum activities 😊. It's not the nature of a true believer to committing the same sins after repenting *BUT* never give up repenting regardless of how many times you commit the sins till Satan is defeated as Allah is always ready to forgive whenever we call on HIM sincerely. Al-Bukhaari (7507) and Muslim (2758) narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said that his Lord said: “My slave commits sin, then he says, ‘O Allaah, forgive me my sin.’ Then Allaah says, ‘My slave has committed a sin, but he knows that he has a Lord Who forgives sin and takes away sin. So I forgive My slave.’ Then he commits sin again, and says, ‘O Allaah, forgive me my sin.’ Then Allaah says, ‘My slave has committed a sin, but he knows that he has a Lord Who forgives sin and takes away sin. So I forgive My ...
SECOND REMINDER. Monday. THE POWER OF REPENTANCE. LETS LEARN AND SHARE. BismilLah. The Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “No man does a wrong action then performs Wudu and does his Wudu well, then performs two Rakaat and seeks Allah’s forgiveness, but that He will forgive him.” [Imam Ahmad] Similar is Allah’s promise in the Quran: “Except the one who repents and believes and does good deeds, then Allah will replace the evil deeds of such people by good deeds, and Allah is Most-Forgiving, Very-Merciful.” [Surah Al-Furqan, Ayat 70] Allahu Akbar. A true repentance will not only remove the bad deed from your record, but will actually convert it into a good deed. Once you have realized your mistake, make Wudu properly and then pray two Rakaat seeking Allah’s forgiveness. May Allah forgive our sins and guide us from going back to the sins. Aameen.
FIRST REMINDER. Monday. 27th day of Dhul Hijjah. BLAMING OUR WIVES FOR NOT CONCEIVING. BismilLah. Allah says; The dominion of the heavens and the earth belongs to Allah. He creates whatever He pleases. He grants females to whomever He pleases and males to whomever He pleases , or grants them a mix of males and females, and causes whomever He pleases to be barren. He is All- Knowing, All-Powerful.(Quran 42 vrs 49-50). From the above verses we know that nothing happens without Allahs authority. So when Allah Subhaanahu wa Ta'ala , in His Infinite Wisdom, tests us with a situation that we think is difficult or takes away something that in our mind was good for us, we need to remember that perhaps it may not be so. Perhaps if we had continued in our way, it might have been harmful for us and whatever Allah decreed for us is actually better for us, for He is All-Wise and All-Knowing. Allah says: '...and it may be that you dislike a thing which is good for you and that you like a...
Third Reminder. Sunday. Harms and effects of music Continues. BismilLah. We human beings have been created for a noble purpose. Allah Most High says: “I have created jinn and humans only that they serve (worship) me” (Surah al-Dhariyat, 56). Music and temporary entertainments sink the human in physical pleasures and prevent him/her from true spiritual gains. In conclusion, music has a great role to play in preventing a human from realising the purpose of creation. Another harm of music is that it instills the ideologies of the Non-Muslims in the heart and mind. The messages of today’s music follow a general theme of love, fornication, drugs and freedom. We find that the whole world is obsessed with the Kufr idea of unrestrained freedom, i.e. freedom of speech and movement, etc… This idea of freedom, “it’s my life, I’ll do what I want” is a predominant theme of music today. It is used as a means of drilling western ideologies into the hearts and minds, which are totally contrary to I...
SECOND REMINDER. Sunday. Harms and effects of music. BismilLah. Let's continue from the First Reminder. We should be aware that nothing has been prohibited by the Almighty Creator except that which is harmful to us and the society as a whole. There are great harms and ill-effects of music. Example, Islam totally forbids adultery and also those things that lead to it. Allah Most High says: “And do not come near to adultery, for it is a shameful deed and an evil, opening the road (to other evils)” (al-Isra, 32). Islam does not only prohibit adultery and fornication, but also those things that may lead to it. This is the reason why the Qur’an orders Muslim men and Women to lower their gazes. It prohibits one from being alone with someone from the opposite sex (khalwa). Informal interaction with the opposite sex has also been made unlawful. This is same to music. One of the main reasons for the prohibition of music, as it effects one’s emotions, creates arousal, passion and excit...
FIRST REMINDER. 26th day of Dhul-Hijjah. Is Singing and Music Haraam? If so Why?. Lets learn and share to others. BismilLah. The worst case scenario in the event of being inflicted with a disease is when the one involved refuses to believe that he or she has been inflicted with that disease. The way this phenomenon is accepted and recognised in diseases and illnesses that affect the physical body, it is also true with regards to spiritual diseases and ailments. When a person commits a sin (may Allah save us all) accepting that a sin is being committed and feels regret and remorse in the heart, then this is far better than committing the sin and believing it to be lawful (halal). In the first scenario, only one sin is being committed, and it is very likely that the individual may repent out of the remorse felt in the heart. In the second case, however, in addition to the sin being committed, there is the greater sin of trying to justify it. Normally, such an individual does not re...
THIRD REMINDER. Saturday. HELPING EACH OTHER SINCERELY AS MUSLIMS. BismilLah Let’s remember that in the Quran, Allah the Beneficent regards Muslims as helpers, supporters, friends, and protectors of each other: Allah says  “The believers, men and women, are Auliya’ (helpers, supporters, friends, protectors) of one another (Quran: At-Taubah, 9:71).  Our duty, therefore, is to be genuinely concerned about each other so that we can contribute to making life pleasant in this life and to help ourselves and others to prepare for the life in the Hereafter. And to reach that end, we need to be vigilant in ensuring that Islamic teachings are implemented and followed correctly. This necessitates giving and taking correct advice and constructive criticism wherever required. None can claim to be knowledgeable than the rest as such we must strive to advise each other sincerely purely for Allah sake. Let's fear that one day it's over, regardless of what you've achieved on earth you wi...
SECOND REMINDER. Saturday. The real friendship. The six rights of every Muslim. BismilLahir. Abu Hurayrah (radhiyallaahu ‘anhu) narrated that the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said, “The rights of the Muslim upon the Muslim are six.” It was said, “And what are they Oh Messenger of Allaah?” He replied, “When you meet him, give him the greeting of peace, when he invites you, respond to his invitation, when he seeks your advice, advise him, when he sneezes and praises Allaah, supplicate for mercy upon him, when he becomes ills, visit him, and when he dies follow him (i.e. his funeral).”(Muslim) The First Right: “When you meet him, give him the greeting of peace.” For verily the greeting of peace is a cause of love, which results in producing faith (Al-Eemaan), which results in the person entering the Paradise. This is as Prophet (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said, “By the one in Whose Hand is my soul, you all will not enter into the Paradise until you believe, ...
FIRST REMINDER. Saturday. 25th day of Dhul-Hijjah. SUCCESS ON EARTH. BismilLah. Peace of mind, contentment, happiness and freedom from worries and anxiety… these are what everyone wants, and these are the ways in which people can have a good life and find complete happiness and joy. There are religious means of achieving this, and natural and practical means, but no one can combine all of them except the believers; although other people may achieve some of them, they will miss out on others.  Here follows a summary of the means of achieving this aim for which everyone is striving. In some cases, those who achieve many of them will live a joyful life and a good life; in other cases, those who fail to achieve all of them will live a life of misery and hardship. And there are others which are in between, according to the means they are able to attain. These means include the following:  Faith and righteous deeds:  This is the greatest and most fundamental of means. Allah says (interp...
THIRD REMINDER. FRIDAY. TREATING NEIGHBOURS AND NON MUSLIMS WITH KINDNESS AND JUSTICE continues. BismilLah. If any of the non-Muslims comes to our country for work or business, and has permission (from the authorities), he is either a mu‘aahid (one who has a treaty with the Muslims) or a musta’min (one who has been granted security by the Muslims). So it is not permissible to transgress against him. It is proven that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever kills a mu‘aahid will not smell the fragrance of Paradise.” We are Muslims who submit to the command of Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, and we respect those whom Islam instructs us to respect of those who have treaties and guarantees of security. Whoever transgresses against them has misrepresented Islam and has given Islam an image of terrorism, treachery and betrayal. The one who adheres to the rulings of Islam and respects treaties and covenants is one for whom it is hoped that he will do ...
