DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 25th day of Muharram, 1446AH (Wednesday, 31st July 2024). FIRM BELIEF AND PERFECT RELIANCE ON ALLAH SHOULD BE OUR PRIORITY AS MUSLIMS. BismilLah.   ALLAH, the Exalted, says:  "The believers are only those who, when ALLAH is mentioned, feel a fear in their hearts; and when HIS Verses (this Qur'an) are recited unto them, they (i.e., the Verses) increase their Faith; and they put their trust in their Creator(Alone)(8:2).   So as Muslims, Even in the worst circumstances one should always have faith and trust in ALLAH and recite the above verse and in shaa ALLAH nothing can touch us except if it's a test from ALLAH on our eemaan (faith) in HIM. Nothing  can happen to us without HIS permission so let's be mindful of ALLAH and fear None. There is nothing like "but" or "what about" etc when it comes to reliance jn ALLAH.  We ask ALLAH to increase us in knowledge, wisdom and courage to be able to rely only on HIM fo...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Ath-thalaatha. 24th day of Muharram, 1446AH (Tuesday, 30th July 2024). OUR DAILY SUSTENANCE IS FROM ALLAH. Bismillah.  ALLAH says in the Quran: There is no moving creature on earth but its sustenance depends on HIM: HE knows where it lives and where it rests: All is in a clear Record"……… Qur'an, Hud, 11: 6  "And the earth ALLAH have spread out (like a carpet); set thereon mountains firm and immovable; and produced therein all kinds of things in due balance. And ALLAH have provided therein means of subsistence, for you and for those for whose sustenance you are not responsible." [Hijr 15:19-20]. There are many of such Assurances and sayings from ALLAH in the Quran and teachings of the Prophet sallallahu Alaihi wasallam.  Practically, if we obey ALLAH as HE deserves, then HE will always provide a means for our sustenance. Alhamdulillah HE has been doing this for us without doubt, but because of our lack of appreciation and always complain...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm al-ithnayn. 23rd day of Muharram, 1446AH (Monday, 29th July 2024). MANNERS OF ASSEMBLY AND GATHERINGS. BismilLaah.  Because Islam is a complete way of life, it has guidance for all aspects of life for those who chooses to follow the Qur'an and sunnah. Among the complete and balanced ways of life are the etiquette or manners when we gather anywhere which Imam An-Nawawi records in his book Riyad us-Saliheen: Ibn Umar reported: The Messenger of ALLAH, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Do not ask someone to give up his seat/space to another, but rather make it easy and provide accommodation. Sahih Muslim 2177.  Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of ALLAH, peace and blessings be upon him, said, If a man stands from his seat and later returns it, then he is more entitled to it. Sahih Muslim 2179. This sunnah teaches us NOT to request someone to give up his or her space to someone who attend a gathering late including jamaat salaat in masjid ...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawmul Ahad. 22nd day of Muharram, 1446AH (Sunday, 28th July 2024). LET’S PUT OUR COMPLETE TRUST IN ALLAH. BismilLah.  The concept of relying on ALLAH is known in Arabic as TAWAKKUL. Tawakkul involves placing complete trust in ALLAH above and beyond all others, including oneself. The great scholar Ibn Rajab beautifully defined it as; "Complete reliance on ALLAH is the sincere dependence of the heart on ALLAH in the servant's endeavors in pursuing his interests and safeguarding himself against anything that may be harmful to his well-being both in this life and in the aakhira.". [The Purification of the Soul (London: Al-Firdous, 1996), s.105]. Tawakkul is your source of contentment, ease, protection, and relief from fear and doubt. It is one of the best means you can use to come closer to ALLAH and raise your level of faith (eeman) and certainty (yaqeen). And by submitting your heart and giving complete authority to ALLAH through tawakkul, you wil...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm As-Sabt. 21st day of Muharram, 1446AH (Saturday, 27th July 2024). SOME OF WHAT THE MESSENGER OF ALLAH SAID CONCERNING GIVING SADAQAH (charity). Bismillah. The Prophet sallallahu  alaihi  wasallam said: “Give sadaqah without delay, for it stands in the way of calamity.” By Imam Tirmidhi hadith number 1887. Hudhaifa and Abu Shaiba reported ALLAH'S Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: Every act of goodness is sadaqa. Sahih Muslim, book 5 hadith no. 2197.  Narrated by Suraqah ibn Malik: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Shall I not guide you to the most excellent sadaqah? It is to provide for your daughter when she is sent back to you and has no one but you to provide for her." Imam Tirmidhi hadith no. 5002.  Narrated 'Adi bin Hatim heard the Prophet saying: "Save yourself from Hell-fire even by giving half a date-fruit in charity for ALLAH sake." Sahih Bukhari book 24 hadith no. 498.  All these hadith shows the impor...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawmul Jumuat. 20th day of Muharram, 1446AH (Friday, 26th July 2024). THE ACCEPTANCE of GOOD DEEDS in ISLAM.  BismilLah.  Before a Muslim moves another step forward or performs any act or deed, he/she is obliged to acquire knowledge in the path that will lead him/her to the best end, that is, having his good deeds accepted by ALLAH (Al-Wadud, The Loving, The Kind One). It is important to note that what counts is not the number of good deeds or acts of worship performed, for there may be a person who performs many good deeds, yet, all what he gains is tiredness in this life and hardships in the hereafter. Don't finish the act before asking if it's haraam or halaal.  There are two essential conditions that must both be present in every performed good act or deed, so as to ensure their acceptance by ALLAH (Ash-Shaheed, The Witness). First, a Muslim must seek ALLAH (Al-Haqq, The Truth, The Real) alone in the good deeds that he performs. Second, ...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Al-Khamis. 19th day of Muharram, 1446AH (Thursday, 25th July 2024). DYING WITH DEBTS IS DANGEROUS. BismilLah.  Our beloved Messenger of ALLAH (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said:  “Whoever dies free from three things:- Arrogance, Cheating and Debt, will enter Paradise.” Narrated by al-Tirmidhi (1572). There are many hadith on each of these 3 things Astaqfirullah.  May ALLAH protect us from debts and aid us to pay off debts before dying. Aameen.
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 18th day of Muharram, 1446AH (Wednesday, 24th July 2024). IS MY SALAAT VALID IF I NOTICE IMPURITIES ON MY GARMENT AFTER THE SALAAT?. BismilLah.  Scholars have ruled based on Quran and Sunnah that ALLAH does not hold us responsible for issues we were not aware of or unintentional mistakes so if you did not know your GARMENT of any type was impure or was contained with urine, sperm or whatever, your salaat is valid and no need to repeat your salaat.  But if you notice any impurities and instead of resolving the issue immediately, you delayed, then forgot and pray with any such impurities from yourself such as after the toilet or after sunnah with your wife or husband then you must purify yourself and pray again due to the fact that you knew, ignored it and forgot it so it becomes an act of ignorance or carelessness which require you to repeat your salaat after resolving your state of impurity. ALLAH knows best.   May ALLAH ke...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Ath-thalaatha. 17th day of Muharram, 1446AH (Tuesday, 23rd July 2024). PATIENCE AND REGULAR ZIKIR OR DUA ARE THE INGREDIENTS TO SUCCESS. BismilLah.  Our Messenger of ALLAH (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “Much silence and a good disposition, there are no two things better than these.” [Authenticated by Imam Al-Bukhari]. “Every man/woman is hidden under his/her own tongue.” The tongue reveals inner beauty as well as inner vileness. Therefore, the safety of a man/woman lies in holding his tongue. Do not judge or marry through the beauty of the face but investigate his or her character especially his or her obedience to ALLAH not the beauty and the wealth. If you are married already then manage him or her as a trial from ALLAH and strive to change him or her through dua and patience as dua can even change the qadar of ALLAH.  May ALLAH protect us from any satanic influences. Aameen.
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm al-ithnayn. 16th day of Muharram, 1446AH (Monday, 22nd July 2024). HOW TO HANDLE DEPRESSION AND SADNESS. BismilLah. When we go through difficult times, when we have a financial loss, when we lose a loved one, when we struck by bad times, it brings out the real humanness in us, and we begin to ask the very questions that are most fundamental to us, “Why are we here?”, “What is the purpose of life”, “why me”, “What happened to all my plans and dreams, etc. We learn the frailty of our humanness. The Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said, “Look at the ones who are less fortunate than you, not at the ones that are more fortunate than you.” Hunger attracts food. Hunger is a spiritual experience, it is good for the soul, and food is an experience of the body. In the same way, ease and happiness is good which the body like and is welcomed, and hardships and difficulty are disliked by the body but are very good for the soul. It forces the soul to ...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawmul Ahad. 15th day of Muharram, 1446AH (Sunday, 21st July 2024). THE LIGHT OF THE TRUTH. Bismillah HuMan is a unique creature. ALLAH establishes human as HIS representative or deputy to govern over all other creatures in this world. HE is endowed with the faculty of REASON, which sets us apart from all other animals. Together with this faculty to discriminate and discern, man is given the freedom (free-will) to choose for himself a way of life worthy of his or her position as ALLAH'S representative or to fall lower than the lowest of all animals or creations. Man is born pure and sinless and is given the choice to do righteous deeds or indulge in sins. The Creator, out of HIS abundant Love and Mercy for mankind has not left us in darkness to discover the right path by trial and error alone. Coupled with our intellectual capability to reason, our Creator bestowed upon us DIVINE GUIDANCE that outlines the Criterion for TRUTH, knowledge, as well as the rea...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm As-Sabt. 14th day of Muharram, 1446AH (Saturday, 20th July 2024). MISSING JUMUĀH DUE TO LECTURES OR Work ETC. BismilLah.  It's important we understand as Muslims that Jumu‘ah prayer is obligatory for the able-bodied Muslim man, and that staying away from it without any efforts not to miss it is a grave sin. What is required is to be very keen to attend this prayer regularly, for it is a weekly prayer and weekly Eid for the Muslims, the greatest and best of the days of the week. So it is not permissible to be heedless or negligent about it. Almost all Scholars who qualify for Issuing Fatwas has said that: Jumu‘ah prayer is an individual obligation (fard ‘ayn); it is not permissible to miss it because of working hour or study, and the like. ALLAH, may HE be glorified, says “And whoever fears ALLAH - HE will make for him a way out And will provide for him from where he does not expect” [at-Talaaq 65:2-3]. From this verse it's clear that we must make...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawmul Jumuat. 13th day of Muharram, 1446AH (Friday, 19th July 2024). DO YOU PREFER THIS WORLD OR PARADISE?. BismilLah. Whoever desires the rewards of this life, then with ALLAH is the reward of this worldly life and of the Hereafter. means, O those whose ultimate desire is this life, know that ALLAH owns the rewards of this life and the Hereafter. Therefore, if you ask ALLAH for both, HE will enrich you, award you and suffice for you. As ALLAH says in Qur’an 2:200/202, But of mankind there are some who say:"Our Lord! Give us in this world!" and for such there will be no portion in the Hereafter. And of them there are some who say:"Our Lord! Give us in this world that which is good and in the Hereafter that which is good, and save us from the torment of the Fire!" For them there will be ...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Al-Khamis. 12th day of Muharram, 1446AH (Thursday, 18th July 2024). The virtue of saying: Subhaan-Allaahi wa bihamdihi, & Subhan-Allaahil-Azhim. BismilLah.  سبحان الله و بحمده Subhaan-Allahi wa bihamdihi [ALLAAH is free from imperfection and all praise is due to Him]   سبحان الله العظيم SubhaanAllahil Adheem. ALLAH is the GREATEST free from any imperfection.  The Prophet sallalLaahu Alaihi Wasallam said. These two phrases even though easy to say them will be heavy on the scale on judgement day.  Abu Hurairah (May ALLAH be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of ALLAH sallalLaahu  Alaihi Wasallam said, “He who recites in the morning and in the evening  Subhaan-Allahi wa bihamdihi, SubhaanAllahil Adheem 100 times, will not be surpassed on the Day of Resurrection by anyone with better deeds than one who utters the same words or utters more of these words.” [Saheeh Muslim]. As we fast on this blessed day of Muha...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 11th day of Muharram, 1446AH (Wednesday, 17th July 2024). GIVING SINCERE SADAQAH AND ITS EFFECTS ON OUR LIFE. BismilLaah. Sadaqah is a means of gaining baraqah(blessings) on our wealth or income. It may be hard for us to give sadaqah when we are barely able to make ends meet. However, if we truly trust in ALLAH, we will give from the little we have to our relatives in particular with intention of gaining baraqah on our income as ALLAH promised in Quran 2:261 as ALLAH says; The parable of those who spend their wealth in the way of ALLAH, is that of a grain (of corn); it grows seven ears, and each ear has a hundred grains. This is a parable that ALLAH made of the multiplication of rewards for those who spend in HIS cause, seeking HIS pleasure. ALLAH multiplies the good deed ten to seven hundred times...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Ath-thalaatha. 10th day of Muharram, 1446AH (Tuesday, 16th July 2024). ETIQUETTES OF VISITING THE SICK. BismilLah.  It is proven in al-Saheehaayn (Books of Imam Muslim and Imam Bukhari and the rest of our scholars) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of ALLAAH be upon him) said: “There are five duties that the Muslim owes to his fellow Muslim,” one of which is visiting the sick. According to another version: “The rights of one Muslim over another are…” Imam Al-Bukhaari said: Chapter on the obligation of visiting the sick, and he narrated the words of the Prophet (peace and blessings of ALLAAH be upon him): “Feed the hungry, visit the sick and free the captives.”   This hadeeth indicates that it is obligatory, and may be understood as meaning that it is a communal obligation, like feeding the hungry and freeing the captives. Al-Nawawi narrated that there is scholarly consensus that it is not waajib (obligatory). Al-Haafiz said in al-Fa...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm al-ithnayn. 9th day of Muharram, 1446AH (Monday, 15th July 2024). THE BEST WEEK OF MUHARRAM. BismilLaah.   Today is a double recommended day to  fast and hopefully many of us are fasting to gain the rewards of fasting on Monday and also one of the recommended dates of fasting in Muharram which should continue through 10th, 11th and thursday 12th of Muharram. We can then continue with the 3 white days of 13th to 15th Muharram Allahu Akbar.  It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah (may ALLAH be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of ALLAH (blessings and peace of ALLAH be upon him) said: “The best fast after Ramadan is in the month of ALLAH Muharram.”Narrated by Muslim (1982).  For our sisters who can't fast due to their monthly cycle or those who are sick, don't feel neglected, ALLAH may reward your intentions in any little acts of worship on these days such as studying the deen, reciting more zikir, feeding the poor, helping your family...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawmul Ahad. 8th day of Muharram, 1446AH (Sunday, 14th July 2024). TRUE SERVANTS OF ALLAH HAS A UNIQUE ATTRIBUTE. BismilLah. ALLAH says in the Quran, And the servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk upon the earth easily, and when the ignorant address them [harshly], they say [words of] peace. Qur'an 25:63. ALLAH is telling us the attributes of the believing servants of HIM, those who walk on the earth "Hawna," meaning that they walk with dignity and humility, not with arrogance and pride. This is like the Aayah: وَلَا تَمْشِ فِى الاٌّرْضِ مَرَحًا And walk not on the earth with conceit and arrogance... (17:37). So, these people do not live on earth with arrogance or pride. This does not mean that they should walk like sick people, making a show of their humility. What is meant here by Hawn is serenity and dignity, as the Messenger of ALLAH said: When you come to the prayer, do not come rushing in haste. Come calmly and with tranquillity, ...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm As-Sabt. 7th day of Muharram, 1446AH (Saturday, 13th July 2024). DIVISION AND HATRED ARE SATANIC TOOLS TO DEVIATE US AS MUSLIMS. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem.  As Muslims, it's seriously forbidden for us to hate each other or speak ill of each other because of politics or because of other religious festivals. A Muslim shouldn't speak against other religious beliefs or festivals and must not also be part of it and maintain our identity as Muslims and be kind to all humans with hope of softening their hearts towards ISLAM or towards the right aqeedah.  Abu Hurairah (May ALLAH be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of ALLAH (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said, "On the Day of Resurrection, ALLAH, the Exalted, will say: `Where are those who have mutual love for the sake of My Glory? Today I shall shelter them in My Shade when there will be no shade except Mine". [Muslim]. It should be borne in mind that the shade referred to in the Hadith...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawmul Jumuat. 6th day of Muharram, 1446AH (Friday, 12th July 2024). PROPHET MUHAMMED (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam), THE ROLE MODEL FOR MANKIND. Bismillaah.  Who is your role model in life? The musician?, film actor?, Your Imam? The footballer etc Or OUR BELOVED PROPHET MUHAMMAD sallallaahu alaihi wasallam?.  The diseases of our age are many and the distractions are indeed powerful. The forces of economic exploitation, wanton greed, vengeance, and unjustified wars are wreaking havoc on our civilization and making headlines every day. It is rare to find examples when the virtues of love, generosity, and forgiveness are reflected in the lives of people. We should remember that despair is not in the vocabulary of the Quran or the Prophetic tradition.   The historical record shows that the spread of Islam to the lands beyond the Arabian Peninsula had more to do with the beauty and simplicity that the followers of Prophet Muhammad sallalLaahu...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Al-Khamis. 5th day of Muharram, 1446AH (Thursday, 11th July 2024). THE SPECIAL PEOPLE OF ALLAH. BismilLaah. It is such an incomparable honor to be among the special people of ALLAH …right?! To be among the ones close and beloved to The King of kings, The Owner of the Day of Judgment, The Creator of All Mankind…The All-Powerful, The Eternal…. That’s such a glorious and most noble position. But who are the people of ALLAH? What are their characteristics? What makes them special? This is all mentioned to us in a beautiful hadith of our Noble Messenger, Muhammad (peace and blessings upon him). It was narrated that Anas bin Malik may ALLAH be pleased with him  said: “The Messenger of ALLAH said: ‘ALLAH has HIS own people among mankind.’ They said: ‘O Messenger of ALLAH, who are they?’ He said: ‘The people of the Qur’an are the people of ALLAH and those who are closest to HIM. [Sunan ibn Majah]. Spending time with the Qur’an (reading, reciting, memoriz...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 4th day of Muharram, 1446AH (Wednesday, 10th July 2024). QURAN IS THE ONLY WAY TO PARADISE. Bismillah.  ALLAH, The Almighty GOD says in HIS last and final Message to mankind, And those who disbelieve and deny the sayings of this Quran from ALLAH, those will be companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally." (Quran 2:39). This is a serious verse and I hope we study the Quran and follow it's teachings if indeed we want to enter Paradise.  Our beloved Messenger of ALLAH sallallahu alaihi wasallam also said that whoever hear about him and his teachings and does not believe and follow his teachings will enter Hellfire Astaqfirullah.  May ALLAH keep guiding us all and protect us from any satanic ways. Aameen.
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Ath-thalaatha. 3rd day of Muharram, 1446AH (Tuesday, 9th July 2024). ALLAH IS INDEED SUFFICIENT FOR US. BismilLah.  In an authentic hadith, Anas bin Malik reported that the Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam was told on the day of the battle of Uhud by the hypocrites that, "Verily, the enemies have gathered against you in great numbers well armed, therefore, fear them." Thereafter, ALLAH sent down this Ayah (Qur'an 3:173) "Those (i.e. believers) to whom the people (hypocrites) said, 'Verily, the people (pagans) have gathered against you (a great army), therefore, fear them but the Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam and his companions said: "ALLAH is Sufficient for us, and HE is the Best Disposer of affairs." ALLAH says again; But if they turn away, from the glorious, pure, perfect and encompassing Law that you O Muhammad brought them, then say: "ALLAH is sufficient for me. There is no God but HE, ALLAH is suf...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawmul ahad. 1st day of Muharram, 1446AH (Sunday, 7th July 2024). OUR NEW YEAR BEGINS TODAY. BismilLah.  The Hijri calendar is lunar and consists of 12 months. Four of these twelve months are sacred: Dhul Qaeda, Dhul Hijjah, Muharram, and Rajab. ALLAH says; “Indeed, the number of months ordained by ALLAH is twelve, in ALLAH’s Record since the day HE created the heavens and the earth of which four are sacred.” [Qur’an 9:36]. We’ve completed two sacred months already, which granted us an excellent opportunity to come closer to ALLAH, and the third month, Muharram, finishes those three months. It is the first month and marks the beginning of a new Islamic year. This month is “the month of ALLAH ” and contains a special day that marks the most known importance of Muharram. On the 10th of Muharram is the Day of Ashura, and this day was obligatory to fast before fasting in Ramadan was ordered. “ALLAH’s Messenger (peace be upon him) ordered (the Muslims) to ...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm As-Sabt. 30th day of Dhul-Hijjah, 1445AH (Saturday, 6th July 2024). A SISTER NEEDED ANSWERS AS TO WHY SHE WAS STRUGGLING TO FIND A GOOD HUSBAND TO MARRY. BismilLah  First of all, before answering this question I would like to point out that all matters are in the hands of ALLAAH; no benefit comes and no harm is warded off except by HIS help. The One Who relieves distress is ALLAAH, so if anything befalls a person he or she must turn to ALLAAH and beseech HIM and call upon HIM, whether that has to do with attaining something desired or removing something disliked.  ALLAAH says: “And whatever blessings and good things you have, it is from ALLAAH. Then, when harm touches you, unto HIM you cry aloud for help” [al-Nahl 16:53].  Let's have patience and seek reward with ALLAAH. All you need to do is to be open-minded that you want to marry for ALLAH'S sake, and acting with patients is enough for ALLAH to hear your cry. You should be optimistic...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawmul Jumuat. 28th day of Dhul-Hijjah, 1445AH (Friday, 5th July 2024). MEANING AND APPLYING ISTIQAAMAH continues  Bismillah. Let's continue from our Reminder yesterday with some tips on how to have istiqaamah: 3) Have good friends that will support you: Befriend those that motivate you and are not negative. The scholars say it is not nifaaq(hypocritical) if a person’s Islam and eemaan are better when they are around righteous friends because this is part of the sunnah of our deen. ALLAH says: “And keep yourself patiently with those who call on their Lord morning and afternoon, seeking HIS Face; and let not your eyes overlook them.”(Quran, 18:28) 4) Choose a good spouse who will make istiqaamah your focus and remind you: The Prophet sallallahu  alaiyhi wassallam gave us the example of the wife who would sprinkle water on her husband’s face to wake him up for tahajjud (prayer before fajr) and likewise the husband who would do the same to his wife....
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Al-Khamis. 27th day of Dhul-Hijjah, 1445AH (Thursday, 4th July 2024). MEANING AND APPLYING ISTIQAAMAH Bismillah. Assalaamu Alaikum WarahmatulLah. Please accept my apology for the delay in sharing today's reminder. I fell asleep after work and just wakeup 😊. Istiqaamah is often translated to mean ‘uprightness, steadfastness and correctness.’ It comes from the root word قام (qaama) meaning ‘to rise’ or ‘to stand upright’ and from this we derive words like مستقيم(mustaqeem) as in ‘Siraat al-Mustaqeem’ (Straight Path). For the believer, Istiqaamah is a virtue that cannot be done without. It’s a quality that we continually strive to attain although we may fail at times. In this age where fitaan(tribulations) have become widespread and open sins are the norm, many people have lost the istiqaamah they once had in them – the strength to stay upon the straight path. Some tips on how to have istiqaamah: 1) Have a strong relationship with ALLAH: The best way is...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 26th day of Dhul-Hijjah, 1445AH (Wednesday, 3rd July 2024). COVERING OUR OWN AND OTHERS FAULTS ON SOCIAL MEDIA. BismilLah. Imam Abu Huraira may ALLAH be pleased with him reported: The Messenger of ALLAH, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Everyone from my nation will be pardoned except those who sin in public. Among them is a man who commits an evil deed in the night which ALLAH has covered for him, then in the morning he says: O people, I have done this sin. His Lord had covered him during the night but in the morning he unveils what ALLAH has covered. Sahih Bukhari 5721. We've learned from the above that it's evil to let anyone know of our sins or others sins. We should cry to ALLAH to forgive us instead of boasting this is my girlfriend/ boyfriend and walking with them in public and some even displaying their haraam relation in public on Facebook or whatsapp display etc with excuse of planning marriage. ALLAH has warned not to f...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Ath-thalaatha. 26th day of Dhul-Hijjah, 1445AH (Tuesday, 2nd July 2024). SELF DISCIPLINE TOWARDS OBEDIENCE TO ALLAH. BismilLaah. As human beings, each of us has a shortcomings. Whoever acknowledges that he or she has shortcomings has started on the path to self-discipline. This acknowledgement is one of the things that make us discipline ourselves and be persistent in doing so and seeking forgiveness regularly. This acknowledgement should not put you off disciplining yourself. It is a sign of ALLAAH’s care when a person tries to change himself and develop, as ALLAAH says:  “Verily, ALLAAH will not change the condition of a people as long as they do not change their state themselves”[al-Ra’d 13:11]. Whoever strive to change for the sake of ALLAH, ALLAH will help him to so. Each person is individually responsible for his own self, and will be questioned individually, as ALLAH says:  “There is none in the heavens and the earth but comes unto th...
