THIRD REMINDER. Yaumu Al-Sabt, 14th day of RAJAB 15th day of RAJAB ( Saturday, 31st March). Let's CONCLUDE on our lessons on suuratul Faatihah. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. The Comprehensiveness of Islam: Every group, methodology, and ideology will have some method or idea which it sees as the primary driver of Islamic reform for the individual and the community. Some groups oriented around Tasawwuf (self-improvement) will focus on spiritual purification. Others focused around societal change will focus on activism in the community – both social and political. Other organizations will focus on righteous deeds and worship. Yet others will focus on knowledge. However we see that when Allah (swt) describes the people who have His Grace, they represent ALL of these various interests and agendas. They are according to Qur’an, 4:69: Nabiyeen/Prophets: The bearers of the Message of Allah, the deliverers of Knowledge from Allah to humanity, and the providers of the religious foundat...
SECOND REMINDER. Yaumu Al-Sabt, 14th day of RAJAB 15th day of RAJAB ( Saturday, 31st March). LESSONS FROM SUURAH FAATIHAH continues. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue from the first reminder. How to join this company of righteous people Allah directed us to: Obey Allah and the Messenger (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Who the company consists of: the Prophets, the Siddiqeen (the truthful sincere servants of Allah), the Shuhadaa (those who testify to the Truth with their speech, and if needed will defend the Truth and the innocent with their lives), and the Swaaliheen (those who are righteous in actions). Allah (swt), then praises this group by calling it a beautiful fellowship. By naming these four groups of people in the Qur’an as those whom the Grace of Allah is upon, He has pointed us not to a set of concepts, but to a community and a set of examples. From the teachings of the Prophets we take knowledge and the framework of Truth for all that follows...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaumu Al-Sabt, 14th day of RAJAB 15th day of RAJAB ( Saturday, 31st March). LESSONS FROM SUURATUL FAATIHAH. Please don't miss a line and share to others and groups. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Allah taught us in the Qur'an to say; “Guide us along the Straight Way. The way of those whom You have bestowed Your Grace. Not of those who earn Your anger, nor of those who go astray.” (Qur’an, 1:5-7). When we examine these verses, we find that it has some very interesting qualities that make it a unique prayer. In a short examination of the above verses, we will find guidance on: Having humility as a servant of Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala (Glorified is He) in the community. Ascribing success to Allah (swt) and not to oneself. The comprehensiveness of Islam. The social nature of the Islamic message. As we explore the garden of Suuratul Faatihah, we will pick these four fruits for today in Shaa ALLAH. 1. Humility In this prayer which Allah (swt) revealed to us, it ...
THIRD REMINDER. Yaum Al-Jumuat, 13th day of RAJAB (30th March). COPING WITH PEER PRESSURE continues. Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Fellow students can have a devastating effect on the moral and piety of a Muslim. These pressures should never be underestimated, which can intimidate a Muslim into taking drugs, smoking, 'hanging out' with a socialize friends; to nightclubs, and having illegal relationships man and women, man and man or women and women affairs Astaghfirullah. Sisters feels compelled to waste money on extravagant items, 'name-tags', for the sole purpose of fitting-in. The preservation of her virginity is not a virtue, but rather a disgrace, a symbol of her 'frigidity' . It sounds crazy, but whether we ignore this or not, it is there and in a big way. Brothers must act and smell and look like the Kuffaar to avoid persecution. Anything which will take them away from their Islamic bonds. It's the right thing to abuse your parents, obeying them ...
SECOND REMINDER. Yaum Al-Jumuat, 13th day of RAJAB (30th March). COPING WITH PEER PRESSURES. Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. What happens during our educational years is very important. Many parents and community leaders brush-off unfavourable and unIslamic Muslim youth behaviour as being a short-term phenomena, a mix of hormones and bad friends. It is argued, will mature their thoughts and bring them in line. This is rarely the case. The school years form a critical part of the mental, religious and social development of our Muslim youth. Factors such as the school's curriculum, social pressures and make-up can solidly mould the direction the Muslim youth will take. By far the most dangerous influence is that of ' peer pressure ', whereby Muslims are pressured (mentally and physically) to conform to some social 'norm' or group behaviour. This can set an irreparable deviated path for the rest of their lives. It is therefore important parents decide which instituti...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaum Al-Jumuat, 13th day of RAJAB (30th March). THE BEST DAY OF THE WEEK. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Alhamdulillah for blessing us with another Mini Eid day jumuat. The term ‘Jumuah’ is derived from the Arabic root word ‘Jama’ which means a gathering; thus ‘Yaum-ul-Jumuah’ or Friday means the ‘day of gathering’, and the ‘Jumuah’ prayer signifies and implies that the believers gather in a place with the sole intention to worship their Lord together. It is absolutely obligatory that the ‘Jumuah’ or mid-day Friday prayer is prayed by a gathering of the believers at an appointed place, listen to the sermon of the speaker, and then offer a two-rakah prayer in congregation altogether. If for any reason one is late or misses the two-rakaats congregational prayer of ‘Jumuah’, he cannot re-pray the two-rakaats Jumuah prayer by himself, but must pray a normal four-rakah Dhuhr prayer. Our sisters can also participate in the Jumuat salaat if the local masjid has sisters fac...
THIRD REMINDER. Yaumu Al-Khamis, 12th day of RAJAB (Thursday, 29th March). Let's continue with our Tafseer of Aayatul KURSY. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem.  مَن ذَا ٱلَّذِى يَشْفَعُ عِندَهُ إِلاَّ بِإِذْنِهِ Meaning: Who is there who can intercede in HIS presence except as HE permit? This refers to an order and the way of this question is in the form of "Istifahm al-Inkari". This means that nobody can intercede in HIS presence except by HIS permission and will. The Mushrikeen used to think that their idols would intercede on their behalf, this is why ALLAH has explained that no intercession will work in HIS court except which HE permits. Whereas (Except which HE permits) refers to Intercession of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him), intercession of some prophets, angels and intercession of some Momineen which they will do for some others  يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْۖ Meaning: HE knoweth what (appeareth to HIS creatures as) before or after or behin...
SECOND REMINDER. Yaumu Al-Khamis, 12th day of RAJAB (Thursday, 29th March). TASFSEER OR EXPLANATION TO AAYATUL KURSY. Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue from the first reminder. There are so many important Tafsir Books But let's concentrate on the Tafseer by Imam Ibn Kathir May Allah be pleased with him. Aameen. Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem.  ٱللَّهُ لاَ إِلَـٰهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ ٱلْحَيُّ ٱلْقَيُّومُ  Meaning, ALLAH! There is none worthy of our worship but HE (There is no other so called god but ALLAH), the Living, the Self-subsisting, Eternal. Imam Ibn Kathir (rah) explains : (There is no god but ALLAH): It is a statement that HE (ALLAH) is the “ONE AND ONLY” Lord of all creations. (The Living, the Self-subsisting, Eternal) means: HE (ALLAH) is self-existing (i.e. nothing created HIM) and that HE is ever living who can never die. Qayyum is that (attribute) of ALLAH through which others exist. HE is richest of all and nothing can exist without HIS order and will.   لاَ...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaumu Al-Khamis, 12th day of RAJAB (Thursday, 29th March). THE GREATNESS OF AAYATUL KURSY. Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Reading the Holy Quran is a great way to overcome turmoil, anxiety and distress, and to relieve us. But there is one particular Aayah or verse in particular that Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam spoke of, that is said to give its reader great benefits in this life and the afterlife and that's Aayatul Kursy (Quran 2:255), also known as the Verse of the Throne. The narrations (hadith) that speak of the virtues, and benefits, of Ayatul KURSY are numerous. Let me quote one at least: Narrated Abu Huraira (r.a): Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam ordered me to guard the Zakat revenue of Ramadan. Then somebody came to me and started stealing of the foodstuff. I caught him and said, “I will take you to Allah’s Apostle!” Then Abu Huraira described the whole narration and in short said: That person said (to me), “Please don’t take me...
THIRD REMINDER. Yaumu Ar-Raaba'ā, 11th day of RAJAB (Wednesday, 28th March). GOOD LEADERSHIP CAN ONLY BE ACHIEVED THROUGH PATIENCE AND CERTAINTY. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue from todays reminders; The Third Principle: Guiding the creation and calling them to Allaah and His Messenger. The Exalted said: And who is better in speech than he who invites (men) to Allaah (Islamic Monotheism), does righteous deeds and says, I am one of the Muslims. [Soorah Fussilat (41):33]. Al-Hasan al-Basree said, This is the beloved of Allaah, this is the Friend (waliyy) of Allaah. He submitted to Allaah, acted in obedience to Allaah and called the creation to Him. (i) These types of people are the most-excellent of all the types of people, the highest of them in rank on the Day of Judgement in the Sight of Allaah and those whom Allaah has excluded from the losers (mentioned) in His saying: By Al-'Asr (the time). Verily man is in loss. Except those who believe, do right...
SECOND REMINDER. Yaumu Ar-Raaba'ā, 11th day of RAJAB (Wednesday, 28th March). GOOD LEADERSHIP CAN ONLY BE ACHIEVED THROUGH PATIENCE AND CERTAINTY. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue From the first reminder; So ALLAH, free from all imperfections, attached the wastage and ruin of ones actions and loss with the following of desires, which is taking enjoyment from one's share of desires, and with the following of doubts, which is arguing by falsehood. LEADERSHIP IS ALSO BY CALLING TO ALLAAH WITH WHAT HE HAS COMMANDED Just as HE, free from all imperfections, has linked leadership in the religion with patience and certainty, the aayah' also contains two further principles: (i) The first: Calling to Allaah and to the guidance of His creation. (ii) The second: Guiding them with what HE has commanded, upon the tongue of His Messenger, not what is demanded by their intellects, opinions, political manoeuvres, tastes and the blind-following of their predecessors...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaumu Ar-Raaba'ā, 11th day of RAJAB (Wednesday, 28th March). GOOD LEADERSHIP CAN ONLY BE ACHIEVED THROUGH PATIENCE AND CERTAINTY. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. ALLAH who is free from all imperfections, has informed us that good leadership is obtained through patience (sabr) and certainty (yaqeen). The Exalted said: And I have made from among them (His Creation), leaders, giving guidance under My Command, when they were patient and believed with certainty in My Signs. [Soorah as-Sajdah (32):24]. Therefore, it is by patience and certainty that leadership in the religion is obtained. This means that whatever position you are offered, you must be patient and have strong faith in ALLAH to guide you through regardless of what position it is even parents on their children, supervisors and managers at work, imams in our masaajids etc. Firm faith in Allah through patience in whatever happens is the source of successful end. To be continued in Shaa ALLAH. May ALLAH kee...
THIRD REMINDER. Yaumu Al-thalaatha, 10th day of RAJAB (Tuesday 27th March). DUA IS OUR WEAPON AND SOLUTIONS TO ALL OUR PROBLEMS. Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. As Muslims there is something really wrong with our eemaan if we can mistrust Allah to be visiting so called maalams (source sayers) sitting in their small rooms with sand and other things using evil jinns to deceive us and also damage our relationship with Allah. I like to remind ourselves about this topic bcs its becoming serious now in our communities bcs we've decided not to learn our deen as such we've falling prey to evill jinns. What most people don't know how they operate is that they will make sure you always have problems so that they make money out of you always and lie to you. The jinns will tell them something about you or what's bothering you so that you can believe them well. Astaghfirullah. If you've visited them or any one for any help spiritually please seek forgiveness from Allah regul...
SECOND REMINDER: Yaumu Al-thalaatha, 10th day of RAJAB (Tuesday 27th March). LET'S STRIVE TO ENTER JANNAT WITHOUT ACCOUNTABILITY. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Ibn `Abbas (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "I was shown the past nations. I saw a Prophet who had a very small group (less than ten in total) with him, another Prophet who was accompanied by only one or two men and some did not have even one. Suddenly I was shown a huge crowd and I thought that they were my Ummah, but I was told: 'This is Musa (Moses) and his people, but look towards the other side.' I looked and beheld a great assemblage. I was told: 'These are your people and amongst them there are seventy thousand who shall enter Jannah without being taken to account or torment". Then the Prophet (PBUH) stood up and went into his apartment, and the Companions began to guess who may be those people who would enter Jannah without any accounting or torment. ...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaumu Al-thalaatha, 9th day of RAJAB (Tuesday 27th March). FIRM BELIEF AND PERFECT RELIANCE ON ALLAH SHOULD BE OUR PRIORITY AS MUSLIMS. Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Allah, the Exalted, says: "The believers are only those who, when Allah is mentioned, feel a fear in their hearts; and when His Verses (this Qur'an) are recited unto them, they (i.e., the Verses) increase their Faith; and they put their trust in their Creator(Alone)(8:2). Ibn `Abbas (May Allah be pleased with them) said: When (Prophet) Ibrahim (Abraham) was thrown into the fire, he said: "Allah (Alone) is sufficient for us, and, He is the Best Disposer of affairs.'' So did Messenger of Allah Muhammad (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) when he was told: "A great army of the pagans had gathered against him, so fear them". But this (warning) only increased him and the Muslims in Faith and they said: "ALLAH (Alone) is sufficient for us, and HE is the Best Disposer of aff...
THIRD REMINDER. Yaumul Ithnayn, 9th day of RAJAB (Monday 26th March). VIOLENTLY REBELLING AGAINST UNJUST RULER. Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. It is not lawful for us to violently rebel against an unjust Muslim ruler, or any ruler, as long as we can practice the basics of Islam in safety. Rather, Muslims should be patient and encourage reform through non-violent action. Obedience to civil laws, whether in a Muslim or non-Muslim state, is obligatory as long as we are not commanded to commit sins. If the rulers command us to commit sins or they stubbornly persist in oppression, then we must strive to reform them without resorting to violence or destabilizing civil order. Allah says: يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا أَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُوا الرَّسُولَ وَأُولِي الْأَمْرِ مِنكُمْ O you who believe, obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those in authority among you. Surat al-Nisa 4:59 Ibn Umar reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: السَّمْعُ وَالطَّاعَةُ عَلَى ...
SECOND REMINDER. Yaumul Ithnayn, 9th day of RAJAB (Monday 26th March). ISLAM IS A MERCY FOR THE ENTIRE CREATION, EVEN TO ENEMIES OF ISLAM. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue from the first reminder; Not only should we be merciful to human beings, but we also need to be merciful to the animals, trees etc. All of Allah’s creatures have rights in Islam, humans, trees and animals, so it is the duty of Muslims to uphold, and protect their natural rights. Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Once a man suffered from thirst while he was walking on a journey. When he found a well, he climbed down into it and drank from it. Then he came out and saw a dog lolling its tongue from thirst and licking the ground. The man said: this dog has suffered thirst just as I have suffered from it. So he climbed down into the well, filled his shoe with water, and caught it in his mouth as he climbed up; then he gave the dog a drink. Allah appr...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaumul Ithnayn, 9th day of RAJAB (Monday 26th March). ISLAM IS A MERCY FOR THE ENTIRE CREATION, EVEN TO ENEMIES OF ISLAM. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. ISLAM teaches us to be merciful to the entire creation, to Muslims and non-Muslims, to friends and enemies and even to the animals, trees, rocks etc. Mercy (Raḥmah) in Islam has a very wide meaning that includes kindness, compassion, love, tolerance, patience with people, and to treat others the way we would love to be treated. This Islamic value is at the core of the prophetic message and meaning of faith, just as it was in all of the revealed religions before Islam. Every Muslim needs to strive to be an agent of mercy on earth for all human beings and creatures. Allah says to the nearest meaning: وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلَّا رَحْمَةً لِّلْعَالَمِينَ I have not sent you except as mercy to the worlds. Suurat al-Anbiya 21:107. Which means mercy to everything on earth. Allah intends for the mercy of Islam to touch eve...
THIRD REMINDER. Yaumul Ahad, 8th day of RAJAB (Sunday 25th March). THE TRAPS OF SATAN ON BELIEVERS). Let's study them and act against them as protection of our eemaan. Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. The fifth trap of Sheitan to be careful about is Arousing Desires “Satan promises them and arouses desire in them. But Satan does not promise them except delusion. Qur’an 4:120: Every human has desires and temptations. Satan plays on this and convinces man to indulge in instant gratification without considering the consequences. This inevitably leads to regret and humiliation, either in this life or on the Day of Judgement. Sixth trap is Wasting Time: If Satan cannot trap someone into sinning, he keeps them busy with trivial acts which have no benefit. Instead of using our time wisely, fulfilling our priorities and reaching high goals, Satan occupies us with useless actions. How to Defeat Satan. “Indeed, Satan is an enemy to you; so take him as an enemy...”Qur’an 35:6: The first ...
SECOND REMINDER. Yaumul Ahad, 8th day of RAJAB (Sunday 25th March). THE TRAPS OF SATAN ON BELIEVERS). Let's study them and act against them as protection of our eemaan. Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue from the first reminder; Neglecting Obligatory Deeds. “...Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing...” Qur’an 29:45: Satan wants to “...avert us from the remembrance of Allah and from prayer.” Qur’an 5:91: Allah has made certain actions obligatory on every Muslim, the most regular of which is the five daily prayers. Therefore, Satan seeks to make us neglectful of prayers so that we fall further into sin. The Third trap is Gradual Deception: Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) explained to us how idol worship originated, which highlights the gradual and patient approach of Satan. After a group of righteous people died, Satan inspired those around them to erect statues in their honour and as reminder of their righteousness. When that generation passed aw...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaumul Ahad, 8th day of RAJAB (Sunday 25th March). THE TRAPS OF SATAN ON BELIEVERS). Let's study them and act against them as protection of our eemaan. Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. The foundation of Islam is the belief in the Oneness of GOD(ALLAH), having no partner, equal, son or rivals. Conversely, the greatest sin is to ascribe partners or equals with ALLAH as many Christians does which then nullifies their beliefs in Jesus Christ peace be upon him. Thus, tempting mankind into disbelief is Satan’s main focus. However, if Satan cannot mislead people to commit clear acts of disbelief, he resorts to more subtle means, such as the belief in superstitions, good luck charms, astrology and fortune telling, fake miracles etc. Such beliefs contradict the fact that ALLAH alone has power and knowledge over all things, and is the Only One Who can bring benefit or harm. Innovation in the Religion of Islam is another trap of Sheitaan to deviate us. “...I have perfected...
THIRD REMINDER. Yaumu Al-Sabt, 7th day of RAJAB (Saturday, 24th March). LET'S FEAR ALLAH AND AVOID FORNICATION OR STOP IT IF YOU ARE ALREADY IN IT. Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Allah tells us that He is Aware of what people do, and that nothing is hidden from Him. As Allah says “Allaah knows the fraud of the eyes, and all that the breasts conceal” Ghaafir 40:19]. We must fear our Lord in secret and in public, and keep away from that which Allah has forbidden of being alone with a member of the opposite sex, looking, kissing and other haraam actions which lead to the immoral action of zina. lets avoid using the excuse of marrying the person to start abusing ourselves. Sheitan is clever in that. The person who has committed any of these actions has to repent to ALLAH, for whoever repents ALLAH will accept his repentance, and the one who repents is like one who did not sin at all. Alhamdulillah. One of the greatest means of expiation for such sins is offering the five daily pra...
SECOND REMINDER. Yaumu Al-Sabt, 7th day of RAJAB (Saturday, 24th March). DO WE REALLY APPLY IN OUR DAILY LIFE WHAT WE LEARN FROM ALLAH AND HIS MESSENGER? Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Learning knowledge should be for the sake of Allaah, that's acting upon that knowledge to please Allah, otherwise knowledge will have an evil consequence, so we remain between two illnesses, either the illness of ignorance or the illness of knowledge which is not beneficial, but rather harmful. The knowledge which Prophet Muhammad (sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam) came with is in itself beneficial. However, if a person does not act upon it then it becomes an evil consequence for him, and harmful for him, and perhaps it could harm others.’ What is required from learning knowledge, is acting upon it, and action cannot come except after knowledge. let's make sure that whatever we do in Life as Muslims is based on knowledge of Islam not by our heart desires else we will waste our time in dunya and ...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaumu Al-Sabt, 7th day of RAJAB (Saturday, 24th March). DO WE REALLY APPLY IN OUR DAILY LIFE WHAT WE LEARN FROM ALLAH AND HIS MESSENGER? Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. We learnt so many things on daily basis but do not act on them unfortunately and this is due to satanic influences which we must declare war against. We have learnt that, if we say SINCERELY "Subhaanallaahi wa bihamdiHi Subhaanallahil Atheem" a hundred times, our sins would be forgiven, even if they were as much as the foam of the sea Yet, several days and nights go by us and yet, we do NOT say these words. We have learnt that, whoever voluntarily fasts a single day for ALLAH sake, ALLAH would distance his face from the fire. Yet, we do NOT observe voluntary fasts. We are aware that, whoever visits a sick person would have many angels follow him back as he returns home, seeking ALLAH'S forgiveness for him Yet, we don't visit the sick as much as we can. We have learnt that, whoever ...
THIRD REMINDER. Yaumul Jumuat, 6th day of Rajab. (Friday. 23rd March). Let's study and share to others. SINCERITY IN OUR GOOD DEEDS IS CRUCIAL. Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Ikhlas (roughly translated as sincerity and determination) is the highest level of worship. Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) said in the Qur’an, speaking about the people of Bani Israel: “And they were not commanded except to worship Allah, in absolute sincerity…” (Surah Al-Bayyinah, 5) In Surah Az-Zumar (2), Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) said: “Indeed, We have sent down to you the Book, [O Muhammad], in truth. So worship Allah, with absolute sincerity…” In addition, in relation to our state of being, our human fitra (innate nature) and conscience are connected to Allah (subhana wa ta’ala). So what is a good deed or action? Good deeds and actions are what Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) described in Surah Al-Mulk (2), when He said: “[He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed – and He...
SECOND REMINDER. Yaumul Jumuat, 6th day of Rajab. (Friday. 23rd March). Let's study and share to others. Let’s aim to always support anyone who tries to do good and pray for them so that ALLAH will reward us with even better fortune. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. If we envy someone and try to disgrace them, ALLAH will humiliate us. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever defends the honor of his brother (fellow muslim), then ALLAH will protect his face from the Hellfire on the Day of Resurrection.”Sunan At-Tirmidhi 1931. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Do not rejoice over your brother’s misfortune, lest ALLAH have mercy upon him and subject you to trials. ‘Sunan At-Tirmidhi 2506. The Messenger of ALLAH, peace and blessings be upon him, say, “Whoever seeks forgiveness for the believing men and women, then ALLAH will record a good deed for him for each believing man and woman.”Musnad Ash-Shamiyeen At-Tabarani 2118. We ask ...
FIRST REMINDER: Yaumul Jumuat, 6th day of Rajab. (Friday. 23rd March). Let's study and share to others. OUR SUSTENANCE IS FROM ALLAH IF INDEED WE OBEY AND FOLLOW HIS COMMANDS. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. "There is no moving creature on earth but its sustenance depends on ALLAH: HE knows the time and place of its definite abode and its temporary deposit: All is in a clear Record". Qur'an, Hud, 11: 6 This clear Qur'anic teachings destroy the basic assumptions of Population Control campaign. ALLAH says "And the earth I have spread out (like a carpet); set thereon mountains firm and immovable; and produced therein all kinds of things in due balance. And I have provided therein means of subsistence, for you and for those for whose sustenance you are not responsible." [Hijr 15:19-20]. ALLAHU AKBAR. "And ALLAH has brought you out from the wombs of your mothers while you know nothing. And HE gave you hearing, sight, and hearts that you might give ...
THIRD REMINDER: Yaumu Al-Khamis, 5th day of Rajab (Thursday, 22nd March). LET'S STRIVE TO BE GOOD PRACTICING MUSLIM NOT JUST A MUSLIM BY NAME. LETS SHARE AND ASK QUESTIONS. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Having fear and hope in ALLAH is a good character to make us good muslims. Indeed, no one despairs of relief from ALLAH except the disbelieving people. (Surah Yusuf 12:87). One must be hopeful of ALLAH'S mercy and forgiveness and fearful of His punishment. It is this fear that should lead one to seek ALLAH'S forgiveness with hope. ALLAH says: "Know that ALLAH is severe in punishment and that ALLAH is Forgiving and Merciful. (Surat al-Maaidah 5:98) In the above verse, ALLAH gives us reason to fear because HIS punishment is justly severe, as well as good reason to have hope, since HE is the Most Forgiving and Merciful. There should be a balance between fear and hope and not too much or too less of one or the other. We should always remain between fear and hope. For,...
SECOND REMINDER: Yaumu Al-Khamis, 5th day of Rajab (Thursday, 22nd March). LET'S STRIVE TO BE GOOD PRACTICING MUSLIM NOT JUST A MUSLIM BY NAME. LETS SHARE AND ASK QUESTIONS. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue from the first Reminder; Sincerely repenting to ALLAH. ALLAH says: O son of Adam, if your sins were to reach the clouds of the sky and you would then seek My forgiveness, I would forgive you. ALLAHU AKBAR. When a person sins and then sincerely turns to ALLAH for forgiveness, one will find ALLAH ready to accept his repentance and to forgive him, as this verse indicates: "And whoever does a wrong or wrongs himself, but then seeks forgiveness from ALLAH, he will find ALLAH forgiving and merciful. (Surat an-Nisaa 4:110). Repentance is an act, which purifies the soul and brings the servant closer to ALLAH. It puts the heart at rest from guilt. It protects one from falling prey to his desires and lusts and increases his faith. We must ask ourselves this ques...
FIRST REMINDER: Yaumu Al-Khamis, 5th day of Rajab (Thursday, 22nd March). LET'S STRIVE TO BE GOOD PRACTICING MUSLIM NOT JUST A MUSLIM BY NAME. LETS SHARE AND ASK QUESTIONS. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Having good manners, character and being humble. Many of us think that “a perfect Muslim” is simply one who is correct in the observance of the salah (ritual Prayer), the fasting, the zakah (payment of a certain portion of one’s wealth to the poor), and the Hajj (pilgrimage to Makkah). This indeed is not the case. If the ritual observances do not help the person to be humble, virtuous and truly God-fearing, then he or she is not a true Muslim. A Muslim should be good and just in dealing with others, no matter their religion, and take special care to keep away from all the shameful and sinful things ALLAH (God) has forbidden. One can never get close to Allah by being arrogant, full of pride and having a bad character and manners. Those who have humility and are humble and have g...
THIRD REMINDER. Yaumu Ar-Raaba'ā, 4th day of Rajab. SEEKING KNOWLEDGE. Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue from today's reminders; The Prophet Muhammed sallallahu alaihi wasallam showed to us the noble status of the learned people of His Ummah: Abu Umamah relates that the Prophet said, "A learned one is as much above an (ordinary) worshiper as I am above the least of you; and he added: ALLAH, HIS Angels and all those in the heavens and in the earth, even the ants in their holes and the fish in the water, call down blessings on those who instruct people in beneficent knowledge." (Related by Tirmithi). Better still, he declared that the 'Ulama' (those who have Islamic knowledge) are his heirs: Abu Darda' said that he heard the Prophet saying, "The 'Ulama' are heirs of the Prophets, and the Prophets do not leave an inheritance of Dirhams and Dinars but (they left) only knowledge. He who acquires knowledge acquires a vast portion....
SECOND REMINDER. Yaumu Ar-Raaba'ā, 4th day of Rajab (Wednesday, 21st March). SEEKING KNOWLEDGE. Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue from the first reminder; Our beloved messenger of ALLAH sallallahu alaihi wasallam used to stimulate his companions to seek knowledge: Ibn Mas'ud relates that the Prophet said, "Only two persons are worthy of being envied; a person upon whom ALLAH bestows riches and gives him the power to spend it in a righteous cause; and a person upon whom ALLAH bestows wisdom by which he judges and which he teaches." (Related by Bukhari and Muslim). He ordained all his companions and, thus, every Muslim who possesses some knowledge, even as little as one verse to disseminate what they know to others: He said, "Convey (what you learn from me) even if only one verse…" (Related by Bukhari). He assured all those who disseminate his knowledge that they will get the same reward of any Muslim who acts upon that knowledge: Abu Hura...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaumu Ar-Raaba'ā, 4th day of Rajab. SEEKING KNOWLEDGE. Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. We all know from the command of ALLAH through our beloved Messenger of ALLAH that seeking Islamic knowledge is compulsory upon all Muslims. ALLAH also says that "It is only those who have knowledge among His servants that fear ALLAH." (Qur'an, Fatir 35:28). The Messenger of ALLAH gave glad tidings to anyone who undertakes the task of seeking knowledge. Abu Hurayrah relates that the Prophet said, "For him who embarks on the path of seeking knowledge, ALLAH will ease for him the way to paradise." (Related by Muslim) If no Hadith on the importance of knowledge besides this one had been uttered by the Prophet , it would have been enough for Muslims. Yet the Prophet did more than that: find out in the second reminder in Shaa ALLAH. May ALLAH aid us in our efforts to keep learning Islam. Aameen.
THIRD REMINDER. Yaumu Al-thalaatha, 3rd day of Rajab (Tuesday, 20th March). ANIMALS THAT ARE HALAAL OR HARAAM TO EAT OR SELL IN ISLAM Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue from the second reminder; it's long but very informative in Shaa ALLAH. 7) The seventh principle is that all terrestrial predatory animals and beasts, i.e. animals that hunt with their teeth, are considered Haram, such as a lion, cheetah, tiger, leopard, wolf, fox, dog, cat, etc. 8) The eighth principle is that all birds of prey, i.e. those that hunt with their claws/talons, are considered Haram, such as a falcon, eagle, kite, hawk, bat, etc. The proof for both these principles (seven and eight) is the famous Hadith of Sayyiduna Abd Allah ibn Abbas (Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) prohibited the eating of all fanged beasts of prey, and all the birds having talons.” (Sahih Muslim, no: 1934) Hence, all beasts and birds of prey, beasts ...
SECOND REMINDER. Yaumu Al-thalaatha, 3rd day of Rajab (Tuesday, 20th March). ANIMALS THAT ARE HALAAL OR HARAAM TO EAT OR SELL IN ISLAM. Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue from the first reminder; it's long but very informative in Shaa ALLAH. Below are the basic principles of permissibility and impermissibility in the Imam Hanafi School with regards to animal consumption, as mentioned in the classical books of Hanafi jurisprudence. (Culled from: al-Fatawa al-Hindiyya, 5/289-291, Bada’i al-Sana’i, 5/35-39 and Radd al-Muhtar, 304-308). 1) Animals that have been clearly and explicitly prohibited in the Qur’an or Sunnah are without doubt Haram, such as a swine(pick), donkey, etc. 2) Animals that are born and live in water are all Haram with the exception of fish. All types of fishes are Halal, with the exception of that which dies naturally in the sea without any external cause. However, if a fish was to die due to some external cause such as cold, heat, being thrown...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaumu Al-thalaatha, 3rd day of Rajab (Tuesday, 20th March). ANIMALS THAT ARE HALAAL OR HARAAM TO EAT OR SELL IN ISLAM Our topic today is broad as such each reminder is a bit long so bear with me as it takes only under 3 minutes to read through so spare that for your faith. [Mufti] Muhammad ibn Adam, Darul Iftaa Leicester , UK wrote an excellent article on Animals. I will be sharing his knowledge for my three reminders today and hopefully by the end of these reminders, we will all be having enough knowledge as to which animals are Halaal or Haraam in Shaa ALLAH. Islam is a religion of mercy and compassion. It only commands and prohibits that which is in the best interests of the human being. The human mind however, due to it being very limited and restricted, may not be able to understand the logic behind every ruling. It may not be able to comprehend properly why a particular ruling is given, but ALLAH Most High- the Merciful and All-Knowing- is the best to decid...
THIRD REMINDER. Yaumul Ithnayn, 2nd day of Rajab (Monday. 19th March). THE ROPE OF ALLAH. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue from today's reminders; So ALLAH is telling us that the cause of disputing would be the loss of courage and the strength would be gone and it will depart us, and the Prophet told us salla Allahu alahi wa sallam that his Ummah would divide into 73 sects, all are in hell except one, those who are following his footsteps and the footsteps of his companions. If you look around us, you will find that there are a lot of small nations and countries (muslims), but they are not united – and if you looked at the muslims in non muslims countries you will find them groups and sects (again they don’t have one to represent them and that is why people look down at them). That is why non-muslims invented what is known as ‘divide and conquer’ or ‘divide and rule’, and this is what they had done with the muslims, they are in every valley, spreading, not allo...
SECOND REMINDER. Yaumul Ithnayn, 2nd day of Rajab (Monday. 19th March). THE ROPE OF ALLAH. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. ALLAH the Almighty says in the Quran (translation of the meanings): ”And verily this is my straight path, so follow it and follow not other paths for they would separate you away from Allah’s path” Qur’an 6:153 going. In the Tafseer of Sheikh Ibn Kathir may ALLAH be pleased with him, we learned what Sheikh Ali bin Abi Talha reported that Sheikh Ibn Abbas may Allah be pleased with him commented on this verse along side Quran 42:13 which require us to establish a one way of life Base on Quran and Sunnah without adhering to any division and said we are commanded to adhere to the Jamaa'ah and forbade us from causing divisions and disputes. When the Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam finally migrated from Macca to Madinah, he found that the Ansar, who came to support him, were divided into al Aws and al Hazraj, and they had an hundred years old feud am...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaumul Ithnayn, 2nd day of Rajab (Monday. 19th March). THE ROPE OF ALLAH. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Allah says in the Holy Qur'an chapter 3 verse 103 going that; And hold fast, all of you together, to the Rope of Allah (i.e. this Qur'an), and be not divided among yourselves, and remember Allah's Favour on you, for you were enemies one to another but He joined your hearts together, so that, by His Grace, you became brethren (in Islamic Faith), and you were on the brink of a pit of Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus ALLAH makes His Aayaat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.,) clear to you, that you may be g...
THIRD REMINDER. Yaumul Ahad, 1st day of Rajab (18th March). THE FORGETFULNESS PROSTRATION (SUJUUD ASSAHW) POPULARLY TERM AS QABLI AND BAADI IN SALAAT. As human beings, we are by nature subject to mistakes and errors. If a person fails to perform any of the pillars of the prayer and/or necessary duties, that person is required to rectify the error by making two additional prostrations at the end of the prayer known as “SUJJUD ALSAHW”. i.e. forgetfulness prostration. But where a pillar(s) is omitted, a repetition of the missed pillar(s) is necessary. We were thought how the Prophet corrected his errors during salaat in two authentic Hadith and the following can be studied from the two Hadith. The four major types of errors due to forgetfulness are as follows: 1. If an addition is made to the prayer e.g. praying Dhuhr with 5 rakaa instead of 4, then the two additional prostrations for forgetfulness should be performed after saying “Assalaamu Alaikum”(TASLEEM). 2. If a prayer is perfor...
SECOND REMINDER. Yaumul Ahad, 1st day of Rajab (18th March). OBLIGATORY (WAAJIBAAT) AND SUMNAH PART OF WUDUU. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue from the first reminder; The sunnahs of wuduu are numerous. Shaykh Saalih al-Fawzaan (may Allah preserve him) said: The sunnahs of wudoo’ are as follows: 1. Using siwaak (toothstick), which is to be done when rinsing the mouth, so that by means of the siwak and rinsing the mouth, the mouth will be cleansed for worship and be prepared for recitation of Qur’an and conversing with ALLAH, may HE be glorified and exalted. 2. Washing the hands three times when starting wudoo’, before washing the face, because of the hadiths which speak of that, and because the hands are the tools used to transport water to the other parts of the body, so washing them is prudent action before proceeding with wudoo’. 3. Starting by rinsing the mouth and nose before washing the face, because starting with them is mentioned in the hadiths; and one shou...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaumul Ahad, 1st day of Rajab (18th March). OBLIGATORY (WAAJIBAAT) AND SUMNAH PART OF WUDUU. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem. ALLAH, may He be exalted, says: “O you who believe! When you intend to offer As-Salat (the prayer), wash your faces and your hands (forearms) up to the elbows, rub (by passing wet hands over) your heads, and (wash) your feet up to ankles”[al-Maa’idah 5:6]. From the above we can notice that the essential parts (“pillars”) of wuduu are six: 1. Washing the face, of which the mouth and nose are part. 2. Washing the arms up to the elbows. Which includes the palms. 3. Wiping the head. Which includes the ears. 4. Washing the feet up to the ankles. 5. Washing these parts of the body in the proper order. 6. Doing these actions consecutively (that is, washing one after the other, with no lengthy lapse of time in between). Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy on him) said: What is meant by the obligatory (fard) parts of wudoo’ here is the essentia...
THIRD REMINDER. Yaumu Al-Sabt, 29th day of Jumaadal Aakhir (Saturday, 17th March). CHANGING OUR NEGATIVE BEHAVIOUR INTO POSITIVE WAYS OF LIFE. Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. If your character is negative, you have the power and the choice to do what it takes to alter it. The greatest power we have as human beings is the power of choice. Almighty Allah says in Quran [76:3] “He has shown us the way to be either grateful or ungrateful.” This is simply about choice, either to be thankful and turn towards the way of Allah or being ungrateful and turning towards your own heart desires. If your character is flawed, you can change it. You can change your worldly character to Godly character by : • Changing your words and thought patterns; • Making the word of Allah your final authority in life; • Doing what is right at all times; • Doing away with friends who have worldly character; • Walking in love and offering others the advantage at all times; • Being willing to pay the price, a...
SECOND REMINDER. Yaumu Al-Sabt, 29th day of Jumaadal Aakhir (Saturday, 17th March). SOME CALAMITIES MAY BE BLESSINGS IN DISGUISE. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Do not resent the calamities that come and the disasters that occur, for perhaps in something that you dislike will be your salvation, and perhaps in something that you prefer will be your doom.' So have faith in Allah and trust in Him and although, sometimes we may not understand the reason behind certain things, know that as long as you obey Him, whatever He will do for you is, in fact for your betterment. So if Allah didn't give you that big house, or that nice car you wanted or that lovely sister/ brother you were hoping for, know in your mind and believe in your heart that it is actually better for you. Who knows.....maybe that big house, that car or that brother/ sister would have become a source of 'fitnah' (test) for you....Perhaps you would have become arrogant and conceited because of it, and Allah...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaumu Al-Sabt, 29th day of Jumaadal Aakhir (Saturday, 17th March). BEEN PATIENT DURING DIFFICULT TIMES IS ACTUALLY AN ACT OF WORSHI. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem. If you have been sick and suffering, sure it is not easy. But again, know in your mind and believe in your heart that it is indeed better for you. For, if you bear patiently, it will be a means of expiation for your sins and a source of great reward. The Prophet (sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) said: 'There is nothing that befalls a believer, not even a thorn that pricks him, but Allah will record one good deed for him and will remove one bad deed from him.' (By Imam Muslim). And: 'On the Day of Resurrection, when people who had suffered affliction are given their reward, those who were healthy will wish their skins had been cut to pieces with scissors when they were in the world (when they see the immense rewards for the afflictions they suffered).' (By ImamTirmidhi-Saheeh by al-Albaani). ...
THIRD REMINDER. Yaumul Jumuat, 28th day of Jumaadal Aakhir (Friday 16th March). LET'S STRIVE TO SOFTEN OUR HEART. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem. It is a curse to have a hardened heart and it is a blessing to have a soft heart. Those with hardened hearts suffer in this life, even though they may have all of the trappings of this life. What seems to be an enjoyable life is empty, it is filled with loneliness. They cannot find peace of mind and of heart because their hearts are hardened to ALLAH to belief in ALLAH, to submission to ALLAH. That is why ALLAH says, "Whoever turns away from my remembrance will have a wretched life." [Al-Qur'an 20:124]. and, "Whosoever turns away from My Message, verily for him is a life narrowed down, and We shall raise him up blind on the Day of Judgement." What is most beneficial in this life is a soft heart. We should strive to achieve it because everything else would be meaningless and useless if we do not have softened hea...
