THIRD REMINDER. Yaumu Al-Raaba'a, 12th day of Jumaadal Aakhir (Wednesday, 28th February). Let's study about been patient in life. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Patience is the key to happiness in life and gaining Allahs pleasure on us so for better for worse lets always say Alhamdulillah as our beloved Messenger of Allah(peace be upon him and his entire family and companions) thought us to always say "Alhamdulillah Alaa kulli haal" Allaah has made patience like a horse that never gets tired, an army that can never be defeated and a strong fortress that can never be breached. Patience and victory are twin brothers, for victory comes with patience, relief comes with distress and ease comes with hardship. Patience is of more help to the one who has it than men, as it helps without any need for equipment or numbers and its relationship to victory is like that of the head to the body. In the Qur’aan, Allaah has guaranteed those who are patient that He will give them...
SECOND REMINDER. Yaumu Al-Raaba'a, 12th day of Jumaadal Aakhir (Wednesday, 28th February). DECLARE WAR AGAINST YOUR SINS THROUGH GOOD DEEDS. Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Our beloved mother queen Aa'ishah may ALLAH be pleased with her reported: A group of Jews asked permission to visit the Prophet and when they were admitted they said, “Death be upon you.” I said to them, “Rather, death and the curse of Allah be upon you!” The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: يَا عَائِشَةُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ رَفِيقٌ يُحِبُّ الرِّفْقَ فِي الْأَمْرِ كُلِّهِ O Aaisha, Allah is kind and HE loves kindness in all matters. Sahih Bukhari 6528, Grade: Muttafaqun Alayhi. Al-Bukhari cited this tradition as evidence that the Prophet did not punish non-Muslims who blasphemed against him. On another occasion, the Prophet was asked to invoke curses upon the idolaters who were persecuting the Muslims and he refused to do so. Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and ...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaumu Al-Raaba'a, 12th day of Jumaadal Aakhir (Wednesday, 28th February). DECLARE WAR AGAINST YOUR SINS THROUGH GOOD DEEDS. Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. ALLAH has praised those who respond to evil with good deeds. Those who repel evil with good will find that their enemies will become their friends. ALLAH says: Not equal are the good deed and the bad deed. Repel evil by that which is better, and then the one who is hostile to you will become as a devoted friend. But none is granted it except those who are patient and none is granted it except one having a great fortune. Quran 41:34-35. Sheikh Ibn Abbas may ALLAH be pleased with him commented on this verse, saying: ALLAH commands the believers to be patient when they feel angry, to be forbearing when confronted with ignorance, and to forgive when they are mistreated. If they do this, ALLAH will save them from Satan and subdue their enemies to them until they become like close friends. Qur'an 41:34. Allah ha...
THIRD REMINDER. Yaumu Al-thalaatha, 11th day of Jumaadal Aakhir. Tuesday, 27th February. ALLAH or Sheitan? What's your choice base on your daily ways of life not by mouth. Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue from today's reminders. We should be motivated to return to ALLAH Alone at times of ease and at times of hardship. "If ALLAH helps you none can overcome you, and if He forsakes you, who is there, after HIM, that can help you. And in ALLAH (alone) let believers put their trust." (Qur'an, 3:160). ALLAHU AKBAR. "Allah says: 'Son of Aadam: Fill your time with My worship and I will fill your heart with richness, and end off your poverty. But if you don't, I would make your hands fully busy (i.e. in worldly affairs) and I would not end off your poverty.'" (At-Tirmidhi said that it is a good hadeeth). "O mankind! It is you who stand in need of ALLAH ,but ALLAH is Rich (Free of all wants and needs), Worthy of All Praise....
SECOND REMINDER. Yaumu Al-thalaatha, 11th day of Jumaadal Aakhir. Tuesday, 27th February. ALLAH or Sheitan? What's your choice base on your daily ways of life not by mouth. Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Lets consider some verses from the Quran to aid us against the satanic traps as mentioned in the first reminder: "Whatever of Mercy (i.e. of good), Allah may grant to mankind, none can withhold it, and whatever HE may withhold, none can grant it thereafter. And HE is the ALL-MIGHTY, THE ALL-WISE." (Qur'an, 35:2). "If ALLAH touches you with hurt, there is none can remove it but HE; and if HE intends any good for you, there is no one who can repel HIS favour which HE causes it to reach whomsoever of HIS slaves HE will, and HE is the Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful." (Qur'an, 10:117). With the above narrations only, why should you choose to act other than to please ALLAH knowing none can help you through ALLAH. Any form of help other from ALLAH is a tempor...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaumu Al-thalaatha, 11th day of Jumaadal Aakhir. Tuesday, 27th February. ALLAH or Sheitan? What's your choice base on your daily ways of life not by mouth. Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Religion is a way of life and our way of life must either reflect the rules of Allah for Paradise or the freedom of Sheitan for The hell-fire(Allah forbid). Judge yourself and act quick. 1. Do you dress like ALLAH commanded or you obey Sheitan showing your body parts to the public? 2. Do you obey your parents regardless of their treatment to you or you disobey them as Sheitan want? 3. Do you offer ur salaat on time at work and in masjid or combine your salawaat when you get home from work as Sheitan want? 4. Do you treat your husband/ wife as ALLAH instructed or treating him/her like a slave as Sheitan want? 5. Do you act and speak like a Muslim at a work place or you speak and act as custom dictates hey what's up, fuck u etc as Sheitan love? 6. Do you treat others as you wa...
THIRD REMINDER. Yaumul Ithnayn, 10th day of Jumaadal Aakhir (Monday, 26th February). Let's continue with the history of the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu alaihi wasallam. Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. With regard to the point on which there is scholarly disagreement, that has to do with defining the month and the day of the month. We have come across many opinions concerning that, including the following:  That he was born on 2nd day Rabeeul-Awwal. Ibn Katheer (may Allah have mercy on him) said:  It was said that he was born on the second of the month. As-Seerah an-Nabawiyyah, 1/199  It was said that he was born on 8th Rabee‘ al-Awwal. Ibn Katheer (may Allah have mercy on him) said: It was said that he was born on the eighth of the month. As-Seerah an-Nabawiyyah, 1/199  It was said that he was born on 10th Rabee ‘ al-Awwal. Ibn Katheer (may Allah have mercy on him) said: It was said that he was born on the tenth of the month. As-Seerah an-Nabawiyyah, 1/199  It was said that...
SECOND REMINDER. Yaumul Ithnayn, 10th day of Jumaadal Aakhir (Monday, 26th February). Let's continue with the history behind the birth of our beloved Messenger of ALLAH. Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem:  Among the matters on which there is consensus with regard to his birth (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) is the definition of the year and the day.  With regard to the year:  It was the Year of the Elephant. Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) said: There is no difference of opinion concerning the fact that he (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) was born in Makkah, and that his birth was in the Year of the Elephant. Zaad al-Ma‘aad fi Hadiy Khayr al-‘Ibaad, 1/76  Muhammad ibn Yoosuf as-Saalihi (may Allah have mercy on him) said:  Ibn Ishaaq (may Allah have mercy on him) said: (It was) the Year of the Elephant. Ibn Katheer said: This is the well-known view of the majority.  Ibraaheem ibn al-Mundhir al-Hizaami, the Shaykh of al-Bukhaari, said: This is the op...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaumul Ithnayn, 10th day of Jumaadal Aakhir (Monday, 26th February). TODAY IS OUR PROPHET BIRTHDAY. WHAT'S HIS BIRTH DATE? Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. As we fast today to emulate and remember our beloved messenger of Allah, lets study about the history behind his birth. Firstly: The biographers and historians differed concerning the date of the birth of the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). This is something for which there is good reason, as it was not known what status this newborn would achieve; his situation was like that of any other newborn. Hence no one can state with certainty the date of his birth (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him).  Perhaps the reason for this difference of opinion is that when he was born, no one expected that he would attend such a status. For that reason, he did not live in the spotlight from the beginning of his life. When Allah decreed that the Messenger (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) should...
THIRD REMINDER. Yaumul Ahad, 9th day of Jumaadal Aakhir (25th February). IS JESUS CHRIST GOD? Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue from the second reminder. C. Why is Jesus called the "Word of God" in both scriptures? M. The creation of Jesus in Mary's womb was without sperm, for it was the result of the decree of Allah: "Be" as mentioned in the Surah 3:47: She [Mary] said; "O, my Lord! How shall I have a son when no man has touched me?" He said: "So [it will be], for Allah creates what He will. When He has decreed something, He says to it only 'Be' and it is." **************** C. Jesus is God because he is filled with the Holy Spirit. M. But there are other people who have been filled with the Holy Ghost? Are they also divine? Look at Acts 11:24: "For he [Barnabas] was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith; and many people were added unto the Lord" and Acts 5:32: "And we are his witnes...
SECOND REMINDER. Yaumul Ahad, 9th day of Jumaadal Aakhir (25th February). IS JESUS CHRIST GOD? Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue from the first reminder; C. But these verses are all in the Old Testament. Do you find these same statements in the New Testament? M. Are you saying you don't believe in the old testament? Right, let me take you through to the new Testament. Read Mark 12:29, where it is recorded that Jesus himself said: "And Jesus answered him: 'The first of all the commandments is: Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord."' I Corinthians 8:4: "... we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one"; (I Timothy 2:5): "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus." Look at the expression "the man Christ Jesus." Now you can either say that John 1:1 is right and all these other verses are wrong, or vice versa. C. How can anybo...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaumul Ahad, 9th day of Jumaadal Aakhir (25th February). IS JESUS CHRIST GOD? Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. First of all, ask any Christian if they've heard or even witnessed a Muslim speaking against Jesus Christ peace be upon him. You will never hear that because we believe in his message and his righteousness. He thought nothing but Islam (Submission to one true God). A debate was organized between a MUSLIM and a CHRISTIAN. M=Muslim and C=Christian. M. Is Jesus God? C. Yes. In the Gospel according to John 1:1: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." Meaning Jesus Christ is God. M. We have agreed that a holy scripture should not contain contradictions. If there are two conflicting verses, then only one can be true or both are wrong, for both cannot be correct. If according to John 1:1 Jesus is God. Then how many Gods are there? Two at least. The verse you quoted says the word was WITH GOD mean...
THIRD REMIDER. Yaumu Al-Sabt, 8th day of Jumaadal Aakhir (Saturday, 24th February). THE POWER OF ISTIGHFAAR (Seeking Forgiveness). Don't miss reading this please. Don't just type Aameen, fear Allah and read through first. Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue from the second Reminder; In another hadith, Abdullah bin Abbas (May Allah be pleased with them) narrates that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) said: “The one who (regularly) says Istighfaar, that is, frequently repent to Allah Ta’aala for sins committed, Allah Azza Wa-Jal will open a path from poverty and difficulties. All sorrow and hardship will be removed, and in its place prosperity and contentment granted. One will receive sustenance from unimagined and unexpected sources.” Here are more ayaat from the Quran with great promises from Allah (swt): Then, verily! Your Lord for those who do evil (commit sins and are disobedient to Allâh) in ignorance and afterward repent and do righteous deeds, veril...
SECOND REMIDER. The Prophet peace be upon him said: Fortunate is the person who finds in his record of deeds a lot of Istighfaar. Allahu AKBAR. Imagine when you come on the Day of Judgment while you are terrified and everyone is so scared and you find mountains of hassanaat (good deeds) waiting for you because of your Istighfaar…. Istighfar relieves you. When you feel that sadness within you, when you are disturbed and frustrated, when anxiety surrounds you, say “AstaghfirulLah” “Astaghfirullah”… Reciting Astaghfiruallah is an effective method of calming our self and wipes away the variety of worldly worries from our mind and body. It may also help us, if we are suffering from depression, it calm us and lessen our depression. Not only that...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaumu Al-Sabt, 8th day of Jumaadal Aakhir (Saturday, 24th February). SECRET WEAPONG FOR SUCCESS. Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Today is Saturday so relax and read without complaining about the length 😊. Do you wish to have more ? Do you wish to get married? Do you wish to have a children? Do you wish to get a job? Do you wish to get healthy and get cured? Do you wish that all your problems go away? Are you really serious to spend just 5 minutes each day to commit to an act of worship? I have the answer to all your wishes, if you are interested please keep reading…… A man came to Sheikh Abdul Aziz Ibn Baz complaining that he wishes to have a child and that has been waiting for seven years but no luck……. Sheikh Ibn Baz answered him with one sentence, he said: Increase Istighfaar (Asking Allah for forgiveness by saying AstaghfirulLAH) Sincerely and stop sinning. After one year this man came back to Sheikh Ibn Baz and said: Ya Sheikh I got the child I wanted Alhamdu...
THIRD REMINDER. Yaumul Jumuat, 7th day of Jumaadal Aakhir (Friday, 23rd February). BOY/GIRL RELATIONSHIP, THE HIDDEN HARD TRUTH. BismilLah. Let's continue from the first and second reminder; this one is a bit long so forgive me but enjoy it with passion. A very strange excuse mostly given by sisters is that marriage is not about rush. WHEN YOU RUSH, YOU WILL CRUSH’….SubhaanAllah!! If indeed you know the implications of what you are saying in the sight of Allah, you would have started crying and seek for forgiveness. The messenger of ALLAH sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam said, a woman that trained two daughters and they get married, ALLAH assures her with Jannah. This hadith Simple means that, you can either increase the chances of your mother being assured of Jannah, than better have a change of mind. Those of you sisters who keep writing on social media that you love your mother, then show her more love by getting married. Give her the pride she so deserve, either she is dead or a...
SECOND REMINDER. Yaumul Jumuat, 7th day of Jumaadal Aakhir (Friday, 23rd February). BOY/GIRL RELATIONSHIP, THE HIDDEN HARD TRUTH. BismilLah. Let's continue from the first reminder; Be mindful of ALLAH in all your affairs and at the time you talk to each other. Know that you both are under ALLAH’S watch and beware that there shall be a day for reckoning. As soon as you are satisfied with each other’s behavior, then go ahead and get married. Involve family members in all you do. Introduce him or her to your family and leave all affairs to ALLAH. Never be alone with her or him without an adult relative. Never be romantic with each other till the mahar is paid. Some young Muslim men and women feel shy or find it hard to tell family members this is the man/woman I would want to make a wife or husband. They however, don’t find it hard that Allah is aware of each chat they make, each text messages they exchange and each thought of love they entertain in their hearts. If you find it ha...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaumul Jumuat, 7th day of Jumaadal Aakhir (Friday, 23rd February). BOY/GIRL RELATIONSHIP, THE HIDDEN HARD TRUTH. BismilLah. My dear brothers and sisters, Assalam Alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuhu. This reminder is so dear to my heart, as such for Allah’s sake pay heed and make steps towards correction if you are guilty and/or advice someone that may be guilty. Again, this reminder is as a result of numerous complaints and questions I have been receiving regarding *ISLAMIC DATING*. It is also as a results of post I have been seeing on social media regarding how rampant the youth especially die without marriage. Dating is a very delicate topic almost every muslim youth and some aged fall short. “Dating” as seen in the West today is entirely haraam and a no go area to every well-meaning Muslim, because dating as defined by western culture is NOT devoid of sex relationship, touching, alcoholism and other vices that are frowned against in Islam. However, can a mal...
THIRD REMINDER. Yaumu Al-Khamis, 5th day of Jumaadal Aakhir (22nd February). NON MUSLIMS DO ASKED, WHY ALLAH USES PLURAL "WE" SOMETIMES INSTEAD OF SINGULAR "I". Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue with our topic today. Now lets analyse some few verses when ALLAH uses the word "I". Allah says in Chapter 21 Surah Anbiyaa Verse 92-93: Indeed, this community of yours is one community, and I AM YOUR LORD: so worship ME alone. Allah says in Chapter 15 Surah Al-Hijr verst 49-50: O Prophet (saws)! Tell MY servants, " I am very Forgiving and Merciful, but at the same time MY chastisement is also very severe."Now here Allah is taking a very merciful attitude towards HIS servants, as if HE is talking to you personally! This is as if it is a personal commandment and message to each individual. What needs to be noted above is the amount of love and mercy the Merciful is coming towards us, as opposed to the verses when HE uses "WE" f...
SECOND REMINDER. The question asked above is indeed a very very interesting one and one deserving of deep thought. Many non Muslims including some Muslims think that the English translated QUR'AN is same or similar to the original Arabic QUR'AN. That's a big mistake. ALL translations are subject to errors and misinterpretation. Arabic is a rich language and no English word can do justice to any Arabic word. You need to study Arabic grammar and text context as revealed to be able to understand each verse. First lets get one thing clear. And that is the message of Tauheed; Oneness of GOD(ALLAH) in Islam. That is the primary message of the HOLY QURAN and the same message was brought by every Prophet of ALLAH who ever came to this earth, st...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaumu Al-Khamis, 6th day of Jumaadal Aakhir (22nd February). NON MUSLIMS DO ASKED, WHY ALLAH USES PLURAL "WE" SOMETIMES INSTEAD OF SINGULAR "I". Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. I like reminding on this topic frequently because many weak Muslims get confused if confronted by this question by non Muslims in an attempt to put some doubt in our eeman or faith. Unfortunately this happens to some Muslims who chooses not to study their religion and only follow blindly. One important point I want to remind all Muslim brothers and sisters is that only FEW non Muslims do respect us and our Deen or ways of life. Majority actually hate us, mock us and will do all they can to deviate you from the only way to Paradise (Islam). ALLAH and HIS Messenger said that not me. ALLAH has stated in HIS Book (The holy Quran) that the kuffaar bear enmity towards us and they would not spare any effort to cause us harm, and they wish us ill, and they will not be pleased until...
SECOND REMINDER. Yaumu Al-Arba'ā, 4th day of Jumaadal Aakhir (Wednesday, 21st February). HOW IMPORTANT IS MAKKAH AND MADEENAH  TO THE MUSLIM WORLD? BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue from the first reminder; From the studies of authentic ahadith we notice the following; The rewards and the blessings that one receives while in these blessed cities are compounded immensely.  Here are some of the rewards that can only be had in these two cities: The reward of one prayer in either the Haram in Mecca or the Prophet’s mosque is Madinah is equivalent to 1,000 prayers elsewhere. The reward for making Umrah (the minor pilgrimage) is to have all of your previous sins forgiven The reward for praying two rakah in Masjid al-Quba in Madinah is equal to the reward of making Umrah. The reward of praying in the Rawdahin the Prophet’s mosque is like praying in Junnah (heaven). The reward of tawaf can only be had in Mecca. Any good that you do in the haramain (the two mosques) ...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaumu Al-Arba'ā, 4th day of Jumaadal Aakhir (Wednesday, 21st February). HOW IMPORTANT IS MAKKAH AND MADEENAH  TO THE MUSLIM WORLD? BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem. ALLAH has made MAKKAH and MADEENAH the places of resort for mankind and a place of safety and a holy sanctuary where pilgrims can gather to perform the rituals of Hajj (Pilgrimage) and ‘Umrah (lesser pilgrimage) in an atmosphere of comfort and tranquility, hoping for Allah’s Reward and fearing His Punishment (Glorified be He). It is also a place where the reward for performing Salah (Prayer) and righteous deeds is multiplied. It's a place with 💯% security from ALLAH that's why men and women can pray together bcs Satan has no chance to influence anyone at that Holy place. As muslims it must be among our most important priorities to visit this country either for Hajj for all those who can afford. You can also plan Umra especially in Ramadan as a visit to gain more rewards and learn more about haj...
THIRD REMINDER: Yaumu Al-thalaatha, 4th day of Jumaadal Aakhir (Tuesday 20th February). IMPORTANCE OF BASMALAH (saying: Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem OR BismilLah). BismilLah. Let's continue from the second reminder; There are many narrations that emphasize the importance of the basmala. Some of them are as follows: Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “I have been revealed such a verse that has been revealed to no one but Prophet Solomon(Suleiman) alaihi salaam, the son of David and myself. This is ‘ Bismi’llahir-Rahmani’r-Rahim. Allahu Akbar. As reported the Prophet said, “Any action that is not started with Bismi’llahir-Rahmani’r-Rahim has no divine gift in it, it will not last long and it is without foundation. In another narration, the Prophet said: “Satan would certainly regard any meal that is not started with Bismi’llah as his own.” The fact that the basmala is repeated at the beginning of every chapter and in various hadiths indicates the importanc...
SECOND REMINDER: Yaumu Al-thalaatha, 4th day of Jumaadal Aakhir (Tuesday 20th February). IMPORTANCE OF BASMALAH (saying: Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem OR BismilLah). BismilLah. Let's continue from the first reminder; It is considered proper Islamic manners to begin to read or to do any action with the name of the Supreme Creator, ALLAH by saying BismilLah or In the name of ALLAH. This can be seen in the following verses: Read in and with the Name of your LORD, Who has CREATED, CREATED human from a clot clinging (to the wall of the womb). Recite, and your Lord is the All-Munificent, Who has taught (human) by the pen, taught human what he did not know. (Alaq 96:1-5). These are the verses which are the earliest revealed verses in the QUR'AN. This is in keeping with the basic Islamic principle that is emphasized in the verse, “He is the First and the Last, the All-Outward and the All-Inward. HE has full knowledge of everything” (Hadid 57:3). ALLAH (GOD) is the Unique One to Whom e...
FIRST REMINDER: Yaumu Al-thalaatha, 4th day of Jumaadal Aakhir (Tuesday 20th February). IMPORTANCE OF BASMALAH (saying: Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem OR BismilLah). BismilLah. The Holy Messenger for Mankind Muhammad(sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) is reported to have said: "Any action of importance not begun with basmalah(BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem) is devoid of blessing and therefore incomplete." The basmalah begins the Surah al-Fatihah and therefore opens the whole Quran. The Almighty describes HIMSELF by means of HIS Attributes. The Attributes of Allah are a means of us becoming knowledgeable about HIM. ALLAH , in this respect, does not only introduce the Quran but HE also introduces HIMSELF. The basmalah is an invocation of the Divine Being by HIS supreme Name (ALLAH), followed by two of HIS most beautiful names (Al-Rahman and Al-Rahim), which are in fact two of His principal Divine attributes. Bismillah literally means "In the Name of Allah", "By the ...
THIRD REMINDER. Yaumul Ithnayn, 3rd day of Jumaadal Aakhir (19th February). MISCONCEPTION TO JUSTIFY RELIGIOUS INNOVATIONS (So called Bid'atul HASANA). Let's learn and share to others. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue from today's topic; There is nothing like Bid'ah Hasana in Islam. The Sunnah Hasana is that which is in agreement with the Sharee’ah and this includes that one may initiate a Sunnah, which means that one starts practicing the Sunnah (before others and others follow him), or he revives it after it has been forgotten, or he does something that may become a means for a legislated command. So, these are three things: 1. Applying (the ruling of initiating a) Sunnah upon one, who initiates an action. This meaning is proved by the intent behind the saying of Allah’s Messenger (Sallalaahu Alaihi wa Sallam), which is encouragement towards Sadaqah (charity) to the needy people who had come to Allah’s Messenger (Sallalaahu Alaihi wa Sallam). The ...
SECOND REMINDER. Yaumul Ithnayn, 3rd day of Jumaadal Aakhir (19th February). MISCONCEPTION TO JUSTIFY RELIGIOUS INNOVATIONS (So called Bid'atul HASANA). Let's learn and share to others. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue from the first reminder. The reason/context of the Hadeeth about good sunnah is well-known. When some needy people came to Allah’s Messenger (Sallalaahu Alaihi wa Sallam), he was grieved to see their state, and he ordered and encouraged Sadaqah (charity). One man from the Sahabah stood up and gave in charity a huge amount and the people followed him because he took the first step. Allah’s Messenger (Sallalaahu Alaihi wa Sallam) said on this occasion, “He, who (Sanna) establishes/initiates a Sunnah Husna (good Sunnah) in Islam, he will have the reward of those who perform it after him until the Day of Judgment.” [Saheeh Muslim]. So, this man performed a Sunnah i.e., Sadaqah and helping the poor. Sadaqah is not a Bid'ah because it is ordere...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaumul Ithnayn, 3rd day of Jumaadal Aakhir (19th February). MISCONCEPTION TO JUSTIFY RELIGIOUS INNOVATIONS (So called Bid'atul HASANA). Let's learn and share to others. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Some Muslims misinterpret some Hadith to justify their religious Innovations. “The Hadeeth of of The Prophet which says "Man sanna sunnatan hassanattan etc, does not prove their bid'ah because Allah’s Messenger (Sallalaahu Alaihi wa Sallam) did not say, ‘Whosoever innovates a Bid'ah,’ rather he said, “Whosoever initiates a good Sunnah.” and Sunnah is the opposite of Bid'ah. The meaning of the Hadeeth is he, who performs a Sunnah which is proved by the Qur’aan and the Sunnah, he will have the reward of it (his action) and the reward of those who perform it until the Day of Judgment. (Thus) Whoever revives a Sunnah and performs it for the people, and enlightens it before them, and they follow him then he will have the reward equal to theirs. We sh...
THIRD REMINDER. Yaumul Ahad, 2nd day of Jumaadal Aakhir (Sunday 18th February). HOW DO YOU CHOOSE YOUR FUTURE SPOUSE?. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue from the first and second Reminders; Getting someone to help: Marriage is not something to throw yourself into all by yourself. Getting the help of someone, especially parents, relatives, an Imam, and/or respected and trustworthy members of the Muslim community to either look for the right spouse or initiate and participate in a communication process is very important. Involving others, by the way, does not mean signing over your right to say yes or no to a marriage proposal. It simply increases the likelihood of finding out important information about a prospective partner in a way that maintains rules of Islamic modesty (i.e. not meeting alone, see next point). Getting that third party involved also helps verify if the person you are interested in is decent, honest and respectful. This person(s) often checks out r...
SECOND REMINDER. Yaumul Ahad, 2nd day of Jumaadal Aakhir (Sunday 18th February). HOW DO YOU CHOOSE YOUR FUTURE SPOUSE?. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue from the first reminder; 2. If you're looking for a spouse, please lower your gaze. This may seem like a contradiction, but it's not. Looking for a spouse who has the right qualities and whom you are physically attracted to does not mean throwing out the obligation to lower the gaze for both sexes. Allah says “Tell the believing men to lower their gaze and be modest. That is purer for them. Indeed! Allah is aware of what they do” (Quran 24:30). “And tell the believing women to lower their gaze and be modest, and to display of their adornment only that which is apparent, and to draw their veils over their bosoms...” (Quran 24:31). “Scoping the territory”, from this perspective, would not be Islamically acceptable. Looking at the face of potential mate is recommended according to the Hadith in which the Proph...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaumul Ahad, 2nd day of Jumaadal Aakhir (Sunday 18th February). HOW DO YOU CHOOSE YOUR FUTURE SPOUSE?. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Sadly in modern days, ISLAMIC GUIDELINES pertaining to proper conduct between men and women are not always respected in meeting places. It is not uncommon to see or hear about potential candidates meeting in private, brothers and sisters “scoping the territory” for a spouse that looks good at Muslim events like conferences or lectures, or starting up a flirtatious conversation with someone they are interested in. None of these things fall within the guidelines of Islam. Such actions are the beginning to the downfall of the Marriage which has not been done. Below are some Islamic principles, both general and specific, to consider if you will be meeting or seeking a potential spouse for yourself or someone at any place. 1. Ask yourself: Why am I getting married. This is a good question to ask even if you are meeting the person to ma...
THIRD REMINDER. Yaumu Al-Sabt, 1st day of Jumaadal Aakhira/Thaani (Saturday 17th February). ISLAMIC GUIDELINES FOR GENDER INTERACTIONS. BismilLah. Let's continue from the first and second Reminders; Mixing or intermingling is a general term, which includes that which is permissible and that which is prohibited. If it is merely men and women gathering in an open space to perform shared work, whether religious or non-religious, that in itself is not prohibited, as long as the Islamic code of behavior is followed, in terms of Hijab, lowering the gaze, and the like. Women must keep away from men and vice versa as much as possible. If mingling is about men and women socializing and mixing together closely and freely, this follows the basic principle of prohibition, as long as there is no exigent need according to the criteria of Shari`ah. The prohibition of free mixing, particularly between people of young age is based on many proofs, of them, the following: The saying of Allah,...
SECOND REMINDER. Yaumu Al-Sabt, 1st day of Jumaadal Aakhira/Thaani (Saturday 17th February). ISLAMIC GUIDELINES FOR GENDER INTERACTIONS. BismilLah. Let's continue from the first Reminder; First, men are to pray in their own rows and women in their own.  They do not stand next to one another.  Second, the men’s rows are in the front and the women’s rows are at the back so men’s eyes won’t fall on women during prayer.  Third, Prophet Muhammad PBUH declared that the best rows for men are the first ones, the worst are the rear most ones and the best rows for women are the rear most ones, and the worst are the first ones (Muslim).  He said this to keep men and women separate when they are physically gathered in one place. Fourth, the Prophet of Mercy made men wait until the women had left the mosque to prevent their crowding around the doors.  Later, when the Muslim population increased, Prophet Muhammad PBUH designated a separate entrance for women.  If you visit the Prophet’s Mosqu...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaumu Al-Sabt, 1st day of Jumaadal Aakhir (Saturday 17th February). Islamic Guidelines for Gender Interactions. The Objectives of this topic are 1. To learn the meaning of ikhtilaat. 2. To develop an awareness of the issue of free-mixing between genders. 3. To learn how the Prophet of Mercy controlled mixing between men and women in the mosque and in private places. Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. The Arabic word ikhtilaat means ‘mixing,’ Islamically, it means unrelated men and women mixing, non-mahram men and women being physically at one place.  It results in their meeting, conversing, and looking at each other.  What does Islam say about this? The first point to understand is that not every form of ikhtilaat is forbidden.  Some are permissible and some are forbidden. When Muslim scholars caution against the “free” mixing of men and women, they are not talking about the mere presence of men and women together in the same place.  This in of itself is not prohibited...
THIRD REMINDER. Yaumu al-Jumu'ā, 30th day of Jumaadal Uulaa/Awwal. (Friday, 16th February). LET'S REVIVE SOME SUNNAH OF THE PROPHET sallallaahu Alaihi wasallam. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue from the day's Reminders. Having a pleasant smile always; Ibn Jaz reports: “I have not seen anyone who smiled more than the Messenger of Allah.”[Tirmidhi]. Smiling has been shown to increase the natural antidepressant hormone, serotonin, causing the one who wears a smile to be happier. We underestimate the power of a smile on both ourselves and those around us. This characteristic is highly contagious and plays a massive role in building relationships with those around you. A positive mind and attitude is irreplaceable in the quest to be productive and achieve your goals in life. Smiling is a simple, inexpensive act that helps lift your mood and make you feel more grateful and content since our Prophet was seen frequently doing it. So, let’s follow along this gre...
SECOND REMINDER. Yaumu al-Jumu'ā, 30th day of Jumaadal Uulaa/Awwal. (Friday, 16th February). LET'S REVIVE SOME SUNNAH OF THE PROPHET sallallaahu Alaihi wasallam. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. In the second and third Reminders, we will study some sunnahs of the Prophet that we must aim to revive for, In Shaa Allah, in hopes of increasing our productivity, and seeking the company of the beloved Prophet in the Hereafter. 1. Sleeping and waking up early; Our sleeping pattern plays a great role in our ability to function effectively during the day. The hours after Fajr are among the most blessed of the day. Starting the day off by praying the morning Salaah sets you in the right frame of mind to be the best you can be throughout the day. However, in order to wakeup early hours it is imperative to sleep early as your body requires an adequate amount of rest. One of our mothers Aaishah may Allah be pleased with her said about the Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaiyhi wassallam: “He...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaumu al-Jumu'ā, 30th day of Jumaadal Uulaa/Awwal. (Friday, 16th February). LET'S REVIVE SOME SUNNAH OF THE PROPHET sallallaahu Alaihi wasallam. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Quick question to refresh our minds: who was Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaiyhi wassallam? As Muslims, we believe he was the last and final messenger of the CREATOR ALLAH to mankind. His life is an example for generations after generations until the end of time on how to live in a pure and humble way, with the worship of Allah, the Creator as our purpose and pivotal role. The word “sunnah” is used to describe the life and teachings of the Prophet. The sunnah is an ultimate guidance for leading a productive, successful life. Sometimes we neglect the sunnah, however, and we find ourselves googling “how to be successful/smart/productive”, while the sunnah of the Prophet has provided us with gems on how to do just that. Better yet, the Prophet said: “Whoever revives my Sunnah then he has ...
THIRD REMINDER. Yaumu Al-Khamis, 29th day of Jumaadal Uulaa/Awwal (Thursday 15th February). BEEN RELIGIOUS IS THE BEST OPTION. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem. As stupid as it may sound to some people, religious people enjoy this life much more than non-religious people. Why? those who are religious make their goal the hereafter, so anything that happens in this life, can not bore them because we don't care about this life in the first place, and every second we can do things that will benefit us in the hereafter, so we are actually the ones who live this life to it's fullest. Whereas the ones who run after this world, run after something that doesn't last and is filled with deception. For example, someone who loves chocolate, he gets it, but he isn't satisfied as a few hours later he'll want it again, this keeps going on, until he eventually runs out of money where he won't be able to buy anymore, or he gets too sick/fat to be able to eat anymore, or he simply ...
SECOND REMINDER. Yaumu Al-Khamis, 29th day of Jumaadal Uulaa/Awwal (Thursday 15th February). THIS EARTH IS NOT A PLACE OF HAVING FUN. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem. ISLAM doesn't tell us to stop having 'fun', rather from my little experience it teaches you to redefine 'fun'. Do you have any fun when you are sitting in an exams hall writting your exams? Obviously no. The 'fun' that people in this world are obsessed with barely lasts, and it never satisfies. Most of the process of having fun today is geared towards committing sins. They always want more and more, and they lead themselves further and further into destruction. ALLAH knows this and this is why HE has made restrictions to stop us from the type of fun that will only lead to destruction, in this world and in the hereafter. Once you learn to consider what ALLAH has ordained for you and learn to find pleasure in it, that is the best fun you can have in this world, everything else is deception and i...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaumu Al-Khamis, 29th day of Jumaadal Uulaa/Awwal (Thursday 15th February). THE TRIPLE FILTER TEST. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Our beloved Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “Keep away from ill-thinking/suspicions because ill-thinking is the greatest falsehood.” [Sahih Bukhari].   During the Abbasid period, one of the scholars in Baghdad was greeted by an acquaintance who said, "Do you know what I just heard about your friend?"   Scholar: "Hold on a minute, before telling me anything I'd like you to pass a little test. It's called the Triple Filter Test." The Man: "Triple Filter Test?" Scholar: "That's right, before you talk to me about my friend it might be a good idea to take a moment and filter what you're going to say. That's why I call it the triple filter test. The first filter is Truth. Have you made absolutely sure that what you are about to tell me is true?" The Man: ...
THIRD REMINDER. Al-Raaba'a, 28th day of Jumaadal Uulaa/Awwal (Wednesday 14th of February). TAU’BAH (SEEKING FORGIVENESS) is our topic today in shaa Allah. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's conclude on our topic today; Benefits of Tau’bah: The Qur’an describes the story of Prophet Nuh (A.S), "I said (to them): Ask forgiveness from your Lord; Verily, He is Oft-Forgiving; He will send rain to you in abundance; And give you increase in wealth and children, and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers. " [Quran 71:10-12]. Whoever makes Tau’bah re-establishes his relationship with the Creator of the heavens and earth. Misconceptions when committing a sin: 1. The person thinks that no one is watching. Allah (Subhanahu WaTaala), the all-Knower and all-Hearer says in the Qur’an: “Verily, your Lord is Ever Watchful” [89:14]. 2. The person thinks that no one is near him. Allah (Subhanahu WaTaala), says in the Qur’an: “Have you not seen that Allah knows whats...
SECOND REMINDER. Al-Raaba'a, 28th day of Jumaadal Uulaa/Awwal (Wednesday 14th of February). TAU’BAH (SEEKING FORGIVENESS) is our topic today in shaa Allah. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Let's continue from the first Reminder; ALLAH has created a solution to every sickness even if it may be the poison of a snake. Satan and sins are a major sickness and the cure for it is in tau’bah and istighfar, crying in front of ALLAH with deep regret in the heart. Whenever our tau’bah breaks we should make tau’bah again. Some people despair and think they are sinners and will go to Hellfire. Tau’bah is so powerful that it can take a person from the lowest levels of Hellfire and raise him to the highest levels of Paradise. Allah (Subhanahu WaTaala), the Lord of Mercy, puts mercy in the hearts of every mother in the world by which they love and care for their children. We make mistakes but ALLAH overlooks our faults. Our worship and good deeds are not perfect but ALLAH accepts them ...
FIRST REMINDER. Al-Raaba'a, 28th day of Jumaadal Uulaa/Awwal (Wednesday 14th of February). TAU’BAH (SEEKING FORGIVENESS) is our topic today in shaa Allah. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. It is the nature of mankind to be forgetful and to commit sins. However, ALLAH has given us the ability to rectify ourselves by turning to HIM and begging for HIS forgiveness. Our mountains of evil deeds are nothing before the vast ocean of the mercy of ALLAH. ALLAH has promised to forgive our sins as long as we regret for it and repent from it. Committing sins may make you sorrowful, depressed and deeply disappointed with yourself. But if you return to ALLAH with a few tears and beseech HIM for mercy, HE will certainly forgive you. There is no other door to knock to solve our issues. None can forgive sins except HIM. HE calls us to the abode of peace (Paradise); HE is the Almighty who hides our faults and HE alone can replace our bad deeds with good deeds. ALLAHU AKBAR. The door of re...
THIRD REMINDER. Tuesday. HOW TO BE HAPPY IN LIFE continues. Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Being kind to people in word and deed, and all kinds of doing good. This is one of the means of removing worry, distress and anxiety. By this means Allah wards off worries and distress from righteous and immoral alike, but the believer has the greater share of that, and is distinguished by the fact that his kindness to others stems from sincerity and the hope of reward, so Allah makes it easy for him to be kind to others because of the hope that this will bring good things and ward off bad things, by means of his sincerity and hope of reward. Allah says: “There is no good in most of their secret talks save (in) him who orders Sadaqah (charity in Allaah’s Cause), or Ma‘roof (Islamic Monotheism and all the good and righteous deeds which Allaah has ordained), or conciliation between mankind; and he who does this, seeking the good Pleasure of Allaah, ALLAH shall give him a great reward” [al-Nisa...
