FIRST REMINDER. Yaumul Ahad, 9th day of Jumaadal Aakhir (25th February). IS JESUS CHRIST GOD? Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. First of all, ask any Christian if they've heard or even witnessed a Muslim speaking against Jesus Christ peace be upon him. You will never hear that because we believe in his message and his righteousness. He thought nothing but Islam (Submission to one true God). A debate was organized between a MUSLIM and a CHRISTIAN. M=Muslim and C=Christian. M. Is Jesus God? C. Yes. In the Gospel according to John 1:1: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." Meaning Jesus Christ is God. M. We have agreed that a holy scripture should not contain contradictions. If there are two conflicting verses, then only one can be true or both are wrong, for both cannot be correct. If according to John 1:1 Jesus is God. Then how many Gods are there? Two at least. The verse you quoted says the word was WITH GOD meaning two things. If the word was GOD then was GOD WITH GOD? is this Rusian or Israelian language? This contradicts many passages in the Bible: Deuteronomy 4:39: "... that the Lord HE is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else"; Deuteronomy 6:4: "Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord", (Isaiah 43:10-11): "... that ye may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He: before Me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after Me. I, even I, am the Lord; and beside Me there is no savior"; (Isaiah 44:6): "Thus saith the Lord ... I am the first, and I am the last, and beside Me there is no God"; (Isaiah 45:18): "For thus saith the Lord that created the heavens; God Himself that formed the earth and made it; He hath established it, He created it not in vain, He formed it to be inhabited: I am the Lord; and there is none else." From Isaiah 45:18 we can conclude that God alone was the Creator and that no one else, not even Jesus, participated in the creation. You should also read Deuteronomy 4:35; Exodus 8:10; II Samuel 7:22; I Kings 8:23; I Chronicles 17:20; Psalms 86:8, 89:6 and 113:5; Hosea 13:4; and Zechariah 14:9. To be continued in Shaa ALLAH. ALLAH says: إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ مَن كَانَ مُخْتَالًا فَخُورًا Verily, ALLAH does not love those who are proud and boastful. Surah An-Nisa 4:36.
