DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm al-ithnayn. 25th day of Dhul-Hijjah, 1445AH (Monday, 1st July 2024). WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN QUR'AN AND KITAAB? WE KNOW ALLAH USES BOTH IN HIS MASSAGE FOR MANKIND AND JINN KIND. HOW DO THEY RELATE?. BismilLah.  In Yesterday's reminder, we studied about the wisdom behind ALLAH using Al-kitaab to refer to the Qur'an at some parts of the Quran.  Quran on the other hand comes from the word Qara'a which basically means to read or recite loud. So the Kitaab was revealed for us to recite it in dunya or on earth so basically what we recite is the Quran but the complete book and it's arrangements is what ALLAH (Al-Badi, The Incomparable, The Originator) termed as Al-Kitaab which ALLAH(An-Nur, The Light) wrote down to the 7th Heaven and was under the strong security guarding by special Angels as ALLAH (Al-Ghani, The All Rich, The Independent) says Qiraamim Barara, a surrounded book.  You may have noticed in the Quran that when ALLAH (Dhu-...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawmul Ahad. 24th day of Dhul-Hijjah, 1445AH (Sunday, 30th June 2024). WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN QUR'AN AND KITAAB? WE KNOW ALLAH USES BOTH IN HIS MASSAGE FOR MANKIND AND JINN KIND. HOW DO THEY RELATE?. BismilLah.  This is a bit long but very beneficial knowledge so don't miss reading it.  Understanding the Words Kitaab and Qur'an which are two popular names ALLAH (As-Sabur, The Patient, The Timeless) uses for HIS BOOK.  Kitaab comes from the Arabic word Kataba which means to write and at the time of the Prophet sallallahu alaiyhi wassallam or olden days they write on stones, woods, leafs etc, so they couldn't edit or change what they've written on these olden materials so ALLAH (Ar-Rashid,  ALLAH, The Guide, Infallible Teacher and Knower, using the word Kitaab has a profound reality or uniqueness of the QURAN which means Quran is something written down and no room for editing. We can't edit or change anything in the Qur'an. Ev...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm As-Sabt. 23rd day of Dhul-Hijjah, 1445AH (Saturday, 29th June 2024). THE POWER OF DUA AS WEAPON FOR BELIEVERS. BismilLah.  It’s amazing to see how great Dua really is. In a Hadith narrated by Abu Hurayrah, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “In the court of ALLAH, there is no greater thing than Dua” (Ibn Majah). There are many benefits of making Dua including: 1. The loss of arrogance - For someone that makes constant Dua, arrogance is something that is not among their characteristics because when one beseeches ALLAH, he is affirming his own powerlessness. 2. The doors of mercy are opened, Abdullah bin Umar narrated that the Prophet said, “For whoever the door of Dua opened, for him the doors of mercy are opened.” (Tirmidhi). There are lots of dua to study and use regular such as; "Laailaaha illaa Anta, Astaqhfiruka Wa atuubu ilaik" Meaning There is none worthy of worship except You ALLAH, I seek your forgiveness and I repent to...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawmul Jumuat. 22nd day of Dhul-Hijjah, 1445AH (Friday, 28th June 2024). DOES A WIFE WHO IS EMPLOYED HAVE TO PAY/SHARE THE HOUSEHOLD EXPENSES?. BismilLah.  This is a sensitive question to our modern marriages especially those of us living abroad. I will try to cover this topic base on Qur'an, Sunnah and Consensus of Muslim scholars without been bias towards the husband or wife in shaa ALLAH but please bear with me on the length.  Husband and wife should come to some agreement concerning this issue  and avoid any dispute concerning it. With regard to how that should be done, this depends on a number of things: 1. If the husband stipulated in the marriage contract that expenses are to be shared otherwise he will not let the wife work, then the Muslims are bound by their conditions, as the Prophet (peace and blessings of ALLAH be upon him) said: “The Muslims are bound by their conditions, except for conditions which forbid something that is per...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Al-Khamis. 21st day of Dhul-Hijjah, 1445AH (Thursday, 27th June 2024). VISITING THE PILGRIM TO CONGRATULATE THEM AFTER RETURNING FROM HAJJ Continues. BismilLah.  Organising a get together within the family or community to welcome and celebrate a successful return from Hajj is not a religious innovations.  These actions do not necessarily imply showing off. There is nothing wrong with those who come to congratulate the pilgrim on his safe return using whatever expressions they want, so long as they are permissible according to sharee’ah and indicate what is meant, such as saying “May ALLAH accept your worship” or “May ALLAH accept your Hajj”. May ALLAH accept the Hajj of all the hujjaaj and aid us to be among those who participate next year. Aameen.
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 20th day of Dhul-Hijjah, 1445AH (Wednesday, 26th June 2024). PARTIES AND VISITING THE PILGRIM TO CONGRATULATE THEM AFTER RETURNING FROM HAJJ. BismilLah.  As Muslims it's important to avoid anything that can create divisions and unnecessary arguments that can easily create hatred among the communities and even among relatives.  Let's note that to visit, congratulate and even organise welcome moderate welcome party for the pilgrim is permissible in Islam. Some do that as a custom and tradition and there is nothing wrong with that.  Custom and Tradition which are not an act of worship, cannot be disallowed on the grounds that the Prophet (peace and blessings of ALLAH be upon him) and his companions did not do it, because it is well known that the basic principle with regard to customs and traditions is that they are permissible, and the one who forbids them has to bring evidence.  There is nothing wrong with  honouring th...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Ath-thalaatha. 19th day of Dhul-Hijjah, 1445AH (Tuesday, 25th June 2024). THE DAY OF JUDGEMENT IS A FACT NOT THEORY. BismilLah.  Disbelievers may choose to believe it or not, death is a fact which they witness on daily basis and the day of judgement is also a fact. The Quran states that this worldly life is a preparation for the eternal life after death. But those who deny it become slaves of their passions and desires, making fun of virtuous and God-conscious persons. Such persons realize their folly only at the time of their death and wish to be given a further chance in the world but in vain. Their miserable state at the time of death, and the horror of the Day of Judgment, and the eternal bliss guaranteed to the sincere believers are very clearly and beautifully mentioned in the following verses of the Quran: ALLAH says; [For such is the state of the disbelievers], until, when death comes to one of them, he says, “My Lord, send me back that I...
