DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yawm athalaatha, 8th day of Dhul-Qa'dah 1446AH, Tuesday, 6th May 2025.
ARRANGED and FORCED MARRIAGES in ISLAM. BismilLah.
Basically it is not permissible for the parents, guardian, whether he is the father or anyone else, to marry off anyone under his care without her consent, because the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said: “A previously-married woman has more right concerning herself than her guardian, and the permission of a virgin should be sought (regarding marriage)” Narrated by Imam Muslim, 1421. The Prophet (sallallahu Alaihi wasallam ) said: “No previously-married woman should be married off without being consulted, and no virgin should be married off without asking her permission.” The companions said: “O Messenger of ALLAAH, what is her permission?” He said: “If she remains silent.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 4843.
Parents are encouraged to research into whoever wants to marry their daughter and support their daughter without objecting to their daughters choice with no genuine reasons. Daughters must also consider their parents' recommendations if the brother is a good practising Muslim so that the marriage can be a blessed one. NEVER ignore your parents because of a brother. Such marriage will never last. Do all you can to get their support or else ignore the brother, not your parents, and this is vice versa.
We seek help from ALLAH Azzawajal to keep protecting our marriages from any satanic Influences. Aameen.
