 DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yawmul Jumuat, 7th day of Ramadhan 1446AH, Friday,  7th March 2025.

What level of intimacy are we allowed between spouses? Are we allowed to flirt, gently touch, kiss, or hug our spouses while fasting Bismillah.


In optional fasts, all the above-mentioned acts are permitted so long as one does not engage in sexual intercourse. In Ramadhan, one is allowed to do these ONLY IF one can control himself or herself. Breaking a Ramadhan fast through sexual desire or any act is a serious offence; it entails a severe form of kaffarah (expiation), which involves fasting two months consecutively; if one cannot do this, one must feed sixty poor persons for a single day of fast.

Therefore, no conscientious Muslim should contemplate such activities while fasting if there is a risk of overstepping the boundaries. If there is no such fear, then light touching, or kissing, etc., when not accompanied by sexual desire, is permissible. 


Each person knows his own weaknesses better.  The best is to stay away from any such act as we cannot risk breaking our fasting and blaming Sheitan because Sheitan is in prison, so no excuse. Please remember today is Friday. Please remember to pray for my father who died last November. May ALLAH Azzawajal forgive him and all our dead relatives. Aameen. 


May ALLAH Azzawajal keeps guiding us through our little efforts to act only for HIS sake. Aameen.
