THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawmul Ahad. 4th day of Jumaadal Aakhir, 1445AH (Sunday, 17th December, 2023).  ACCEPTING GIFTS FROM NON MUSLIMS ON THEIR FESTIVALS or CELEBRATIONS. BismilLah.

Dealing with non-Muslims is very sensitive. We Muslims need to be balanced in our attitude toward them. On one hand, we Muslims have to be just and kind toward non-Muslims in order to reconcile and soften their hearts towards Islam. On the other hand, we may not compromise the basics of their religion or get involved with them in whatever is related to their rituals or religious practices, especially so-called Xmas which involves shirk.

Accepting gifts from non-Muslims was permitted by Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). But if the gift is related directly to the rituals they have on that day and involves haraam food like pork or animals killed in the name of Issah alaihisalaam as some does, then you humbly decline it. If the gift, however, is not related to their rituals, you may accept it. This means you can accept it if halaal items and can decline it by humbly telling the person sorry I'm a Muslim and I don't partake in this or that etc. If a Muslim slaughter any halaal animal for them in the name of ALLAH then yes you can eat from it.

We know from authentic source  that Imam Ali R.A, accepted the gift of some non-Muslims on the day of Nayrouz but Aa'ishah R.A, was also asked about the Zoroastrians' giving gifts to Muslims on their feast and she said, "Whatever they slaughtered for their day, do not eat it, but eat from their trees" like apples, pawpaw, grapes etc (reported by Ibn Abi Shaybah).

You must keep in mind that whenever you receive gifts from or give gifts to them, you are doing this to reconcile their hearts. It should be clear both in your heart and to them that you do not celebrate their feasts, particularly one in which they claim that God or part of HIM was born Xmas, Exalted HE is above what they ascribe to HIM. If they wish you Merry Christmas, happy Easter etc, humbly respond, fortunately I don't celebrate what Jesus Christ Peace be upon him never taught and please never wish any of them be it your boss or your mother.

May ALLAH keep guiding us all and guide the misguided to the teachings of Islam. Aameen.

THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Al-Khamis. 25th day of RAJAB, 1444AH (Thursday 16th February. 2023). TOLERANCE WITH PEOPLE IN ISLAM. BismilLaah.  Tolerance (samah) is an important trait of a Muslim’s good character. We Muslims should be kind and gentle, patient with people, forgiving of bad character, and lenient whenever possible. The Prophet Mohammed Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam commanded us to avoid causing unnecessary difficulty and hardship in people’s lives and to inspire people with graceful speech. Make things easy and do not make things difficult. Give glad tidings and do not repel people. Cooperate with each other and do not become divided. Sahih Bukhari 2873, Grade: Muttafaqun Alayhi. This command is closely related to the need of a Muslim to control his or her anger. Unrestrained anger leads to numerous sins and bad deeds, so Muslims must temper their anger with patience, tolerance, and the ability to hold back harmful words. Teasing, mockery, insults to others et...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yawmul ahad, 17th day of Sha’abaan 1446AH, Sunday. 16th Feb. 2025). THE TRUE MEANINGS OF THE WORD DEEN continues. BismilLah.  ALLAH (Azza Wa Jal, The MIGHTY and the MAJESTIC) has sent HIS Messenger with the true deen for the purpose of ending the sovereignty of all false gods and granting us immense freedom so that we live as servants of none but the LORD of the UNIVERSE, no matter how much the idolaters and polytheists may dislike or oppose such a course. Thus, these three meanings of deen stand out: To acknowledge ALLAH as the ONLY LORD, MASTER and RULER. To obey and serve ONLY HIM. To be accountable to HIM, to fear only HIS punishment and to covet only HIS reward. Deen also includes obedience to ALLAH'S Messengers. The commandments of ALLAH Azzawajal have been given to human beings through HIS books and HIS Messengers. ALLAH Azzawajal says; Children of Aadam! If there should come to you Messengers from among you, who convey MY revelations unto you, ...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaum ar-ba'a. 7th day of Jumaadal Aakhir.. (Wednesday 20th January 2021). Who are Believers. BismilLah.  Lets check in  Suurah Al-Mu'minun (The Believers). ALLAH says; 1. Successful indeed are the believers.  2. Those who offer their Salaat (prayers) with all solemnity and full submissiveness. 3. And those who turn away from Al-Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk, falsehood, and all that ALLAH has forbidden).  4. Those who pay the Zakat . 5. Those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts) 6. Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, for then, they are free from blame; etc ALLAH, the Most High, says “…for verily ALLAH is with those who believe.”[Al Qur’an 8:19] When ALLAH says that “HE is with the believers”, it means that the believers don’t need anyone else. Rasullulah(sallallahu alaihi wasallam) has said “Be mindful of ALLAH, and ALLAH will protect you. Be m...
