Nawaafil prayers (superogatory prayers)

ALLAH says in Hadith Qudsi:

….and My slave keeps on coming closer to ME through performing Nawaafil (voluntary deeds) until I love them, so I become their sense of hearing with which they hears, and their sense of sight with which they sees, and their hands with which they grips, and their leg with which they walks; and if they asks ME, I will give them, and if they asks MY Protection, I will protect them..." [Bukhari]. 


Our beloved Messenger of ALLAH sallallahu alaihi wasallam recommended and encouraged us to perform at least 12 sunnah salaat and as many nawaafil salaat regularly which includes 2 rakaats Sunnah before Fajir. 4 before Zuhur, 2 after Zuhur, 2 after Magrib, 2 after Ishai popularly known as Shafai. In addition to these we should not ignore Witir, Tahajjud and the recommended fastings each week and month. May ALLAH keeps guiding us all and aid us to practice what we learn. Aameen.
