THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaum As-Sabt. 15th day of RabeeulAwwal, 1445AH (Saturday, 30th September, 2023). HOW TO GET CLOSER TO ALLAH CONTINUES BismilLah.  Nawaafil prayers (superogatory prayers) ALLAH says in Hadith Qudsi: ….and My slave keeps on coming closer to ME through performing Nawaafil (voluntary deeds) until I love them, so I become their sense of hearing with which they hears, and their sense of sight with which they sees, and their hands with which they grips, and their leg with which they walks; and if they asks ME, I will give them, and if they asks MY Protection, I will protect them..." [Bukhari].  Our beloved Messenger of ALLAH sallallahu alaihi wasallam recommended and encouraged us to perform at least 12 sunnah salaat and as many nawaafil salaat regularly which includes 2 rakaats Sunnah before Fajir. 4 before Zuhur, 2 after Zuhur, 2 after Magrib, 2 after Ishai popularly known as Shafai. In addition to these we should not ignore Witir, Tahajjud and th...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaumul Jumuat. 14th day of RabeeulAwwal, 1445AH (Friday, 29th September, 2023). HOW TO GET CLOSER TO ALLAH CONTINUES FROM YESTERDAY'S REMINDER. BismilLah. Zikr (remembrance of ALLAH) and glorification of ALLAH  "…Verily, in the remembrance of ALLAH do hearts find rest or peace." (13:28) "Remembrance of ALLAH indeed is the greatest virtue.(29:46). "O ye who believe, remember ALLAH much. And glorify HIM morning and evening (33:42-43). Remembrance of ALLAH is the foundation of all good deeds. Whoever succeeds in it is blessed with the close friendship of ALLAH.  The Prophet, peace be upon him, would often tell his Companions to commit to more zikir.  The head of all zikir is Recitation of Quran, then others like SUBHAANALLAH. WALHAMDULILLAH. WALAAILAAHA ILLAA ALLAH. ALLAHU AKBAR ETC. Please remember today is Friday. May ALLAH aid us through our effort to get closer to HIM. Aameen.
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaum Al-Khamis. 13th day of RabeeulAwwal, 1445AH (Thursday, 28th September, 2023). HOW TO GET CLOSER TO ALLAH BismilLah.  As Muslims, our no. 1 priority must be to please ALLAH by actions. The most important act of worship to get us close to ALLAH or to please HIM is by fulfilling obligatory duties and abstaining from prohibited matters. The Prophet (May ALLAH bless him and grant him peace) has guided us. And ALLAH, the Glorified and the Exalted, has guided us how to draw near to HIM. As HE said According to Hadith Qudsi: “Whoever draws near to ME among those drawn near by fulfilling what I have made obligatory on them. We cannot draw near to ALLAH except by fulfilling the obligatory duties which ALLAH has made obligatory on us; (that is) the obligatory duties from the obligatory duties (Faraid) such as Prayers, Zakat (obligatory charity), Hajj, Fasting and being good to Parents and all these obligatory duties on us draw us near to ALLAH, the Glor...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 12th day of RabeeulAwwal, 1445AH (Wednesday, 27th September, 2023). Our Topic today is on Voluntary Fasting. Bismillah.  One of the most important acts of worship is fasting which is excellent for us spiritually and its healthy for us too. Our beloved Messenger of ALLAH recommended us to fast on Mondays and Thursdays and also the 3 white days of each Islamic calendar which start tomorrow.  “Beed”  is the plural of “Abyad” which means white. Three days of 13, 14 and 15 of lunar month are called “Al-Ayyam-ul-Beed” for the reason that their nights are bright because of the moonlight. The moon begins to diminish gradually after these days. Abu Dharr (radiAllaahu ‘anhu) said: The Messenger of Allaah (sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said to me:“If you fast any part of the month, then fast the thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth.” (Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, (761); al-Nasaa’i, (2424); classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Targ...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Ath-thalaatha. 11th day of RabeeulAwwal, 1445AH (Tuesday, 26th September, 2023). FOOTBALL BETTING IS FORBIDDEN IN ISLAM and it's Haraam. BismilLaah. Please note that ALL forms of gambling or making money without any work or through trade of a commodity or service is haraam and a source of evil in your life. It's important to note as a Muslim that, you can never find peace in life and can never succeed in life if you choose to disobey ALLAH (Al-Qayyuum, The Maintainer of Life) in anything you do. Our sustenance is with ALLAH(The King of Kings), Satan also has his offer of sustenance so it's a choice for us to strive the halaal way so that ALLAH(ArRahmaan, The Most Gracious) can grant us base on our little efforts but if you chose the satanic way, you've really damage your relationship with ALLAH bcs it means, you are saying ALLAH is not sufficient for you so you've chosen the Satan's path to fake success. Astaqfirullah. All form...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawmul ahad. 9th day of RabeeulAwwal, 1445AH (Sunday, 24th September, 2023). RELIGIOUS ARGUMENTS CREATES HATRED AND DIVISION. Bismillah Alhamdulillah for HIS guidance in making us Muslims but lets note that it comes with responsibilities and Sacrifices of our desires. Lets try to do daawah to non Muslims and Naseehah to fellow Muslims regularly but we must avoid disputes because The Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “The believer does not dispute and I will not intercede on the Day of Resurrection for those who dispute, so leave arguing for its lack of good.” [Authenticated by imam Tabaraani]. ALLAH, the Most High, says in this regard, “None dispute in the Aayaat (signs, proofs) of ALLAH except those who disbelieve.” [Surah Ghaafir, Ayat 4]. A man came to al-Hasan al-Basri and said, “I wish to debate with you about the Religion.” Al-Hasan replied, “I know my Religion. If you have lost your Religion go out and look for it!” Lets adopt the appr...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm As-Sabt. 8th day of RabeeulAwwal, 1445AH (Saturday, 23rd September, 2023). DO NOT KILL OR HARM YOURSELF FOR ANY REASON. BismilLah.  Abu Huraira reported: We witnessed the battle of Khaibar along with the Messenger of ALLAH, peace and blessings be upon him. He said concerning a man who claimed to be a Muslim, “He is among the people of Hellfire.” When the battle began, the man fought so fiercely that he was inflicted with many wounds.  I said, “O Messenger of ALLAH, was it this man you said is among the people of the Hellfire? Indeed, he fought so bravely and was killed.” The Prophet said, “He will go to Hellfire.” Some of the people began to have doubts as someone said he was alive although severely wounded. When the night came, the man lost his patience and he killed himself. The Prophet was informed and he said, “ALLAHU AKBAR! I bear witness that I am the servant of ALLAH and HIS Messenger.” He ordered Bilal to make an announcement amo...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Al-Khamis. 6th day of RabeeulAwwal, 1445AH (Thursday, 21st September, 2023). TV MAY BE FITNAH IN OUR LIFE. BismilLah.  The most dangerous instrument that is being used today to prepare mankind for the coming of Dajjal, is the television. The television networks announce their viewer ship for all major events to be in the billions, which indicates the ability to influence so many people all at once. This shows the ability of disseminating information (true or false) to billions of people. We cannot allow ourselves as Muslims to be influenced or corrupted by television if we wish to be able recognize the fitna and fasaad of the Dajjal. What should we, as Muslims, be doing? We should be spending our precious time in an environment that promotes the consciousness of ALLAH (S.W.T) and fulfilling our object of our existence on earth. As ALLAH mentions in Quran: I created the jinn and humankind only that they might worship ME. [adh-Dhariyat 51:56]. ...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 5th day of RabeeulAwwal, 1445AH (Wednesday, 20th September, 2023). GOOD DEEDS THAT WILL LEAD YOU TO ALLAH'S PLEASURE. BismilLah.  ALLAH'S Pleasure is the ultimate goal of our worship of ALLAH. It is the Pleasure of ALLAH that will lead us to HIS Mercy and eventually to HIS Paradise. And speaking about ALLAH'S Pleasure, there is an effortless way to gain it. There are many ways to please ALLAH but let's consider this simple one by our beloved Prophet Muhammed sallallahu alaihi wasallam who said: "Verily, ALLAH is pleased with a servant who praises HIM when he eats or praises HIM when he drinks." (Sahih Muslim 2734). It is simple as thanking HIM every time you eat or drink. SubhanaAllah, there is a big reward to earn even in something so casual like eating and drinking. And what is greater than ALLAH'S Pleasure? Nothing, SubhanaAllah. May ALLAH keeps guiding us all and protects us from any satanic influences. Aa...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Ath-thalaatha. 4th day of RabeeulAwwal, 1445AH (Tuesday, 19th September, 2023). SOME WAYS SATAN USES TO DAMAGE OUR GOOD DEEDS. BismilLah.  Satan has so many ways to influence us to sin against our soul. Among them is to Instills feelings of pride and Ar-Riya (showing off). When one does good deeds, Satan is quick to instill feelings of pride followed by the desire to show off one’s virtues or achievements (also referred to as Ar-Riya). He diverts his victim’s mind from vying for the deed’s rewards from ALLAH to expecting praise to flow from people instead.  As Muslims, let’s not forget that the payoff that we desire for our deeds reflects the nature of the intention of doing those deeds. Our beloved Messenger of ALLAH (Peace be upon him) says: "The most fearful thing I fear for you is Minor Shirk". He (Peace be upon him) was asked about it, and he said: "It is (Ar-Riya’) showing off". Then, he (Peace be upon him) explained it sayin...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Al-ithnayn. 3rd day of RabeeulAwwal, 1445AH (Monday, 18th September, 2023). BRIGHTNESS OF THE SOUL. BismilLah.  The Messenger of ALLAH (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “The soul of a believer is bright and there is a bright lamp in it. The soul of an unbeliever is black and blind. The polish of the soul is the obedience of ALLAH. Sins are impurities on the soul. He who proceeds towards sins makes his or her soul dark. The successful in life are those who keep their souls bright, well-lit and polished. Such will be granted entrance to Jannah. [Quran: Surah Ash-Shuara, Ayat 89-90]. The recipe for keeping souls bright and polished are: 1. More Zikir (Quran Recitation and supplication to ALLAH with HIS beautiful attributes). 2. The obedience of ALLAH / The avoidance of sins with sincerity.  3. Keeping desires in check. Very Important. If you fancy anyone else in addition to your wife then marry her instead of adultrating. Etc. When you cr...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawmul Ahad. 2nd day of RabeeulAwwal, 1445AH (Sunday, 17th September, 2023).  WATCHING/SHARING PORNOGRAPHY AS A MUSLIM IS A DISASTER FOR OUR EEMAAN (FAITH). BismilLah. On every Friday we hear the Imam conclude his khutbah(friday sermon) by reciting the following verse of the Quran: "InnaAllah Yamuru bil adel, wal ehsane, wa itae zil qurba; wa yanha anilfuhshae, wal munkari walbaghi; yaizukhum la'allakum yatazakkaroon. "Surely ALLAH enjoins justice, kindness and the doing of good, to kith and kin; and He forbids all that is shameful, indecent, evil, rebellious and oppressive." Quran 16:90. Pornography and the culture of pornography has all the three elements which ALLAH has prohibited in the above verse of the Quran: Fahsha; Munkar, baghi. Here is a bit of terminology: Fahsha is obscenity, vulgarity, indecency, shamelessness and something that is dirty, filthy, foul and fornication. All scholars agree pornography is included in the term F...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm As-Sabt. 1st day of RabeeulAwwal, 1445AH (Saturday, 16th September, 2023). HOW TO EXHIBIT TRUE/REAL PATIENCE. BismilLah.  There is the saying by the wise that; A fish can say to the sea, you can never see my tears, because I am in the water. The sea can respond  back that, "But I can feel your tears, because you are within my heart." This is exactly how we are; No one will feel us except those who are truly close to our hearts and no one is closer to our hearts than ALLAH (The Most MERCIFUL) and HIS Messenger sallallahu alaihi. Are you facing any difficulties that you feel ALLAH has neglected you or not listening to you? Check out this true story. Arwah bin al-Zubayr's leg was cut off because of a disease he suffered, on the same day the dearest of his seven sons died. The dearest son to his heart died after a horse kick killed him. Arwah said: "Allahumma lakal hamd, Inna lilLahi wa inna Ilaihi raaji'un."[Ya ALLAH! All than...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Al-Khamis. 29th day of Swafar, 1445AH (Thursday, 14th September, 2023). HOW ARE YOU SAVING FOR YOUR NEXT LIFE?. BismilLah. AlhamdulilLah for blessing us to be among those who are alive this morning and I hope majority are fasting on this blessed day when our weekly activities are recorded with ALLAH. Back to our topic; The Mighty ALLAH and HIS Messenger Prophet Muhammed sallallahu alaihi wasallam has encouraged/recommended us to be wise and invest for our hereafter instead of chasing this temporary place of abode for our body. It's so scary that we don't know when we will die but yet we keep on spending time accomulating wealth on wealth instead of saving for our real future eternal home, the hereafter.  ALLAH says to the nearest meaning; “O you who believe! Spend of that with which I, ALLAH have provided for you, before a Day comes when there will be no bargaining, nor friendship, nor intercession. And it is the disbelievers who are the Zaal...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 28th day of Swafar, 1445AH (Wednesday, 13th September, 2023). ALLAH IS SUFFICIENT FOR HIS SERVANTS. BismilLah.  Narrated Ibn 'Abbas [radhi-yAllahu 'anhu]: Once I was behind the Prophet (Sallallaahu alaihi wasallam) and he said: "O boy, I will teach you a few words: a) Be loyal and obedient to ALLAH [worship HIM (Alone)], remember HIM always, obey HIS Orders. HE will save you from every evil and will take care of you in all the spheres of life. b) Be loyal and obedient to ALLAH, you will find HIM near (in front of you), i.e. HE will respond to your requests. c) If you ask, ask ALLAH. d) If you seek help, seek help from ALLAH. e) Know that if all the people get together in order to benefit you with something, they will not be able to benefit you in anything except what ALLAH has decreed for you. And if they all get together in order to harm you with something, they will not be able to harm you in anything except what ALLAH has de...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Ath-thalaatha. 27th day of Swafar, 1445AH (Tuesday, 12th September, 2023). LET'S HEAR WHAT ALLAH SAYS IN QUR'AN 22:78. BismilLah. And strive for ALLAH with the striving due to HIM. HE has chosen you and has not placed upon you in the religion any difficulty. [It is] the religion of your father, Abraham. HE [i.e., ALLAH] named you "Muslims" before [in former scriptures] and in this [revelation] that the Messenger may be a witness over you and you may be witnesses over the people. So ESTABLISH PRAYER and GIVE ZAKAH...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm al-ithnayn. 26th day of Swafar, 1445AH (Monday, 11th September, 2023). LET'S STRIVE TO BE GOOD TO OTHERS. BismilLah. Imam Abu Huraira may ALLAH be pleased with him reported: The Messenger of ALLAH, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Charity is due upon every joint of the people for every day upon which the sun rises. Being just between two people is charity. Helping a man with his animal and lifting his luggage upon it is charity. A kind word is charity. Every step that you take towards the mosque is charity, and removing harmful things from the road is charity. Sahih Bukhari 2827, Grade: Muttafaqun Alayhi. One of Our mother's of believers Aaisha may ALLAH be pleased with her reported: The Messenger of ALLAH, peace and blessings be upon him, heard the loud voices of two men in a dispute at a door. One was asking the other to lessen his debt and was pleading with him to show leniency, and the other said, “By ALLAH, I will not do that!” The ...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. YawmulAhad. 25th day of Swafar, 1445AH (Sunday, 10th September, 2023). OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH OUR FAMILIES. BismilLah. Regardless of how bad our relatives are especially our parents, children etc. We must not break ties with them. ALLAH forbids us to break family ties. No matter how hard it might seem to keep familial relationships going, it's very important that we try our best to maintain them. Shaitan loves it when we break our ties so let's not please the shaitan. Watch your words. Just as our bodies are accountable on us, our words are also accountable. We have to protect our speech as best as we can. Most of the hard/ difficult life today in every Muslim community today is due to the curses by our own parents especially our mothers due to lack of Islamic knowledge and fear of ALLAH. With little issues, we only utter curses on our children.  No backbiting for it is like eating the flesh of a dead brother! No creating fitnah or tarnishing anoth...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm As-Sabt . 24th day of Swafar, 1445AH (Saturday, 9th September, 2023). GATES OF GOODNESS. BismilLah.  Narrated by Mu'adh bin Jabal [radhi-yAllahu 'anhu]: The Prophet (ALLAH's Messenger ) said to him: "May I show you the gates of goodness? (They are): (1) Fasting act as a screen from Hell. (2) As-Sadaqah (deeds of charity in ALLAH'S Cause) extinguishes (removes) the sins as the water extinguishes the fire. (3) Standing in Salat (performing of prayers) by a person during the middle (or the last third) part of a night." Then Prophet (ﷺ) recited: "Their sides forsake their beds." (V.32:16) (Abu Dawud and At-Tirmidhi) (Tafsir Al-Qurtubi), Paradise becomes their final abode.  May ALLAH keep guiding us all and aid us to implement what we learn. Aameen.
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawmul Jumuat. 23rd day of Swafar, 1445AH (Friday, 8th September, 2023). THE BEST FORM OF INVESTMENT IN ISLAM. BismilLah. ALLAH says; “O you who believe! Spend of the good things which you have (legally) earned, and of that which I have produced from the earth for you, and do not aim at that which is bad to spend from it, (though) you would not accept it save if you close your eyes and tolerate therein. And know that ALLAH is Rich (Free of all needs), and Worthy of all praise”[al-Baqarah 2:267]. Allahu Akbar. Qur'an contains amazing information for mankind indeed. Let's now hear what HIS Messenger Muhammed sallallahu alaihi wasallam also said about charity or sadaqah; It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah (may ALLAH be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of ALLAH (peace and blessings of ALLAH be upon him) said: “Whoever gives charity equal to a date from good (halal) earnings (for ALLAH does not accept anything but that which is good), ALLAH will tak...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Al-Khamis. 22nd day of Swafar, 1445AH (Thursday, 7th September, 2023). NOT CLEANING ONESELF PROPERLY AFTER EASING OURSELVES. BismilLah.  Our beloved Messenger of ALLAH to Mankind Muhammad (peace and blessings of ALLAH be upon him) said that "most of the punishment of the grave will be because of urine." (Reported by Imaam Ahmad, 2/326; see also Saheeh al-Jaami', 1213). Not cleaning oneself properly after urinating also includes undue haste in completing the action, or deliberately urinating in a position or place where the urine can come back on oneself, or failing to clean oneself afterwards, or not cleaning oneself properly. Modern imitation of the kuffaar has reached such an extent that some rest rooms for men contain wall-mounted urinals which are open to view, so a person who uses them is urinating in full view of anyone who comes and goes with no shame, in the midst of impurity. Thus he combines two abhorrent and forbidden acts in ...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 21st day of Swafar, 1445AH Wednesday, 6th September, 2023). AQEEQAH, THE SUNNAH WAY. BismilLah.  Aqeeqah is a confirmed Sunnah. If the guardian of the child is capable of slaughtering two sheep for a baby boy and one sheep for a female child, he should do so. The Prophet said: “A baby is being pledged for his ‘Aqeeqah, sacrifice is made for him on the seventh day, his head is shaved, and a name is given to him.” If one cannot slaughter on the seventh day, one may slaughter on the fourteenth day, or on the twenty-first day. If one is not capable of doing so, then one may slaughter any time before the puberty of the child. After puberty, the person should slaughter for himself/herself. The recommended acts related to the newborn baby are as follows: First, one proclaims the Azan (prayer call) in the baby's ear as narrated by Al-Tirmizi and Abu Daawud that Prophet Muhammad (Blessings and peace of ALLAH be upon him) proclaimed the Azan in...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Al-ithnayn. 19th day of Swafar, 1445AH (Monday, 4th September, 2023). SOME BASIC ADVICE FOR US ALL. BismilLah.  Let's strive to live a life full of appreciation to ALLAH regardless of our situation seeking ALLAH to make it better. If things get difficult, the Qur'an should be our companion. If loneliness starts to hurt, send your supplications through the heavens especially by reciting durood regularly (salaat Alan Nabi). When people ask how you are, always praise ALLAH by saying Alhamdulillah and smile even if things seems rough. When you see an ant or any little creations on the road, avoid stepping on it or hitting it with your car, seeking therein the Face of ALLAH; for perhaps HE will have mercy on you as you had mercy on it Remember that the ant glorifies ALLAH, so don't cut of it's glorifying by killing it. When you pass by a bird drinking from a pond, don't go so near so as to scare it, and seek therein the Face of ALLAH; p...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawmul Ahad. 18th day of Swafar, 1445AH (Sunday, 3rd September, 2023). SOME WAYS TO SEEK ALLAH'S SUPPORT IN WORSHIP. BismilLah. Under any situation, ALLAH (SWT) remembrance (Zikir) gives peace and comfort. ALLAH (SWT) addresses the Prophet (sallalLaahuAlaihi Wasallam) as such in Aayah 97-99 of Surah Al-Hijr saying “ALLAH is well aware that your heart is weighed down by what they (mushrikeen and kaafireen) but to find peace in your heart agaist what they say about you, Celebrate the glory of your Lord and be among those who bow down to HIM: Worship your Lord until what is certain comes to you.” Our beloved Prophet  (sallalLaahuAlaihi Wasallam) was advised by ALLAH to commit to zikir whenever he is worried or going through any difficulties. The Prophet then said and encouraged us all to regularly say  “ALLAH humma a-innee alaa zikrika wa shukrika wa husni-ibaadatik”. Meaning "Yaa ALLAH help me in your remembrance, and in thanking You, and in th...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm As-Sabt. 17th day of Swafar, 1445AH (Saturday, 2nd September, 2023). ISLAM IS THE ONLY RELIGION OF GOD ALMIGHTY, ALLAH. BismilLah.  I usually remind ourselves that Islam is a way of life set by ALLAH and HIS  Messengers and the final Messenger to mankind without any doubt is Mohammed sallalLaahu Alaihi Wasallam so who ever claims to worship ALLAH or GOD in English must follow the ways of the final Messenger Muhammad sallalLaahu Alaihi Wasallam. ALLAH says in HIS final gospel to mankind that There is ONLY ONE religion of ALLAH in the heavens and the earth and that is the religion of Islam (Quran 3:19). And HE says again: I am pleased with Islam as a religion for you (Qur'an 5:3). ALLAH says again;  “And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers” [Qur'an 3:85] ALLAH commanded the Prophet to say: “O mankind! Verily, I am SENT to YOU ALL as the Messenge...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawmul Jumuat. 16th day of Swafar, 1445AH (Friday, 1st September, 2023).  CORRECT OTHERS by “ADVISING ” and not “CONDEMNING”. BismilLah.  People always seek advice to gain from others’ knowledge and experience.  Providing advice by enjoining the good and forbidding the evil is an integral part of Islamic teachings. ALLAH says in the Quran, “You are the best of peoples ever raised up for mankind; you enjoin Al-Ma’ruf (the good that Islam has ordained) and forbid Al-Munkar (the bad that Islam has forbidden)” (Quran 3:110).  HE also tells us that within families, we should actively advise each other to do what’s right and to stay away from the wrong. ALLAH says, “O you who believe! Ward off yourselves and your families against a Fire (Hell)…” (Quran 66:6). As promising as the concept may seem, advising people does require a willingness and sincerity on the part of all involved. Advising takes even a different form when it is done to co...
