THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS.  Yaumul Ahad. 24th day of Sha’abaan. (Sunday, 27th of March, 2022). EXPIATION FOR NOT FULFILLING A VOW OR AN OAT TO ALLAH. BismilLah.

What is meant by an oath or vow according to our scholars based on the Qur'an and Sunnah is by committing oneself before ALLAH, may HE be exalted, to do OR not to do something. A vow is a type of oath, and every vow is an oath. So when the one who makes a vow says: I owe it to ALLAH to do such and such, it is the same as his saying: I swear by ALLAH that I will do or not do such and such. What is implied by these two phrases is the committing oneself before ALLAH to do or not to do that action".

If a person says, “I promise ALLAH that I will perform Hajj this year,” then this is a vow, a promise and an oath (yameen) and if he does not fulfil it then he must offer the expiation for breaking an oath (kafaarat yameen).

Whoever repeats an oath before offering expiation, the correct view is that if this oath had to do with one action, only one expiation is to be offered; otherwise he must offer two if two different oats etc.

The expiation for breaking an oath is to set free a slave, or to feed or clothe ten poor persons. Whoever cannot do any of those things should fast for three days, because ALLAH says:

“ALLAH will not punish you for what is unintentional in your oaths, but He will punish you for your deliberate oaths; for its expiation (a deliberate oath) feed ten Masaakeen (poor persons), on a scale of the average of that with which you feed your own families, or clothe them or manumit a slave. But whosoever cannot afford (that), then he should fast for three days. That is the expiation for the oaths when you have sworn. And protect your oaths (i.e. do not swear much). Thus ALLAH makes clear to you HIS Ayaat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) that you may be grateful” [al-Maa'idah 5:89]. May ALLAH keeps guiding us all and protect us from any satanic influences. Aameen.

THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Al-Khamis. 25th day of RAJAB, 1444AH (Thursday 16th February. 2023). TOLERANCE WITH PEOPLE IN ISLAM. BismilLaah.  Tolerance (samah) is an important trait of a Muslim’s good character. We Muslims should be kind and gentle, patient with people, forgiving of bad character, and lenient whenever possible. The Prophet Mohammed Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam commanded us to avoid causing unnecessary difficulty and hardship in people’s lives and to inspire people with graceful speech. Make things easy and do not make things difficult. Give glad tidings and do not repel people. Cooperate with each other and do not become divided. Sahih Bukhari 2873, Grade: Muttafaqun Alayhi. This command is closely related to the need of a Muslim to control his or her anger. Unrestrained anger leads to numerous sins and bad deeds, so Muslims must temper their anger with patience, tolerance, and the ability to hold back harmful words. Teasing, mockery, insults to others et...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yawm Al-khamis, 30th day of Rajab 1446AH, Thursday. 30th Jan. 2025). MEANING OF ALLAH CREATING HUMANS IN HIS OWN IMAGE.  BismilLah. Unfortunately, other faiths have made a serious mistake in trying to compare The CREATOR, ALLAH Azzawajal with HIS Creation human beings in physical appearance, and that's blasphemy and serious error  Sheikh AbuAmina, in one of his articles, explained that, in Islam, we believe that all people have been created in the “image” of ALLAH Azzawajal. But what does this mean? ALLAH Azzawajal is the creator of everything, including all people. That people are in the “image of ALLAH Azzawajal” means they are in the form that HE, ALLAH Azzawajal has chosen and honored for them, not that they resemble ALLAH Azzawajal in physical appearance or share in the Divine Essence. Just as we say a righteous person is the “servant of ALLAH” and a mosque is the “house of ALLAH” as a way to honor them, likewise is it an added dignity for pe...

BismilLah.  Assalaamu Alaikum WarahmatulLah to you all. AlhamdulilLah for granting us the opportunity to be part of this blessed day. Today mark the day when ALLAH granted Musah alayhi salaam victory over Fir'awn. Today mark the day ALLAH humiliated HIS worse enemy on earth Fir'awn for his disbelief in ALLAH and claiming he was ALLAH. We are all fasting on this blessed day seeking forgiveness from ALLAH for our sins from last year till date as the Prophet sallalLaahu Alaihi Wasallam recommended.  Those who are unable to fast can still do much to earn lots of rewards especially our sisters and daughters in their monthly cycle. You can recite lots of azkaar and give sadaqah with your intention to seek forgiveness from ALLAH. Please remember today is Friday lets strive to go to Masjid early and also remember to send salutations to our...
