THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS.  Yaum al-ithnayn. 27th day of Rajab. (Monday, 28th February 2022). EASY GOOD DEEDS WITH GREAT REWARDS. BismilLah.  ALLAH has made many good deeds for us, acts of worship and kindness towards others, which are easy to do and are greatly rewarded. These deeds might appear small in the sight of people but they can become as heavy as mountains on the scale of good on the Day of Resurrection. We should become familiar with them so we can practice them daily and thereby earn their blessings. Perhaps the easiest deeds for us to do are to fill our days with supplications, praising and glorifying ALLAH morning and night in particular. Every supplication will be counted among our good deeds and will erase our sins. Of course, we must not merely say them outwardly as we must also be sincere and act upon the meaning of these supplications. Sheikh Abu Huraira may ALLAH be pleased with him reported: The Messenger of ALLAH, peace and blessings be upon him, ...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS.  Yaumul Ahad. 26th day of Rajab. (Sunday, 27th February 2022). A LIFE OF SINS? BismilLah.  Human beings are difficult sometimes isn't it? If you had an argument with someone, and then you try to talk to them again, you’ll feel like things are not the same anymore. They might not meet you with the same open arms and complete acceptance like before. And if you had several problems or downfalls with the same person, then that person might black-list you and make sure not to accept you back in his/her life because of your shortcomings.  This is how we treat each other most times. But this is NOT how ALLAH treats us! ALLAH’s Name is ArRahman ArRaheem (The Continuously Merciful, The Especially Merciful), and HE is indeed uniquely and exceedingly Merciful than any of HIS creation. If you want to turn to ALLAH in repentance and you are embarrassed or ashamed of your sins and mistakes, ALLAH will never meet you with rejection or lack of trust. On...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS.  Yaum As-Sabt. 25th day of Rajab. (Saturday, 26th February 2022). DO NOT CURSE ANYONE ESPECIALLY CHILDREN. BismilLah.  Our beloved Messenger of ALLAH, sallallahu alaihi wasallam, said: وَلَعْنُ الْمُؤْمِنِ كَقَتْلِهِ وَمَنْ رَمَى مُؤْمِنًا بِكُفْرٍ فَهُوَ كَقَتْلِهِ Cursing a believer is like killing him and charging a believer with unbelief is like killing him. Source: Sahih Bukhari 5754. Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of ALLAH, peace and blessings be upon him, said: لَا يَنْبَغِي لِصِدِّيقٍ أَنْ يَكُونَ لَعَّانًا It is not befitting the truthful that they curse others. Source: Sahih Muslim 2597. Let's avoid cursing our kids if we want them to be successful in life. We must also avoid cursing other Muslims even if they do to us but rather seek guidance and forgiveness from ALLAH for them and ALLAH will reward us for that immensely in shaa ALLAH. May ALLAH keeps guiding us all and protect us from any satanic influences. Aameen.
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS.  Yaumul Jumuat. 24th day of Rajab. (Friday, 25th February 2022). ENDURING GRIEF AND HARDSHIP IN LIFE AS MUSLIMS continues. BismilLaah. Let's continue from the reminder yesterday; Hadith narrated by Abu ‘Abbas ‘Abdullah, says: "Remember ALLAH in times of ease, and HE will be there for you in times of distress. What hit you could not have missed you, what missed you could not have hit you. Remember that victory comes with patience. My dear Brothers and Sisters, "verily in the Messenger of ALLAH we have the finest of examples" Even he, Prophet Muhammad sallal-láhu ‘alayhi wasallam also endured much pain and hardship, especially in his youth, with extraordinary patience and perseverance. He was an orphan, cared for by milk-mothers, grandfather, and uncles. During the early years of his mission, he was jeered, taunted, threatened, reviled and persecuted by his own tribe, the Quraish of Makka. Many of his followers were killed for their accept...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS.  Yaum Al-Khamis. 23rd day of Rajab. (Thursday, 24th February 2022). ENDURING GRIEF AND HARDSHIP IN LIFE AS MUSLIMS. BismilLaah. As human beings, I am sure each and every one of us has, at some point in our life, been visited by grief, tragedy, or tremendous loss, emotionally or materially. It may have been a serious illness or accident or death of a loved one, or we may have failed an important examination, or we may have seen a business or professional career which has grown and prospered over many years, finally come to disaster. Losing to marry our loved ones etc. To those who have suffered such a loss, their feelings are hard to describe adequately. There is a sense of utter despair, emptiness etc. It can become so intense that one actually questions the whole purpose and meaning of life.  However, many people are unable to come to terms with sudden catastrophic loss, and therefore, we often hear of someone being so overcome with grief th...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS.  Yaum Arba'a. 22nd day of Rajab. (Wednesday, 23rd February 2022). THE SIGNIFICANCE OF SUPEREROGATORY (Sunnah and Nafl) SALAAT (Prayers). BismilLah.  Sunnah Salaat are voluntary prayers which were prayed by the Messenger of ALLAH (sallallahu alaihi wasallam), and thus they become his Sunnah for us. If one prays them, he will earn a huge reward from ALLAH Subhaanah; and if one does not pray them, there is no sin but if one intentionally decide I'm not praying them that's sinful because it's the same as rejecting what the messenger encouraged. The most that can be said of one who does not pray the Sunnah prayers is that he loses a great opportunity to earn huge rewards from ALLAH and to perfect his or her obligatory Salaat. The Sunnah or Nawaafil (supererogatory prayers), have been legislated to make up for any deficiencies or unknown errors left in the performance of Fard salaah (obligatory prayers). In Salaah, there are virtues that are not ...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS.  Yaum Ath-thalaatha. 21st day of Rajab. (Tuesday, 22nd February 2022). THE DAY OF RESURRECTION IS A FACT NOT THEORY. BismilLah.  The Day of Resurrection will be the Day when ALLAH’s attributes of Justice and Mercy will be in full manifestation. ALLAH will shower His mercy on those who strived for HIS sake in the worldly life, believing that eternal bliss was awaiting them. But those who abused the bounties of ALLAH, caring nothing for the life to come, will be in the most miserable state. Drawing a comparison between them, the Quran says: Then is he whom ALLAH have promised a good promise which he will meet [i.e. obtain] like he for whom ALLAH provided enjoyment of worldly life [but] then he is, on the Day of Resurrection, among those presented [for punishment in Hell]?   (Quran, 28:61). The Quran also states that this worldly life is a preparation for the eternal life after death. But those who deny it become slaves of their passio...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS.  Yaum al-ithnayn. 20th day of Rajab. (Monday, 21st February 2022). LET'S HELP OURSELVES. BismilLah.  Abu Hurayra (ra), the companion of the Messenger of ALLAH, was asked about Taqwa (God-consciousness). He said, “It is a road full of thorns. One who walks on it must have extreme patience.” I asked several brothers and sisters if they know what their mission in life might be. Some said yes. I asked them if they were carrying out their mission. Most said no, and gave these reasons: "I feel that others are more qualified than me. It seems like a fantasy.  It feels like a dream. I tried once and it didn’t go my way. Right now I need to focus on financial security. I’m not ready yet. Does this sound like you? Brothers and sisters, no one is more qualified than you to fulfil the plan that ALLAH has for you! ALLAH’s plan is not a fantasy or a dream. It may not go your way the first time, or the second, or the third. It may not make you rich, b...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS.  Yaumul Ahad. 19th day of Rajab. (Sunday, 20th Febuary 2022). Morals and Manners in Islam. BismilLah.  The Prophet Muhammed (Sallallaahu alayhi wa Sallam) said: “Whoever believes in ALLAH and the last day then let him say a word that is good or be silent.”  And the Prophet (Sallallaahu alayhi wa Sallam) said: “From the goodness of a person’s Islam is that he leaves off that which does not concern him.” Also, the Prophet (Sallallaahu alayhi wa Sallam) said to the one who sought advice from him: “Do not become angry!” Likewise, the Prophet (Sallallaahu alayhi wa Sallam) said: “None of you (truly) believes until he loves for his brother, what he loves for himself.” Hence, these four narrations are all from forty hadeeth of the narrations regarding morals and manners, collected by Imam An-Nawawee (May ALLAH be pleased with him). These actions must be done all the time for our own good.  May ALLAH aid us to practice what we learn. Aameen...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS.  Yaum As-Sabt. 18th day of Rajab. (Saturday, 19th Febuary 2022). TREAT THE BAD RELATIVES AND FRIENDS WITH GOODNESS. BismilLah  In Quran 41:34  ALLAH says (Tafsir ibn kathir); وَلَا تَسْتَوِي الْحَسَنَةُ وَلَا السَّيِّيَةُ The good deed and the evil deed cannot be equal. means, there is a huge difference between them. ادْفَعْ بِالَّتِي هِيَ أَحْسَنُ Repel (the evil) with one which is better, means, `when someone does you wrong, repel him by treating him well,' as Umar, may ALLAH be pleased with him, said, "There is no better punishment for one who has disobeyed ALLAH with regard to you, than your obeying ALLAH with regard to him." فَإِذَا الَّذِي بَيْنَكَ وَبَيْنَهُ عَدَاوَةٌ كَأَنَّهُ وَلِيٌّ حَمِيمٌ then verily he, between whom and you there was enmity, (will become) as though he was a close friend. means, `if you treat well those who treat you badly, this good deed will lead to reconciliation, love and empathy, and it will be as if he ...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS.  Yaumul Jumuat. 17th day of Rajab. (Friday, 18th Febuary 2022). THE ONENESS OF ALLAH IN ISLAM IS OUT KHUTBAH TODAY. BismilLah.  Some says they worship Uzayr as the son of ALLAH. Others says they worship Jesus  Christ, Issah Alaihi salaam as the son/part of ALLAH. The Zoroastrians says they worship the sun and the moon as symbols of ALLAH and the idolators says they worship idols as physical representation of ALLAH. But ALLAH revealed to the Prophet Muhammad sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam to tell mankind that: HE, ALLAH is the name of the CREATOR, ALLAH is ONE and ONLY. ALLAH is HE on Whom all depend. HE begets not, nor is HE begotten. And none is like HIM. Qur’an 112:1-4.  ALLAH is worshiped directly through the teachings of the Messengers without involving those messengers in the worship. This is the teaching of ALLAH complete Oneness and it is the essence of Islam. All other laws, beliefs and commands of Islam are built on this founda...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS.  Yaum Al-Khamis. 16th day of Rajab. (Thursday, 17th Febuary 2022). THE LIGHT OF THE TRUTH. Bismillah HuMan is a unique creature. ALLAH establishes human as HIS representative or deputy to govern over all other creatures in this world. HE is endowed with the faculty of REASON, which sets him apart from all other animals. Together with this faculty to discriminate and discern, man is given the freedom (free-will) to choose for himself a way of life worthy of his or her position as ALLAH'S representative or to fall lower than the lowest of all animals or creations. Man is born pure and sinless and is given the choice to do righteous deeds or indulge in sins. The Creator, out of HIS abundant Love and Mercy for mankind has not left us in darkness to discover the right path by trial and error alone. Coupled with our intellectual capability to reason, our Creator bestowed upon us DIVINE GUIDANCE that outlines the Criterion for TRUTH, knowledge, as well a...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS.  Yaum Arba'a. 15th day of Rajab. (Wednesday, 16th Febuary 2022). Criteria for Determining What is Right or Wrong in Islam CONTINUES. BismilLah. The Criterion of Considering the General Welfare: Islam came to secure the welfare of people. Therefore, something that brings about the realization of the general welfare and prevents harm is correct. By contrast, something that results in harm while failing to further the general welfare is clearly wrong. When something furthers the general interest more than it causes harm, it is preferable. Whatever does more harm than good, by contrast, is generally to be rejected.  Scholars has said that when a matter relates to acts of pure worship, good is defined as that which fulfills two criteria: It must be carried out sincerely and exclusively for ALLAH’S sake and it must be in accordance with the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace be upon him). When the matter relates to the worldly activities of our daily liv...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS.  Yaum Ath-thalaatha. 14th day of Rajab. (Tuesday, 15th Febuary 2022). Criteria for Determining What is Right or Wrong in Islam CONTINUES. BismilLah. Please read through the  Reminder yesterday before this one and if you didn't received the Reminder yesterday please request for a copy The Second Criteria is The Sunnah. Whatever is established to be authentically related from Prophet Muhamad (sallallahu alaihi wasallam), is clear in meaning, and is not countered by any other evidence, is something that a Muslim has no option but to accept. Those who chooses to be following only the Quran are making a grave mistake and that alone may render your shahaadah or declaration of faith invalid.  Consensus of the Muslim Scholars is the third criteria: What we are concerned with here is consensus that is well established where we are absolutely certain of unanimity of opinion. Nevertheless, we can see from looking at numerous examples that the opini...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS.  Yaumul Ahad. 12th day of Rajab. (Sunday, 13th Febuary 2022). WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT RAJAB. Bismillah.  Rajab is derived from the word Rajaba meaning "to respect."  This is one of the four sacred months in which fighting was forbidden prior to Islam. It is also known as Rajab al Fard where Fard means alone, because this month comes alone, separated from the other three consecutive sacred months. This month is also deemed to be a prelude to the month of Ramadan, because the month of Ramadan follows it after the intervening month of Sha’baan. Therefore, when the Holy Prophet (S.A.W) sighted the moon of Rajab, he used to pray to ALLAH (SWT) “O Allah, make the month of Rajab and Sha’baan blessed for us and let us reach the month of Ramadan (ie prolong our life upto Ramadan so that we may benefit from its merits and blessings).” There are several events related to this month which have no religious significance associated with them. No specific w...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS.  Yaum As-Sabt. 11th day of Rajab. (Saturday, 12th Febuary 2022). LEARNING ABOUT THE PROPHET sallallaahu Alaihi wasallam. BismilLah.  Quick question to refresh our minds: who was Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaiyhi wassallam? As Muslims, we believe he was the last and final messenger of the CREATOR, ALLAH to mankind. His life is an example for generations after generations until the end of time on how to live in a pure and humble way, with the worship of ALLAH, the Creator as our purpose and pivotal role. The word “sunnah” is used to describe the life and teachings of the Prophet. The sunnah is an ultimate guidance for leading a productive, successful life. Sometimes we neglect the sunnah, however, we find ourselves googling “how to be successful/smart/productive”, while the sunnah of the Prophet has provided us with gems on how to do just that. Better yet, the Prophet said: “Whoever revives my Sunnah then he has loved me. And whoever loved me...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS.  Yaumul Jumuat. 10th/11th day of Rajab. (Friday, 11th Febuary 2022). CALLING TO A SUCCESSFUL LIFE BY THE CREATOR. BismilLah.  ALLAH says, قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن تَزَكَّى وَذَكَرَ اسْمَ رَبِّهِ فَصَلَّى Indeed whosoever purifies himself shall achieve success. meaning, he purifies himself from despised characteristics and he follows what ALLAH has revealed to the Messenger. And remembers the Name of his Lord, and performs Salah. meaning, he establishes the prayer in its appointed time, seeking the pleasure of ALLAH, obedience to HIS command, and implementation of HIS Law. Quran 87:14-15 Here, ALLAH is reminding us to be charitable and at the same time praise HIM much whiles offering our salaat on time too. We will definitely be successful on earth and in the Hereafter following these simple advise in shaa ALLAH. Please remember today is Friday.  May ALLAH keep guiding us all and aid us to practice what we learn and also purify our intentions. A...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS.  Yaum Al-Khamis, 9th/10th day of Rajab. (Thursday, 10th Febuary 2022). GATES OF GOODNESS. BismilLah.  Narrated by Mu'adh bin Jabal [radhi-yAllahu 'anhu]: The Prophet (ALLAH's Messenger ) said to him: "May I show you the gates of goodness? (They are): (1) Fasting act as a screen from Hell. (2) As-Sadaqah (deeds of charity in ALLAH'S Cause) extinguishes (removes) the sins as the water extinguishes the fire. (3) Standing in Salat (performing of prayers) by a person during the middle (or the last third) part of a night." Then Prophet (ﷺ) recited: "Their sides forsake their beds." (V.32:16) (Abu Dawud and At-Tirmidhi) (Tafsir Al-Qurtubi), Paradise becomes their final abode.  May ALLAH keep guiding us all and aid us to implement what we learn. Aameen.
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS.  Yaum al-ithnayn, 6th/7th day of Rajab. (Monday, 7th Febuary 2022). WE ARE THE ARCHITECT OF OUR OWN SUFFERING. BismilLah. Alhamdulillah for blessing us with another blessed day of the week.  The sad reality we find ourselves today as humans especially in we Muslims is the fact that we hate each other, we envy each other, we blame each other, we focus on accusing and abusing others. We never focus on ourselves first and try to be good human beings. We all know the many hadith and Qur'an verses on this points I'm raising today. The Prophet sallallahu Alaihi wasallam said no one can claim to be a believer if he does not love for others what he love for himself. This is a well known authentic hadith right? But sadly majority of we Muslim today cannot claim to pass this basic rule of our deen. We hate our own parents and children, we hate our wives and husbands, co-wives hate each other etc. This is a serious issue that require us to sit down, con...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS.  Yaumul Ahad, 5th/6th day of Rajab. (Sunday, 6th Febuary 2022). LETS BE STEADFAST IN OUR OBEDIENCE TO ALLAH FOR PARADISE WILL BE AN ULTIMATE REWARDS. BismilLah.  ALLAH have promised us in the Quran that those of us who obey HIS rules and worship HIM sincerely will be driven to Paradise in groups with Prophet Mohammed  sallalLaahu Alaihi Wasallam as our imam in front till we get to the gate of paradise and its keepers say, "Peace be upon you; you have become pure; so enter it to abide eternally therein. Az-Zumar 39:73. Allahu Akbar.  In Sahih Muslim, The Messenger of ALLAH is reported to have said: أَنَا أَوَّلُ شَفِيعٍ فِي الْجَنَّة I will be the first intercessor to PARADISE  وَأَنَا أَوَّلُ مَنْ يَقْرَعُ بَابَ الْجَنَّة And I will be the first one to knock at the gates of Paradise. I will come to the gate of Paradise on the Day of Resurrection and will ask for it to be opened. The gatekeeper will say, "Who are you?" I will sa...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS.  Yaum As-Sabt, 4th/5th day of Rajab. (Saturday, 5th Febuary 2022). RIGHTEOUSNESS LEADS TO HAPPINESS. BismilLah.  Faith and righteous deeds are the greatest and most fundamental means of attaining happiness in life. ALLAH says: “Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him ALLAH will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and ALLAH shall pay them certainly a reward in proportion to the best of what they used to do (i.e. Paradise in the Hereafter)” [al-Nahl 16:97].  ALLAH tells us and promises us that whoever combines faith with righteous deeds will have a good life and a good reward in this world and in the Hereafter. The reason for that is clear: those who believe in ALLAH, with sincere faith that motivates them to do righteous deeds that change hearts and attitudes and guides them to the straight path in this wor...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS.  Yaumul Jumuat, 3rd/4th day of Rajab. (Friday, 4th Febuary 2022). HARAAM RELATIONSHIPS IN SCHOOLS, COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES IN THE NAME PLANNING TO MARRY MUST STOP FOR ALLAH SAKE. MY HUMBLE KHUTBAH FOR ALL STUDENTS. BISMILLAH.  Regularly, I do remind each of us that, as Muslims, our priorities in life MUST BE to obey ALLAH and His Messenger if indeed we want to succeed in this life and the hereafter. Are we blind to see many dying on daily basis? Are you ready for your meeting with ALLAH. Who even promised you will graduate before dying?. Let's note that our certificates cannot help us even on this earth if ALLAH doesn't help us. Have we ever witnessed someone been buried with his or her certificates? Let's fear the words of ALLAH contained in the Quran and teachings of Prophet and fear the day we will be prepared to visit the grave which can be any day any moment from the time you are reading this reminder. No one is guaranteed any time fra...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS.  Yaum Arba'a, 30th Jumaadal Aakhir. (Wednesday, 2nd Febuary 2022). DYING WITH DEBTS IS DANGEROUS. BismilLah.  Our beloved Messenger of ALLAH (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said:  “Whoever dies free from three things:- Arrogance, Cheating and Debt, will enter Paradise.” Narrated by al-Tirmidhi (1572). There are many hadith on this Astaqfirullah. May ALLAH protect us from debts and aid us to pay off debts before dying. Aameen.
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS.  Yaum Ath-thalaatha, 29th Jumaadal Aakhir. (Tuesday, 1st Febuary 2022). THE POWER OF MAKING DUA: BismilLah.  Pride and Arrogance are a major acts of sheitan that damages our relationshipwithALLAH. For someone that makes constant Dua, arrogance and  pride are something that is not among their characteristics because when one beseeches ALLAH, he is affirming his own powerlessness. The doors of mercy are opened. Abdullah bin Umar narrated that the Prophet said, “For whoever the door of Dua opened, for him the doors of mercy are opened...” (Tirmidhi). The Prophet once said, “Dua is Ibadah(Worship)” Since it is a type of worship, it is something that we must always do. This is even to the extent that the Prophet said, “ALLAH is extremely displeased with the person who doesn’t make dua.” (Tirmidhi). Try making Dua for others because if you do so, the same thing may also occur to you too.  We ask ALLAH to have mercy on our ignorance, forgi...
