DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaumul Ahad 20th day of Ramadhaan (Sunday 2nd May 2021). SOME BASIC RULES OF ITIKAAF. BismilLah.

Undoubtedly i’tikaaf in the mosque is an act of worship, and (observing it) in Ramadaan is better than at other times. It is prescribed in Ramadaan and at other times.

The basic principle is that i’tikaaf is Sunnah, not obligatory, so those who can do it must strive to do so. A person should stay in a mosque for the duration of the I’tikaf (except for certain things as going out to ease yourself if the masjid has no toilet facilities).

One of our mothers Aa’ishah may ALLAH be pleased with her reported that when the Prophet (peace and blessings of ALLAH be upon him) observed I’tikaf, he did not enter the house except to relieve himself. Narrated by Muslim (297).

Similarly, you also needs to eat and drink. If you do not have anyone who can bring you food and drink, then you may go out to get them if you need to. For everything that you cannot do without and cannot do in the mosque, you may go out for that purpose, and that does not invalidate your I’tikaf, so long as you do not divert into any worldly gains.

A person is prohibited from engaging in sexual relations with his wives during the period of I’tikaf. ALLAH tells us in the Quran:

“And do not have sexual relations with them (your wives) while you are in I’tikaf (i.e. confining oneself in a mosque for prayers and invocations leaving the worldly activities) in the mosques” [Surah. al-Baqarah 2:187].

A person may leave the mosque if he or she is extremely sick. That for a person in I’tikaf who is so sick that it is too hard for him to stay in the mosque because he needs to be in his bed, and he needs to be helped and to be visited by the doctor  etc, it is permissible for him to leave the mosque Al-Nawawi (may ALLAH have mercy on him) stated in al-Majmoo’ (6/545). A wife must not take part without the permission of her husband. Non married sisters can participate only if a masjid arrange sisters facilities in the masjid or a secure place for them under strict guidelines.

Scholars has said that one of the greatest aims of I’tikaf is to seek Laylat al-Qadr, and (to observe I’tikaf in the last ten nights of Ramadan. Same A person should come out of I’tikaf when Ramadan ends. Ramadan ends when the sun sets on the night of Eid. Fataawa al-Siyaam, p. 502. (Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen).

May ALLAH keep guiding us all and protect us from any satanic influences. Aameen.

THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Al-Khamis. 25th day of RAJAB, 1444AH (Thursday 16th February. 2023). TOLERANCE WITH PEOPLE IN ISLAM. BismilLaah.  Tolerance (samah) is an important trait of a Muslim’s good character. We Muslims should be kind and gentle, patient with people, forgiving of bad character, and lenient whenever possible. The Prophet Mohammed Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam commanded us to avoid causing unnecessary difficulty and hardship in people’s lives and to inspire people with graceful speech. Make things easy and do not make things difficult. Give glad tidings and do not repel people. Cooperate with each other and do not become divided. Sahih Bukhari 2873, Grade: Muttafaqun Alayhi. This command is closely related to the need of a Muslim to control his or her anger. Unrestrained anger leads to numerous sins and bad deeds, so Muslims must temper their anger with patience, tolerance, and the ability to hold back harmful words. Teasing, mockery, insults to others et...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yawmul ahad, 17th day of Sha’abaan 1446AH, Sunday. 16th Feb. 2025). THE TRUE MEANINGS OF THE WORD DEEN continues. BismilLah.  ALLAH (Azza Wa Jal, The MIGHTY and the MAJESTIC) has sent HIS Messenger with the true deen for the purpose of ending the sovereignty of all false gods and granting us immense freedom so that we live as servants of none but the LORD of the UNIVERSE, no matter how much the idolaters and polytheists may dislike or oppose such a course. Thus, these three meanings of deen stand out: To acknowledge ALLAH as the ONLY LORD, MASTER and RULER. To obey and serve ONLY HIM. To be accountable to HIM, to fear only HIS punishment and to covet only HIS reward. Deen also includes obedience to ALLAH'S Messengers. The commandments of ALLAH Azzawajal have been given to human beings through HIS books and HIS Messengers. ALLAH Azzawajal says; Children of Aadam! If there should come to you Messengers from among you, who convey MY revelations unto you, ...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaum ar-ba'a. 7th day of Jumaadal Aakhir.. (Wednesday 20th January 2021). Who are Believers. BismilLah.  Lets check in  Suurah Al-Mu'minun (The Believers). ALLAH says; 1. Successful indeed are the believers.  2. Those who offer their Salaat (prayers) with all solemnity and full submissiveness. 3. And those who turn away from Al-Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk, falsehood, and all that ALLAH has forbidden).  4. Those who pay the Zakat . 5. Those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts) 6. Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, for then, they are free from blame; etc ALLAH, the Most High, says “…for verily ALLAH is with those who believe.”[Al Qur’an 8:19] When ALLAH says that “HE is with the believers”, it means that the believers don’t need anyone else. Rasullulah(sallallahu alaihi wasallam) has said “Be mindful of ALLAH, and ALLAH will protect you. Be m...
