THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaum al-ithnayn, 19th day of Shawwal (Monday 31st May 2021). ISLAM, THE MODERN BETTER ALTERNATIVE TO LIFE. BismilLah.  Some people think that to live an Islamic life is "restrictive". Islam however, was revealed as a balanced way of living. ALLAH (The Most High) created all the humans with what is called 'A Fitrah' (a natural state/desire). Islam recognises that within this Fitrah there are motivations that influence a man's role on earth e.g. a desire for good food and drink, to have a home, a desire for love, to protect and be protected and to be successful and strong. Without some form of control and limit, all of these legitimate motives could prove very dangerous. So what constitutes the perfect control for the Fitrah? It must be a method that provides an organised yet practical demonstration of how to balance all these natural human desires. It cannot be something that goes against the Fitrah, by placing on it extra burdens. Lik...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaumul Jumuat, 16th day of Shawwal (Friday 28th May 2021). LET'S BE MINDFUL OF THE LAST VERSE OF THE QUR'AN REVEALED TO MANKIND FROM THE CREATOR. BismilLah.  In Quran 2:281 ALLAH says; Tafsir ibn kathir;  And have Taqwa (Fear or mindful) for the Day when you shall be brought back to ALLAH. Then every person shall be paid what he earned, and they shall not be dealt with unjustly. Sheikh An-Nasa'i and Sheikh Ad-Dahhak and Al-Awfi all recorded that Sheikh Ibn Abbas narrated that the above verse is the last verse of the Quran. Let's be mindful and ensure we remain steadfast in good deeds seeking the Pleasure of Meeting ALLAH. Please also remember today is a mini Eid, Friday. Please ensure you recite Qur'an more especially Suuratul Kahf. Recite lots of durood (Salaat Alan Nabi), Perform Ghusul before going to Masjid early a...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaum Al-Khamis, 15th day of Shawwal (Thursday 27th May 2021). GOOD CHARACTER IS PART OF OUR IDENTITY AS SERVANTS OF ALLAAH. BismilLah.  It is upon us as individuals, to examine the shortcomings in our character, and to then seek to improve them - modeling ourselves upon the character of the last of the Prophets and Messengers, and their leader, Muhammad (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), aspiring also for the excellence which he mentioned in his saying: "I am a guarantor for a house on the outskirts of Paradise for whosoever leaves off arguing, even if he is in the right; and a house in the center of Paradise for whosoever abandons falsehood, even when joking; and a house in the upper-most part of Paradise for whosoever makes his character good." [Related by Aboo Daawood (no.4800) and al-Bayhaqee (10/249), from Aboo Umaamah (radiyallaahu ‘anhu). It was authenticated by al-Albaanee in as-Saheehah (no.273). May ALLAH keep guiding us all and protect u...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaum Arba'a 14th day of Shawwal (Wednesday 26th May 2021). SOME BASIC ADVICE FOR US ALL. BismilLah.  Let's strive to live a life full of appreciation to ALLAH regardless of your situation seeking ALLAH to make it better. If things get difficult, the Qur'an is your companions today's easiness. If loneliness starts to hurt, send your supplications through the heavens especially by reciting durood regularly (salaat Alan Nabi). When people ask how you are, always praise ALLAH by saying Alhamdulillah and smile even if things seems rough. When you see an ant or any little creations on the road, avoid stepping on it or hitting it with your car, seeking therein the Face of ALLAH; for perhaps HE will have mercy on you as you had mercy on it Remember that the ant glorifies ALLAH, so don't cut of it's glorifying by killing it. When you pass by a bird drinking from a pond, don't go so near so as to scare it, and seek therein the Face of ALL...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaum Ath-thalaatha 13th day of Shawwal (Tuesday 25th May 2021). INGREDIENTS OF FAITH. BismilLah. What the Qur’an, Sunnah, and the righteous early generations agreed upon on this topic is that faith consists of both words and deeds, and may increase and decrease; there is no faith unless it is accompanied by actions. Saying I am a Muslim is not enough my brothers and sisters. We must act to earn that title of A MUSLIM. We must SHOW to non Muslims what Islam is all about not by telling them or by our dress code. It's a sad reality that We Muslims are Minority to non Muslims but unfortunately majority of thieves in any community are Muslims, majority of bad boys or girls today are Muslims, the title A MUSLIM is now associated with bad name why? Because we are failing to live our lives by the Qur'an and Sunnah that's all. We are Muslims by name not by actions. We are busy with politics, fighting each other,  hating each other allowing the kuffar to...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaum al-ithnayn 12th day of Shawwal (Monday 24th May 2021). CAN A MAN AND A WOMAN TALK IN PRIVATE ON THE INTERNET TO GET TO KNOW EACH OTHER FOR THE SAKE OF MARRIAGE?. BismilLah. Our learned Imams have said that, a relationship between a man and woman should be controlled by Sharia. In other words, it is Haram for a man/woman to have a relationship outside marriage. This is a well documented fact I'm sure every Muslim knows. A Muslim man/woman should not speak or write to the opposite sex as long as there is no need. In case of need to such a relationship, they (man and woman) should be governed by Sharia limitations and teaching morals and good behaviour so that they avoid any form of temptation. In this vein, the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) warned us from the woman's temptation saying: "I am not leaving behind a more harmful trial (cause of mischief) for men than women" [Reported by Imams al-Bukhari and Muslim]. The Satan entic...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaumul ahad, 11th day of Shawwal (Sunday 23rd May 2021). * _ This may not be true story from a friend but very true and sad reality of our modern world _ * . BismilLah. “The house where I lived was about to be seized, just because I could not pay the rent. I tried to get help from all relatives I know but all saying they don't have so I posted my situation on Facebook looking for help, but all I could get is 2 "I like" and zero comment. So I sent 250 messages to my contact list requesting a loan of N5000. Unfortunately only 10 people responded. 6 out of 10 said they could not help me. And only 1 out of 4 who promised to help me and gave me some money less than I needed. The other 3 gave me no excuse and never answered my calls. In the end, I was ejected. I became homeless. I did not have a place to sleep. I walked in the dark looking for options and, unfortunately, a thief stole my empty purse with my ID. He was badly hit by a car in high speed as he fle...
FIRST REMINDER. Yaum As-Sabt 9th day of Shawwal (Saturday 23rd June). ENDURING GRIEF AND HARDSHIP IN LIFE AS MUSLIMS. BismilLaah. In Súra Al-Baqara, verses 155-157, Allah subhanallahu ta’ala reminds us: "Verily, ALLAH will test you with something of fear and hunger; some loss in goods or lives or the fruits (of your toil) but give glad tidings to those who patiently persevere. Who say when afflicted with calamity: "Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhir raji-oon" "To ALLAH we belong and to HIM is our return." They are those on whom (descend) blessings from ALLAH and Mercy and they are the ones that receive guidance." From these verses we can see that in a Muslim’s life, hardship and suffering should never come as a complete surprise. In fact, ALLAH promises us some hardship as a certainty, somewhere during our lifetime. It is a test of our eeman, our faith in ALLAH, and we should not despair, because there are lessons to be learnt from every situation, especially f...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaumul Jumuat 9th day of Shaw'waal (Friday 21st May 2021). SEEKING FORGIVENESS REGULARLY. BismilLah.  As Muslims, we must always strive to seek forgiveness and mercy of ALLAH as our main dua on daily basis. ALLAH is truly Merciful and The mercy of ALLAH is more beloved to the Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam than the entire world. In an authentic narration from Musnad Aḥmad 21857,  may ALLAH be pleased with him, The Messenger of ALLAH, peace and blessings be upon him, is reported to have said, “I would not love to have the world or anything in it in exchange for this verse: "O my servants who have transgressed against themselves, do not despair of the mercy of ALLAH. Verily, ALLAH forgives all sins, for ALLAH is the Forgiving, the Merciful.” (39:53). AlhamdulilLah.  Regardless of your sins, just regret it, aim not to repeat such sins, seek help and forgiveness from ALLAH and be hopeful ALLAH has forgiven you. Never doubt the promise of AL...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaum Al-Khamis 8th day of Shaw'waal (Thursday 20th May 2021). A CHRISTIAN ASK ME WHY HE SHOULD JOIN ISLAM?. BismilLahir. Logically, even on education we human beings go through nursery, then primary, then secondary, then university to attain the highest in life right? Similarly in the creation of God, mankind went through Nursery from the time of Aadam through Noah etc, then went through primary through Abraham and Moses etc, went through secondary through Jesus Christ then in the final stage of University is by going through Prophet Muhammad may ALLAH be pleased with them all. It doesn't necessarily mean one is right and other is wrong but what it means is a University student will be wrong to be attending classes with secondary school students isnt it. Religiously, ALLAH sent Messengers in different generations with different rules for each generations.  Islam is the complete way of life from God to mankind and God stated clearly in the Qur'an th...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaum Arba'a 7th day of Shaw'waal (Wednesday 19th May 2021). WHAT NEXT AFTER RAMADAN ABOUT OUR SALAAT?BismilLaah.  SALAAT  is the first and most important command in the commands of ALLAH after the Shahaadah. ALLAH says in the Holy Quran 5-6: “The sun and the moon follow their circulated course; the plants and trees submit to HIS designs.”And Aayah 41 of Surah Nur says: “[Rasuul Allah], do you not see that all those who are in the heavens and earth praise ALLAH, as do the birds with wings out stretched? Each knows its [own way] of prayer and glorification of ALLAH: ALLAH has full knowledge of what they do.” But such a prayer and glorification is beyond man’s comprehension. ALLAH (SWT) says in Aayah 44 of Surah Isra: “The seven heavens and the earth and everyone in them glorify HIM. There is not a single thing that does not praise HIM, though you do not understand their praise: He is forbearing, mos...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaum Ath-thalaatha 6th day of Shaw'waal (Tuesday 18th May 2021). SOME STEPS TO PROTECT US FROM SATAN'S RETURN. BismilLah.  Don't make the Quran a decoration piece until next Ramadan. Let's try our best each day to recite the Quran atleast 30 minutes as minimum. We should also try to understand the meaning of what we read. If we don't do this then we can't understand what it is that ALLAH is talking to us about. And ofcourse, if you cannot recite properly,  that's a self abuse as such you must make it as a priority to find a teacher to teach you. There is no justification that you can read English text but cannot recite the Quran. It's never too late to learn to recite the qur'an and striving to understand the meaning. Not only the Quran but more importantly the sunnah of our beloved Messenger of ALLAH sallalLaahu Alaihi Wasallam. Without the sunnah we cannot even comprehend the Quran.  Please remember to make dua for all Mus...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaumul Ithnayn 5th day of Shaw'waal (Munday 17th May 2021). THE BEAUTIFUL MOMENTS OF DEATH FOR BELIEVERS CAPTURED IN THE QURAN. BismilLah.  ALLAH says in the Qur'an; Indeed, those who have said, "Our Lord is ALLAH " and then remained on a right course - the angels will descend upon them (during the last moment of death), [saying], "Do not fear and do not grieve but receive good tidings of Paradise, which you were promised. Fussilat 41:30.  In Arabic Istaqamu: stand firm, i.e. they followed (really) the religion of Islamic Monotheism, believed in the Oneness of ALLAH, and worshipped none but HIM (Alone), and performed all that was ordained by ALLAH (good deeds) and abstained from all that was forbidden by ALLAH (sins and evil deeds). Nothing can happen to us without the permission of ALLAH as such even if it's bad, seek guidance and forgiveness only from ALLAH. Let's strive to find out the positive reasons of anything happening to...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaumul ahad 4th day of Shaw'waal (Sunday 16th May 2021). HAVE YOU STARTED PAYING FOR YOUR RAMADHAN DEBTS OR STARTED YOUR 6 DAYS IN SHAWWAL? BismilLah.  It's important we don't delay any acts of worship that can get us closer to ALLAH. Those who missed any days in Ramadhan should start fasting now without delaying it unless with genuine reasons. Those who doesn't owe any days should start fasting the 6 recommended days in this month Shawwaal.  The Prophet (peace and blessings of ALLAH be upon him) explained this when he said: “Whoever fasts for six days after (Eid) al-Fitr has completed the year: (whoever does a good deed (hasanah) will have ten hasanah like it).” According to another report: “ALLAAH has made for each hasanah ten like it, so a month is like fasting ten months, and fasting six days is like fasting 2 months that completes the whole year.”  Even though its permissible to fast these 6 special days within Shawwal then complete you...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaum As-Sabt 3rd day of Shaw'waal (Saturday 15th May 2021). SO WHAT NEXT AFTER RAMADHAN? BismilLaah. AlhamdulilLah for guiding us all through the blessed month of Ramadhan.   What Have We Gained From Ramadhan? Ramadan is a school of eeman and a 'stop to recharge one's spiritual batteries' - to acquire one's provision for the rest of the year... For when will one take a lesson and change for better if not in the month of Ramadhan? The noble month is a true school of transformation in which we change our actions, habits and manners that are in variance with the Law of ALLAH 'azza wa jall. Verily, ALLAH does not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves. (Ar-Ra`d, 11).  If you are from those who benefited from Ramadhan, fulfilled the requirements of taqwa, truly fasted the month, prayed in it with truthfulness, and strove against your soul, then praise and thank ALLAH, and ask HIM for steadfastness upon it un...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaum As-Sabt 2nd day of Shaw'waal (Friday 14th May 2021). HOW TO REMAIN STEADFAST IN ISLAM AFTER RAMADAN. BismilLaah. Islam is a complete way of life till death not only in Ramadan. Its sad that Ramadhan is gone so we must remind ourselves that we are Muslims of all times not only in Ramadhan and we have the Quran to guide us through all times.  The Quran is the main means for one to remain steadfast, and attachment to it preserves and safeguards a person during trials. ALLAH Says: “And those who disbelieve say: ‘Why was the Quran not revealed to him all at once?’ Thus [it is] that We may strengthen thereby your heart. And We have spaced it distinctly.” [Quran 25: 32].  Why is the Quran a means for steadfastness? 1.  It instils faith in the heart and purifies the soul by connecting it to ALLAH. 2.  It calms the heart of the believer and makes it tranquil. 3.  It provides the believer with the correct principles by which he can face...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaum al-khamis 1st day of Shaw'waal (Thursday 13th May 2021). EID MUBARAK TO YOU ALL. BismilLah.  AlhamdulilLah for granting us the opportunity to be part of this blessed day. I wish you eid Mubarak. May ALLAH accept it from us all and unite the ummah from any satanic influences. Aameen.  Please don't forget these Sunnah acts today. Remember to to offer your Zakaat-al-Fitr this morning before going for eid if you've not given yet. Remember to perform Ghusl (pure Islamic bath) before going for Eid. Brush your teeth. Dress up, putting on best clothes available, whether new or cleaned old ones. Apply perfume (only men). Have breakfast before leaving for prayer ground. Go to Eid prayer early. Offer Salaat-al-Eid in congregation preferably in an open place except when whether is not permitting like rain, snow, regulations etc. Use a separate route one for going and one returning from Eid prayer ground. Recite the followi...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaum Arba'a 30th day of Ramadhaan (Wednesday 12th May 2021). HOW TO OFFER EID PRAYER BismilLaah. Ibn Abbass (ra) reported: " I participated in the Eid-ul-Fitr prayer with the Messenger of ALLAH (sallallahu alaihi wasallam), Abu Bakr (ra), Umar (ra) and Uthman (ra), and all of them held Eid prayer before Khutbah, and then the Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) delivered the Khutbah (sermon). (Narrated by Imam Muslim). Who should go to the prayer ground & offer Eid Prayer: Umm Atiyah (ra) reported: "The Messenger of ALLAH (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) commanded us to bring out on Eid-al-Fitr and Eid-al-Adha, young women, hijab-observing adult women and the menstruating women. The menstruating women stayed out of actual Salaat but participated in good deeds and Duaa (supplication). I (Umm Atiyah) said to the Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam): Oh! Messenger of ALLAH, one does not have an outer garment. He replied: Let her sister...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaum Ath-thalaatha 29th day of Ramadhaan (Tuesday 11th May 2021). ALL WE NEED TO KNOW AND PREPARE FOR EIDUL FITIR. BismilLaah.    EIDUL-FITR is celebrated on the first day of Shaw'waal, at the completion of RAMADAAN which may be Tomorrow Wednesday or Thursday subject to moon sighting this evening or not in Shaa ALLAH. The Eid-al-Fitr is a very joyous day; it is a true Thanksgiving Day for the believing men and women. On this day we Muslims show our real joy for the health, strength and the opportunities of life, which ALLAH has given to us to fulfill our obligation of fasting and other good deeds during the blessed month of Ramadan. Zakaatul fitir that we offer to the poor to enable them enjoy like us is to also mend any errors we made during our 29/30 days Fasting. Sunnahs of Eid day. Wake up early.  Prepare for personal cleanliness, take care of details of clothing, etc. Take a Ghusl (spiritual bath) after Fajr. Brush your teeth. Dress up,...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaum al-ithnayn 28th day of Ramadhaan (Monday 10th May 2021). THE POWER OF REPENTANCE ESPECIALLY IN THESE LAST FEW DAYS OF RAMADHAAN. BismilLaah.  The Messenger of ALLAH (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “No man does a wrong action then performs Wudu and does his Wudu well, then performs two Rakaats and seeks ALLAH’s forgiveness, but that HE will forgive him.” [Imam Ahmad].  Similar is ALLAH’s promise in the Quran: “Except the one who repents and believes and does good deeds, then ALLAH will replace the evil deeds of such people by good deeds, and ALLAH is Most-Forgiving, Very-Merciful.” [Surah Al-Furqan, Ayat 70] ALLAHU Akbar. A true repentance will not only remove the bad deed from your record, but will actually convert the bad you did into a good deed. There is no better moments to seek forgiveness for our bad behaviours from the past. Let's make good use of the remaining days and nights sincerely seeking ALLAH to forgive our sins. For those...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaumul Ahad 27th day of Ramadhaan (Sunday 9th May 2021). LET'S BE STEADFAST IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS AS STEADFASTNESS IS THE WAY TO PARADISE. BismilLaah.   Istiqaama (steadfastness) in Islam is a basic requirement for every Muslim. We are required to be steadfast in all good deeds without any laziness. Those who do that enjoys what ALLAH promised in  Suuratul Fussilat (41): 30-32. Read for yourself to see how beautiful this promise of ALLAH is.  Among them is our salaat and it's timing. As soon as you finish offering your fajir you start programing yourself for zuhur wherever you maybe. Striving to please your parents, supporting any charitable activities. Visiting the sick. Helping fellow Muslims in need especially the orphans. Striving to obey ALLAH and ignore any satanic influences. Making dua regularly towards ALLAH'S protection etc. The next few days may be crucial towards our success this month in shaa ALLAH or failure may ALLAH forbi...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaum As-Sabt 26th day of Ramadhaan (Saturday 8th May 2021). KEEP SEEKING OUT LAYLATUL QADR (Night of Power). BismilLah.  So valuable is this Night of Qadr that the Quran devotes a special surah to it “Lailatul Qadr is better than a thousand months” [97:3] This one night surpasses the value of 30,000 nights. The most authentic account of the occurrence of the Night indicates that it can occur on any one of the last ten, odd numbered nights of Ramadan. We should strive to stay up at least 2 hours before fajir set in of the last few days left because if we pray on these nights then surely we would have caught this most powerful night if not gone already and this would mean we would have a reward of 83 YEARS OF WORSHIP! I will never advice anyone to rely only on certain nights in worship at night else you end up missing this great night. Taraweeh, Tahajjud, Qiyaamullaiy are all sunnah with little difference between them and one is enough for us especially...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaumul Jumuat 25th day of Ramadhaan (Friday 7th May 2021). PURPOSE OF ZAKAATUL FITIR. Bismillah. The main purpose of Zakah al-Fitr is to provide those who fasted with the means of making up for their errors during the month of fasting. Zakah al-Fitr also provides the poor with a means with which they can celebrate the festival of breaking the fast (`Eid al-Fitr) along with the rest of the Muslims. Ibn Abbas reported, "The Prophet (peace be upon him) made Zakah al-Fitr compulsory so that those who fasted may be purified of their idle deeds and shameful talk (committed during Ramadan) and so that the poor may be fed. Whoever gives it before Salah will have it accepted as Zakah, while he who gives it after the Salah has given Sadaqah." [Collected by Imam Abu Dawud - Eng. transl. vol. 2, p. 421, no. 1605]. Hence, the goal of Sadaqah al-Fitr is the spiritual development of the Believers. By making us give up some of our wealth, the believers are taught th...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaum al-khamis 24th day of Ramadhaan (Thursday 6th May 2021). THE BEST FORM OF CHARITY. BismilLah. It was narrated that Abu Hurairah (RA) said: "A man asked: 'O Messenger of ALLAH (peace be upon him), which kind of charity is best? He said: 'Giving charity when you are in good health, and feeling stingy, hoping for a long life and fearing poverty."(Sunan an-Nasa'i, Book 23, Hadith 2543). There are many who have lost their jobs right now due to covid19 yet they have saved to give in Ramadhan. if you have your health, then give part of your savings or income in the name of ALLAH swt hoping for HIS reward, just as the Hadith says. In shaa ALLAH this will not only purify your wealth but be a protection for you and your income. Ramadhan is already few days left SubhaaAllah, avail every opportunity you have to give any little especially to your family and relatives near you who are in need. May ALLAH aid us to be able to support those in need ...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaum ath-thalaatha 22nd day of Ramadhaan (Tuesday 4th May 2021). ZAKAAT AL-FITR as EXPLAINED by Sheikh Dr. Bilal Philips based on Quran and Sunnah. BismilLah.  The amount of Zakaatul Fitir is the same for everyone regardless of their different income brackets. The minimum amount is one Sa` (two handfuls) of food, grain or dried fruit for each member of the family. This calculation is based on Ibn `Umar's report that the Prophet (peace be upon him) made Zakah al-Fitr compulsory and payable by a Sa` of dried dates or a Sa` of barley. The Sahabi, Abu Sa`id al-Khudri said, "In the Prophet's time, we used to give it (Zakah al-Fitr) as a Sa` of food, dried dates, barley, raisins or dried cheese". [Collected by Imam al-Bukhari - Arabic/English vol. 2, p. 340, no. 582 ].  If base on geographical location such as those of us abroad, you cannot arrange food you can offer some money but it should be enough to cater for at least a days meal and such mone...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaum al-ithnayn 21st day of Ramadhaan (Monday 3rd May 2021). SEEKING FORGIVENESS IN THESE LAST DAYS OF RAMADHAN. Bismillah. We MUST not allow this month to pass without seeking forgiveness in abundance for our past present and future sins. We should cry & beg of ALLAH to give us HIS MERCY & FORGIVENESS. If we leave Ramadan without gaining the MERCY of ALLAH then surely we are of the most unfortunate and amongst the biggest losers in this world and the next. We must Stand in prayer at night to gain forgiveness for all sins as Abu Huraira (RA) narrated that the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “Whoever stands (in prayer) in Laylatul Qadr while nourishing his faith with self-evaluation, expecting reward from ALLAH, will have all of his previous sins forgiven.” (Bukhari and Muslim). This is our best opportunity to gain forgiveness of our past and present sins. Forget the past now, learn from it & take lessons from it. What matters is NOW....
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaumul Ahad 20th day of Ramadhaan (Sunday 2nd May 2021). SOME BASIC RULES OF ITIKAAF. BismilLah.  Undoubtedly i’tikaaf in the mosque is an act of worship, and (observing it) in Ramadaan is better than at other times. It is prescribed in Ramadaan and at other times.  The basic principle is that i’tikaaf is Sunnah, not obligatory, so those who can do it must strive to do so. A person should stay in a mosque for the duration of the I’tikaf (except for certain things as going out to ease yourself if the masjid has no toilet facilities). One of our mothers Aa’ishah may ALLAH be pleased with her reported that when the Prophet (peace and blessings of ALLAH be upon him) observed I’tikaf, he did not enter the house except to relieve himself. Narrated by Muslim (297). Similarly, you also needs to eat and drink. If you do not have anyone who can bring you food and drink, then you may go out to get them if you need to. For everything that you cannot do witho...
