DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaum Al-Ithnayn, 9th day of Shawwal (Monday 1st June, 2020). SPECIAL INVITATION FROM ALLAH IN THE LAST THIRD OF EACH NIGHT. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem.
In swaheeh Al-Bukhari, Allah’s Messenger (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) is reported to have said: “Every night when it is the last third of the night, our Lord, the Exalted, the Blessed, descends to the nearest heaven in a way only known to HIM and says, ‘Is there anyone to invoke ME that I may respond to his invocation? Is there anyone to ask ME so that I may grant him his request? Is there anyone asking MY forgiveness so that I may forgive him?’.
This hadith informs us of the excellence of the last third of the night, how ALLAH (subhaanahu wa ta’aalaa) is hoping for HIS servants to ask HIM for something at that time, so HE may grant it to them. Although Allah (Subhaanahu wa ta’aalaa) hears us, watches us, and is aware of our feelings at all times, but the time before dawn is extra special invitation for ALLAH to have extra mercy on us.
Wake up a little before Fajr to capitalise on these moments of extraordinary nearness to ALLAH, the Exalted, the Blessed. Start with at least 30 minutes before fajir time set in to perform some naafl salaat followed by some azkar such as astaghfirulLah at least 100 times then go on sujuud to address ALLAH for your special needs. Do this regularly and be patient bcs due to our sins, our request maybe delayed to purify us first to be able to deserve the mercy of ALLAH. May ALLAH (Al-Haadi, The Guide) have mercy on us all and forgive our shortcomings. Aameen.
