THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaumul Jumuat, 16th day of Rajab, 1440, (Friday, 22nd March, 2019). Why do certain Surahs or chapters in the Qur’an begin with some Abreviated Letters such as Alif Laam Meem, Haa Meem, Yaa Seen, Taa Haa etc, What is the significance of such terms or phrases? What do they mean? How would you explain to an Atheist, None Muslims or even fellow Muslims who don't know?. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. It's totally wrong to say something ALLAH said has no meaning. The meaning maybe hidden from us but it does have meaning and if we accept it from ALLAH it means we've submitted to ALLAH that we know nothing and only ALLAH knows all. That's why if we recite alone we get rewarded. Studies has shown that ALLAH started revealing the Quran to the Prophet who was not educated in any form or shape. Not even nursery education. The People around him, the Meccans were also illiterates whatsoever but were orally excellence in Arabic Language so when he started teaching about knowledge of the unseen or religious lessons, many in Macca at that time even though we're surprised, they actually thought he was mad :). Especially when he and his companions migrated to Madina, Madina was full of Scholars of Christianity and Jewish who were well versed in their religion and Arabic Language but when the Prophet started teaching the deen, they noticed that the Prophet was the Messenger they were expecting from the knowledge of their scriptures and many of them became Muslims AlhamdulilLah. The Prophet managed to strike deals with the rest to come together in defence of Madina against the Meccan army who were threatening to bring down Madina. Why did Many Madina people and some Meccans believed in the message of the Qur'an including many scholars among the Christians and Jews who were scholars of Arabic Language? This brings to my response to our topic on this blessed day of Friday. Some wisdom to derive from these Letters found in Quran is that, they are Arabic alphabets and we know that whoever is been thought from beginning of any language start with alphabets isn't it? But no one really knows the meanings of any alphabetical letters such as A, B, C, D etc so when Arabic Scholars of those times among the Christians, Jews etc hears such letters such Alif Laam Meem, Haa Meem, Yaa seen etc they immediately knew The Messenger has a teacher who is teaching him something but who could that be? because they can speak Arabic and knows Arabic excellently but can't understand these letters. So whenever the Prophet says Yaa Seen WalQuraanil Hakeem, etc it send a strong shock to them, they don't understand where he got this from? Who is teaching him? because they know he has not studied from anywhere or from any human being. But those who trusted and became Muslims knew, his teacher is ALLAH through Angel Jibreel alayhi salaam. Miraculously, almost after all these letters in the Quran, ALLAH then speak about the Quran or the Kitaab as I have explained before. Such as Alif Laam Meem, Zaalikal Kitaabu LaaRayba Feeh, Yaa Seen, WalQuraanil Hakeem, Alif Laam Meem Tilka Aayaatul Kitaabul Hakeem, ThaaSeenMeem, Tilka Aayaatul Kitaabul Mubeen etc so basically ALLAH is drawing the attention of mankind to the Qur'an that HE ALLAH is the teacher and none can know the Quran without first submitting to it as a student learning not as a scholar of Arabic who think because of their Arabic knowledge, they can challenge the Quran. So basically these letters are there as orientational tools to the Quran meaning we must be prepared and submit to the Quran without having any doubt in it before we can benefit from it and understand it as the Quran can guide those seeking for guidance and can misguide those who think they know better. A good example is like new university students who have assembled to meet their professor for the 1st time, they will go through orientation with him isn't it? They will never doubt him or her. They will be quite, submissive to listen to the professor and on the first day, he or she will advice them on how to approach the course. He will tell them the books to buy, where to get their resources, how to prepare for their exams etc. So ALLAH, the owner of all knowledge created these letters in the Quran as a guide to those who wants to learn the Quran with a warning that we know nothing as such we must approach the Quran with submissiveness so that ALLAH can aid us to understand the Qur'an properly. These letters has meaning and I'm hopeful ALLAH will explain their real meaning to us in Jannat in shaa ALLAAH. May ALLAH increases us in beneficial knowledge. Aameen.

THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Al-Khamis. 25th day of RAJAB, 1444AH (Thursday 16th February. 2023). TOLERANCE WITH PEOPLE IN ISLAM. BismilLaah.  Tolerance (samah) is an important trait of a Muslim’s good character. We Muslims should be kind and gentle, patient with people, forgiving of bad character, and lenient whenever possible. The Prophet Mohammed Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam commanded us to avoid causing unnecessary difficulty and hardship in people’s lives and to inspire people with graceful speech. Make things easy and do not make things difficult. Give glad tidings and do not repel people. Cooperate with each other and do not become divided. Sahih Bukhari 2873, Grade: Muttafaqun Alayhi. This command is closely related to the need of a Muslim to control his or her anger. Unrestrained anger leads to numerous sins and bad deeds, so Muslims must temper their anger with patience, tolerance, and the ability to hold back harmful words. Teasing, mockery, insults to others et...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yawmul ahad, 17th day of Sha’abaan 1446AH, Sunday. 16th Feb. 2025). THE TRUE MEANINGS OF THE WORD DEEN continues. BismilLah.  ALLAH (Azza Wa Jal, The MIGHTY and the MAJESTIC) has sent HIS Messenger with the true deen for the purpose of ending the sovereignty of all false gods and granting us immense freedom so that we live as servants of none but the LORD of the UNIVERSE, no matter how much the idolaters and polytheists may dislike or oppose such a course. Thus, these three meanings of deen stand out: To acknowledge ALLAH as the ONLY LORD, MASTER and RULER. To obey and serve ONLY HIM. To be accountable to HIM, to fear only HIS punishment and to covet only HIS reward. Deen also includes obedience to ALLAH'S Messengers. The commandments of ALLAH Azzawajal have been given to human beings through HIS books and HIS Messengers. ALLAH Azzawajal says; Children of Aadam! If there should come to you Messengers from among you, who convey MY revelations unto you, ...

ALLAH says; 1. Successful indeed are the believers.  2. Those who offer their Salaat (prayers) with all solemnity and full submissiveness. 3. And those who turn away from Al-Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk, falsehood, and all that ALLAH has forbidden).  4. Those who pay the Zakat . 5. Those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts) 6. Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, for then, they are free from blame; etc ALLAH, the Most High, says “…for verily ALLAH is with those who believe.”[Al Qur’an 8:19] When ALLAH says that “HE is with the believers”, it means that the believers don’t need anyone else. Rasullulah(sallallahu alaihi wasallam) has said “Be mindful of ALLAH, and ALLAH will protect you. Be m...
