THIRD REMINDER. Wednesday. HOW TO DEAL WITH OUR BAD RELATIVES ISLAMICALLY. BismilLah A man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allaah, I have relatives with whom I try to keep in touch, but they cut me off; I treat them well, but they treat me badly; I try to be kind to them, but they are cruel to me." He said: "If you are as you say, it is as if you are putting hot ashes in their mouths. You will continue to have support from Allaah against them so long as you continue doing that." (Reported by Muslim, no. 2558). This Hadith and many similar ahadith is to encourage us to keep our kindness to our relatives purely for Allah sake regardless of how they treat us back because we are not doing to seek their rewards or appreciation but instead to seek Allah's MERCY so why bother about what they do in return? In Islam we are encouraged to reciprocate whatever kindness we receive from others with better kindness but if some chooses not to do so, say AlhamdulilLah for aiding you to do the right thing and let's minimise complaints else we looses the rewards for our good deeds. Allah knows best. May Allah keep guiding us all and protect us and our offspring from any satanic influences. Aameen.
