FIRST Reminder. FRIDAY. 27th day of Shawwaal. Question: The government in our country offers a loan to young people who graduate instead of employing them in government service. Is this loan halaal or haraam? What about local financial loans and loans from bank to help us establish halaal business? Response: The scholars of Islam base on Qur'an and sunnah are unanimously agreed that if it is stipulated that a loan be repaid with an additional amount, this is riba, which is haraam regardless of whoever is giving it or taking it and regardless of what the loan is to be used for.  Every loan in which it is stipulated that something extra be paid back is haraam, and there is no difference of scholarly opinion on this point making it a serious major sin in Islam. Is it not amazing that a Muslim will never eat pork because it is haram (unlawful); never marry his mother or sister because it is also haram, yet that same person has no problem devouring riba (e.g. interest, usury)? Did you know that engaging in riba is a major sin which could lead you to Hell? Read Qur'an 2:275 is there. Do you know Allah has declared war with anyone who take loans with interest? Read Qur'an 2:278. Based on this, if the loan is riba-based, whereby it is stipulated that the amount borrowed be repaid with interest, then it is not permissible for any Muslim to take this loan, because the contract is based on riba, and it is clear to us that riba is a major sin. But if this loan is a “goodly loan” and does not involve riba, and the borrower is required to repay only what he took, and no more, then there is nothing wrong with taking out this loan and benefiting from it. That's why Muslims are encouraged to support each other in soft loans so that we can stop going to the kuffar for loans with interest. May Allah ease our ways and grant us halaal sustenance that would be enough to prevent us from needing help from any haraam sources. Aameen. Please remember today is Friday as such we should strive to perform all the etiquette of Fridays. May Allah aid us through. Aameen.

THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Al-Khamis. 25th day of RAJAB, 1444AH (Thursday 16th February. 2023). TOLERANCE WITH PEOPLE IN ISLAM. BismilLaah.  Tolerance (samah) is an important trait of a Muslim’s good character. We Muslims should be kind and gentle, patient with people, forgiving of bad character, and lenient whenever possible. The Prophet Mohammed Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam commanded us to avoid causing unnecessary difficulty and hardship in people’s lives and to inspire people with graceful speech. Make things easy and do not make things difficult. Give glad tidings and do not repel people. Cooperate with each other and do not become divided. Sahih Bukhari 2873, Grade: Muttafaqun Alayhi. This command is closely related to the need of a Muslim to control his or her anger. Unrestrained anger leads to numerous sins and bad deeds, so Muslims must temper their anger with patience, tolerance, and the ability to hold back harmful words. Teasing, mockery, insults to others et...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yawmul ahad, 17th day of Sha’abaan 1446AH, Sunday. 16th Feb. 2025). THE TRUE MEANINGS OF THE WORD DEEN continues. BismilLah.  ALLAH (Azza Wa Jal, The MIGHTY and the MAJESTIC) has sent HIS Messenger with the true deen for the purpose of ending the sovereignty of all false gods and granting us immense freedom so that we live as servants of none but the LORD of the UNIVERSE, no matter how much the idolaters and polytheists may dislike or oppose such a course. Thus, these three meanings of deen stand out: To acknowledge ALLAH as the ONLY LORD, MASTER and RULER. To obey and serve ONLY HIM. To be accountable to HIM, to fear only HIS punishment and to covet only HIS reward. Deen also includes obedience to ALLAH'S Messengers. The commandments of ALLAH Azzawajal have been given to human beings through HIS books and HIS Messengers. ALLAH Azzawajal says; Children of Aadam! If there should come to you Messengers from among you, who convey MY revelations unto you, ...

ALLAH says; 1. Successful indeed are the believers.  2. Those who offer their Salaat (prayers) with all solemnity and full submissiveness. 3. And those who turn away from Al-Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk, falsehood, and all that ALLAH has forbidden).  4. Those who pay the Zakat . 5. Those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts) 6. Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, for then, they are free from blame; etc ALLAH, the Most High, says “…for verily ALLAH is with those who believe.”[Al Qur’an 8:19] When ALLAH says that “HE is with the believers”, it means that the believers don’t need anyone else. Rasullulah(sallallahu alaihi wasallam) has said “Be mindful of ALLAH, and ALLAH will protect you. Be m...
