DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yawm al-ithnayn, 6th day of Rajab 1446AH, Monday. 6th Jan. 2025). HOW TO OFFER OUR SALAAT WHEN WE ARE SICK. BismilLah.
Scholars based on QUR'AN and Sunnah ruled that If a sick person is unable to pray standing, he should pray sitting using gestures of the upper part of your body; if he is unable to do that, then he should pray lying on his side. If he is not able to do that, then he should pray in whatever position he is able to.
What is required is to do wudoo’ and cleanse himself of impurity; if he is unable to do wudoo’ and no one around to help him or her, he should do tayammum (“dry ablution”); if he is unable to do tayammum or to remove any impurity, he should pray as he is, because ALLAH (Azza wa Jalla), says (to the nearest meaning): “So fear ALLAH (Azza wa Jalla) as much as YOU are ABLE” [at-Taghaabun 64:16].
Based on that, the prayer that you offer in such a situation is valid, and you do not have to repeat it when you get well, because that was what you were able to do at that time. Alhamdulillah, for blessing us with ISLAM.
May ALLAH (Azza wa Jalla) keep guiding us all and increase us in beneficial knowledge. Aameen
