THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 21st day of Jumaadal Aakhir, 1445AH (Wednesday, 3rd January 2024). LET'S ASK OURSELVES THIS QUESTION. DO I HAVE A FIRM FAITH IN ALLAH?. Bismillah.

“I lost it. I lost the moment. I was so close to doing this act of obedience, and now I’m no longer there. I’m so far away. I don’t know what happened or how to get back there. Please pray for me…” Have you heard this before?

Many of our brothers and sisters find themselves in this situation, including myself. It comes to their knowledge that there is a certain aspect of the deen that they should be doing. They get encouraged and feel motivated to do it. They delay taking this step. They think of all the obstacles that could face them. They weaken and become hesitant. They end up not doing what they should be doing. Life absorbs them again. They get back to square one… regretting how they were once so close to an act of obedience, and now they’ve become so far away.

The issue is that ALLAH gave us the answer to this in the Qur’an.

“…But if they had done what they were instructed, it would have been better for them and a firmer position [for them in faith]. And then I would have given them from Us a great reward. And I would have guided them to a straight path.

And whoever obeys ALLAH and the Messenger – those will be with the ones upon whom ALLAH has bestowed favour of the prophets, the steadfast affirmers of truth, the martyrs and the righteous. And excellent are those as companions.

That is the bounty from ALLAH, and sufficient is ALLAH as Knower.” (Qur’an 4: 66-70). Allahu Akbar.

The problem is that people delay or postpone doing the right thing. When you have a moment of clarity or a moment of light or a big feeling of encouragement to do an act of obedience -especially if it’s fardh (obligatory)– then this is a gift from ALLAH and you should seize it, you should not drop it or let it go. As ALLAH mentioned, the way to do that is to do what you were instructed to do. This shows your trust in ALLAH, strong faith in HIM, and keenness on obeying HIM despite challenges or fears or obstacles you may have.

This is what Ibrahim (peace be upon him) did when ALLAH gave him the instruction to slaughter his son. Of course, you could wait and think of all the negatives of doing so and all the obstacles… but you could also submit. And when you submit, ALLAH shows you the wisdom and teaches you the meaning and the depth and the beauty of what HE asked you to do, and HE opens doors, and HE descends peace upon heart.

So try not to delay doing what’s right… be it learning more about the deen, reading/learning/memorizing the Qur’an, dressing modestly as instructed, leaving bad company, leaving impure activities….. follow what increases your light, and ALLAH will help you. But remain in darknesses, and you won’t be able to help yourself.

Remember that your heart has light. So think about it: if you have a lamp that emanates light, but you forget or neglect to clean it for days, months, or years… what will happen? Dirt will accumulate over it, and it will be covered under layers of darkness. So, what you need to do is to actively engage in cleaning the lamp constantly to maintain the light. Similarly with our hearts. They have light. But when we neglect to work on cleaning and purifying it as we are instructed, then our hearts will be burdened and covered under layers of darkness. Maintaining the light needs work. It doesn’t happen with passiveness. It happens with taking action. Let's take action now towards total obedience to the Creator. May ALLAH keep guiding us all and protect us from any satanic influences. Aameen.

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaum As-Sabt, 5th day of RAJAB (Saturday 29th of February, 2020). LETS BE MINDFUL OF THESE BAD HABITS IN LIFE. BismilLah. Let's remind  ourselves that ALLAH does not love stubborn rejectors of faith, committing sins, and showing ingratitude. ALLAH says: فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ الْكَافِرِينَ Verily, ALLAH does not love the unbelievers. Qur'an 3:32. Why? Bcs their disbelief in ALLAH and HIS Messenger only grant them the Hellfire. And ALLAH says: وَاللَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ كُلَّ كَفَّارٍ أَثِيمٍ ALLAH does not love any ungrateful sinner. Quran 2:276. ALLAH does not love arrogance, pride, boasting to one another, extravagance, and exultation in wrongdoing. ALLAH says: إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ مَن كَانَ مُخْتَالًا فَخُورًا Verily, ALLAH does not love those who are proud and boastful. Surah An-Nisa 4:36. These few are more than enough to aid us to fear these bad acts in our lives. We ask ALLAH to make us among those who are loved by HIM and who are...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Al-Khamis. 25th day of RAJAB, 1444AH (Thursday 16th February. 2023). TOLERANCE WITH PEOPLE IN ISLAM. BismilLaah.  Tolerance (samah) is an important trait of a Muslim’s good character. We Muslims should be kind and gentle, patient with people, forgiving of bad character, and lenient whenever possible. The Prophet Mohammed Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam commanded us to avoid causing unnecessary difficulty and hardship in people’s lives and to inspire people with graceful speech. Make things easy and do not make things difficult. Give glad tidings and do not repel people. Cooperate with each other and do not become divided. Sahih Bukhari 2873, Grade: Muttafaqun Alayhi. This command is closely related to the need of a Muslim to control his or her anger. Unrestrained anger leads to numerous sins and bad deeds, so Muslims must temper their anger with patience, tolerance, and the ability to hold back harmful words. Teasing, mockery, insults to others et...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaum As-Sabt. 17th day of Jumaadal Aakhir.. (Saturday 30th January 2021). A SERIOUS CONDITION TO FULFILL FOR ALLAH TO ANSWER OUR DUA. BismilLah Consuming haraam wealth is one of the major reason why du’aa’s are not answered. Abu Hurayrah (may ALLAAH be pleased with him) said: the Messenger of ALLAH (peace and blessings of ALLAH be upon him) said: “O people, ALLAAH is Good and only accepts that which is good. ALLAAH commanded the pious to follow the same commandments as HE gave to the Messengers. HE says; ‘O (you) Messengers! Eat of the Tayyibaat [all kinds of Halaal (lawful) foods which ALLAAH has made lawful (meat of slaughtered eatable animals, milk products, fats, vegetables, fruits)] and do righteous deeds. Verily, I am Well-Acquainted with what you do’ [al-Mu’minoon 23:51]. ‘O you who believe (in the Oneness of ALLAAH, Islamic Monotheism)! Eat of the lawful things that I have provided you with’ [al-Baqarah 2:172]. Another important point is to rea...
