 THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaum Al-Khamis. 12th day of Dhul-Qa'adah, 1444AH (Thursday, 1st June, 2023).

KNOWING ALLAH THROUGH HIS NAMES AND ATTRIBUTES. BismilLah. 


The first and most significant pillar of imaan (faith) in Islam is belief in ALLAH. As Muslims, we believe in ALLAH in accordance with HIS beautiful names and attributes. ALLAH has revealed HIS names repeatedly in the Holy Quran primarily for us to understand who HE is. Learning and memorizing the names of ALLAH will help us to identify the correct way to believe in HIM. There is nothing more sacred and blessed than understanding the names of ALLAH and living by them. How do we expect to worship, love, fear, and trust our Lord, The Almighty ALLAH, if we don’t know who HE is?

ALLAH says in the Quran:

And to ALLAH belong the best names, so invoke HIM by them.. (Quran 7:180).

ALLAH, there is no deity except HIM. To HIM belongs the best names. (Quran 20:8).

HE is ALLAH, the Creator, the Inventor, the Fashioner; to HIM belong the best names. (Quran 59:24). Let's strive to study these names and attributes and seek help and support from HIM through HIS names such as this powerful dua. Yaa Hayyu yaa Qayyuum Birahmatika Astaqeeth, oh ALLAH you are the living and Maintainer of life so with your MERCY I seek your help in this my situation. Whatever your troubles in life are, commit to this dua regularly and in shaa ALLAH your issues will be resolved. May ALLAH keep guiding us all and increase us in beneficial knowledge. Aameen. I hope you are fasting today, if you forgot, you can continue from now in shaa ALLAH. May ALLAH accept it from us all.

ALLAH says: إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ مَن كَانَ مُخْتَالًا فَخُورًا Verily, ALLAH does not love those who are proud and boastful. Surah An-Nisa 4:36. BismilLaah.  Tolerance (samah) is an important trait of a Muslim’s good character. We Muslims should be kind and gentle, patient with people, forgiving of bad character, and lenient whenever possible. BismilLah Consuming haraam wealth is one of the major reason why du’aa’s are not answered.
