THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaum Al-Ithnayn. 1st day of Ramadaan, 1440, (Monday, 6th May, 2019). FEW TIPS TO PREVENT THE FEELING OF THIRST DURING OUR RAMADAN DAYS. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem.
AlhamdulilLah for blessing us with another blessed month of the Year. It's my hope that majority of Muslims worldwide if not all started fasting today. May ALLAH accept it from us all.
Let's make sure we drink plenty of fluids and water between Iftar and Suhour to prevent dehydration.
Limit your intake of fried foods and foods high in fats and sugar.
Avoid foods high in salt such as pickles, salty crackers and nuts, and canned foods.
Try not to drink too much tea especially at Suhour as it can increase fluids lost through urination.
It is highly recommended for Muslims to take their pre-dawn meal (as-suhour) before beginning the day of fasting. The Prophet mentioned its blessings in several traditions.
Anas ibn Malik reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
تَسَحَّرُوا فَإِنَّ فِي السُّحُورِ بَرَكَةً
Take the morning meal. Verily, there is blessing in the morning meal. Sahih Bukhari 1823, Grade: Muttafaqun Alayhi
Irbad ibn Sariyah reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, invited people to the morning meal during Ramadan and he said:
هَلُمَّ إِلَى الْغَدَاءِ الْمُبَارَكِ
Come to the blessed breakfast. Sunan Abu Dawud 2344.
May ALLAH keep guiding us all and grant us a successful Ramadan. Aameen.
