DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaumul Jumuat 6th day of Jumaada Al-Thani (Friday 31st of January, 2020). Our 4th Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib may ALLAH be pleased with him reported: The Messenger of ALLAH, peace and blessings be upon him, said: A Muslim has six rights over another Muslim regarding good conduct: to greet him with peace when he meets him, to respond to his invitation, to respond to his sneeze, to visit him when he is sick, to follow his funeral prayer when he dies, and to love for him what he loves for himself. Source: Sunan al-Tirmidhī 2736. Among the rights of a Muslim over another Muslim are that he cover his faults, forgive his mistakes, have mercy for his errors, overlook his missteps, reject his backbiting, always give him sincere ad...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaum Al-Khamis, 5th day of Jumaada Al-Thani (Thursday 30th of January, 2020). ISLAM DESTROY PAST SINS. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem. ALLAAH made Islam to destroy the sins that came before it. When a disbeliever becomes Muslim, ALLAAH forgives all that he or she did when he was a non-Muslim, and he becomes cleansed of sin. In Swaheeh Muslim (121) narrated that ‘Amr ibn al-‘Aas (may ALLAAH be pleased with him) said: When ALLAAH put Islam in my heart, I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of ALLAAH be upon him) and said: “Give me your right hand so that I may swear allegiance to you.” He held out his hand and I withdrew my hand. He said, “What is the matter, O ‘Amr?” I said, “I want to stipulate a condition.” He said, “What do you want to stipulate?” I said, “That I will be forgiven.” He said, “Do you not know that Islam destroys that which came before it?” “Islam destroys that which came before it” means that it erases it and wipes it out. Stated by al...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaum Arbaà, 4th day of Jumaada Al-Thani (Wednesday 29th of January, 2020). HAPPY MARRIAGE, LIVING WITH PEACE AND HARMONY AT HOME. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. ALLAAH says in the holy Quran; “And among HIS Signs is this, that HE created for you wives from among yourselves, that you may find tranquility in them, and HE has put between you affection and MERCY. Verily, in that are indeed signs for a people who reflect.” [Al-Qur’an 30: 21]. Marriage is an institute which can be as firm as a rock or weak as a thread, it is up to the partners to make it either one.  We have to learn to be tolerant of each other for the MERCY of ALLAH to flow in the marriage. Marriage is a great Sunnah and an act of worship.  It is the responsibility of both husband and wife to give 100% effort to make their marriage successful and their home peaceful and Islamic solely for ALLAH sake. At the time of concern and tension in domestic affairs, please review your life p...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaum Ath-thalaatha, 3rd day of Jumaada Al-Thani (Tuesday 28th of January, 2020). ISLAMIC SOLUTION TO FORGETFULNESS. Bismillah. Frequently remembering ALLAAH, may HE be glorified, by reciting dhikr, tasbeeh (saying ‘Subhan ALLAAH ’), tahmeed (‘Al-hamdu Lillaah’), tahleel (‘Laa ilaaha ILL-ALLAAH ’) and takbeer (‘Allaahu akbar’), etc. ALLAAH says: “…And remember your Lord when you forget…” [al-Kahf 18:24]. Not eating too much, because eating too much makes one sleep too much and become lazy, and it dulls the senses, besides exposing one to the risk of physical diseases. Most of the diseases which we see result from food and drink. Some of the scholars have mentioned certain foods which increase the memory, such as drinking honey and eating raisins and chewing certain kinds of gum resin. Imaam al-Zuhri said: “You should eat honey because it is good for the memory.” Too much acidic food is one of the causes of laziness and weak memory. We ask ALLAH to ha...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaum Al-Ithnayn, 2nd day of Jumaada Al-Thani (Monday 27th of January, 2020). CHARMS, TALISMANS, and AMULETS in ISLAM. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. The issue of wearing amulets and good luck charms is important to understand for a Muslim to implement the teachings of monotheism (tawheed) in his or her daily life. Many cultures have practices in which they wear accessories or seek blessings from objects, believing that these objects can ward off evil. Such practices contradict the correct understanding of the attributes of ALLAH, as only ALLAH has the absolute power to bring benefit and protect from harm. ALLAH says: قُل لَّا أَمْلِكُ لِنَفْسِي ضَرًّا وَلَا نَفْعًا إِلَّا مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ Say: I have no power at all for myself to harm or benefit except as ALLAH wills. Surat Yunus 10:49. And ALLAH says again: وَلَا تَدْعُ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ مَا لَا يَنفَعُكَ وَلَا يَضُرُّكَ ۖ فَإِن فَعَلْتَ فَإِنَّكَ إِذًا مِّنَ الظَّالِمِينَ Do not invoke besides ALLA...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaumul Ahad, 1st day of Jumaada Al-Thani (Sunday 26th of January, 2020). LEARNING ABOUT THE PROPHET sallallaahu Alaihi wasallam. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Quick question to refresh our minds: who was Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaiyhi wassallam? As Muslims, we believe he was the last and final messenger of the CREATOR, ALLAH to mankind. His life is an example for generations after generations until the end of time on how to live in a pure and humble way, with the worship of ALLAH, the Creator as our purpose and pivotal role. The word “sunnah” is used to describe the life and teachings of the Prophet. The sunnah is an ultimate guidance for leading a productive, successful life. Sometimes we neglect the sunnah, however, and we find ourselves googling “how to be successful/smart/productive”, while the sunnah of the Prophet has provided us with gems on how to do just that. Better yet, the Prophet said: “Whoever revives my Sunnah then he has loved me. A...
DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaum As-Sabt, 30th day of Jumaada Al-Awwal (Saturday 25th of January, 2020). TV MAY BE FITNAH IN OUR LIFE. BismilLah. The most dangerous instrument that is being used today to prepare mankind for the coming of Dajjal, is the television. The television networks announce their viewer ship for all major events to be in the billions, which indicates the ability to influence so many people all at once. This shows the ability of disseminating information (true or false) to billions of people. We cannot allow ourselves as Muslims to be influenced or corrupted by television if we wish to be able recognize the fitna and fasaad of the Dajjal. What should we, as Muslims, be doing? We should be spending our precious time in an environment that promotes the consciousness of ALLAH (S.W.T) and fulfilling our object of our existence on earth. As ALLAH mentions in Quran: I created the jinn and humankind only that they might worship ME. [adh-Dhariyat 51:56]. ALLAH (S.W...
