THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm al-ithnayn. 21st day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Tuesday 30th April 2024). THE DANGEROUS NATURE  OF OUR SADAQAH/ CHARITY/ SUPPORT FOR FAMILY AND FRIENDS IF NOT FOR ALLAH SAKE. BismilLah.  ALLAH says in the holy QUR'AN 2:264. يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لَا تُبۡطِلُواْ صَدَقَٰتِكُم بِٱلۡمَنِّ وَٱلۡأَذَىٰ  O you who believe! Do not render in vain your Sadaqah (charity) by reminders of your generosity or by injury,  ALLAH then says, كَالَّذِي يُنفِقُ مَالَهُ رِيَاء النَّاسِ like him who spends his wealth to be seen of men, meaning, "Do not nullify your acts of charity by following them with reminders and harm, just like the charity of those who give it to show off to people." The boasting person pretends to give away charity for ALLAH'S sake, but in reality seeks to gain people's praise and the reputation of being kind or generous, or other material gains of this life. All the while, he does not think about ALLAH or gaining HIS ...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm al-ithnayn. 20th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Monday 29th April 2024). LET'S TURN TO ALLAH SINCERELY SEEKING HIS PARADISE. BismilLah.  ALLAH says in Qur'an 66:8; يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ امَنُوا تُوبُوا إِلَى اللَّهِ تَوْبَةً نَّصُوحًا O you who believe! Turn to ALLAH with sincere repentance! meaning, a true, firm repentance that erases the evil sins that preceded it and mend the shortcoming of the repenting person, encouraging and directing him to quit the evil that he used to do. It may be that your Lord will expiate from you your sins, and admit you into Gardens under which rivers flow, And when ALLAH says, "it may be," it means HE shall. HE continued by saying يَوْمَ لَا يُخْزِي اللَّهُ النَّبِيَّ وَالَّذِينَ امَنُوا مَعَهُ the Day that ALLAH will not disgrace the Prophet and those who believe with him...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawmul Ahad. 19th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Sunday 28th April 2024). THE IMPORTANCE OF NOT BEING TOO CONCERNED WITH THE MATTERS OF THE WORLDLY LIFE, AND BEING CHARITABLE BEFORE DEATH continues. BismilLah.  Let's continue with our reminder from yesterday.  Surely, every person who fell into shortcomings will regret it by the time of his death and will ask for respite, even a short period, so that he does better and attains what he missed. But, No, rather what occurred, has occurred and what is coming, shall indeed come. Each will be held accountable for his mistakes. All the above including yesterday's reminder is about a Muslim. As for the disbelievers, they will be as ALLAH said about them, And warn mankind of the Day when the torment will come unto them; then the wrongdoers will say: "Our Lord! Respite us for a little while, we will answer Your call and follow the Messengers!" (It will be said): "Had you not sworn aforetime tha...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm As-Sabt. 18th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Saturday 27th April 2024). THE IMPORTANCE OF NOT BEING TOO CONCERNED WITH THE MATTERS OF THE WORLDLY LIFE, AND BEING CHARITABLE BEFORE DEATH. BismilLah.  ALLAH says in Qur'an 63 vs 9-10,  O you who believe! Let not your properties (wealth) or your children divert you from the remembrance of ALLAH (acts of worship). ALLAH the Exalted orders HIS faithful servants to remember HIM frequently and to refrain from being distracted from HIS remembrance by indulging in their properties and children excessively. وَمَن يَفْعَلْ ذَلِكَ فَأُوْلَيِكَ هُمُ الْخَاسِرُونَ And whosoever does that, then they are the losers. Astaghfirullah.  ALLAH then encourages we the believers to spend in HIS cause in the next verse as follows, And spend of that with which ME, ALLAH have provided you before death comes to one of you, and he says: "My Lord! If only YOU would give me respite for a little while, then I should giv...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Al-Khamis. 2nd day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Thursday 11th April 2024). HAVE YOU STARTED FASTING FOR YOUR RAMADHAN DEBTS OR STARTED YOUR 6t SHAW'WAAL? BismilLah.  AlhamdulilLah for guiding and blessing us to be part of the blessed month of Ramadhan. Many Muslims couldn't fast due to genuine reasons and some ignored it without any genuine reasons. May ALLAH guide those Muslims from any satanic influences. Aameen.  It's important we don't delay any acts of worship that can get us closer to ALLAH. Those who missed any days in Ramadhan should start fasting now without delaying it unless with genuine reasons. Those who don't owe any days should start fasting the 6 recommended days in this month of Shaw'waal.  The Prophet (peace and blessings of ALLAH be upon him) explained this when he said: “Whoever fasts for six days after (Eid) al-Fitr has completed the year: (whoever does a good deed (hasanah) will have ten hasanah like it).” Ac...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 1st day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Wednesday 10th April 2024). *_EID MUBARAK TO YOU ALL_*. BismilLah.  AlhamdulilLah for granting us the opportunity to be part of this blessed day. May ALLAH accept our acts of worship and forgive our shortcomings during the blessed month. May ALLAH heal our sick brothers and sisters, May ALLAH protect all marriages from any satanic influences, May ALLAH grant us good wives and husbands, May ALLAH protect our jobs and aid jobless brothers and sisters to find good halaal jobs. May ALLAH Unite this Ummah and protect us from divisions. May ALLAH aid HIS servants and guide the enemies of Islam into Islam. Let's strive to feed our neighbours and make eid enjoyable to all. Once again Eid Mubarak. JazaakumulLaahu Khairan for all your support in the blessed month of Ramadhan.  Please don't forget these Sunnah acts today. Remember to offer your Zakaat-al-Fitr this morning before going for  eid if you've n...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm al-ithnayn. 29th day of Ramadhan, 1445AH (Monday 8th April 2024). HOW TO OFFER EID PRAYER BismilLaah. Ibn Abbass (ra) reported: " I participated in the Eid-ul-Fitr prayer with the Messenger of ALLAH (sallallahu alaihi wasallam), Abu Bakr (ra), Umar (ra) and Uthman (ra), and all of them held Eid prayer before Khutbah, and then the Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) delivered the Khutbah (sermon). (Narrated by Imam Muslim). Who should go to the prayer ground & offer Eid Prayer: Umm Atiyah (ra) reported: "The Messenger of ALLAH (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) commanded us to bring out on Eid-al-Fitr and Eid-al-Adha, young women, hijab-observing adult women and the menstruating women. The menstruating women stayed out of actual Salaat but participated in good deeds and Duaa (supplication). I (Umm Atiyah) said to the Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam): Oh! Messenger of ALLAH, one does not have an outer garment. He replied: Let ...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawmul Ahad. 28th day of Ramadhan, 1445AH (Sunday 7th April 2024). ALL WE NEED TO KNOW AND PREPARE FOR EIDUL FITIR. BismilLaah.    EIDUL-FITR is celebrated on the first day of Shaw'waal, at the completion of RAMADHAN, which may be Tuesday or Wednesday subject to moon sighting in Shaa ALLAH. The Eid-al-Fitr is a very joyous day; it is a true Thanksgiving Day for the believing men and women. On this day we Muslims show our real joy for the health, strength and the opportunities of life, which ALLAH has given to us to fulfill our obligation of fasting and other good deeds during the blessed month of Ramadan. Zakaatul fitir that we offer to the poor to enable them enjoy like us is to also mend any errors we made during our 29/30 days Fasting. Sunnahs of Eid day. Wake up early.  Prepare for personal cleanliness, take care of details of clothing, etc. Take a Ghusl (spiritual bath) after Fajr. Brush your teeth. Dress up, putting on best clothes...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawmul Jumuat. 26th day of Ramadhan, 1445AH (Friday 5th April 2024). LAYLATUL QADR MAY BE TONIGHT. BismilLah.  Are you one of those making this mistake? Many of us tend to give our maximum efforts on only the odd nights especially on the 27th night of Ramadhan, and from the 28th they relax and some may not do any act of worship believing LaylatulQadar had come and gone. That's a huge error of judgement. It may be tonight or tomorrow night so don’t relax please.  The Prophet sallalLaahu Alaihi Wasallam said: “I came out to tell you when Laylat al-Qadr was, and So and so and So and so were arguing, so it [the knowledge of when Laylat al-Qadr was] was taken away from me. Perhaps this is better for you...” [al-Bukhari 1919]. The fact of the matter is that no one can be certain about Laylat al-Qadr, so let's keep striving till the Moon is confirmed sighted.  Please remember today is Friday.   May ALLAH keeps guiding us all and prote...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Al-Khamis. 25th day of Ramadhan, 1445AH (Thursday 4th April 2024). LET'S STRIVE TO PERFECT OUR ACTS OF WORSHIP AS THE QUANTITY HAS NO REWARDS WITHOUT KHUSHOO (Steadfastness). BismilLah.  AlhamdulilLah for granting us the opportunity to be part of these blessed days and nights of Ramadhan. It is narrated that once the Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam was in the masjid and saw a man praying. When the man finished, the Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam informed him that he had not prayed and should repeat his salaah. This happened multiple times, and when the man inquired about how this could be, the Prophet explained that the man was praying in a way that he was not fulfilling the criteria for each part of the prayer to be accepted. [Bukhari 757]. This teaches us that merely doing the actions in the prayer is not enough. Rather, there are criteria that must be followed. It’s much better to pray slowly, ensuring to fulfil each criterion rathe...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 24th day of Ramadhan, 1445AH (Wednesday 3rd April 2024). HAVE YOU PAID YOUR ZAKAAT THIS YEAR?BismilLah. In summary, Zakaat is one of the five pillars of islam. It is an obligation from ALLAH upon every Muslim who possesses the minimum amount of wealth given certain conditions. This is not Zakaatul Fitir or Eidul Fitir, which we reminded each other for the past two days.  The type of wealth upon which zakat is obligatory are monetary assets, livestock, agricultural produce, merchandise. I will focus on monetary. Gold, silver, and currency. Zakaat [obligatory charity] must be paid on gold if it reaches the Nisaab [i.e. the minimum amount liable for Zakaah], which is 20 Mithqaal [a measure which equals 85 grams of pure gold, 1 Mithqaal = 4.25 grams], this means that one should pay ½ a Mithqaal as Zakaat, i.e., 2.5% of the value of gold. Zakaat must be paid on silver if it reaches the value of 200 Dirhams, which is the equivalent of 595 g...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Ath-thalaatha. 23rd day of Ramadhan, 1445AH (Tuesday 2nd April 2024). PURPOSE OF ZAKAATUL FITIR. Bismillah. The main purpose of Zakah al-Fitr is to provide those who fasted with the means of making up for their errors during the month of fasting. Zakah al-Fitr also provides the poor with a means with which they can celebrate the festival of breaking the fast (`Eid al-Fitr) along with the rest of the Muslims. Ibn Abbas reported, "The Prophet (peace be upon him) made Zakah al-Fitr compulsory so that those who fasted may be purified of their idle deeds and shameful talk (committed during Ramadhan) and so that the poor may be fed. Whoever gives it before Salah will have it accepted as Zakah, while he who gives it after the Salah has given Sadaqah." [Collected by Imam Abu Dawud - Eng. transl. vol. 2, p. 421, no. 1605]. Hence, the goal of Sadaqah al-Fitr is the spiritual development of the Believers. By making us give up some of our wealth, the be...
THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm al-ithnayn. 22nd day of Ramadhan, 1445AH (Monday 1st April 2024). PREPARE TO GIVE YOUR ZAKAATUL FITIR. BismilLah.  Zakaat al-Fitr is often referred to as Sadaqah al-Fitr. The word Fitr means the same as Iftar, breaking a fast, and it comes from the same root word as Futur, which means breakfast. Thus, Islamically, Zakaat al-Fitr is the name given to charity, which is distributed at the end of the fast of Ramadhan. This is not the yearly Zakaat payment.  Sadaqah al-Fitr is a duty that is Wajib on every Muslim, whether male or female, minor or adult, as long as he/she has the means to do so. The proof that this form of charity is compulsory can be found in the Sunnah whereby Ibn `Umar reported that the Prophet (peace be upon him) made Zakah al-Fitr compulsory on every slave, freeman, male, female, young and old among the Muslims; one Saa of dried dates or one Saa of barley. Collected by Bukhari - Arabic/English, vol. 2, p. 339, no. 579....
